LIVESTREAM TRANSCRIPT: Mitt Romney’s Speech in Morrisville, Pennsylvania will be on CSPAN at 425pm CST today!

Posted on November 4, 2012 by Kevin DuJan // Breaking News, Featured Content

What:  Mitt Romney speech from Morrisville, Pennsylvania

When: 425pm CST on 11/4/2012

How to watch: CSPAN, via a link HERE

Format:  Livestream transcript of Romney’s big speech in Pennsylvania

Justin and I are headed back to Chicago from Wisconsin right now and I’m writing this on his phone, but wanted to make sure you knew that you can watch Mitt Romney speak from Morrisville, Pennsylvania at 425pm CST today.

I really want to see what the crowd looks like in Pennsylvania and how much energy will be in that speech.

I think we’ll get back in time for me to do a live stream transcript of this…but if not I’ll watch it later and transcribe as I go.  But I think we’ll be back.

The speech starts at 425pm CST 11/4/2012.

Tune in!

******************************************************

Here’s something that’s really fun to find all in one place:  CSPAN has all the modern speeches for Election Night going back many years. Both the Victory and the Concession speeches.

Mitt Romney will be giving his Victory Speech in Boston on Tuesday; meanwhile here in Chicago, Barack Obama will be making his Concession Speech from the fortress-like McCormick Place convention center.

We’ve waited for years to hear Barack Obama concede defeat and prepare to leave our daily lives…so watching some of these past speeches will hopefully get you in the groove for what’s to come.

It’s actually interesting to go back and listen to the Victory Speeches and think about how most of these guys say the same things over and over through the years…but nothing ever really gets better in terms of education, infrastructure, etc.  No matter what party is in power, it’s always about how we need to improve education but yet we never do.  Could be because we have not yet eliminated the teachers’ unions.  How about we give that a shot in the future, and take the other public sector unions with them?

********************************************************

430pm CST — waiting for the rally to start.  Some man is singing a song I don’t know.

Shots of people coming in for the rally.  Lots of little kids bouncing on top of people’s shoulders.  The music is kind of catchy.

While it plays I’m going to make Justin some dinner since we didn’t eat on the road to and from Wisconsin.  I’m using that lasagna tray I love so much but I’m making three different kinds of macaroni and cheese tonight, in the three different compartments: one regular, one with beef, and then a white cheddar and bacon one with chicken. I got a bunch of different cheeses at Mars Cheese Castle near Kenosha on our drive back and am using some tips the cheese lady there gave me for making these different mac & cheeses for Justin.

I swear, this pan makes me so happy and I use it every week for something:  it’s great for baking too.  Everyone I know is getting this from me for Christmas because it just makes my life so easy since I can make food for three days’ worth of meals for Justin and myself because of the three different compartments.  If you have a bigger family, you’d probably just use it all up in one big meal (or two), but Justin and I typically only eat one big meal a day and snack the rest of the time so this is three days’ worth of cooking for us.

I’ve never bought anything that makes me this happy before or that is this useful in the kitchen.  I just love this Chicago Metallic lasagna pan. After Romney wins, I’m going to celebrate by using an Amazon gift card I saved up to buy us a roasting pan from Chicago Metallic too…and then all winter I can make all kinds of roasts and I will think, “That’s the pan I ordered after Romney won the presidency.  I ordered that when he was making his victory speech”.  I like to imbibe household tools with magical memories like this for some reason.

440pm CST –

Apparently, this is a big and famous “southern rock group”.  They are really good…like 70s rock.  I have no idea who they are though, but people there seem to know.  I swear, if you show me a pic of a fashion show from 1995 I could name every model and could probably tell you the designer, too…and I am good with movie stars and TV people…and of course I cover politics so I know most of the Congresscritters by sight…but I just don’t know music very well.  That’s totally Justin’s department.  Music and computer stuff.  Leave the supermodels to me.

The song the group is playing is “Can’t You See?”…but I can’t see who’s playing it…lots of flag waving…excited people.  It looks like everyone in Pennsylvania has turned out for this.

It’s dark in Pennsylvania…still light here in Chicago though.  Must be cold there too because everyone is bundled up with hats and scarves.  Everyone is smiling and excited.

I lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania back in 2004 and I worked on the Kerry campaign there.  For the longest time they really thought Kerry would lose Pennsylvania and people were very freaked out all summer and into the fall.  This was obviously back when I was still a Democrat.  When we’d go canvassing for Kerry, people would say “I’ll vote for him because I always vote Democrat but he’s so gross.  He looks like he would smell like farts.  He reminds me of the guy on the Munsters”.  I loved that.  All of it was true.  It wasn’t until the day or so before the election that the Kerry campaign felt it would actually win the state.  And even then, we held our breath on election night.  That was a sad and early night for me that year…I think I was home by 9pm, even though results were still coming in.  We knew it was over though.

I mention this because it’s still hard for a lot of people to wrap their heads around the idea that Pennsylvania will go to Mitt Romney, but I really think it will.  This is the best year ever for that to happen…and I can tell you that the fear in Kerry’s camp of losing Pennsylvania in 2004 was real.  So it really is a state that could vote Republican…if the right Republican ran.

Mitt Romney is the right Republican and will win the state.

That’s such an exciting thought.  It’s going to happen.

****************************************************

450pm CST —  still the event pre-show…people getting into place, different musicians and canned music playing…

Sign in the crowd:  REAL CHANGE on DAY ONE

Love it.

Looks like Romney’s plane has been delayed.  He’s flying in from Ohio.  That would be my home state. Jealous?

I love saying that to Justin and teasing him that he’s not from Cleveland like me, so he must he jealous.  Cleveland, Ohio…city of light, city of magic…where my heart will always be, even if Democrats have rendered it a pile of smoldering ruins.

CSPAN says that Romney “is also campaigning in Iowa, Ohio, and Virginia” today in addition to Pennsylvania.  I wonder if they did it Iowa-Ohio-Pennsyvlania and then next up will be a later rally in Virginia, like an 8pm thing?  A late one?

That would make sense to go west to east like that.

500pm CST — they are showing the crowd in Pennsylvania the video of the Romneys that they showed at the Republican Convention…the bio video, talking about the family, etc.  Also talking about the Olympics.  It’s a great video. I know someone will find it on YouTube and put it in comments for me.

Mitt’s talking about how much he loves Anne…and this is one of the only political couples who I think really are totally in love with each other.  Like, old Hollywood romance love…like the Reagans had.  I actually think the Carters really love each other too…and George and Laura Bush…and the first Bushes too.

I think the Clintons are best friends and know they are more powerful together than apart.  The Obamas have an arranged “Down Low Club” marriage between a clearly gay man and a woman who was too difficult to deal with for a straight guy but who made a nice beard for a biracial guy who wanted black street cred.

It’s going to be great to have nice people who love each other and this country in the White House again.

*************************************************

506pm CST — I kind of love listening to Mitt Romney talk now.  It makes me smile.  He’s really going to fix things.  I believe in him.

I pledge to do everything I can do to help him succeed in any way I can…and I hope you do, too.  This remarkable man has agreed to serve…and he answered the call to duty.  I hope you choose to help him from DAY ONE.  He just said in the video he will devote every waking hour of his energy to making America strong again.

How about we all match that?

509pm CST — the video talks about Paul Ryan, and there’s a HUGE CHEER as he talks on his video from the VP introduction event.

Governor Corbett, former Governor Ridge, Senator Toomey and others are up there.

Ridge is doing the warmup of the crowd.  He has a really cool leather jacket on.  He looks great.

Romney’s plane has landed and he is on his way to the event area.

Ridge says that Paul Ryan is one of the best decisions Romney could have made…and I agree.

I wanted Allen West for VP because that man is AWESOME…but I do agree that Ryan was even better.

Ridge is saying that Obama had four years to do something, and he didn’t…time to send him home.

521pm CST —

Pat Toomey takes the stage.  He says it is cold, but we are freezing for a reason.  Love it.

He’s talking about making Harry Reid Minority Leader and the crowd cheers.

“We are going to paint Pennsylvania red on Tuesday”…Toomey has a red jacket on and refer to its color.  I love a man who color coordinates for punchlines.

If you’ve never been to a campaign event, it’s fun to see people in person you don’t often get to hear speak.  If you ever have a chance to go to a rally, you should one day.  They’re fun.  You meet a lot of fun people too.

524pm CST –

Governor Tom Corbett takes the stage.

What’s FASCINATING is that a lot of people in the crowd are actually wearing purple.  That’s so wild to me.  Like, it’s a reflection of the state.  Purple…going into red.  Did they all color coordinate?

“Pennsylvania is in play!”

It is a massive crowd…enormous.

Size-queen Bathhouse Barry can choke on it.

Corbett is telling everyone why the state is in play…give children a better country than we are giving them right now.

Corbett is stretching it out a little…waiting for the Romney motorcade to arrive.  Saying that the Romney crowd tonight is bigger than the Obama crowd that assembled nearby for something.  This is near the Washington crossing area.  General Washington had a surprise victory and Pennsylvania will be a surprise victory too.

The Romneys are a family that believe in this country.  This is about the future of the United States.  It is about courage, doing the right thing even if it is not the popular thing.  Integrity, character, honesty, love of country.

Corbett had campaigned with Tagg and Ben Romney yesterday…when they talk, they talk about Mitt as their dad.  They tell the personal stories about Romney.  Like the little boy with cancer who wanted to meet the Governor and to see fireworks on fourth of July.  Mitt Romney arranged fireworks for the boy…but Massachusetts wouldn’t allow fireworks to be set off…so Romney took the boy to Maine and he got to see fireworks.

Telling story about when Romney’s colleagues’ daughter was kidnapped and held in chains he led the rescue effort to find her and bring her home.  She was going to be sold into sex slavery but Mitt Romney organized the effort to stop it.  I think there was an episode of Law & Order based on this (and would be surprised if there wasn’t).

Mitt Romney is kind of an action hero.

He’s actually awesome.

The crowd is chanting SEND HIM HOME, SEND HIM HOME and TWO MORE DAYS, TWO MORE DAYS.

THIS IS SO SMART!!!!!!  Tom Corbett is telling everyone to take pictures of the crowd and put it on Twitter and Facebook and email to media…because the media loves to lie and claim “hundreds showed up” when there were thousands.

How awesome…to take down the Ministry of Truth by regular people becoming the reports.

Corbett says the different governors compete to see who brings in the biggest crowd for rallies…and Pennsylvania has beat them all!

“Take those pictures, don’t let the media lie”.  Make Minitru look stupid.  Show people that Minitru lies.

Romney is on his way.

“I want them to hear you in Philadelphia and Trenton.  I want them to hear you in New York City.  I want them to hear you in Washington DC.”

AWESOMENESS!

535pm CST –

Looks like the motorcade will arrive at 545pm CST.  They are playing more music right now.

People look happy just bebopping and moving to the music.  It’s fun.

Giant:  VICTORY IN PENNSYLVANIA SIGN up above the crowd.

This is a larger crowd, by the way, than Bush drew in 2004 in the same location.  People are excited!

546pm CST — the bus pulls up, with Mitt and Anne waving in the front!

People go nuts.

Patriotic music swells, flags wave…and then the ROCKY theme starts up (a Pennsylvania favorite).

Ladies and gentlemen…our next first family.  They look great, wearing warm coats for the cold….

A warm Keystone State welcome to the next President of the United States and the next First Lady of the United States!

Chants of USA USA USA.

Romney:  What a Philadelphia welcome.  What a welcome.

Anne Romney speaks:  Thrill of a lifetime.  What a welcome.  Thank you so much.  This campaign is drawing to a close…what energy you have given us.  Finish this race strong.  We are so excited about Tuesday…and to be here in Pennsylvania.  I am standing with a man that I have stood with for 43 years of marriage.  In every circumstance I have seen him be exceptional in every way.  He will not fail.  We love this country and believe in America and this man will save this country and put it back on track.  The next President of the United States, Mitt Romney.

ROMNEY:  Thank you all.  Thank you Marshall Tucker band.  Talks about the hurricane.  Please donate to the Salvation Army or other groups to provide care in tough time.  Governor Christie is doing a great job and is giving his heart and passion.  Thank you Governor.  What a welcome.  Thank you so very much.  This audience and your voices are being heard all over the nation (even in Chicago!) and we will take back the White House because we will win Pennsylvania.

– This man looks presidential.  It will be nice watching him for four years.  He is competent.  That’s change I can believe in –

This is a campaign about our country and our future.  Stay at it all the way through victory on Tuesday. Look at the record of the people running for president.  Change can’t be measured in speeches, but achievements.  Candidate Obama promised a lot, but fell short.  Obama promised to be post-partisan, but he’s been most partisan.  He should have focused on creating jobs…but he focused on Obamacare and killed jobs.  9 million jobs short in the last report.  Unemployment is higher today than when Obama took office.  Obama raids medicare to pay for Obamacare.  American family pays $3000 more a year now than when Obama was elected.  Instead of bridging divides he makes them wider.

Obama has not lived up to promises to solve big problems.  I will.

Obama fell so short of what he promised. He cared more about the Left’s agenda than new jobs.  He declared war on coal and oil and gas.  He raised taxes.  He had an avalanche of new regulations.  Everything he did hurt the economy.  Americans are struggling to find a good job.  Middle class is being squeezed with lower pay and higher taxes.

Obama thinks more government is the answer…but more good jobs is really the answer. The question of the election comes down to “Do you want four more years like the last four or do you want real change?”.

SEND HIM HOME SEND HIM HOME SEND HIM HOME is chanted.

I promise change and achieved change.  I built a business.  I turned around other ones.  I turned around the Olympics.  In  my state I turned things around. That is why I am running for President.  I will change the course the nation is on.  I will see rising take-home pay.

– when the crowd chants his name, Romney actually blushes.  It embarrasses him.  He does not want this to be about him, but about the country.  He is actually very humble and it shows –

I will not waste time complaining about predecessor. From DAY ONE I will go to work to get Americans back to work.  Take advantage of energy resources:  coal, oil, gas, renewables.

Speed through KeyStone Pipeline.

Boost trade with Latin America and designate China as currency manipulator.

Make all have skills they need for good paying jobs.

Downpayment on fiscal sanity act.  Cut spending.  Take office on January 20th and take responsibility for the office.

Boost small business to fix problems holding our economy back.

Grant all states waivers for Obamacare to begin its repeal.

For first time in four years, people will know that the President of the United States likes them and will bring business opportunities.

Obama has ignored, blamed, and attacked people in Congress.  That freezes the economy.  Obama can’t change Washington from the inside, so let’s send him home to get a chance to do it from the outside.

I am going to work with Republicans and Democrats and find the good ones who care about the country.

Change course on energy.

Help with prices at pump.

Achieve North American energy independence in 8 years.

Care about small business.

– incidentally…no TelePrompTer…Romney speaks extemporaneously –

603pm CST –

Not just the large size of the crowds, but the depth of your convictions.  I learned as Governor that best achievements are shared achievements. I will conduct myself with respect for all and represent one nation, not one party.

USA USA USA is chanted.

Obama has tried claiming the last four years have been a success.  His plan is to do all the things over again:  stimulus, Obamacare, taxes.  This will not lead to recovery or success.  Obama will hurt the military.  We could have more recession.  Obama told his supporters to vote for REVENGE.

I ask you to vote for love of country instead.

WILD CHEERS

Together we will lead America to a better place. We are two days away from a new beginning.  I have an unshakeable faith in the American spirit.

With the right leadership, America will come roaring back.

We are Americans.  We can do anything.

The only thing we are lacking is better leadership and that’s why we have elections.

You saw the differences at the debates.  He says it has to be this way and I say it can’t stay this way. He has excuses and I have a plan.

We won’t settle.  We have a dream.  A better America.  A better destiny.

TWO MORE DAYS and we will rebuild our country.

Confident we will be on a solid path and that college kids will find better jobs.

–  Romney tells story about a troop that had sent a flag to the Challenger flight and it was recovered after the disaster and the flag was perfectly unharmed…and he saw the flag somewhere and got to touch it.

Talking about America the Beautiful song…honors veterans of armed forces to be recognized.

– watching him talk is watching THE PRESIDENT –

Take back America. We love you Pennsylvania.  THANK YOU!

— Romney then goes to wave and shake hands and the crowd cheers.  Flashbulbs on cameras pop like fireworks as real fireworks light up the sky.  Flags wave.  People are smiling.  Many hold out their hands to touch the next president.  Romney is swarmed as he tries to leave.

“God Bless you”, people shout.  ”THANK YOU MITT ROMNEY!” they yell.

– NOTE: The Secret Service is not treating him like a candidate.  They are so tight in formation around him because he is the next President.  They never were like this with McCain.  The way they are scanning the crowd and watching him is like they do with a sitting president, not a candidate.

Everyone knows what’s going to happen Tuesday.

 What think you?

Will be watching his concession speech with pop corn.

But please make it a landslide loss, get to work everyone, do not let up, I need to watch Obama lose. I need to see Romney win, I need to watch MSNBC go nuts.

The Only Two Polls Worth Watching Can Bring Us Peace:
Poll 1: Gallup Daily Tracking: Started out Oct with both in 48-49% range. For three weeks though Romney has steadily climbed, now averaging 51%, O at 45-46% with a few 47% days.
Poll 2: Historical Presidential Results: Gallup is usually within a point or 2 of the final. A lot are not close. Of the close ones, only a couple were off by more than a little. In 2000 Bush was ahead by 2 full points but Gore scored slightly higher on Election Day. Reagan was ahead by 3 but won by 9 in 1980. The last time one with a 3+ lead lost was Dewey, who was up by 5 in 1948 but lost by 4. Romney sounds like Reagan, and Obama ain’t no Truman.

My heart was pounding & I was moved to tears by my next President’s speech. My gosh, he does love his country. You can see it in his eyes whenever he speaks about the American Dream, our aspirations, our love of each other. I swear I think he got choked up a few times & had a tough time speaking.

I especially loved when he quoted “America the Beautiful” part of vs.3: “O beautiful for heroes proved In liberating strife, Who more than self their country loved, And mercy more than life!” My dear hubby served our country for almost 10 years & put his life on the line many times in Vietnam. Now, we need to be heroes in our strife right now.

America will be better, we have always strive to be better. Tribulation tends to bring out the strength & goodness in us.

      I BELIEVE IN AMERICA!!!

Kevin, you really know your home state and your home town and the mindset of Ohio. Obama only drew a crowd of 4000 in Cleveland compared to 80,000 in 2008. And some people held up signs as his motorcade passed asking,” What are you hiding about Benghazi?” You said you can only fool Ohioans once and then they dont buy the snake oil ever again. Good for Ohio! You said Pa. will find Romney, a Republican they can vote for. I am sure you will confirm this again tonight after his speech.

I would love to know how you make the macaroni and cheese with white cheddar, bacon and chicken. Sounds delicious! You have me really wanting one of these lasagna pans!

On an election note, I found it interesting that you noted the Secret Service formation for Romney as what they do for a President, not just a candidate. You really do have so much knowledge to share with your readers.

And Creepy Crowley inadvertently called Romney President Romney today!!!

That would be a fun, relaxing, nonpolitical thing to write for Saturday.

That will be my treat to everyone who is out there helping Romney/Ryan! You can have all my recipes then!

I was thinking of going to Honeybaked and having a Hillbuzz-themed dinner in honor of all the uplifting moral support I’ve found here. Ham since that’s a treat for you, and a wild rice pilaf in honor of the Tamminator’s home state.

There was a dessert Justin really likes you mentioned one time…I can’t remember any particulars except it sounded delicious. If you could post a dessert along with the lasagna pan recipes that would be great, and my 3 future Republican voters would thank you.

That’s called projection. It’s a psychology term. Basically a defense mechanism that means a person will try to deflect attention away from the things that he is doing by blaming it on someone else. Case in point, sign theft and decal mutilation. The dems have been projecting a lot here lately. ;)

We are on the verge of a very good thing, Americans rediscovering themselves.

In the context of government and politics, the concept of “leadership” is problematic for conservatives. For every good leader, there are 10 or more who reflect the worst of human nature. The worst of human nature succeeds too often, but most especially in politics, which perversely rewards astute, amoral and immoral egotism.

The essence of non-Leftist thinking is the importance of personal morality, meaning an empathetic regard for other, actual, human beings.

The essence of Leftist thinking is the highly egotistic and abstract posturing of concern for others, always, always in service to the exercise of punitive government power, based upon the disguised “principle” that the ends justify any means. In execution, the means (coercion and hatred for others) always submerges the ostensible ends.

That’s because the means are the actual point, unknown even to the clueless, unaware Leftist, drowned in the gratification of exercising power over others, or the thought of exercising power.

There are a slew of Leftist politicians. Politics is their element.

Leftists like Hitler, Mao, Stalin, Obama, are never successful, other than gaining power over others. Their thinking excludes success beneficial to everyone.

Conservatives and non-Leftists navigate a more subtle path in politics.

A Lincoln, a Churchill, a Reagan, a Thatcher, a JP II, must transcend the gritty reality of politics while dealing with it.

Romney is that sort of man. He understands and empathizes with people as they are, not primarily as he wants them to be despite themselves.

Maybe things are too big for Mitt Romney, too far gone.

But Americans are an exceptional people, and Romney seems to be the exceptional man who can start to put things right.

Wanted to give you a real quick Ground Report from northeastern PA.

Tonight I had to go up to the Luzerne Victory Center in Wilkes-Barre to get my packet for the Election Day Task Force. Well, both the Romney/Ryan HQ and the OFA HQ are on the same street, maybe a 2 blocks apart.

Well, the RRHQ was hopping. Packed with people making calls, getting their packets for election day, a lot of chaos, a lot of people, a lot of energy.

As I was leaving, I had to double back around back down the block, and I noticed the OFA HQ for the first time…it was dead. I think I spotted all of 1 person inside. No volunteers manning the phones. Nothing. Nobody.

So much for that great OFA ground game. The RRHQ felt like the lockerroom of a winning team. The OFA HQ looked abandoned.

(Now, I’m going to go back and read this awesome Live Transcript of Mitt’s PA appearance.)

Any amount of extra votes for Romney in the red areas of the state will help knock down the Philly vote. So if the red areas get redder in 2012, then that will help Romney have a better chance to take the state.

Yup, Romney completely fooled the Obama campaign. He convinced them that they had driven him out of Pennsylvania like a dog with his tail between his legs, when really the governor continued to stealthy build their ground game.

Obama’s campaign diverted their resources and now their scrambling to catch-up, but they have Michigan, Minnesota, and other battle fronts to cover. They’re not read to turn the spigot on and they won’t be ready in two days. Romney got them with their pants down.

This commenter on Battleground said it best:

“Obama likely has some ground game in Wisconsin, but can it match the ground game that is intact from Walker’s win? He dismantled his PA ground game and has to try to put it all back together. He likely doesn’t have much of a ground game in Minnesota or Michigan. Apparently PA’s Governor has fairly covertly constructed a ground game for Romney over the last six months in case PA came into play. Then there’s the news of Chicago dropping off in early voting by 320,000. This is the heart of Obamaland and turnout is down by 57%.”

Romney avoided Pennsylvania and acted like it was not in play. Obama’s group fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Now they realize they’ve made a HUGE mistake. They’re not ready to defend Pennsylvania. Not ready at all and the spigot is off.

    hi Kevin and Tamminator

long time lurker here, found your sight when you, Kevin, wrote about G. Bush, cried like a baby!

Ground report from Iowa: Got up at 04:00 to drive 2 hours to Des Moines to see Mitt Romney! The doors opened at 07:30 for an 09:30 event. Great crowd, the venue was full when he arrived, held probably 5000. Don’t know if anyone was turned away. Energy was high, volume was higher! The Oakridge Boys were surprise entertainment, sang a couple of songs “American Made” and of course “Elvira”. Then one of them told us that they were asked to sing the National Anthem at the open of the RNC but the hurricane canceled first day events. The next day, word got to Mitt that they were still there and Mitt sent someone to ask if they would stay and sing “Amazing Grace”, they were touched by that and did so. He commented, paraphrasing- “isn’t it great to have an administration, yes- I said administration, who loves God?’ Crowd goes wild and then they sang “Amazing Grace” Beautiful, deep. State R. candidates and R. pols. spoke and the Gov. introduced our next pres. Mitt Romney! Crowd goes wild again. He and the others had people fired up throughout the event! Yes, we were given the “thundersticks”. The whole event was great! Well worth going to! One family had their kids dressed in red t-shirts each with their own letter R O M N E and Y, the Y was considerably shorter than his siblings. At the end Mitt had them up on the walk way taking pictures with them, too cute! When Mitt was leaving the room, he did something that impressed me, there were bleachers next to the exit and there was a little kid reaching his hand down to high five Mitt and he actually Jumped up to make contact with that kids hand! So simple, yet classy, human…Americana! Thunder and Grace, together….Change IS on the way!

I just got back from the rally myself, and I just have to saw that I was in awe. I have never seen a crowd like that, granted I was too young to really appreciate any elections prior to 2000.

It was just a sea of people, the crowd was electric. Bush had a rally at the same location in 2004, and it was NOTHING like this was.

Seeing Romney on stage was just amazing, and I like many others was Anybody But Romney during the primaries. He seemed presidential, like he already was in office. He was so confident and commanding, I think he already knows he’s going to win.

I was secretly hoping this morning that we would be close to the numbers that were in Ohio yesterday, when Corbett announced we surpassed 30,000 everybody went wild! TWO MORE DAYS!

BTW- I didn’t think anyone didn’t know who the Marshall Tucker Band was. Check them out for some good solid music. Skynyrd, MT, Allman Bros. Its all good.

BTW, Fineman looked and sounded defeated as Adler did earlier. They know. Mr Ed tried to get them to advance the idea that BO will lose because of “voter suppression,” but neither would commit.

MSNBC is showing people who are early voters in Florida, suggesting they are there for BO.

But not one fact has been given to suggest the early voters are not there for Romney.

    Hilarious.

That is an admission of defeat. Wow.

BO has lost. That is the sole reason why MSNBC is EXCLUSIVELY reporting on “voter suppression.”

Watch for this emphasis on this soviet-style reporting on “voter suppression” as part of the Leftist manipulation of reality.

Kevin, I went ahead and ordered the lasagna pan a few minutes ago because you love it so much and I trust your judgment. But I’m not much of a cook, so I’m not sure yet what I’ll be using it for when I get it. Please do a post after the election, when we can all breathe and relax a bit, with recipes and ideas for using the pan.

Thank you again for all you do! I just watched some idiots on fox acting like the race would be so tight and could go either way, so I had to come back here for some sanity. You’re right about how bad the fear porn is for people. I have been really tense and snippy with my husband and kids because I am so desperate for this election to be over and for Mitt Romney (and hopefully Scott Brown and Sean Bielat here in MA) to win and win big enough to overcome all the fraud and dirty tricks of the dems and Minitru. I’m lucky I am relatively young and healthy — I keep thinking how tough it would be to go through this for someone older or in poor health. I really do think that a Romney win will do a lot to help me and so many others to feel much healthier physically and mentally. The last 4 years I have felt like we are under siege all the time.

      Julia –

      That’s so sweet.

I will write up how I make lasagna. It’s SO EASY and that pan makes it come out perfectly.

I also used it to bake cakes…so I can make three different kinds at once. I made pretzel bread in the pan too (three loaves since there are three compartments!).

The best part is that it is a dream to clean. So easy. No scrubbing…it just cleans perfectly in one go. I love it.

Maybe the Saturday after the election I will have time to write up my recipes. Some people have asked for my orange chicken one too so I will do an article with all of Justin’s favorites I make for him.

It’s really nice of you to ask!

I made homemade meat sauce yesterday, and here is my plan for the first use: 1) traditional lasagna; 2) roasted vegetable lasagna with alfredo sauce; 3) traditional lasagna with mushrooms. My husband is deathly allergic to mushrooms, so being able to make that version for myself and protect him is an exciting prospect. I have a cabinet full of all sorts of specialty pans and more than 325 cookbooks; so, I don’t know why I never knew about this pan. Thanks, Kevin!!

Pork chops in the crock pot always turn out amazing. They get fall-apart tender and stay fairly juicy depending on what you use for your liquid. My favorites get a light breading (with a hint of garlic salt and dry mustard powder for a kick), seared in a hot pan and then put into the crock with a little bit of chicken broth. They are delicious!

After the election, I am going to look into getting a crock pot. So many people I like have been talking about them. I resisted before because I always have used the oven, but the oven does not get things fall-apart tender very often. Like, one out of every four pot roasts I make turn out like that…even though I do the same thing every time. Sometimes it turns out fall-apart tender…but most times it ends up a little tough and chewy.

So I think it might be time to go the crock pot route after the election.

You will laugh, but to celebrate Romney’s win I’m going to buy a Chicago Metallic roasting pan I’ve been wanting…and then in the future whenever I use it I’m going to think, “This is the pan I bought the night Romney won the election!”. So every time I make something with it I will smile. Maybe I will get a crock pot instead.

The cakes turn out really well. And the cleanup is really easy. I love that pan.

What’s fun about it is that I sit here and think of all sorts of new things to do with it, because I love the novelty of being able to make three different variations of something at the same time. I can also make three different kinds of things at once with it…like roast potatoes, carrots, and other vegetables in separate compartments with different flavorings on each. That’s been really fun to do.

What’s so funny is that some people are all goo-goo over an iPad or a bigscreen tee-vee or whatever…and I am just so happy with that lasagna pan for under $20. I love that thing!

Back about 15 minutes ago from the rally. It was amazing, Apologies in advance if I write too much…

We left our house in Philly around 2:45. Hit traffic coming up to the exit– a long line on the shoulder at 3:10– and I looked at the clock because I wanted to give an accurate report here. From that moment, until we passed security– 2 hours and 20 minutes. We got in around 5:30. TSA was manning the checkpoints. Had to hand over, turned on phone, camera, any bags, wallets, they took the little ones; stuffed toys and binoculars to check. Of course both of the adults and the teen in our group set off the metal detector. The crowds were massive– in front and behind us. We were very far back when we finally got in.

Crowd was very upbeat. Some of the conversations we heard while waiting was interesting. One snippet– from a middle aged (I know– that’s me now) well dressed woman– “I can’t stand Obama. Everything he says is a lie. I’m a Jew, and I can’t understand how any Jew could vote for this man…” There were a lot of women in the crowd– groups of them with no men. So much for the War on Women thing… Where we were standing– near the crane with the big flag (not the one between the bleachers) we were surrounded by college aged people– a bunch of them 18-25 or so. One cute young gay guy with his friend girl trying to find a way to get closer. They were arguing about it– she was saying, “You’re going to piss people off, just stay here.”

We also saw three young Orthodox Jewish guys– with the sidelocks and beard (two were really cute) going in ahead of us.

The speeches were good– during Ridge’s bit there was a medical emergency in front and they had to take someone out. Corbett was historical– and I had no idea how funny he was. He did his bit, then was saying how, “well he’s not here, so I’m going to have to stretch this out” sort of thing and did it. He said something about, “you’ll give me the signal, right? Is it this– with the arms out?” And he talked, and then said suddenly, “He’s here– his bus just drove by.” And the guy next to me–we had been doing friendly/snarky commentary throughout (and not to get ethnic– but he was also Jewish– and between him and me– it was like Mel Brooks on Carson back in the day) “What, the bus went by, he’s not stopping?” That’s the way the crowd was near us– upbeat, laughing, positive.

Mr O had to take the little ones out before Mitt arrived– they were hungry and had to pee. They waited in the back of the field. We met up with them as his speech was finishing. Mr smartly bought hot dogs (all they had) for Oldest Son and me. We beat it for the car (parking was in the huge office park across the street) and were in the parking lot for a half hour (lucky us we were in the back of the lot and near an exit). As we drove down I-95 south back to the city we could see a sea of red taillights– people trying to get out of the lot.

My pictures and video are pointless. Forgot the SD card in my phone– and the card in the camera quickly ran out and I couldn’t delete old photos fast enough.

But the atmosphere was great. People were positive and friendly, joking. When we came up to security the person taking the tickets said her scanner was overloaded and they had 27,000. The last time I was in a crowd that big was back in the mid ’80s at a Cure concert.

I’m hoping Senator Toomey is right, and PA goes red.

Maddow then devotes a ridiculous absurd hit piece on Ryan, concluding he wants to run for president in 2016.

Then Maddow says Sarah Palin is currently looking to run for president. Wow.

I am exhilarated and fascinated watching Rachel Maddow on MSNBC right now.

She just had on pathetic hack Steve Schmidt, McCain’s Palin hater and leftist sympathizer, and tried to get him to agree that Paul Ryan’s behavior and circumstances recently meant Ryan was opposed to Romney and realized Romney was a loser.

Even Schmidt would not agree to that.

Now Maddow returns to the Colorado Republican secretary of state with a bizarre story about how he was suppressing BO votes.

ALERT: this is the pre-spin for BO’s defeat. They know it.

The amoral and immoral aspect of this is the Leftist determination to destroy America. Civil society is not a concern for Leftists. They want destruction.

And it is irrelevant (or maybe it is) how the rich and privileged favor, and are, the Left.

We’re in Colorado and actively working with Douglas County Republicans and Project ORCA on Tuesday. My husband has known Scott Gessler, our CO Secretary of State for a while. He is an honest, hard-working, God-fearing, America-loving patriot. He is not a crook. And, (as President-Elect Romney would say), “oh, by the way….” it is the job of the state-level Secretary of State to determine how voting in his state “will work.”

Yes, Ms. Maddow is DUMB, DUMB, DUMB when it comes to politics. She thinks she is SMART, SMART, SMART because she has a Doctor of Philosophy from Oxford University – she is a Stanford grad and Rhodes Scholar, which is usually reserved for the best and brightest. Her thesis was titled “HIV/AIDS and Health Care Reform in British and American Prisons.” She fell into the pundit chair during the ’08 election – in Denver, actually. I cannot listen to her for more than about five seconds without running, screaming from the room.

Again, I am sorry to sound so insistent.

I have never watched MSNBC before tonight, and did so because Kevin and others said they were going to watch them election day.

But I have been watching tonight and am so happy.

They keep showing the Bill Clinton snubbish handshake today with BO, which reminded me so intensely of Kennedy’s handshake snubbing of Carter on the convention stage years ago.

I would not be surprised if Clinton was deliberately reprising Kennedy’s handshake snub of Carter; Clinton is that savvy.

Howard Dean was just on. Watch him and guess what he really thinks.

As an agnostic, I thank God our country has a chance at prosperous, civil society again.

Don’t be sorry. I for one am thrilled with your MSNBC report. They’re kind of like poisonous reptiles over there…you want to keep them alive (on the air) so you can study them but you don’t really want to get too close. I’m planning on watching some on Tuesday, but just can’t bring myself to turn it on before then. Your reports are fascinating! Keep them up, please….I love seeing how delusional they’re becoming!

Kevin, I have two questions for you. As far as the first one, if you have answered this question on one of your previous articles I apologize, I’m way behind (I can’t keep up with you :) … How do we interpret when someone like Sean Hannity (who is pro Mitt) talks about the polls being tight?

My second question is…. will any link that is on your site give you a credit/advertising fee. I recently visited a certain site and now I see them advertising on your right bar. If you will get credit for it, I want to use your link.

      Lucky –

      1. Hannity is a good guy. But all of them in the news business (and it is a business) would rather be wrong by saying “it’s close” then go on a limb and say Romney will win big and then he doesn’t’. So Hannity is afraid of being mocked by the Left of of having guys like Ace at Ace of Spades made at him for “getting our hopes up and now we are sad! Wahhhhh!”. The thing is, no one will be made at Hannity for saying “it’s close” and thin it’s a big ‘surprise landslide’. I’ll just tell you it’s going to be a landslide because I have no career ambitions and I don’t care about upsetting any diaper-babies in the conservative writing world. I sure don’t care about the Left saying mean things about me. Does it make sense if I just say that it really comes down to these guys treating everything they say with an eye to how it affects their career and not necessarily to how true it might be? But Hannity is a good guy, let’s remember that. He just wants to avoid any career pitfalls by going on a limb…and he also wants to cover a “surprise landslide” story because that will be big ratings.

      2. if you use any link on HB you see to Amazon (so look to your right and see the Amazon link with the bee on it right at the top…or the other box you can search for stuff in…or the lower one with the books on it) and then you go to Amazon and buy things, we’ll get an ad fee for referring you. Which costs you nothing but generates a little bit to help cover our server costs, which his nice. Everything helps If you click on any other ad you see (there are two big ad boxes) and go to whatever site is being advertised that helps too. It helps even more if you buy something from that ad or donate to a campaign or whatever it is advertising. We don’t control what pops up in there, it’s through an ad service. I think it tailors the ads to things in your browser history cookies. So, for instance, if I was looking up Disney info on jobs for Justin and then I went to HB, there would be ads for Disney World in the ad space. So the computer knows I was just at a Disney site and wants to show me more Disney stuff.

      make sense?

And I really appreciate your shopping on Amazon through us. That is very nice of you. Anything to help defray the server bills is such a blessing.

Have a nice Sunday night and I look forward to all the treasures you will be providing us tomorrow. I need to go buy a bottle of champagne and pie for Tuesday night. Thank you for all your hard work – we conservatives are all in your debt.

No, I am not exaggerating or misleading. I mean literally, as in literally, not as in figuratively literally.

Tonight on Facebook, my best friend posted a pic of her holding an R/R sign next to a cutout of Mitt. Some nasty ex co-worker of hers posted a rude reply saying she didn’t understand how a smart woman like my friend who has daughters could vote for Romney b/c he wanted to take us back to the ’50′s.

I started to type up a nasty response back to her in defense of my BFF, but I decided to use ridicule instead. I posted “Wow, is Romney gonna give us all time machines so we can “go back to the ’50′s”? Sweet! Can’t wait to get mine, b/c I never got my magical unicorn that Obama promised last time…”. Romney just has to win. My son has always planned to apply to the AF Academy. He will graduate in 2015. He has been refining his list and it’s down to MIT, CalTech, Stanford, Rice,UT or the Air Force.
He won’t apply if barry gets re-elected saying he just couldn’t serve with barry as CinC.
He’s in 10th grade now and has gotten perfect scores on SAT Math II and is up to 2340 on SAT. He also plays Clarinet in youth symphony and this year, it working to make all-state. He also plays piano and does UIL and Science Bowl and Mu Alpha Theta competitions. He runs also.
The problem we have, his school has no organized sports teams and the AF places a high value on that. His school doesn’t allow much time for sports as they are a high achieiving Science/Math magnet school. We were hoping the music and running would make up for that lack of a team sport.
So, for me, this election is personal. If he doesn’t apply, we will end up regretting it. So Romney has to win.
Sorry for ranting. Guess I needed to get it off my chest.

Was at the Mitt & Ann Romney rally in Denver last night, OMG. ELECTRIC, ENTHUSIASM PLUS, ENERGIZING.. UNSTOPPABLE. We got there at 3p, was lucky enough to have my husband drop me off, with a friend and our daughters(14 years old). They handed out the blow up things, that you clap together, had huge letters you could see from the stage, COLORADO HEARTS ROMNEY/RYAN, handing out flags. Showing videos, great one that was Democrat voting for Romney.. A couple of local candidates, the lead singer from Alabama, EXCELLENT.. Then Mitt & Ann, Ann said a few words, crowd when crazy, then when Mitt spoke, was even louder(18,000).. When it was over, everyone filed out, no shoving, one guy next to me, couldn’t believe how orderly it was. There were children, teens, 20′s up to 80′s. Three boys were walking behind us as we were leaving, 17-18 year olds or so, cowboys, big cowboy hats, must have been on the stage. One of the boys was on the phone, talking to his Mom, was so excited, got to shake hands with the Alabama lead singer, then shook the other hand with Mitt Romney, said he wasn’t going to be able to wash his hands.. THought it was so cute.
FYI to Kevin. Was there with a secret service agent’s wife. She said that Biden plays golf 4 days a week, alot with Kerry. Also, they think that Bill Clinton has the 1st signs of Alzheimers..

    Dearest Kevin and hillbuzzers,

We drove an hour from NJ to attend the PA rally! It was amazing! The energy was insane! People are so fed up with Obama. So many young voters, it was just so energizing. Everyone was nice, and since we were being so laid back, a nice Bucks County volunteer lady got us into the VIP seats. I think she felt bad for my 8 year old…

Frozen to my core from the wind, but warm heart from all the Romney Ryan love!

Many of communities without power are massive public housing complexes in Red Hook, Brooklyn and Coney Island. There is no way these “0bamaphone” Ladies and Gents will walk up and down 20 flights of stairs to vote.

Despite inaccurate reporting, not all of Financial District power on either. Skyscrapers closest to East RIver (Water Street) have no power.

I was in France just before the 2008 election, and every church I went into (as you do!) I lit a candle for my late Catholic grandmother, and one in prayer that Obama would be defeated. But even as I sent up my prayer, the churning pit of my stomach told me he’d win. I still lit the candles but I just knew, somehow. Earlier this year I was in Italy, and every church I went into (as you do!) I lit a candle for my late Catholic grandmother and one in prayer that Obama would be defeated. And this time, I felt such peace, such serenity, in the sure belief that this time he’d lose … I hope it wasn’t wishful thinking. I don’t think it was.

But here’s what I do think. I think that even though Romney wins, Obama doesn’t concede. I think he will drag it out and claim GOP voter fraud and intimidation, he’ll challenge everything, he’ll drag in the UN … he’ll pull every trick in the book to try and stay in power. (And that includes cheating of his own. I think you can take that to the bank.) I don’t think he’ll win, mind you, in cheating or claiming the GOP cheated. Romney is too smart to get caught like that, he and Reibus have played a flawless game against the most biased and corrupt media in the history of the world. You don’t get to succeed in business at his level by being stupid. But I just can’t see Obama taking his defeat with grace. He wouldn’t know what grace was if it bit him in the ass.

Not meaning to be an eeyore, so I’m sorry if that’s the vibe. I just have no faith that the spiritually bankrupt O and his spiritually bankrupt soul sister ValJar will let this go without pulling every cornered rabid animal trick in the book. However, I do pray I’m wrong.

To finish, I’ll add a huge thank you to you, Kevin, for your courage and steadfastness in the face of personal hardship and persecution by people who are, I truly believe, evil. God bless.

      No, Obama will go.

He has his house and a life of luxury to live without the work. It’s Jarrett who will be pissed.

Obama will do what he can to screw the US over further, but I think he’s mainly interested in enjoying his soon-to-be “early” retirement and to live it up in Hawaii.

We keep thinking of Obama as the one clinging to power and that’s wrong. Obama is doing what he’s told and the people around him are trying to get him to cling to power.

If Obama was like Clinton and really wanted to stay in power we would have seen him doing more. Taking steps to outwit his opponent, practice for his debates, and really work to win people over.

All I see is a man going through the motions and doing as he’s told. The people around him hope that’ll be enough, but even they can’t get him to work.

Obama may want power, but he doesn’t want to truly work for it and never has. He’ll take his get-out-of-jail free card and go.

I agree about how 0bama and Valerie Jarrett will react. But the Democratic Party infrastructure will not support a protracted fight if it is evident that Romney won — the larger the victory the less they will support 0bama challenge — for the simple fact that they will want to spend their energy and assets preserving the Party for all the other officeholders and will be happy to write off 0bama for how he single-handedly destroyed their power base by caring only about two things: (1) self-aggrandizement such as hobnobbing with celebs, living the “high life” and spending on himself and family like a drunken sailor; and (2) wealth distribution (the only part of his job he has any interest in). The Democratic Party brand has taken a hit (socialist party animals) that will make them toxic for decades.

I was there in PA yesterday with my teen daughter. It was an AMAZING experience. I am from NJ, but only a 30 minute drive from the venue the Romney rally was held yesterday. How could I not go?!

We got there just before 2 pm – it was already crowded, but we only had about maybe 750 or so people in front of us, on the way to the security tents. The atmosphere was party-like, everyone was excited, happy, talking with great animation to those around
them, friends and strangers alike. All around me I heard people discussing topics like Benghazi, PA voter IDs, how they liked Mitt Romney, what they thought his chances of winning were (most were pretty positive) and other things I never get to hear talked about in real life, living in leftist land NJ, only get to read about on the political websites I visit.

People all seemed very well informed about the issues, what is at stake if Obama wins – it was a refreshing change for me.

On the way in, we ended up talking to a Jewish gentleman there with his two young teen daughters. His one daughter was wearing a button that said “Obama … oy vey!” with the Obama circle logo – someone in the crowd had been giving them out, was my understanding. We got to talking about why he supported Mitt Romney and how frustrated he was with fellow Jewish friends and family who support Obama. His hot button issue was Israel. You could hear the emotion in his voice when he talked about how much it hurt him that fellow Jews would support a man who hates Israel and does absolutely nothing to support it, who was so disrespectful to Netanyahu, etc. He also had moved to PA from NJ and was talking about how much easier it was to buy a gun, have a license to carry and other freedoms we don’t have in the “Garden State”.

They were not supposed to let people in until 2:30, but I was glad we came earlier because about 2:30 the pace of arrivals picked up a lot and before we knew it, the security staging area was packed and the line stretched at least a mile back to the main road. We finally got through security check about 3:15 pm or so and joined the throng headed toward the podium where Mitt Romney would speak. We were about 50 feet back and slightly to the left (our left!) of the podium. Very good visibility except that we had a few very tall people right in front of us … we did have to keep leaning left or right to avoid them, but once we did, our view was clear! lol.

It was much colder than we hoped, but the crowd packed together helped. Very quickly, we could not see behind us anymore as there were so many people. Holding my camera up, I could still see the line stretching out down the road 4 or 5 people wide, practically to the intersection, way down the road!

People just kept pouring in. The event was supposed to start at 5:30 pm, but Mitt’s plane was delayed, we heard through the talk in the crowd around us – and then some of the local and state speakers also told us the same thing. They kept talking, trying to keep us entertained and gave updates on where Mitt was … his plane had landed, he was on the bus, he was on his way, etc. The Marshall Tucker Band was the live entertainment and they were very good. Their song, Can’t You See, they had us change the words from:
Can’t you see, can’t you see
What that woman, she been doin’ to me
Can’t you see, can’t you see
What that woman, she been doin’ to me!
    to:
Can’t you see, can’t you see
What Obama, he been doin’ to me
Can’t you see, can’t you see
What Obama, he been doin’ to me!
