Is the USA really being governed according to the dreams of a Luo tribesman from the ’50s?
The Roots of Obama's Rage by Dinesh D’Souza is a compelling narrative about the life events which may have shaped the ideology of Barack Obama.
The book details how Obama’s childhood shaped the man today, and how his father – despite being largely absent – influenced young Barack back then, and influences him still. It discusses the nature of the world during Obama’s youth — namely, that he grew up viewing things through the lens of bitter anti-colonialism, and that forever shaped his world-view.
The author’s primary thesis is that Obama views the USA as a colonial power, consuming too much of the world’s resources, imposing its will across the globe, and generally exploiting the third world for its own gain. D’Souza’s subsequently believes that the guiding principle of Obama’s governance is reducing the institutional power and influence of the United States of America.
D’Souza writes:
[Anti-colonialism] is the moral and intellectual foundation of his ideology. In a sense, I am saying nothing more than what Obama himself says: that his father’s dream has become his dream. It is a dream that, as president, he is imposing with a vengeance on America and the world.
In essence, the book argues that “[the] most powerful country in the world is being governed according to the dreams of a Luo tribesman of the 1950s – a polygamist who abandoned his wives, drank himself into stupors… [an] inebriated African socialist, who raged against the world…”
Having read a few other books on Obama, including Michelle Malkin’s excellent Culture of Corruption, I feel D’Souza’s book ranks right up there. Despite a stretch here or there, his theory seems entirely plausible — even likely. Beyond that, it is a fascinating read for someone who enjoys (as I do) theorizing on the true, inner motivations of our 44th President.
Top Takeways from Reading The Roots of Obama's Rage
- The main motivations that drive the real Barack Obama
- Why Obama disrespects our allies, was rude to PM Gordon Brown, and returned the White House Churchill bust
- The real definition of Obama’s “fundamental change,” or, turning the USA into just another mediocre nation
- Why Obama is essentially indifferent to a nuclear Iran
- Why the “Black agenda” and even the “Green agenda” are just tools to Obama
- How the end-result of Obama’s plan is – by design – a LESS powerful, LESS important, LESS wealthy USA… and why he considers that to be a patriotic goal
For me, the best realization from reading this book was the understanding that Obama does not think like the rest of us. Even as an opponent of Obama, I would analyze certain things he’s done and say to myself “that makes no sense… why would he do that?” My fault was assuming that Obama ultimately wants the same goal for America as the rest of us, and that our disagreement was how to get there.
After reading this book, I now believe he has a totally different goal for America than even the majority his own party. Viewed through this lens, his actions make much more sense. This book is a compelling read and I highly recommend it.

I read this book by D'Souza, a year ago- I gained huge insights into TPOTUS. I then understood the reasons why the mainstream media will not/can not delve into any of the issues that shows what a marxist we have in the oval office.
I have bought 9 copies, and given to friends. They too are amazed and appaled about the truth written on the pages.
Oooh, buying copies for friends is a great idea!
To be fair, the book does distinguish between the typical Lenin-style Marxism that most people think of when we hear “Obama is a Socialist” and the sort of “African socialism” that D’Souza feels Obama’s father believed in. Which actually explains perfectly Obama’s actions during the bailout, his friendliness to certain big businesses, and his deference to guys like Immelt, who get positions on his advisory council on jobs while simultaneously using loopholes to pay no taxes and closing plants in the US to ship tens of thousands of jobs overseas.
As an outsider, I think that this is a good distinction.
Australia has a Marxist as Prime Minister. At the moment though, everything is topsy turvey, and there will be a leadership challenge. However, keep in mind that the known challenger is also a Marxist.
Your point is well taken about the difference between Lenin style Marxism and African Marxism. Yet, when you look at what these clowns are trying to deliver, and how they are trying to destroy our respective countries……..
So what do we do about it?
Spread the word & vote him out.
Thanks for the recommendation. It is on my radar scope. of books to buy and read. I hope it's available on Kindle.

I have a couple of books that I give away. This is one, the other is "Gangster Government"
it pretty obvious to anyone paying attention that Obama is trying to destroy America so that the two dead commie parents of his that never loved him finally will.
I loved this book and it’s going to be a movie this summer. “2016 Obama’s America”… just hope it really does come out! Another excellent book is Jack Cashill’s “Deconstructing Obama”.
