If Larry Kudlow runs for Senate in New York, we will go all-in for him

Posted on January 28, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

We think Republicans could win both US Senate seats in the state of New York if they’d just leave the cocktail parties long enough to try. Here’s a tip we learned at Sidetrack like, forever ago:  just slip the bartender a fiver, put a napkin over the top of your highball, and then go outside for a while and DO SOMETHING besides revel in how fabulous your cocktail party is.  Then, when you go back inside, you can continue to do nothing some more, and your drink will be waiting for you, 100% GHB-free.  Trust us, it works.

Why aren’t Republicans taking seriously the chance to snag TWO Senate seats in one state this year?

Rudy Giuliani would have probably beaten Kirsten Gillibrand.

We think Larry Kudlow can beat Chuck Schumer — whom we want to see defeated for his betrayal of Hillary Clinton in 2008.

EVERY Democrat in office now who voted for the Healthcare Rationing bill — without even reading it — deserves to be FIRED.

But, Schumer really is swine.  He proved that on the DC-New York shuttle he took last month, when he wouldn’t get off the phone so the airplane could take off.  The flight attendant kept trying to get him to hang up, to no avail, and Gillibrand finally had to pull some raisons out of her purse to distract Schumer long enough for the phone to be taken away from him.  Schumer’s such a show-off.  Give him an opportunity to pop his head back and dramatically catch raisins like an obese trained seal snatching up moldy sardines and he’s in hog heaven. “Raisins are so good….and so FUN!”

Gillibrand and Schumer flying around together, all tandem, feels like the two worst contestants ever cast on The Amazing Race, where Phil Koeghan might want them to make it to the finish line, but we’re hoping they’re both replaced in November.  Neither one of them stood up and put an end to the insanity displayed the week before Christmas when Democrats tried to shove that monstrous Rationing bill through to passage, like Panda trying to stuff fruit cake through the neighbors’ mail slots again (“But, if I didn’t, they’d be mad I didn’t get them anything, and their dogs or birds will eat whatever falls on the floor, like they’re so clean or whatever in there they can’t have cake on the floor all day.”).

We’ve decided, actually, to make defeating Chuck Schumer one of our goals in 2010.  That means we’ve now got three of our berths filled on what races we will be actively engaged in:

(1) All-in to re-elect Michelle Bachmann so she can replace Pelosi as Speaker

(2) Defeat Barbara Boxer, even if a paper bag or a Muppet ends up getting the nomination against her.  Whoever is the Republican nominee is not Barbara “Call me Senator!” Boxer, and that’s good enough for us.

(3) Repay Chuck Schumer for what he did to Hillary.  Read Game Change and see why.

All of these races we can have a lot of fun with, while also, we believe, finding our own little niche where we can, hopefully, make enough of a difference that the Left declares war on us some more (since, for whatever reason, our helping Scott Brown for the last month was instrumental enough to his win for them to declare a fatwa upon one of us personally).

We’d like to find two more contests that will hold our interests and give us many opportunities to rally the troops to kick Liberals’ cans.

Thoughts on what the last two should be?

Thoughts on who the GOP will put up for those New York seats?

Will Republicans ever learn that cocktail parties are super fabulous, especially when there are hot jock strippers, but that for a cocktail party to be extra special double triple sec good, YOU HAVE TO WIN THE RACE FIRST.

Peter King will NOT run for Gillibrand’s seat. I got a note from his office. He is very concerned with his position on Homeland Security and anticipates us taking the House and he wants to lead that committee. Kudlow would beat Schumer like a drum. Kudlow is an attractive and classy man unlike that greasy mollusk, Schumer. Not to mention Kudlow’s braininess. I mentioned here Damon Dunn running for sec of state in California–to counter voter fraud which the woman Dem running funded by Soros is sure to cover for if elected. Dunn is an ex-athlete, successful businessman, I think perfect.

Thanks. I was wondering if Rep. King had decided about the senate race.

I think he made the right decision. I doubt he could have won in such a liberal state.

And besides, he is my congressman and I don’t want to lose him. :-)

Let’s not also forget that his leak to the press started the ball of bank failures rolling when he outed a bank in CA, which was later picked up in a fire sale by Soros. Surely this was a coincidence! Shumer has to go. I’ll help in any way I can.

I didn’t find anything on whether Larry Kudlow is in, out, or undecided. He has a lot of things happening, including possible health issues.
Other than that, it would be gleeful to see Hayworth thump McCain the RINO. And Allen West for some WH sanity.

Did you know, in certain areas of the blogosphere, that “Schumer” is used as a dirty word? As in, “When the Schumer hits the fan.” Or even “Post-Schumer” meaning “Post-catastrophic-disaster.”

Kid you not. The guy has to go. . .

yeah Schumer is a real sneak, he did not want Hillary to win, he did not vote for her in the Primary that’s for sure. He supported her as if Obama did win they would still have to serve together.

remember this. he is so arrogant with tax payers money.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEfICUoWKBw

former Congressman John Leboutillier thinks the GOP could take all State wide elections in New York, as long as they run a race like Scott Brown did. Gilibrand is a sneak campaigning as a Blue Dog, then moves to the Senate and goes against everything the blue dogs stand for.

    • backhoe says:

I hate to use a phrase as hackneyed as “New Paradigm,” but that is what Scott Brown’s run was, if The Stupid Party has enough sense to make use of it.

It could be a template for every race from here on out.

      • Pappyhappyclinger says:
        2010/01/28 at 11:56 am

Instead of using the Massachusetts Miracle, the Stupid Party is trying to co-opt it.

I think with the likes of Palin, Brown, Jindal and so on we are seeing an infusion of fresh blood into the GOP, and not a moment too soon.

      • WMCB says:
        2010/01/28 at 12:13 pm

The big lesson of MA for the GOP is to butt out in the early stages, let the people choose, and then get strongly behind the People’s choice with massive support.

If the lesson the GOP learns from MA is to try to identify or manufacture “Scott Brown Types” from the top down, they will miss the entire point.

Every state is different, and it is the PEOPLE of that state who know best, who have the gut instinct and feel for who is to represent them. A Brown clone might not work in Alabama. Someone entirely different may be best in Utah. The normal paradigm has shifted back to local representation as our founders envisioned, not a one-size-fits-all national template.

The role of any party, whether GOP or Dem, should be to support whom the people have identified. Their role is SECONDARY. And that is the very thing they will have trouble comprehending, the last lesson they will learn from MA.

But that’s okay, because I believe the People will continue to drive that lesson home until they get it.

        • rae says:
          2010/01/28 at 1:44 pm

the GOP is terrible at elections. Obama got out his vote effectively.

Howard Dean might act like an idiot but he turned the Democratic Party into an election winning machine by central organization.

the GOP should have a strong national platform with a strong grassroots base, that is how they can gain 10 Senate Seats and the House in 2010. I hope the GOP piss Obama off by making Bachmann speaker those Liberals will be so angry.

It’s a pity that Peter King decided to stay in the House after all — Gillibrand is very vulnerable.

As it is, we may witness the entertaining spectacle of a primary challenge by Harold Ford.

Obama was a concern troll in the context of his own speech. Well we all know that this man is ungracious and inelegant. He was also contextually and legally incorrrect.
Justice Alito was correct in the subtle rebuttal of Obama’s misstatemrnt. Obama was wrong as usual. Congress is fully entitled to pass legislation, and has, to prevent foreign countries from politically influencing our elections. But they cannot forbid US corporations from doing so in the specific manner they did. Courts have long found that corporations have the right to free speech, including political speech, and that it is protected by the first amendment. More importantly in this decision the Court held that 2 U.S.C. Section 441a, which prohibits all corporate political spending, is unconstitutional. However, they let stand another statute which stipulates that foreign nationals, specifically defined to include foreign corporations, are prohibited from making “a contribution or donation of money or another thing of value, or to make an express or implied promise to make a contribution or donation, in connection with a Federal, State or local election” under 2 U.S.C. Section 441e, which was not at issue in this case.

Barack Obama claims he was a Senior Lecturer in Constitutional Law, and he also held the position of the President of the Harvard Law Review (having published nothing in either position) his inappropriate opinion of this is not simply inaccurate, but the real irony here is that Obama declined public financing for his presidential campaign, relying instead on donations that are still under review from obvious foreign sources for what amounted to almost a year and a half of campaigning.

He opines about world opinion when discussing the most serious matters of national security, he blantantly wants to give constitutional rights to a foreign enemy combatants and terrorists, and he waxes euphorically on how American judges should emulate foreign judicial opinion, is now suddenly and disingenuously berating the court officially to restrict the 1st amendment rights in this matter. Since he has been the beneficiary of foreign money during the past election, and could be specifically the beneficiary or victim of newly entitled political donations in the next one, he should at least properly recuse himself from seditiously berating another contitutional branch, but what would anyone expect after he welcomed his political allies at the introduction to his diatribe and yet omitted a traditional welcome to the court. Rude and classless. I always thought it was unseemly for the supremes to attend that moribund exercise anyway, and this is simply an excuse for them to busy themselves elsewhere next year. More amusing is watching the ‘free speech’ uber liberals trip all over themselves trying to bash Alito for his reaction. He really should have given him the finger!

Makes us wonder what your agenda is Susan.

    • Doug says:
      2010/01/28 at 4:09 pm

JD was a great representative but got corrupted by DC in the end. He lost his seat to Harry Mitchell because he became unhinged regarding illegal immigration. I have caught his show a few times on the radio and am disappointed at how he has devolved. JD is *much* better than that! He can be very engaging in-person and is incredibly sharp. But…just a bit too harsh.

I will hold my nose yet again and vote for McCain. This will be his last election and he will be replaced by someone much better in a few years. Retiring Representative John Shaddeg has to be in the running down the road, which would be a VAST improvement.

JD worked well in the House but his act got old. I don’t think he has it for state-wide or national office. Just sayin’ but that is what I see here in AZ.

BTW, lots of good young GOP candidates in AZ running for Congress. We could get rid of three DEM reps in 2010…which looks more and more likely each day.

Are you referring to Thompson? I don’t know that. I know that Wisconsin was doing well when he was governor… but don’t know how he stands on current issues. Regardless, the point is that Feingold is not unbeatable anymore. I heard a radio ad for some R I’d never heard of before yesterday. It was a LONG ad and very good. Don’t recall his name, though. But the R’s are starting already to go after him on ads. My point wasn’t “pro” Thompson as much as “anti” Feingold!

KarenWi, Thompson is a Rino. We in Wi. would not be in quite the fiscal mess we are in if Tommy had started a rainy day fund when things were really good here instead of spending freely. (Although, if there had been a rainy day fund, I’m sure Doyle would have spent it now that I think about it.) That said, I would still support Thompson in a hearbeat over Feingold. I was at Feingold’s Pewaukee listening session. I was so angry when I got home I immediately went to the Republican website to see who might be running against Feingold. I then warned my husband that I would soon be really busy campaiging for the best candidate against Feingold.

Interesting. All democrats seem to be “falling in line” with each other. They can whine to the press all they want, but when it comes to a real, honest-to-goodness VOTE where they need all 60 votes, you’ll find them all there at the trough with bells on waiting for their handouts! So, in spite of the different categorizations (e.g. blue dog), all dems are just that- dems. And yet Republicans seem to be falling in categories with republicans and RINO’s. Just a little “beware” here. If the dems unify, and the repub’s are divided, it could end up handing the victory in elections to the D’s. While I am just as much against RINO’s as the rest, I am afraid… terribly afraid… of fracturing the party, leaving it wide open to defeat.

      • hillbuzz says:
        2010/01/28 at 3:58 pm

        Karen,

You hit the Dem strategy on the head. We have it on good authority the plan is to divide and conquer the GOP…most specifically to break the Tea Party crowd from the rank and file. That’s how Dems plan to win, while holding their own identity blocs together.

We have to work to prevent this from happening.

        • KarenWI says:
          2010/01/28 at 6:01 pm

We need to work on a strategy here. I mean… you read yourself the posts about Thompson in Wisconsin (he’s a RINO). This is a problem. Like I said, much as I am personally not in love with RINO’s myself, I do NOT want that to give the election back to Feingold. What can we do to counter the republican “anti-RINO” from falling prey to the D’s plot of “divide & conquer”??

I’m curious as to why Guiliani keeps dropping out of races. I saw the improvements he made in NYC when he was Mayor and I was for him as a Presidential candidate. Is there something we don’t know?

GOP can defeat Chuckie in NY by calling a traitor/back-stabber. I could see a slogan already “can you trust Chuckie” who stabbed his comrade aka Hillary .

    Can you trust Chuckie?

Guarantee that Hillary Democrats will help defeat the traitor in NY

As a Wisconsinite, I would love to see Feingold defeated. He is so very liberal in the Senate but ran on being a conservative the last time he ran and people believed him! All a candidate has to do is hit him on the issues he has voted for. (I’ve begun a file on him and hope to give it to his opponent.)

I would go all-in for Mr. Kudlow as well. I like to read his articles online and find him sensible and persuasive. We desperately need people with fiscal sense and discipline in congress.

That’s why I also support Peter Schiff in Connecticut, who I wish would run for the House because he is a real outsider longshot for the senate (and the House is where the spending action is).

    Hey Boyz-

There is a VERY interesting race going on your own backyard…Adam Andrzejewski is running in the GOP primary for governor of Illinois. He is backed by Polish hero and Nobel Prize winner Lech Walesa. He is also being likened to another Rubio…I think you guys should throw your weight behind him!!! Just my 2 cents. :)

Yes, please check this guy out. I know nothing about him but he’s inspiring an awful lot of enthusiasm. Would you boys please look and report back, whether you like him or not?

I can’t stand Schumer. I have no idea why Gillibrand is flying around with him… I come from her congressional district, and when she was our Rep, she was FABULOUS. She worked especially hard for veterans. Our district is fairly conservative, yet she was easily re-elected. Pro-gun, hard worker, smart.

I ask myself regularly why she is voting and behaving the way she is. NY is a weird area –there’s NYC, and then there’s upstate. NYC never liked her for her gun views and thinks she’s too conservative; meanwhile, she’s voting for these inane things. But I don’t see how she’ll win the Dem primary by bucking the Dems, since she’s already unpopular among the downstaters…it’s nearly a no-win situation for her.

I’m hoping after Brown’s MA win, she will regroup and get back to herself. If not, I guess I’ll have to let her go.

But I’m reserving judgment on her for now, because for three years I saw a hardworking, non-egotistical representative here where I live, and I can’t let go of her just yet…

Schumer on the other hand is a royal a$$hole.

RedState talked about Adam A today. I would think the pronunciation of his name would be prohibitive in his election, but then again, Blago got elected there.

What makes me mad about Schumer is that he would have never become an US Senator without Hillary and now he stabs her in the back. He has to go. Plus I hate the way he is trying to keep other Dems from running in Primaries.
Its time for him to go. Gillibrand too anyone who is just following Obama and the other Dems.
