INSANE: are Democrats trying to take over Internet before Christmas?
What is it with Democrats doing terrible things at Christmas?
Do they believe conservatives are so distracted by the holidays that they won’t fight back?
Hell, many conservatives are too distracted by a random Wednesday to fight back…and others have been so taught to shut up, keep quiet, and “go along to get along” that they just never fight back, lest the media call them “big meanies” or, worse, “poopy heads”.
Please.
This “net neutrality” business is a power grab by the state media.
Newspapers and TV networks are Leftist controlled and the Internet is destroying them.
Hence, Democrats want to turn off the Internet before Christmas to silence their critics and make their propaganda in the dinosaur media the unchallenged and only game in town.
Idiot Cocktail Party buffoons like Lindsey Graham, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, and Lisa Murkowski are seemingly siding with Democrats to kill the Internet this Christmas.
What are you doing to let every member of the Senate know that just like with Obamacare, this vote to kill the Internet will be remembered for the rest of their political careers.

Can you imagine if the Bush Admin did this? Crickets, Daily Kos ?
Crickets? Of course! When the Communists took over Russia originally, the Intelligensia (read Liberals) supported them – and were later purged because they had served the Communists’ purpose. Libs believe they know what is best for everyone AND that they are special for that reason (read not subject to the same requirements as the smelly populace.)
The Libs are pros at hiding scorpions in fuzzy feel-good concepts. “Everyone should have health care.” “News media should be balanced.” “Protect the country against terrorists.” Too bad they are pathologically opposed to selling Freedom.
Wouldn’t it be interesting to put together a list of everything that this admin is doing to control citizens? Internet kill/control, cell phone blocking, TSA manhandlers (to be coming to a train, bus, or metro near you), health care, regulating private gardens and farmers markets (aka making people dependent on government-approved food supplies), buying up GM, banks, etc., and a foreign policy that paves the way for lunatics to get nukes (lunatics with ties to al Queda, no less). And I’m sure much more that I can’t think of right now.
Oh, forgot the plan to disarm the American people via either the UN (or now the ATF? http://adriennescatholiccorner.blogspot.com/2010/11/atf-rogue-agency.html )
lmao at me, I mean “unarm” not “disarm.” How funny!
I have read in the news here in France that the secret services and a department of the government were planning this in the US.
It surprised me at the time because I had not seen it mentioned in any of the american blogs i usually read.
We have to keep our representatives informed. It’s important more than ever that we email and call their offices and keep the heat on.
Whatever this desperate, ugly left-over congress does before the end of the year can be undone by the next congress. But we have to raise the noise level and make sure they do it. WE make the difference. We elected them…we have to also make sure they know we are still here.
The only “net neutrality” I want is that I get to choose how to use my bandwidth and what content I choose to view. And that my provider and the government not care.
I have to totally agree with you. But you know where they get people sucked into this regulation garbage. It is on the really bad stuff like child porn and stuff. We almost all agree that is bad and should be stopped and dealt with harshly. So they get people to support “some” regulation and once it starts it NEVER stops (we have given a politician or professional bureaucrat power and they WILL not give it up without a fight). Give them a wee bit of power and they want more. We need to end the regulations and fight the evil stuff in different ways – I am not sure how but there has to be creative ways without opening up the regulations avenue.
From what I have read is that they are trying to stop the downloading of music and movies and such. But that their is no checks or balances in it. It all rests in the hands of the Justice Department and they can shut down a website with no appeals process. Holder says your shut down and that is it. If you do not have any illegal content on your site, but there is a link on your site to an illegal site/link that is all they need to shut you down.
Like here, if a poster puts a link in the comments to an illegal site then the Justice Department could shut it down (at their discretion of course).
This bill is bad and needs to be defeated no matter what. Freedom of speech means that EVERYBODY gets a voice and that includes things that you may not like or want but that is the way it is suppose to be.
The problem is that, nowadays, people believe it is the gov’t's job to prevent crimes from happening, rather than punishing the people who commit crimes. Remember ‘innocent until proven guilty?’ Those days are all but over with. Now the gov’t will step in and protect us from ourselves. We can’t be guilty of any wrongdoing anymore, because they will control everything we do.
Giving up freedom for security.
Answer to your headline: YES.
What is it about the Obama Admn that the man cannot let us have a peaceful Christmas holiday without trying to ram something through that the people don’t want. No happy holiday until this man is out of office.
Can someone post a link to something that gives an unbiased look at exactly what this current iteration of NN is?
This has become next to impossible to do because the issue has become so politicized on BOTH sides of the aisle and BOTH sides are using scare tactics to make their points.
Hmmm… maybe I’ll have to look it up on a Gov site. Thanks.
I’ll side with the “No NN” side until such time as the proposed NN shows itself to be unique among Gov regs in that it actually improves the situation for us heavy net users.

What they propose to do is actually okay. The problem is they are proposing a kill switch and that has conservatives afraid. So what needs to happen is when the Republicans get in there they need to write up legislation that maintains the integrity of freedom of speech (so neither political party can use the internet to their advantage to silence the opposition) and.
If Obama and his goons even TRIED to silence the conservatives with this legislation it would further destroy the Democratic party. Americans would not tolerate it.
“What they propose to do is actually okay.”
Oh yeah? If I’m waiting for MRI images or the like, damn straight I want that traffic prioritized over the latest dancing cat video off YouTube. If I’m willing to pay for that, what business does the government have saying I can’t?
Well even the Huffington Post does not like this…and most young adult democrats I know. Seriously, the ones that loathe Palin are the ones who see this as the first step to the downfall of America. It’s just a power grab by the elite dems in power to try and control…because seriously, where else would all of the college students get their music?
There are child porn laws, and if they don’t get it from the internet they’ll get it from the black market. They have the freedom now to deal with kiddie porn sites but they DON’T…that is just a red herring just to get more control.
This is from Big Government yesterday

Net Neutrality should not be confused with dealing with people who pirate music and the like.
We are allowed to use ITunes and a few other sites to download music.
A few months back the blog hosting site Blogetery was shut down temporarily. That story when it first hit the net was garbled and hyped.
I had a small blog with the site and so I checked out the detail. A group associated with Al Qaeda had published a net magazine called Inspire. It included such information as how to make a bomb.
The FBI had been tracking the group. The web hosting company received a letter from the FBI and the web hosting company pulled the plug. There was no need to act in that way.
The blog site owner had been away and he was not given the opportunity to pull the site in question. There have been arrests relating to the site I think I have that correct.
Blogetery is up and running again. The owner tries to shut down those who are doing the illegal things such as pirated music.
If the legislation is just addressing this issue and nothing else, then maybe it should pass. However, if anything else is included “NO WAY JOSE”
