What would Andrew Breitbart do today if he was still alive and had Saturday March 3rd, 2012 to fill with some activity that would drive the Tolerant Left, the Cocktail Party GOP establishment, and the Elite Media absolutely BONKERS?
I’ve actually gone to the trouble of writing “What would Andrew Breitbart do today?” on a notecard that I’ve taped to my bathroom mirror. I highly encourage you to do the same — because it’s a marvelous reminder that every day is precious and that the gift you’ve been given of waking up today and having the opportunity to do something interesting, exciting, and/or important with it is a gift you should not squander.
I’d like to ask you for a personal favor today — and it’s something that I’m personally very bad at so if it’s a struggle for you, too, don’t feel bad because I’m right there with you. Sometime today, though, I’d like you to think of a friend who you know is very interested in politics…but someone you might not speak to often or get together with all that regularly. I’d love it more than anything if you gave that person a call and had a chat today — about what Andrew Breitbart’s life work meant to you. At some point, introduce the idea to your friend that perhaps the two of you could carry a little bit of Breitbart’s spirit forward, by finding ways to be a little “Breitbart” yourselves…and to maybe become involved somehow in the Resistance efforts that General Breitbart very much lead — which continue after his passing.
Have you ever seen people who go to the gym together and spot each other during workouts…or who meetup at the mall to walk together for exercise…or who help each other out by being in the same carpool group or whatever?
Have you ever considered finding a “buddy” like this — focused specifically on the political world? Think about how fun it would be to have a go-to person who you could always call up on short notice and ask, “Hey, there’s a speaker I want to hear so would you like to go with me?” or “Would you want to head down to the Board of Elections meeting and demand to know why they still let dead people vote in this state?”.
I think one of the things that’s kept you from becoming a political mystery-solving, corruption-busting, gadfly like Andrew Breitbart is the simple fact that you’ve lacked a Scarecrow to your Mrs. King, a Cagney to your Lacy, or a David Addison to your Maddie Hayes. Feel free to insert whatever sort of “buddy” you’ve always felt lacking in the above…and then think of a friend who could fill that role.
The greatest thing about Andrew Breitbart was that he had no superpowers…and that he was an ordinary guy at heart. He had not fancy degrees. He did not come from great wealth. He didn’t have anyone running cover for him or handing him things on platters. He just had smarts, creativity, a sterling work ethic, and great, personal drive to seek the truth and instill absolute holy terror into the Tolerant Left, the Cocktail Party Establishment, and the Elite Media.
You might not think about this every day, but you are, like Andrew, one of God’s great creations. You’re alive today because your parents, and your grandparents, and all their parents and grandparents before them had something special enough to ultimately produce YOU…and God selected you to be alive TODAY because he put inside you something special…just like he did with Andrew. You might not be as bombastic as he was, or as adept at utilizing the Interwebs, or as much of a prodigy in terms of driving Leftists insane…but you are here today — reading a political website on a Saturday for crying out loud — because YOU were chosen to be here when America needed you the most.
You also just so happen to be in the possession of like-minded friends who share everything above with you.
You just haven’t connected the dots yet to see that YOU are America’s secret weapon against the Left…and that YOU and your friends are what the nation’s counting on to turn the tide between now and election day.
There have been so many times when I’ve thought of closing down this site and attempting to get my old life back: it’s a huge expense, it makes me a nonstop target for crazy people who want to silence me, and it takes at least 10 hours a day to research, write, edit, and maintain. Every time I’ve ever wanted to quit, however, I sit down and pray about it and the same exact thought comes into my head…that what if I stopped doing this and the site went dark for good and the day afterwards was the day that someone out there would have read something on the site that inspired that person to get off the couch, put down the Pepsi, and DO SOMETHING very Breitbart-like that would have initiated a chain of events that would have defeated Barack Obama and brought down both the Democrats and the Cocktail Party GOP establishment?
I really see my role in all of this as the guy at the modern equivalent of a Morse Code machine…tapping out a message to someone out there, wholly unknown to me…in the firm belief that it’s a message that person needs to hear.
I have never understood why other conservative sites don’t do this — and I don’t know why they spend all their time bloviating and opining and often squabbling over this that or the other…instead of DOING SOMETHING or encouraging their readers to DO SOMETHING. You know, the way Andrew Breitbart did about a dozen and a half interesting and important things every day before lunch — with a Round Two before dinner no doubt. Andrew’s earned himself a place in the history books as one of the Tea Party Americans who became a General in the American Resistance. It’s my hope that someone reading this not only takes Andrew’s place someday, but exceeds him in every way, finding a way to do triple the damage he ever did to the Left.
I think you have what it takes to be that person…it’s just a matter of tapping into that. So, I’ll keep tapping away at this keyboard until you find the gifts God gave you and figure out how to use them. In the meantime, I’ll keep throwing every idea I can think of out there to inspire you…and I will rope in absolutely everyone I know to help in that (whether they like it or not sometimes). Maybe you can start roping in your friends and family too, and start seeing every day you’re gifted with as a chance to drive the Tolerant Left crazy and rattle the Cocktail Party like nobody’s business.
It’s not fair, but this is your watch, folks. It was God’s plan that you’d be here in 2012 when America needed you most. Some kind of strange chain of events led you to be here today, reading these words, typed out with the hope that you think on them today and figure out what you’re going to do this week to be a little bit “Breitbart” in your own way.
If you’re so inclined, I’d love to hear some ideas on just what, exactly, you could do in that spirit. If you’re too shy to chime in, that’s okay. Say a prayer for Andrew this weekend at some point, and include your thoughts in that so maybe he’ll hear them up there too. I bet it would make him feel great to know that not only is he missed like crazy but that YOU have decided to pick up a few flames from his torch and carry those forward for him.

I have seen multiple accounts from those close to him saying he had a heart condition which was not disclosed to the public. He had apparently spent several days in a medical facility a few years ago for treatment, and that he had made lifestyle changes as a result.
I saw this from the guy who said he would release the tapes within 10 days on Hannity. Since then I have seen reports of the same from his father in law I believe.
I am not one for immediately jumping on the conspiracy theory bandwagon. However, the bright red skin account is very interesting. After some Googling, I pulled up the following:
Dr Richard Schulze says, “You cannot die of a heart attack if you have a bright red face. It’s just physically impossible.”
The reason I am not sold on poisoning, especially something like cyanide, is that here would be very little reason to actually kill him off. Yes, Breitbart was a fearless warrior, but his real legacy is the legion of those he recruited to his cause. They aren’t going to simply give up. They’ll probably be even more invigorated to do his work. Killing Breitbart wouldn’t stop the release of any tapes. So, logically, it’s a pretty risk plot for basically no payoff.
Also, he was pronounced dead 50 minutes after leaving the Brentwood. That seems to suggest that he was not actually dead at the time the witness saw him.
We will just have to wait and see what the autopsy report says. But you’re right, cyanide poisoning can cause pink skin, though, it is unclear how quickly that can actually happen from the Wikipedia article.
I agree with you since my son did have a heart attack at age 40, however….I, at this point, do not put anything past the Obamabots after Andrew announced he had tapes of Zero’s college days. If I were a staffer on the big sites, I would be VERY careful in the next 7-10 days.
I agree that it’s a little premature to jump to any “conspiracy” conclusions, but the left is known for murdering or maiming their enemies in order to send a message and embolden their side. Stalin murdered the most effective generals in the Russian army just before WW II in order to stop anyone from leading a coup against him.

I think you actually first published this little stunt (or I saw it here first, anyway), but I’ve made up the little “Thanks Obama” post its with arrows to place on the gas pumps by the price.
I’ve struggled to think of any area near me that there are any Obama supporters, though so as to maximize my satisfaction by rubbing it in their faces.
I just wrote up a bunch of sticky notes and will have in my car, $1.89 nat’l avg when Obama took office, just sayin…..
I have to drive a distance to my job, I drive a Suburban(it’s a ’99, paid off and can’t afford to buy a compact), and if gas goes up to $5, I will have to quit my job.
I have a buddy already, but I agree, we need to branch out to more people.. We are in the fight of our life..
I’m a grandma….marched on Washington, twice, my kids think I’ve gone over the edge, but your post was inspiring…I think, and hope someday when I’m gone, my kids/grandchildren, will remember their grandma, trying to save this country.

I am beyond tired of the red herring that is forced provision of contraceptives from Catholic organizations. When was the last time you had a discussion on the concerns of this country that centered around, or even peripherally touched on, contraception as a “right”?

I’m going to start writing more every day. I don’t have the time right now to keep up with a blog or write articles, but we need volunteer foot soldiers to post to the news web sites to counteract the paid ACORN and SEIU thugs who spew their pablum PR propaganda all over the comments sections. Pick a couple, go there and counteract. Just one a day is all that’s necessary. You don’t have to engage in flame wars (unless you want to), just post. Get the word out that we ARE the majority. Be clear; be concise; be rational; be angry; be honest; be Breitbart.

I know you will probably never read this. I’ll probably be lucky if one of your staff does. But I just felt compelled to write to you for only the second time in my life. (The first was during the 2000 recount situation.)
I’m an officer in the army who has been deployed to Iraq twice. I’m deeply concerned about the direction this country has been heading for the past 50 years or so. My degree is in history, and I tend to view things in that light. This nation is displaying the classic signs of decline–complacency, moral degradation, dependency, overstretch, budgetary problems, and a lack of patriotism that even drifts into self-loathing.
I believe we have gotten here because intelligent people and patriotic people have been bullied and intimidated into silence by a media and governmental machine with a warped agenda. I’m 35 years old, and since I was a child I have looked to you as the one person who not be cowed, who could not be intimidated.
Today you caved in to the liberal machine and apologized. Once again intimidation has triumphed over logic and common sense. For the first time in my life, I am truly disappointed in you, sir. Your precious advertising revenue is more important than your principles. How much money is enough, Rush? What good will your money be to you when your short life ends? The nation and freedom are eternal.
WA State Ground Report:
Today I attended the Bellingham Caucus. I sat next to a Delegate from my Precinct and he said he was surprised by the number of people in attendance. It was at one school in what I believe was their Foyer or cafeteria and quite crowded.
Almost everyone in my precinct voted for Ron Paul with Santorium being second. I talked to a number of people who felt that we were being a little hijacked by the Dems as there were some there and they were not shy about admitting that they were there to mess things up. There was a very cheerful, young, scrappy looking guy who looked like he had just rolled out of bed and he convinced another couple near me to vote for Ron Paul. He was very informed. I asked him if he was going to vote Republican if Ron Paul didn’t win the nomination and he said he would probably vote for Gary Johnson.
Parking was terrible and as I walked to the school, I saw a number of cars with Obama stickers on them. We are a college town so I guess I shouldn’t have expected anything less. There was a large Newt sign and two Newt supporters out front and about five for Santorium. I don’t remember seeing any Romney people handing out information. I think the Republican party could have done itself some good if they had provided a shuttle for the elderly people who had to park so far away from the School. I would bet that Mr. Obama’s organization would do that.
I did step up and nominate myself to be a delegate although I will only be an alternate. Way out of my comfort zone but this site has encouraged me.
My only regret is that I didn’t have Hillbuzz stickers to hand out or a T-shirt to wear. Wish I’d thought of that earlier.

CA TEA PARTY GROUPS CRASHED BY “PUBLIC ENEMY” after Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson (BOND, So LA Tea Party) speaks about fighting racism. Pictures, interviews are most illuminating.
Just thought that I would mention that I saw my first mostly-removed Obama Biden bumper sticker on the back of an SUV/truck-like thing yesterday. The idea that others are coming to their senses made my day.

I am saying a prayer today for Andrew and his family. I am also praying for YOU and the HB “family” as well. You may not know it but you have been “Breitbart” in so many ways. You belonged to a group and culture that was hostile to the right and during the 2008 election cycle, due to your support of Hillary you had your eyes opened to the ways of the left.
By your founding and subsequent expansion of this site, you have (to borrow the phrase) outed so many on the left for their wrongdoings. What you have done, all while being an active member of the Chicago gay community has taken courage that even Andrew might not have had. I’m sure that there are others out there, members of left wing identidy groups (gay, black etc.) who feel as you do but fear speaking out within their community. Your example serves to give courage to those who worry about being called into question within their own group.
