If you ever doubted that the Obama administration is attempting to destroy our country, look no further than this article in the Daily Caller, where Mickey Kaus explains how Obama just gutted the Welfare to Work program that was extablished under Clinton.

Why in God’s name would the leader of the free world want to expand the welfare rolls?  To create a dependent class of Americans who NEED the government to survive.  Once you’ve become the nanny to your people, you have complete control over them.

I can’t even imagine WANTING to be on food stamps or WANTING to be on AFDC, but once you are on those programs, why would you even bother trying to find work?

This President and his nanny-state administration are dangerous to this nation.  If this man is allowed four more years in the White House, I’m afraid that our freedoms will be lost forever.

Makes me think of the saying: Just because Col. Sanders keeps the chickens fed, it doesn’t mean he’s their friend.

After reading the article, I’m pretty sure the Oregon water law is similar to Arizona law. My neighbor wanted to do the same thing and could not because the surface water rights (for water that runs off the land) belonged to the first user – the major supplier for the Phoenix metropolitan area. In Arizona, the law does not prevent one from planting vegetation that will utilize rainwater or from installing erosion control.

Whether the law is being unfairly enforced is another issue, but one I cannot address based on a one-sided complaint. More information is needed.

Only people looking for work are counted in the unemployment numbers. Under the welfare reform passed by the Republican Congress that Clinton signed into law, all welfare recipients had to look for work. Now, none has to. They will no longer be counted among the unemployed. Watch for the unemployment numbers to drop, just in time for the electionl

Who wants to go on AFDC? Young women who see pregnancy as a way to escape from home. People from the “you are wonderful” generation who think work is too much work.

I have an acquaintance who was unemployed and unable to find a job. Her skill set was antiquated, but it was not until she was within two weeks of having used her entire two year unemployment that she finally thought about getting some training!

Government wildlife specialists warn people not to feed the bears and other animals because they become too lazy to hunt. So when we hand out free food, free medical care, free cell phones, etc, how are the results any surprise?

I had a co-worker whose sister became a baby mama by choice (sperm donor only – no dad) and then used her pregnancy time to SHOP for the state offering the best welfare benefits. She moved 6 months prior to delivery in order to establish residency and was able to get AFDC (as it was called then), food stamps, WIC benefits, subsidized housing and utilities. She lived in a way that would have required a nondependent person to earn a salary of $40,000 per year before taxes. This woman had a college degree. People who won’t admit that living off others is a lifestyle choice are just plain blind.

The argument used is that an increase use of foodstamps results in spurring the economy. So… if that is the case, why not have everyone on foodstamp? By their logic, the economy will be red-hot and everyone would be wealthy. You want to hear the sound of crickets? Ask this question of Carney. I am sure that his expression will be one worth capturing.

Read near the end of Part II of Atlas Shrugged — it is the detail of what happened at the Twentieth Century Motor Company when “The Plan” was implemented … from each according to his ability, to each according to his need.
