HillBuzz Overnight Open Thread: August 31st, 2011
What’s the most interesting thing you learned today?
What’s something important you read about?
What got people talking in YOUR part of the country?
Today someone sent me the photoshop (above) of President Palin at the Resolute Desk, hard at work, surrounded by photos of her family and friends in an Oval Office sometime in 2013.
For anyone with photoshop skills, these sure would be fun images to start making…picturing what a Palin Oval Office would be like.
It’s marvelous to think of Obama being booted out and sent into exile in Hawaii, with a fresh administration coming in to undo all the terrible things he’s done in this “the Golden Age of Hopeychange”.

May I be the first to say I LOVE THIS PICTURE?
can I be second??
The same people who think conservatives are stooooopid can't tell Libya and Lebanon apart:

What idiots! There is a city name Tripoli in Northern Lebanon, but they clearly mistook Lebanon for Libya. There is no way Ghedaffi is in the Tripoli in Lebanon.
Ah, what a great photoshop image. Sarah will be coming within three hours of me. I wonder if I will get to go see her on Labor Day. I've been trying to meet her since June 2007. Thanks for this wonderful image, Kevin.
Where is Sarah going to appear so close to you?
I live in CT too.
Good luck! May I pray for you?
(From a fellow insomniac.)
Prayers are always welcome. By GreatFather's grace, I am alive and living a blessed life.
I will pray for his continued blessings on your path, too.
Thank you for your prayers.
Newt, good luck and my best wishes with you tomorrow.
As for the Sarah pic…awesome. Would love to see Trig playing on the floor at her feet.
Garbled link for the AOC should be http//www.crows.org/conventions/symposium-agenda-2011.html
Awesome picture!! I can definitely imagine it!
And when we All imagine it……wonderful things can/will happen!!
Let's do it – focus on that image Every day for at least one minute.
Love the picture, Kevin, just perfect!
Best wishes tomorrow, Newt
Don't forget an Israeli flag…
In light of the post last week about Warren Buffet complaining that the rich should pay more taxes, I thought my friends at Hillbuzz would be interested to know that Buffet's company OWES the IRS more than $1 BILLION and has been fighting with the IRS over not paying taxes for 2002 to 2009. Nice work, Warren. And for those who argue that Warren Buffet and Berkshire Hathaway are not the same thing, I say BS! Nothing goes on at Berkshire Hathaway that Warren Buffet doesn't know about and approve/demand. Plus he has his own income from BH set up to MINIMIZE his tax burden. Typical liberal hypocrite!

thank you for this report!! I was clueless and I try to follow the market.
The picture?
( Swoon! )
Be still, my heart…
Palin at work: Close Energy Dept….check. Close Education Dept….check, Close Commerce Dept….check. Fire Eric Holder….check. Drill in ANWAR…check. Now, what to do after lunch.
Quick reminder: George Clooney is an idiot.
Once you've picked yourselves off the floor, read this:
“As for running for president, look, there’s a guy in office right now who is smarter than almost anyone you know, who’s nicer and who has more compassion than almost anyone you know. And he’s having an almost impossible time governing. Why would anybody volunteer for that job?” Mr. Clooney told a news conference.

loooser. I don't know what to say after that.
Perry's spending is…worrying. There is no good reason (that I can think of) to seal his travel records:

Here is what “fungible” means.
Fungibility is the property of a good or a commodity whose individual units are capable of mutual substitution, such as crude oil, wheat, precious metals or currencies. For example, if someone lends another person a $10 bill, it does not matter if they are given back the same $10 bill or a different one, since currency is fungible.
It takes a minimum of 30 months to fully train a SEAL for his first deployment.
Oh, but we’re just getting started. After spending YEARS on the ground in combat, gaining priceless experience on top of their already best-in-the-world training, a very, very select few SEALs are tapped to join DEVGRU (United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group).

That is why most DEVGRU guys are over 30. They are highly experienced, stand-out SEALS. How much of a complete bad@$$ do you have to be to stand out . . . in a group of SEALs?
DEVGRU is the best of the best of the best. But even DEVGRU is split into four assault squadrons: Red, Blue, Silver and Gold. The Gold Squadron is the “premier” squadron, in other words, the best of the best of the best of the best of the best. Okay, now try to get your head around how special the men are who stand out not just among other Navy SEALs, but beyond that stand out amongst DEVGRU SEALs. Gold Squadron DEVGRU SEALs make Superman feel insecure.
Guess who was on that Chinook. An entire 15-man troop from Gold Squadron DEVGRU. I kid you not. An entire troop of the most valuable human tactical and combat assets in not just the United States Military, but all militaries across all of the centuries of human civilization and warfare – packed into one National Guard transport helo in a massive, massive breach of dispersion protocol, accompanied by 10 (I think) more SEALs (further compounding the breach of dispersion protocol), the Chinook crew, and SEVEN Afghanis

I heard Sarah has cancelled her 09-03-11 trip to Iowa. Can anyone confirm?
Nope.com She is still giving her speech as scheduled. Going to be a barn-burner by all accounts, coming down hard on crony capitalism. Hey, Ricky, you listening?

far as i know that's just msm-news-day-to-day-game-play..
they don't bother checking anymore, everything is pure speculation, not to mention presenting their pulled out of thin air opinions as if they were facts..

KD, Just to let you know… I went to click on your "debate prep" links and only the eeyore breeding link is working. Tried some of the other links under other headings and most aren;t working.
Thanks for the heads-up. We’re having some issues with our WordPress theme and we just haven’t had time to address them. Everybody who works on Hillbuzz has at least one other full-time job (thank God, unlike many Americans.) We may have time to work on this over the long weekend.
