INDIANA GROUND REPORT
Dear HillBuzz,
I’m reporting in from a town of around 30,000 in Mike Pence country. After reading your column this morning, I called a neighbor and we drove around a bit today checking out signs. ”Mike Pence” signs are the ones we saw most frequently. Most of the others are for candidates running for local offices.
There certainly seems to be a high interest in the election, at least if early voter turn-out is any indication. Another neighbor has worked at the polls for years and did so again earlier this week for two days. She told me she always takes a book with her to read during “slow times”, but that this year she never had the time to even open it. There were around 50 people waiting when they opened the polls and the stream of voters didn’t slow either day. When I voted on Friday, there was about the same number of people voting or waiting to vote.
Our town mails out a card to registered voters and we then show it twice once we arrive at the polls. We also must show a driver’s license twice to verify we are the person named on the voter’s card. I spoke with a gentleman who had already voted but was waiting for his wife to vote. Both had been to the polls earlier, but his wife had to come back a second time because she had forgotten her driver’s license when they came the first time. Good for local poll watchers and good for the gentleman and his wife for making the extra effort!

Yeah.. Mike Pence!!!
Hello from In-05!
I’m in In-05 also and I like Mike Pence too! I hear him almost weekly on the local radio program. I think he’s an excellent communicator and speaker. I love that clip they play once in a while where Reagan endorses him. I know Hillbuzz considers him a cucumber sandwich, but I think he’s a fighter for freedom.
Me too… Mike Pence is not mayo and cucumber at all.
He is awesome.
Greetings from Arizona -
I had to show my ID (drivers license) when I voted in the primaries, but last week a judge overturned our ‘proof of citizenship’ law so now every Tom, Dick and Jose can vote without showing ID.
They are also threatening anyone wearing a Tea Party t-shirt that they will not be allowed to vote. Coconino County (Flagstaff) back down and reversed their decision but Maricopa Co. is still be vocal about it.
