So, what’s going on in your world? What are people talking about? What are your friends and family talking about? What stories are the Democrat-controlled media covering up today?

Just a housekeeping note…our enhanced security procedures are throwing a lot of false positives, so more comments are going into the moderation ether than usual. We’re working on it, but please be patient while we sort things out.

Well, I just hope the idiotic GOP does not nominates Gingrich. The old, gray haired crook is doing well in the polls. The only good thing I like from him is he is a reformed Catholic, nothing else.
The man does not stands a chance in hell to beat the Obama machine.
I still pray for the only relatively young, charismatic, conservative, historic, attractive, baggage free, candidate(Michelle Bachmann) to get rid of Gingrich and Romney and win those primaries and get that historic frenzy Obama had in 2008.
Obama can only be defeated by a young, attractive and historic candidate that can rally the conservative masses. A younger Reagan and if is a woman is a PLUS.
Gingrich would be a disaster and he might even lose more states than McCain.

Imagine if Michelle wins Iowa, this historic event would catapult her to be the female GOP Obama in 2012. A woman nominated for POTUS by the GOP would be too huge for Obama and the Dems to handle. But no, the idiotic GOP wants to nominate another old, boring white man.

Not sure what you mean by reformed Catholic. Newt is a convert to Catholicism. He was baptized a Lutheran as a baby but had been Baptist all his adult life. He converted two and a half years ago but has said he felt he was Catholic a few years before that. It just wasn't the formal commitment that he made at the Easter Vigil in 2009.

It bothers me that so many (like the crazy Martin Bashir) slam him for being a Catholic and a serial adulterer. Now if he is still an adulterer, then that is a problem. But Newt has said that is behind him and he asked for forgiveness and made reconciliation with God. I don't want to see what he will have to face after they (MSM and O's re-election team) get Cain out.

Let me also use this open thread to comment on the so called "English Only" movement. Note that these extremists and racists who are talking about having English as official language in the USA(to include no chances Gingrich and no chances Ron Paul), are the ones killing the language of Shakespeare.
It is funny when, as Hispanic with accent, I'm told idiotic English killing lines like these : "Speak English, this ain't Puerto Rico".

    DOWN WITH "ENGLISH ONLY" RACISTS!!!

Here in MN, our voting system requires that all voting materials serve not only English speaking residents, but also those who speak Russian, Spanish, Somali, Vietnamese and Hmong. Seriously? How much money are we spending on this and on top of this, these requirements probably apply to several other State of MN procedures.

My grandparents all came as immigrants to this country, so I'm not going to let anyone label me. I just don't understand why it was fine for my Russian grandfather to learn English and enlist in the American forces during WWI, before he even became a naturalized citizen, but a group of citizens (in this example Vietnamese) who first immigrated to MN in the early 70's still need to have their own language-specific, taxpayer-funded documents? We never phase out any language. We just keep adding more. I still believe that a nation united under a common language is stronger than one that does not.

I know that many Americans who shout the "Speak English" mantra, have a very poor grasp of english themselves. But when my grand parents came her from Italy they didn't have a translator at all of thier doctors offices. Now when I go to the doctor instructions are posted in serveral different languages and patients are made aware that they can request translators. It is like the wealfare system-don't teach them to fish and allow them to be independent. enable them and they will depend on big government for everything even communication. Learning another language is alot easier when it is necesssary.

Well, my uber-liberal hubby took great delight in dancing his touchdown dance while informing me that Herman Cain is toast. Yesterday a woman came forward claiming a 13-year affair that she says is still ongoing and she allegedly has proof. When I checked out the AJC/Atlanta TV story, she appears to have proof, in the form of cellphone records with calls and texts to/from Herman Cain's personal cellphone at all hours of the day and night. When the reporter dialed the number, Herman Cain himself answered. The campaign issued a very weasel-like Clintonesque statement that basically says, "We're not saying, he did it, but it's none of your business because it's just about sex." Herman, I have defended you so far, and I want to consider you innocent until proven guilty, but you're going to have to come clean on this one. What is your relationship to this woman?

I am also asking, "Why do these men who have perfectly lovely wives, stray for skanky women who aren't fit to carry their wife's luggage?" I mean, did you SEE this chick? I think this also shows that Axelrod has been very busy dragging hundred-dollar bills through trailer parks in an effort to bring down Cain once and for all.

but really, who cares? even if it's true? What I care about is how he handles the situation, rather than if this is true or not (really). what he does in his personal life…um, not so much caring about it so much.

Check out the history of this latest accuser. She fits the mold perfectly…previous history of bankruptcy, evictions and sexual harassment charges. One wonders if it is possible to dummy up cell phone records. Beyond that, there is no evidence of a supposedly thirteen-year-long affair. Hmmmm…..

Watching all these women come out of the woodwork and accusing Hermain Cain, makes me once again ask, "Where are the former girl/boyfriends of Obamas?" We haven't heard from ONE person from his past. I'm not talking about Larry Sinclair here. I am asking about his childhood and school days past including his time spent as an under grad and grad student. It makes no sense at all.

Just wait. When this president is sent packing, the hungry media will then, jump on the story. Just like when HRC was running up against Obama, they tore her apart. Then when she joined forces with Obama in his administration, they liked her and played nice. It's just a matter of time before karma catches up with Obama and all is revealed.

Video: Occupy Dayton rages at Wal-Mart and Target customers

Just listen to the hate. It’s insane. Screaming at Target moms with kids and Wal-mart shoppers and workers with ear-splitting contempt? This is what Occupiers want to be remembered for? Be sure to watch at around the 4:00 minute mark when the cameraman is so outraged he can’t hold his camera straight.

it's too late to do it the 'right' way. of course, if we get to the convention and no one has enough delegates (which won't happen to the Ds, just watch), then someone else can sneak in, realistically. But that's not necessarily the best way to do things. Of course, we are as far from the 'best way to do things' now as we can be…

Pitiful: Only 225 People Show Up for Free Tickets to Obama Event in PA

The failed president will be appearing in Joe Biden’s hometown tomorrow for another campaign appearance on the public dime, and in a sign how hugely unpopular he is only a couple hundred Obamatons lined up to get their free tickets.

I guess they’ll have to bus in some unions goons to make it look as if he’s still got support.

Notice how every time the Obamacrats (the party formerly known as Democratic) are in hot water, they invent some new false construct to try to blame it on conservatives? Maloney just coined "Republican red herring." Back when WJC was fighting the Lewinski sex-in-the-Oval-Office revelations, HRC invented the "Vast right wing conspiracy" construct (which, BTW, she had sort of borrowed from UK leftists). To this day, leftists still invoke that one whenever they don't want to research, think through and better understand an issue for themselves (which is all the time). It's so much easier for leftists to, knee-jerk style, invoke their "right wing nut" glossary of leftist-contrived conspiracy theories, whenever they have to defend their so-called "progressive" ideas (such as more gun control laws that will ultimately penalize only law-abiding citizens who bother permitting and registering firearms, certainly not the criminals who never will). For those who've bothered to follow the details and think it through, the only conspiracy involved with Fast & Furious has been the BO WH/Holder DOJ conspiracy to cover up the fact that this administration deliberately placed assault weapons in the hands of known criminal drug dealers, and that, as a direct result, at least one American and hundreds of Mexican citizens were murdered. But, that's a conspiracy for which there is no term in the leftist "right wing nut" glossary of leftist-contrived conspiracy theories.

It is a shame that they are dragging Cain through the mud.

The thing I like about Cain is that it seems he is not willing to use his wife as a scapegoat/pariah like Bill did to Hillary or Hillary did for Bill. When it comes to taking the heat off of the candidate, too often the wife ends up being the one to do so and she ends up not liked even a little bit by lots of people. I would like to see her in public more. For example, when Carter said (paraphrase) "he lusted for women", the Mrs. deflected the heat by saying that he was a BAC and that was him giving his testimony.
I don't care if he had an affair. IThough I smell a plethora of rats in the mix trying to make sure that Romney gets the nom to keep the national insurance scheme alive so that the crooks in Washington can keep getting their kickbacks). And, it helps the dims to make sure that, you know, they have the ethnic candidate. They will use the GOP against itself by saying how racist they are that they wouldn't nom a black candidate.

The relief is palpable that Cain has a past that can be found out. That he is a working man who came up through the ranks. That he is a business owner. That he understands what it means to be an American. That he knows how many states there are.

We need his business acumen. I will fore go the rest to have someone who really understands business. For sure, it is a steep learning curve but I have the confidence that he is learning it.

I hope that he stays in it to win it.
