HillBuzz Overnight Open Thread: August 30th, 2011

Posted on August 30, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Featured Content, Hillbuzz, Open Threads

What’s the most interesting thing you learned today?

What stories are you looking forward to hearing more about tomorrow?

What are people talking about in your part of the country?

Today was a hugely successful one for me. I finally got Justin to make a photoshop for me that I’ve been wanting to use whenever we run a story about Oprah, the Charybdis of Lake Michigan.  Justin is hard to focus on anything, and it’s almost impossible to tear him away from video games, but ever since we saw “The Undefeated” on a drive up to Milwaukee, he’s been wanting to help do something to fight back against the Left.

Using his artistic and technical talents to create interesting photo shops to lampoon figures on the Left is a great use of Justin’s abilities.

He’s at the point where he has the passion, and there are things he wants to say and do, but because he’s never been politically involved before he doesn’t have the confidence to take that next step.

I’m sure a lot of people out there are in the same boat.

As the 2012 election gears up, I hope a lot more of you join Justin and discover the talents YOU possess that are uniquely qualified to thwart the Left in your OWN individual ways.

I am very encouraged by our chances to bring Obama and the Left down — and hopefully take Oprah with them as well!

    An EPA Moratorium

Obama has the power to delay new rules that will shut down 8% of all U.S. power generation.
Since everyone has a suggestion or three about what President Obama can do to get the economy cooking again, here’s one of ours: Immediately suspend the Environmental Protection Agency’s bid to reorganize the U.S. electricity industry, and impose a moratorium on EPA rules at least until hiring and investment rebound for an extended period.

I was once a "Justin," and then a Paduan Learner. Through time, and trials, I acquired knowledge, experience, and yes, scar tissue.

I learned that the Great Apes have a type of older male called "Silver Back." It is interesting to learn about them. I suggest anyone who is interested to Bing-search (liberal google censors their results) for "silverback gorilla" and enjoy.

Basically, the Silver Back is the head of the tribe. He makes sure that the tribe has food. He adopts the orphaned kids and feeds them. He is first to fight to protect his tribe.

How does a male become a Silver Back? Not all male Great Apes become Silver Back. The ones who do usually spend time around their tribe's Silver Back leader / protector, and when the see that the Silver Back is fading, or if the leader is killed, the soon-to-be Silver Back seems to make a decision. His behavior changes, his mannerisms change, and the hair on his back starts to become grey.

Essentially, when a Great Ape male decides that taking care of a whole tribe is more important than his own personal stuff, he becomes a Silver Back.

I remember the day I became Silver Back. Though Kevin may not have used these terms, I just know that he knows the day he became HillBuzz' Silver Back.

Back to a (long ago) earlier thread in this subject, Yoda told Luke, his 1st mistake was in doubting himself.
"But when will I be Jedi?"
"You will know when you are."

It's the Silver Back thing all over again.

It's not that everyone, woman or man, must be Silver Back. It's that we must grow up, put aside our childish things, and do what is required of an adult member of our community.

Discover your destiny, and fulfill it.
Discover your spiritual gift and put it to use.
Discover yourself, and your inner strength.
"Your 1st mistake was doubting yourself." — Yoda

That was an excellent post, Newtlove. A fantastic education about Silver Backs, and love the Yoda reference. I love your final words, and myself often ponder what is my destiny, gifts, etc. You are inspiring, and I thank you for sharing your post.

I have mention here before that a woman who's arm was broken in Philadelphia by one of the violent young black flash mobs was a writer for The Daily Onion (a disgusting far left journal that has attacked Trigg Palin is sickening ways. It isn't easy to find a republican among the pedestrians in center city Philadelphia. So keep on agitating your perpetual victims among the "African American Community." Keep getting them angry enough from believing your bull shit about the racist Tea party. You are only hurting yourselves dumbocraps! More white liberals will be victims of these vuiolanet white hate manipulated flash mobs and eventially some of these urban liberals will wake up to the fact that black people can be just as racist as caucasian or asia people. It's the power stupid. And they have had the power in city like Philadelphia for years. Keep on stiring the pot. White Philly liberals will start to see who the real racists are.

I swear, I was on this Bartonsville bridge just the other….year.

On top of highways being washed out and bridges destroyed throughout western New England and upstate NY, I learned that at least a dozen of Vermont's covered bridges were wrecked by whatever was left of Irene (plus some in Upstate NY). New England born and raised, I kinda viewed nature's assault on these Green Mountain icons as insult on top of injury. I'm hoping that alot of private funds from these wealthy northeastern liberals who like to vacation in VT can be used to aid in the rebuilding, altho' I wouldn't be surprised if the needed somebody to walk them through the process of making a charitable donation rather than going to bed each night secure in the knowledge that the government will always and forever more wisely spend their tax money on those in need.

This actually explains a lot. The Dems are using Perry to scare the living daylights out of the left, and force them to come out and vote for Obama in 2012. Scare tactics about Perry is how they intend to force their base into loyalty:

If it is going to cost me $900 to send my kid to New York City and that price guarantees they will get to go to a Broadway show, etc. or $750 and it doesn't guarantee they get to go to a show, etc. but it still guarantees that the teachers get to go for free…?? What is the point? And $900 is a lot of money to send a kid to New York City for 3 days.. and they are going by bus and not flying… I am not impressed. I could go overseas for $900 and for $750 for that matter.

Have been over in a while with school starting…ugghh. This year my girls are doing mostly online classes..

Hey. I saw that if someone wants to run for prez she needs to declare so by 2 Sep as the RNC has declared 31 Jan as the GOP primary day. Many of the states like to be first so primaries could start as soon as 2 Jan. As a side note, it is super stupid to have them so early. That strategy isn't going to work. The longer the primaries are drawn out and there is no clear winner, the better for the Republicans only because there will be many fronts that the DNC has to fight up until then.

Did you hear the one about Obama and MSNBC breaking up????
    September 7 – 8:00 PM
O scheduled his jobs, jobs, jobs speech during the MSNBC republican debate.
I thought they were an item.
I also thought it strange that the debate was being held in the Reagan Library to begin with.
What is going to happen now?
Postpone the debate? Postpone the speech?
Move it from the Reagan Library?
    Decisions, decisions!!!!!
