Leftist Mayor Called Out for Occupooper Hypocracy; Responds by Auditing TEA PARTY

Posted on November 29, 2011 by Kathleen Gee // Alinsky Methods, Hypocrisy, The Left

The administration of Mayor Dwight C. Jones has given the Richmond, Virginia OccuPoopers free reign in a city park called Kanawha Plaza. Since starting their illegal occupation in mid-October, taxpayers of Richmond have provided the OccuPoopers with portable toilets, trash pickup, and other services worth at least $7,000.

Costs of additional police, helicopter (!?) and incarcerations would probably push this total into the tens of thousands of dollars. The administration had declined to enforce a number of laws on its books that require permits for events on City property, and forbid sleeping overnight in parks.

Naturally, the law-abiding (and likely neat and tidy) members of the Richmond Tea Party had paid for permits for all of their previous Kanawha Plaza rallies. They paid over $10,000 for portable toilets, permits, police protection, and all the other costs associated with using the Plaza for a pubic event. And they (bizarrely) thought that all groups using City property should have to actually follow the law.

The OccuPoop hit the fan when Richmond Tea Party spokeswoman Colleen Owens pointed out the discriminatory treatment the OccuPoopers were receiving at the expense of the taxpayers of Richmond. “The city of Richmond is allowing Occupy Richmond to blatantly break the law day after day while forcing other groups to strictly comply,” Ms. Owens said in a press release that landed her on Neil Cavuto’s show on Fox News.

But apparently it was the invoice the Tea Party submitted to the City of Richmond that really got the mayor’s boxers in a bunch. Yes, the Tea Party folks invoiced the city to get a refund of all the money they had paid to use the park.

So, in a completely non-shocking move, the Leftist mayor of Richmond, Virginia has responded to the Tea Party’s call for equal treatment by auditing the Tea Party.

Needless to say, OccuPoop Richmond and Mayor Jones have earned major Down Twinkles from HillBuzz.org over this blatantly unfair treatment.

Not surprising. The Urban Elite who control our nation's donut holes have been running them as 3rd world kleptocracies for years. Guess which group is a bigger threat to stem the torrent of federal, state and local tax dollars which sustains their fiefdoms?

At the risk of irritating feminists…Man Up, Tea Partiers. At further risk of irritating feminists, "Whatever Tea Partiers do, they must do twice as well as Occupiers to be thought half as good. Luckily, this is not difficult.”

    And sue the bastidges!!

Don't know how well he's done as a mayor outside of this decision but this one doesn't fill me with confidence that he's been a good one for the city of Richmond. If he hasn't been a good mayor then maybe this will be what's needed to give his opponent an edge in the next election. The Tea Party has already been effective on the national level so winning a local election ought not to be too hard for them.

I read about this yesterday, and couldn't believe it. Leftist Liberals truly are the most dishonest and despicable "human" beings on the planet. Their actions actually do give validity to the the idea that Lefitst Liberalism really is a mental disorder. And with every move they make, they push more good Americans further away from them and their causes.

TIme to start a Cynthia Carr Watch. Even if she gets thrown under the bus, she'll no doubt soon be on the Helen Jones-Kelley arc, because that's how the professional bureaucrat class rolls. It may be in a different city or state, but she'll be rewarded for her efforts, whether she acted independently or she's taking a hit for a craven, lying mayor.

The mayor has already denied that they knew anything about the audit sent to the Tea Party. Just read it on FN website. I've already sent them an email expressing outrage over this.

This reminds me of an episode in San Francisco a few years ago when a group (may have been the NRA) not popular with the "progressive" cabal of San Francisco politics prevented this group from holding a convention in a city operated convention center. Former SF supervisor mark Leno proudly proclaimed to the news cameras that "San Francisco values" prevailed. My reaction to hearing that was that San Francisco values means denying to disfavored groups under color of government authority the first amendment rights to freedom of speech and freedom of assembly.

The mayor's office needs to be inundated with email and faxes letting him know that people are furious over this action. They also need to tell him to pay the money already paid by the TEA movement.

Then the TEA Party need to go occupy City Hall.

I think a counter-suit, along the lines of "equal protection", would be in order. Is there a defense fund?
