Hooray for Hockey Moms!
Just a fun story to finish the year with.
The Chicago Blackhawks are taking their moms on a two-game California road trip.
I can’t imagine any hockey player alive could be in the pro leagues without the love and support of his mom (or other legal guardian). Hockey is a sport you just can’t play without immense parental support. It’s not like playing pickup basketball games or kicking a soccer ball around. Skates, padding, league fees, etc. are all very, very expensive. Those practices can only be had at an ice rink, and the lower you are on hockey’s totem pole the worse your skate time will be.
It’s nice to see the moms of the Blackhawks players getting some special thanks for getting their sons to where they are.
Hockey. Moms. Rule.

My mom would kill to be able to do that.
All 5'-1/2" of her LOVES Blackhawk hockey.
FULL DISCLOSURE: She does like the fights.
What a nice thing to do!
My niece is about to become a hockey mom, even though she knows the immense expense and time commitment of this endeavor I think this is a great thing for the team to do!
When I was working on an advanced degree at Northwestern, I had an opportunity to attend a Blackhawks game on a night that Bobby Hull scored a hat trick. I didn't go because of a report I was working on.
Bad decision. I still get upset when reminded of it.
Can't wait to see the Winter Classic outdoor game tomorrow.
I'm the hockeymom of 3 boys. Its a full time job,but I wouldn't trade it for the world. What a great way to honor their Moms ,by taking them on a road trip.
