How do you think the individual members of the IOC will vote on Friday?

Posted on September 29, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

We’re curious how you think the votes will shake out on Friday when the IOC convenes in Copenhagen to decide who is awarded the 2016 Olympics.

Looking at the list of IOC members, where do you think the votes will shake out?

What countries, by way of their rep, will vote for which city?

We’ll never know the answer, because the vote is secret, but we’re wondering what you are thinking.

For instance, we think if there is multi-tier voting, all Spanish-speaking votes for Madrid in the first round go to Rio when Madrid is eliminated with Tokyo and the final vote comes down between Chicago and Rio.

Or, are we out of it completely and do you think Tokyo and Madrid are really still contenders?

Where does Africa’s votes go?  What about Asia?  How much does Europe really love “The One”? How much of all this do you see as any sort of reflection on Dr. Utopia?

Chime in.

It’s really hard to say – they might vote for Dr. Utopia to show how much they all hated Bush (boy, do I miss him). On the other hand, the “blame the U.S. for everything” theme is so reflexive around the world that it might go to Rio. It’s for sure, anyone who has ever been caught in Chicago traffic won’t vote for Chicago.

I will take a wild guess and say that all of the African votes will go to Obama.

I think they’ll vote for Obambi, at least in Europe. There’s a sense in Europe that Rio can’t handle the Games, but that Chicago has the transport system and the money – hah! – to host them.

Plus, the European newspapers, especially in Ireland, are a bit like the NYT. If you don’t go online to the American blogs – and why would you, if you don’t have connections to the US? – you’d assume that all the problems with Obama and his policies are because 43% of the poulation have magically joined the Klan and similtaneously discovered astroturfing. Because, y’know, everyone who supports Obama is smart and anyone who doesn’t is a malevolent moron.

But hey, this is one of those times when I’ll be really, really happy to be wrong. I think Rio could actually use the Games. Maybe someone will see that.

Yeah, Rio needs the games and can afford them better.

Rio and Brazil have much much much much cheaper labor than Chicago!

My guess is he wouldn’t have gone if he didn’t already have some deal to get the bid. I hope I’m wrong about it, I don’t want anymore crony debt.

The IOC is so totally corrupt it makes the Daly machine look practically pristine. I suspect that the fix has been in all along and Da Mare has been greasing palms for months and months. I will be so shocked if Chicago doesn’t get it – delighted, but shocked.

I am afraid that the decision will be to Chicago. My thinking is based on the belief that the IOC wants to be “progressive” and back Utopia, to give this fledgling, incompetent president a break. What kills me is that Utopia probably knows it and he jumps on the chance? He knows his popularity has plummeted and he will take every handout possible. Unfortunately, when things are done with these intentions, there are always negative consequences. We’ll continue to pile on the debt and all for what? To give yet another break to an incompetent who also has hidden plans for America? May the Lord bless this nation!

Guys, I hate to say it but this decision has already been made, and it’s in the bag for Chicago.

Dr. Utopia wouldn’t hop AF-1 to take a flight to Kobenhavn if there was a chance that the site would be Rio.

There’s no telling what the man promised in exchange to host it. Probably everything and the kitchen sink.

Which countries’ delegates do you think the corrupt admins will give bribes to?

What? No bribes to individual voters?

    LOL

You got to be out of your mind to think otherwise!

That would be the rational answer, but with Daley, O and the corrupt thugs he runs with, it’s gotta be a done deal. These type of people always get their way, by any means necessary.

Yeah, remember the Atlanta Olympic bomber?

That was only back in the Clinton administration.

Wanna bet Daily and The Big O make the committee an offer they can’t refuse?

(Looking at the pics of Michelle and wondering where she tucked the dead horse’s head…..)

Did you see the pic of Meanchelle coming down the steps of Air Force Hag (it was on Drudge)? It looked like a chair throw, if by throw you mean “threw up plaid.” It makes the couch dress look good.

I think the IOC members will shock everyone and give the games to Rio. “Blame It on the Bossa Nova.”
