HillBuzz Open Thread, Friday, November 9, 2012

Posted on November 9, 2012 by TheTamminator // Hillbuzz

The election is over.  People are recouping from the shock, and trying to figure out “what’s next?”  I’m not going to be anywhere near the internet for most of the day, so please share your POSITIVE thoughts about our future.  I don’t know how long it will take for comments to get approved, as Kevin is taking a break and I’ve got to work, so don’t be surprised if it takes a while for your comment to be approved.  And if it’s a nasty comment, it will just go in the trash anyway, so don’t waste your time.

Have a great day, and don’t let the election loss get you down too much.  We’re Americans, damn it, and we pick ourselves up and get back in the fight.  Don’t ever forget that.

One bright thing is that the Republicans do hold the House. Unless they sign off on it, the debt ceiling cannot be raised. If they have courage, they can use that to extract meaningful concessions. Their record in this has not necessarily been good, but they are meeting this week to discuss what to do in the coming weeks. We should let them know what we want. My current and incoming representatives are both Republicans. They are going to hear from me.

We can still stop this. We need one or two reps to object at the electoral vote counting. Something Pelosi never gave anyone the chance to do. I haven’t heard anyone talk about this yet. The secret message in the Torah says the outcome will be reversed.

On Wednesday, I was asking who, when, where the theme got started about the polls being nefariously skewed … so I searched for “skewed polls” and after about an hour, which is all I could put into it, I have concluded this:
    (1) It started at Breitbart with a column by Mike Flynn on July 24, 2012 discussing the NBC/WSJ poll released that day. That was the poll with the infamous +11 D sample weighting.
    (2) On August 6, FOX Campaign Insiders — Pat Caddell, Doug Schoen, John Leboutlier (?) — picked up the theme and discussed it in some depth, depth for a 20-min time slot anyway. During this show, Caddell and Schoen made some pretty strong statements about how the polling organizations were committing malpractice etc. with the way they were weighting their samples. They, FOX guys, were assuming that the 2008 voter turnout was an aberration.
    (3) The week of Sept. 23, the theme exploded across the internet, which is when I began to hear about it.
    (4) The polls ended up being very close to correct.

What does all this mean? I don’t really know, but it does make me want to throw up my hands and say FIE! on all so-called experts. For a day or so there, I was wondering whether leftists set up the theme just to dupe us, but I dont’ think so now. Unless Flynn and Caddell are receiving secret paychecks from George Soros … just kidding …

What I learned on Tuesday night is that the expectations and values I hold for myself and for my country are not shared with the majority of those who voted. That’s a shift in the making for decades and it has now come to fruition.

I have decided that there is little I can do from the top down to affect that, but that there’s a lot I can do from the bottom up to affect at least my little corner of the world. In the coming months and years there are going to be a lot of hurting people. They are going to need examples of a better way to live life. They are going to need people in their lives to provide a “non-anxious presence.”

I am reminded of the chorus of a song from nearly 20 years ago that has made a major impact on my life:

    Light your world.
Let the love of God shine through
In the little things you do
    Light your world.
And though your light may be reaching only two or three
    Light your world.

Lighting up “the” world is a formidable task. Lighting “my” world is a lot more doable. My family. My co-workers. My friends. My community. My world.

    Join me?

I’m just a self-employed (barely) homeschooling mom on the west side of Indy. There are so many wise, active people here at Hillbuzz! I refuse to sit by and let my country be destroyed. I haven’t given up hope yet….mostly thanks to Kevin, Tamminator and others here! I just need direction…..any advice on how, where to get involved! Our local Tea Party seems to be an underground operation! Website hasn’t been updated for months. Our local Republican group is just the same old white guys that are the sons of the previous 100 years of old white guys!

Need some words of wisdom!! Please!

      Christa -
If your local Republican group is mostly old white guys, then they’re ripe to be taken over – without younger people coming in to take over, the local group will just fade away. Two years ago (2010 election cycle) I joined a similar local R group. Most of the regulars were older, but that year through to this, a lot more younger people have started to take responsibility in the local party organization, while learning the work involved in local party building and grassroots political activity – and we are less of a social club than the older group, and more about making the Rs the reliably conservative party.

So my suggestion is to attend a meeting or two, see if there;s anyone there you can partner with to start taking over from the old fellas. And don’t discount them – they can be a fount of knowledge as some of them were grassroots activists for Goldwater or Reagan when they were young.

Kevin was 100% correct in his pre-election analysis, with the exception of calling a limited black turnout. We all saw the same things: the crowds, the enthusiasm, Obama acting very much like he knew he was going to lose. I spoke with one of my state reps who had access to nat’l polling, and they were very confident going into Tues.

We didn’t pay enough attention to the vote flipping. We didn’t do enough homework on how these machines are basically run with online casino software. The VA and FL #’s were the tell that this thing was rigged. I’ve heard the margin got down to the exact # of disputed votes in the 2000 election there, before Obama’s #’s took off again. Maybe someone can confirm that. It’s was like they were taunting us — just because they could.

The problem with Obama is that he has so many glaring flaws, the shadow people that manage him have to come out of hiding to intervene on his behalf time and again, thus exposing themselves. Every time they do, they simply alert more people to their prescence, and they increase the resentment at the fraud they have perpetrated on this nation. We didn’t believe they would be so audacious as to steal an election, but they pulled it off. Allen West is the only GOP rep standing up to the deception and exposing it. He may very well win his race now.

I do not accept this result, and I do not accept this fraud in my White House.

Brook, have you spoken to your representative since the election? I would love to know what their reaction is to the election – if they are simply stunned, or if they believe (and are willing to say) that the election was rigged. If one representative can admit it, maybe there are others as well.

I just want to thank you and Kevin for doing such a great job. You gave me hope and kept me going through most of this cycle. Of course I feel sick right now and am just wondering why… But we indeed are America and we have been through civil war, the Great Depression, 9-11, etc.

There is always hope. I’m so happy that we had a chance to see that there are still people like with a Romney/Ryan in politics and we are not alone – at least 58 million of us are out there. They will forever be the “ones that got away” for me.

The Progressives will eventually eat their own and implode. You can’t have that many nasty people in one rats nest without something happening to all of them. It’s just a damned shame that the foxes have settled into the henhouse and now it’s going to take an exterminator to get them out.

As this is an Open Thread -
I hope and pray that Kevin is taking a proper and, if necessary, long rest from the outstanding, hard work he did.
There is much to think about, much to analyse, but we all need some quiet time, we need to step back, not get caught up in recriminations, and not get caught up in the games the corrupt MSM are playing.

Thank you, tamminator, you’ve been working your socks off as well. So if moderation takes a bit longer – so what!
Let this Open thread stand over the weekend, and get a bit of a rest yourself as well.

We can’t afford that our best people run themselves into the ground!

In the spirit of HillBuzz – what about some ground reports on the emotions and situations where you all live?

My mom fell on Monday night, hurt herself pretty damn bad. She had major surgery on Tuesday morning. I left the hospital for two hours in the afternoon to vote. I voted even though millions stayed home. I will never get it.

Tuesday and Wednesday were touch and go for my mom. She was better yesterday, and this morning we are optimistic about a full recovery. THAT is the positive news for the future in my life.

Nothing ended for us on Tuesday. It was only the beginning.

“These are the times that try men’s souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.”
“Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated.” Thomas Paine

I am a fiscal conservative and I personally have no debt. Financially, the decision of the voters is a catastrophe. The economy is about to be the whipping boy of partisan infighting.

However, there are a number of advantages to Obama’s victory.

    1. The Supreme Court has been making awful decisions lately (i.e. strip searches for parking tickets, unlimited soft money, etc.). I think I’d trust Obama’s court more than I would Romney’s. Obama will hopefully focus on civil rights, which have taken a sharp haircut under the Roberts court.

    2. The House is not in Obama’s hands, so he won’t be getting into the sort of trouble that he did in 2008. We’ve returned divided government to power. Hopefully, they will spend more time fighting one another than they will plundering our lives, liberty, and property. It is now obvious that neither party can be trusted to solely hold the reigns of power, and our safety lies in their mutual contempt. This is to be encouraged.

    3. Benghazi is going to keep the Executive quite occupied for the immediate future, which will hopefully keep them otherwise out of mischief. Alas, the impact for the Arab Spring will not be good. Nixon fell over a burglary, and he took South Vietnam with him – and what happened here is infinitely more serious than a burglary. Sometimes I wonder how many Vietnamese Samsungs were lost over one night in a hotel. A deft and artful foreign policy might bring major portions of the Arab world into economic power and prosperity, but such is obviously too much to expect from the current administration, especially if it’s under pressure.

    4. And, finally, as I said in the last article posted, the 47% is about to get an object lesson in the direct financial consequences of their votes. The low-income WalMart and McDonalds supporters are about to face a $695 Obamacare penalty unless they herd like cattle into the state insurance exchanges. Either way, their disposable income is also about to take a haircut. The only logical reason that Romney didn’t drive this home is because he secretly had no intention of repealing his own plagiarized health care system.

It appears that the angst and upheaval of the sequester-related issues are about to shove the head of the economy underwater. Since we have tripled the money supply in the various rounds of QE, it is unlikely that we will avoid a severe backdraft of inflation as it dissolves the value of most of the nation’s assets. We are about to spend four years preoccupied with money, and the consequences of managing it badly.

Still, it could be a great deal worse.

Vietnam was the work of LBJ.

Nixon might have fallen over a burglary, but in truth it was the coverup that took him. Nixon should not have been ousted over something so minor as a burglary.

Have a really good and close look at the difference.

As for trusting Obama’s picks in the Supreme Court – are you crazy?

It is almost impossible right now to have any positive thoughts regarding what was the United States Of America, the fact that our own people voted us into slavery still resonates in my heart and soul. All that said, life goes on and the reality is we must adapt to the new normal of life in America, the question is how do we do this? I’m afraid there is no easy or obvious answer to our dilemma and how we deal with it,I think part of the answer is to change our tactics by adopting some of the tactics used against us by the institutional left, fighting fire with fire if you will. Some would argue that in doing this we become more like them, and in some ways I would agree that is true but the reality is the ends may justify the means. For far to long we conservatives have been too passive in our response to the lies and hate perpetrated on us by the institutional left, this is I believe the single largest reason we find our selves in the position we are in today. So let’s reboot, let’s re-think our approach ….let’s FIGHT BACK hard and if we have to DIRTY,let’s take this country back by employing the same tactics they used on us ! There are plenty of us freedom loving Americans out there, millions of us really, let us unite together and begin TODAY the long slow fight to take our country back to the ideals upon which it was founded,it can be done.

Glad to hear Kevin is taking a break. He so deserves it!

I am trying to stay positive by creating a strategy of the ways I can instill the values of my husband and myself into our daughter.

I was debating whether she was too young (5th grade) to attend the March for Life in Washington DC this coming January (Fri.1/25/13) and was also hesitant to pull her out of school for the day. But I think it is more important for her to experience being part of a group of over 250,000 (the numbers last year were estimated to be even higher) standing up for the paramount social justice value (according to the USCCB) of the right to life. We may watch a few minutes of the inauguration so she can see the size of the crowd. Then just a few days later she can contrast the size of the Pro-Obama crowd on 1/21 with the size of the crowd marching for life.

Since we live near Philadelphia and I have always considered the area around Independence Hall to be among our nation’s most sacred spaces, I want to make sure she really knows our history. We will again visit Independence Hall, Valley Forge, Brandywine Battlefield and other historic places so she undertands what our founders fought and died for. In our discussions since she was about 5 years old we have compared our government with that of her birth country of China. I will continue to try to teach her the principles of our founding fathers and point out the ways in which these principles contrast with the communist system in China.Although we do not homeschool, she attends a Catholic school. We are looking at moving her from our parish school to a private Catholic school next year. Even in Catholic school it has become a battle to defend traditional values in subjects like social studies and science when her textbooks hold up women such as Ruth Bader Ginsberg or the discredited Rachel Carson as role models. But I will not give up! Whenever I come across such nonsense in her texts she is going to hear the opposite point of view from her parents. Hopefully some of it will stick. I know my parents’ activism in the pro-life movement and their witness of sheltering several single, teen mothers left a lasting impression on me.

Republicans should use their control over state governments to push back against decades of overreach by the Federal government, time for the 9th and 10th Amendments to mean something again!

Oklahoma voted overwhelmingly in 2010 on a measure to “opt out” of Obamacare. Not sure what Gov. Fallin will do when push comes to shove and the feds attempt to force it on us anyway. Hopefully she’s more than just a pretty face.

No matter what Oklahoma does as a state, however, I’ll still be penalized, beginning in 2014, for the grievous offense of not having health insurance. Hell, I don’t remember the last time I could afford to eat two full meals a day. Where the living eff am I supposed to get $695 (or more) THAT I DON’T HAVE??? Pull it out of my butt?

The big mistake they made with Obamacare is in taking away our right to choose. Had they offered it as simply another option, people would have flocked to it voluntarily. But no, they had to FORCE it on us.

I even have successful business women friends who voted “O” because they thought their women’s rights were in jeopardy if Romney was elected. As if he’d have time to focus on such mundane things as he was trying to salvage our economy.

Same here. My sister-in-law is a pro-life Christian, and yet voted for Obama because she was afraid of losing her birth control, and didn’t want to vote for a Mormon. I told her, “Way to go, Judas! You sold out millions of unborn souls, to be murdered on YOUR dime, because you voted with your lady parts instead of your lady smarts. I sure hope your 30 pieces of silver are worth the guilt. YOU are what’s wrong with this country…you think no further than your own vagina. that is because those women were projecting their own stupidity onto Sarah Palin.

I’m sorry Kevin is so disheartened. It seems like his sources were feeding him alot of misleading info.

I suggest that going forward we work on two projects..

    1. Making sure that Christie pays for his stunt. I’d suggest a series of Booker vs Christie comparisons… Superman vs. Doughboy or something.

    2. Pointing out that Rubio is an empty suit and that we shouldn’t nominate him just cause of his skin tone.

The Republican Party has a. lost it’s base b. ashamed of its base c. doesn’t have a base anymore. take your pick. It’s time for those in charge to don their smoking jackets and retire to the club with a cocktail. New leadership is needed. A new definition of “the base” is needed. Why alienate the Libertarians? they can’t get anywhere on their own and they share a concept of personal freedom with most Republicans.

We are embarking on 4 years of a mammoth increase in regulations that will not only stifle business and medicine, but will impinge on each and every person in this country. The Libertarians should have stood with Romney and would have if the Powers in Charge had realised their arguments were wrong….that the millions of dollars spent on commercials were wasted because they didn’t address the right things. Conservatives, Evangelicals and Libertarians all feel the same way about personal freedoms. They just disagree on WHICH personal freedoms and need to undrstand that it is freedom itself that is in jeopardy here.

Excuse me but 58,000,000 votes say we still have a base. We just need to do a much better job of converting the Philistines. Like i said before Obama got 6.5 million fewer votes in 2012 than in 2008. Romney got 2 million more than McCain.

As someone from one of the counties that borders Philly I am so disgusted with the voters in Philly. It is sinful in a sense given the great history of Philadelphia-the city where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were drawn up. These 2 documents have been a light to the entire world for over 200 years and I may sound like a religious nut but I believe God blessed Philadelphia and this country in a special way. God will not be mocked and we are going to suffer the consequences.

Sorry-don’t know why this showed up here-it was supposed to be a comment for the PA owns Philly comment above.

As for Romney getting less voted than McCain-I honestly believe part of that is a matter of changing demographics. My dad died since the last election and my mom was not able to get out to vote last Tuesday-ticks me off because the nursing home she lives in was supposed to help her obtain an absentee ballot and told me not to worry about it-wouldn’t have made a difference here in PA and I reassured her saying God knows what was in her heart. But my point it the older generation -people in their late 70s and 80s tend to vote more conservative and in the last 4 years we have lost many of their votes through death and disability/dementia. COntrast that with the young-first time voters who voted overwhelmingly for Obama. Then there is also the real possibility that many evangelicals did in fact decide to stay home because they refused to vote for a Mormon.

estimates vary of how many, but romney got fewer votes than mccain, not more.

and no. that 58M is not a true representation of the republican base. i changed my registration to unaffiliated after bush signed the patriot act and i will never go back to that party. those of us who value liberty vote for republicans only because the alternative is worse.

the GOP is dead to me now. at least at the federal level. i will waste not another minute of my time on federal government. oh, i’ll vote, but that’s it.

from now on, my efforts will be at the local and state level.we have been betrayed by every branch of the federal government. state nullification is our only hope now, and it’s a bright hope.

I stumbled across this quote yesterday:
“When it comes to your success and happiness, what happens in your house matters more than who is in the White House.” And really, Barack Obama can’t stop any of us from being the best we can be. Stay strong and look UP. We’re still smarter than the opposition, so we’ll survive (a few of us will thrive, which will really piss off the left) the next four years.

The positive thought is the Obamacare can be weakened if we get our Governors to understand (and I think they just might). To purchase the exchanges is THEN to be taxed. It appears Wisconsin (and thank goodness my state has Gov. Scott Walker)–is poised to set up firewalls et al to make WI a great haven for small businesses and families who want to live the American dream.

THIS made me feel great about the next four years. States taking back their rights and using them. It will be a silent revolution. I love it!! Help your individual state and become active on ground level to fight those that profit from Obamacare–and win!!

    Blessings to each of you.

Okay…I have one positive thought for today.

Wednesday night, I stopped by a friends house to drop something off to her. Her family are raging Dems, but her & I agree to disagree and have a great relationship on every other level. Anyway, her husband greeted me at the door and we had some lighthearted banter going on and then he told me I needed to stop the hate & racism. I asked him if he was calling me, personally, a racist and he said, “Yes. The only reason you don’t like Obama is because he’s Black.” Now I have know this couple for almost 15 years, spent lots of time with them and I thought he knew me enough as a person to know I don’t have a racist bone in my body. Anyway, I told him that I would see his wife from now on, but never him…ever again!

So, I’m POSITIVE I will not miss this bastard one single day from here on out. He’s retired and I think he spends his days watching MSNBC, rather than volunteering to make the world a better place. My husband doesn’t care for him anyway, so yet another problem solved!

Unfortunately, as a country, we might have to get close to
rock bottom before we can right the ship.

I still believe there was massive voter fraud involved in Obama
winning this election, the numbers don’t add up. That said,
there were still millions of low or no information voters who voted
    for free stuff.

Years past with legal immigration, people came to this country
to contribute. Now, with both legal and illegal immigration, people come to this country to take.

We have to let this cycle play out. I fear that economically things
will get really bad for those of us who work. Government will not reign in spending so taxes will be raised. We conservative citizens have to find a way to take care of our own. And we must find ways to bleed the progressives financially. I will not patronize establishments or pay for services owned by lefties. Hopefully,
someone can give us a list. A suggestion for Glenn Beck perhaps.

I will probably receive a lot of “disapproval” comments for saying this, however, I am saying it anyway. I am the sucker who always
contributes to charity and am shoving a $20.00 bill into the hands of the person with a sign outside my car door as I am exiting
the highway ramp. NO MORE! Not one dime. Through internet
sources, I find out how much the “poor” receive from the govt.
It is mindboggling. And I thought I was helping people; they are
probably laughing at all of us.

I will continue to contribute to military charities and close to home
fundraisers and some other things. And not one dime to the Red
Cross. Perhaps I will send them a can of Spam.

Coming to this site and reading all the comments and posting my own has been enlightening and cathartic. Thanks to all of you
who make our days a little brighter.

This might be negative, so please trash it if you deem it so!

I can’t understand why President Obama can’t compromise with the Congress to get a budget deal. President Clinton did it with a solid Republican House and Senate, working with Newt Gingrich of all people. Obama can’t even cut a deal with John Boehner.

I think the reason is this: Clinton loved the wheeling and dealing of politics — the smoke-filled rooms, the late night deals, the booze, the cigars, the detail oriented work — he liked politicians, he liked deals that benefit both parties, he liked give and take.

President Obama seems to dislike politicians, disdaining them even — he much prefers the company of celebrities. He doesn’t enjoy the give and take and dealmaking, not to mention the detail oriented work that goes along with it.

Clinton and Obama are both narcissists, both abandoned by their fathers, and both decided early in life (as a consequence, I think) to make themselves the most powerful person in the world.

Differences: Obama’s psychological damage is deeper because of abandonment by his mother also, and by having a hard-left ideologue as a mentor. His nostalgia over his Indonesian childhood further alienates himself from the United States and adds to his sense that he is destined to save the country from itself.

Both seek adulation, but Clinton is different in that he apparently likes people, or at least has an ability to make people think he likes them. I don’t see Obama as someone who really likes very many people or is much liked by them. He’s not a people person; he just acts like one when he has to.

Clinton is smarter and works harder (although he apparently didn’t at Oxford). He knew that working with the Republicans (if grudgingly sometimes) could actually enhance his popularity as a leader.

Obama isn’t smart enough to learn that his ideas might be wrong, and he’s too arrogant to try learning from others. I’ve read that he didn’t like being a senator because he hated having to listen to other people’s ideas. He sincerely believes that his ideas are beyond fault and he doesn’t need to listen to anybody.

Even if he did want to work with Republicans, his handlers (Jarrett, Axerodent, et al.) would put their foot down. They are Marxists, and therefore they don’t play nice.

Meanwhile, we need to work on rebuilding or taking back the culture. It may be too late to spare America—and the world—some great suffering. But suffering can be helpful in forcing people to face reality, to wake up, to rediscover what is truly important.

Good morning friends. I think it’s high time we start planning a way to swing the political momentum back to our side. What I’m talking about is a long-term plan similar to the leftists’ plan over the past 50 years or so. How can we influence education and make it to where economics and the constitution are emphasized? How can we gain more clout in the media other than FOX (while turning FOX more right). Why can’t we have our own cheerleading network like the left has MSNBC? We need to think of ways to revamp the GOP brand in the minds of
our citizens. I believe we have the better message. We just need to realize that we no longer live in a country that thinks on substance but rather emotion. We can change that long-term but in the short-term I believe we need to start appealing to the emotions of our voters. We also need to think of ways to take back blue states. I think it is utterly ridicoulous that the GOP has basically given up huge states like California and it’s 55 votes. It limits our options. Long-term, we need to take states like California back? While all of this may seem daunting to
older folks, I’m fairly young and can’t wait to fight for this country. Remember, clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose!!! Have a good day everyone! Let’s start TODAY taking the United States back!

If you know where the universities are in Ohio you will see that the blue areas coincide with those universities. The liberals have infested our universities for decades. They were mostly farmers and craftsmen with wives cut from the same broad cloth. They lost farms, went broke, moved on and started over.

Lessee, positive thoughts… I’m on this.

    1. Skyfall is coming out soon — handsome Daniel Craig on the big screen, guns, trains, and hopefully a killer vehicle.

    2. Despite being chilly, the weather is pretty good here.

    3. College football is still going on and there is a chance that my team will be bowl eligible this year. A BIG shocker compared to last two years.

    4. The work project that would not end is over; just waiting on the results.

    5. We have lived through four years of Obama and have survived. We are halfway through. We have new friends and a support system that we didn’t have last time.

    6. Obama got less votes than he did last time. It was “enough”, but we know that there was a degree of buyer’s remorse.

    7. Obama’s cohorts said, from Breitbart reporting If I recall correctly, that it wasn’t really possible to bottle the “magic” for other Democratic candidates. It’s a cult of personality is what I get from that.

    8. We are awake to the things that are going on around us now. Consider the first term as boot camp. Now we know the ropes and the depths to which our opponents will sink. Now we carry on and fight for what is right.

    9. We all got the chance to find out what Mitt Romney was made of — and I’m really proud to have someone that kind and intelligent as a countryman.

    10. If at first, you don’t succeed, you try again. We are still alive, have a degree of health, and a soul burning to do the right thing — we just have to keep moving.

And let us remember that despite how we feel (I’ll admit to a couple of crying jags), we still have men and women in the military, police, firefighters, the FBI, CIA, and the Secret Service that need our thoughts and prayers. We have to be strong for them and their families.

Best wishes to you all. Life goes on and so do we. We endure.

Glad to hear that Kevin is taking a well-deserved break — he worked so hard and needs the rest.

No matter what happens, God is in charge.

I have my family. My husband has a job. We have a roof over our heads, clothes on our backs, and food on our table.

We have our health, and there are ways I can continue to figure out how to make us more self-sufficient.

Praying and studying about how He wants us to proceed.

“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience. 6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. 7 Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.” ~ Romans 13:1-7

I don’t know what God is going to do with all this, but I will trust Him.

As I helped my wife (a very classy young lady of the South – Gone with the Wind is one of her favorite movies) gather up the Romney signs with a fine glass of wine (and a tear in her eye) we discussed the future. I am a medical planner by trade as I have worked many years doing Federal response to disasters (Active duty side of the house NOT FEMA) I think many should start to take action for the personal lives to better protect their families. Now while I am not calling for a scene from ‘Red Dawn’ – “WOLVERENES!” to fall upon us at this time, I do believe it should make everyone take a step back and make sure you could survive at least a month without fuel/power/food/water. Please take a few minutes and discuss with your family (parents/loveones) how they could prepare if something were to happen. For one example we have made it a goal of ours no matter what to be debt free by this time next year. Much to my wifes displeasure that means buying less wine (although I doubt I will win this argument in the end ;) Work more towards having at least a min cash amount laying around for extreme emergencies and I am going out and buying some extra gas cans for that just in case moment. So if we don’t end up using it – I have fuel for the snow blower or the lawn mower either way. Have a spare couple propane tanks for use in a grill or extra bags of charcoal with outdoor usable pots and pans (they sell cheap sets at any big box store for camping). Also along with some extra bottled water and can goods grab some water cleansing kits. These are pretty inexpensive and they last forever on the shelf. So if you never use them great – but better just to have stored in case.

I say all of this not to scare the heck out of people but what we are seeing in New York and New Jersey as well as New Orleans after Katrina is a matter of pure and simple people assuming wrongly that the ‘Gov-ment’ is our savior. This is a crazy notion that the very people that run the DMV will be the ones to rescue millions in need if something bad really does happen. Just do some financial planning and physical planning and be preparred to get ready for a potential issue. Pray it does not ever happen but if it does be ready. That is what our family is doing – along with a couple up and coming purchases of new hand guns/ammo and rifle. But that is another story. ;)

Happy Veterans day everyone and please take a moment to thank those who have given so much for this great country. I work everyday with the Wounded Warriors and trust me – I am in awe over what they have given. Pray for their families. Thanksgiving is coming up and Xmas and soon I will have some info for those who would like to give just a little something to those who are here trying to get their lives back in order after coming back home. Just yesterday I saw a new soldier that just began his PT program to get back his life. Both arms and one leg gone. The other leg maybe 50% usable. He was at the most 20 years old. I looked him in the eye as he was getting his meal, with his young wife in tow helping him, and I told him thank you. He without hesitation said thank you sir, and carried on still proud to be in uniform. As I walked away smartly I wept. Not for the obvious reason of seeing what I saw as ‘feeling sorry for him and his family’ but because at that moment I knew we would be okay. It is that generation that will save us from ourselves. God bless us and the US of A!

Thanks you Tam and Kev. I have found a new home to express my love for this country. Plus honestly your hummor has kept my wife from going over the deep end here lately. Keep your head up and remember that the good guys always win in the end.

I recomend watching Sound of Music over the weekend – we did last night and it was great to feel good again. I could feel myself welt up when the head nun sang ‘Climb Every Mountain’.

Personally, I would love to help. Too often I think we don’t know how to help and end up doing nothing.

As regards the hurricane. We had an ice storm and lost the power for quite some time. We corralled the kids by the fire and survived but somehow, this time was different. There was a fear that didn’t exist the last time, can’t explain it. One thing that happened with the hurricane was the complete lack of useful information. It’s nice the politicians all want to talk but the talk radio guys were giving you nothing much. Some were able to go back to work and get snippets of information on the internet but that information was largely inaccurate since when you went to work you quickly figured out that more people didn’t have power than you thought cause the information on the internet was perhaps wishful thinking. My friend literally had starfish on her walls and fish floating in her living room.

The Silver Lining is that we can solve the problems that lead to the loss in the first place. The “Cocktail Party” republicans lost this election for us. Romney was the right man, but the people running his campaign had it wrong. The media and establishment repubs told us the loss was due to changing demographics—but that was not why we lost. We lost because of ineffective messaging, ineffective technology, letting the media and the Obama campaign falsely define Romney and the Republicans–Our message is and always will be about FREEDOM. The American people, regardless of their race, religion, sexual orientation—-do not want to trade FREEDOM for free stuff.

We can have a new “Reagan” era for years to come starting now,

The real story of the elections was how much support Obama lost.
Yes, they had a superior ground game and had a savvy geek squad. But I think they won because of simple ideas. These ideas are most evident in the youth vote which they won by a larger margin than in 2008. If you look at the US population —there a is a large percentage of people who do not register to vote and of those who are registered, there is a large percentage who do not vote. Simple idea —register more people–and get more people who are registered to vote. The Obama campaign held many rallys near colleges–( huge populations of young people easy to pump up democratic registration). The rallys were held near areas where student could vote or they bused them directly from the rally to the voting location for early voting. Very simple idea.

Correction, the youth vote (age 19 to 29) made up a larger percentage of the total vote by 1%. But the good news—even with all the “handholding” the Obama campaign used to get out their youth vote—they won by less 24% in 2012 vs. 35% in 2008. That is great news considering the Obama campaign specifically targeted black univerisities and then directed them or bused them to the voting sites. It is my understanding that the conservatives did not even try to target the youth vote, yet were able to capture 11% more than in 2008. Eyes are opening–the popular vote was lost by a small margin. The small ideas–free birth control, relaxed tuition assistance, increasing entitlements—–they will lose when faced with the Obama administratrions ecomonic collapse and failed policies.

We lost a battle but not by much. Let’s remember that the popular vote was 60 million to 57 million. This was a better ratio than in 2008 where it was 69 million to 59 million. Republicans made gains at the state level. They should improve conditions in their states as much as possible. In 2 years we can point to the difference between Republican led states and Democrat lead states as validation for our ideas. Voter ID laws need to be promoted as much as possible and every excuse that the Justice Department is using to block them in states under the Voter Rights Act pre-approval provisions need to resolved.

Agree about the states, I’ve become convinced over the last few days that there was alot more voter fraud than any of us knew. Reading accounts of republican poll watchers being thrown out, harrassed, trying to block their view—–Why would anyone do that unless they are doing something they don’t want anyone to see?
Not sure if the fraud affected the outcome of the presidential race, but it easily can affect a house seat—-read the account of what Allen West is facing in Florida—someone posted a link in the comment section, West’s lawyer, who was a lawyer for Kerrey in 04 said he had never seen anything like it. I think the Chicago thug machine exported their corrupt tactics to urban black swing state precints. I am not a racist and I believe most of us (of all races) just want everyone who is legally allowed to vote and lives in a precinct to have one vote. Unfortunately, we will be called racist, look what has happened to “True to Vote”. Regardless, we still have to fight this.

We need to encourage our states to audit the voter roles—randomly call voters( in all precincts) who are listed as voting and verify they did vote. There are I live in Oklahoma, we have voter id and I do not believe there is widespread voter fraud here. I am afraid these tactics will spread to other states if we don’t do something about it.

I don’t know what to say. Boil it all down to this.

By his own admission Obama has declared a war on coal, that provides jobs and about half of our electricity. In spite of that the United Mine Workers voted for him anyway as did coal states like Ohio and Pa.

Obama cut the subsidy that kept the price of the Medicare supplement plan to $100 a month or in some cases free. It will now raise to at least $300+ a month or more, a cost I verified with an insurance agent at church. Seniors voted for him anyway.

Obama has declared a war on Roman Catholics by demanding they cover abortion and birth control. Preists spoke on this the Sunday before the election and asked their parishioners to vote otherwise. Catholics voted overwhlmingly for Obama anyway.

I could go on and on but what do you do when on election day folks vote for people that will do away with them, their way of life, their means of support, and their ability to afford to stay healthy?

Does anyone here understand why the military votes are suppressed every election? Every election we hear that the ballots won’t get back in time for a number of unexplained reasons. A day before this election three GOP senators wrote a letter to the DOD about the problem. A day late and a dollar short. Why isn’t this fixed? Who’s in charge of this? It’s unbelievable.

Military and provisional ballots are usually only counted when the total could effect the outcome. Example – Allen West is forcing them to count the military ballots in St. Lucie and West Palm Beach. The democrats are not happy about it.

I’ve heard Romney had a victory speech but no concession speech. I’ve heard Obama had a concession speech but no victory speech.

They are also floating a story that the romney campaign credit cards didn’t work immediately after the speech. They are saying they couldn’t pay for their cab rides home or their hotel bills and of course, saying Romney did this personally.

I think he knew he had been sabotaged from within. Sarah Palin knew that Steve and Nicole were sabotaging her. She was smart enough to realize it on the Katie Couric interview. If you are a good and decent person it never occurs to you that others might not be good and decent, this was Romney’s essential problem. But it was also his strength. It enabled him to tackle things everyone else feared but it may have been his downfall.

Just a theory: Maybe he didn’t really want to win. Sure, he hated the idea of losing because he wants to be the most popular guy ever. But he found out that actually being president is harder than he realized, and he doesn’t want to do the work (insofar as he was doing work to begin with) and doesn’t want to be held accountable for failure.

Maybe he realizes that his policies are really not helping people, but he has no intention of changing them, and he might actually be afraid of being an even bigger failure after eight years (when it’s harder to blame the Bush tax cuts).

But his handlers need him to carry on as the front man for their evil work.

    What’s next?

While I do not believe we lost the election because of demographics. Hillbuzz list the various democratic subgroups of Identity blocks under “The Tolerant Left”. We can find a way to present our message to these groups in a positive way. The election showed that some progress has been made with the Jewish and Catholic blocks. Obama recieved a lower percentage of their vote because they realize the Obama administration has policies that threaten their freedom.

Kevin empasizes the importance of the words we use (ie using “leftie” rather than “liberal”, etc.
Frank Luntz, a repub pollster has done a study which backs this up.
For example: while “Capitalism” is a positive term to me, some demographic groups have been indoctorinated with a negative image of that word . The simple phrase “Economic Freedom” is much more positively received and inspiring.
How about the importance of “being able to pursue opportunities without goverment imposed limitations”, rather than “getting rid of government regulations”. We need to determine the best wordage to use —that will convey our positive mesage, and inspire Americans our path for America is the best one. Ronald Reagan did this flawlessly, that is why he was called “The Great Communicator”.

We also need to rebrand the Republican name in a positive way.
I always wonder if the “I’m a Mormon” campaign is working. If it has had the effect of Americans seeing LDS in a more positive way, could we use the same idea —featuring eveyday conservative Hispanics, Blacks, Gays, etc. in the “I’m a Republican” campaign. What will happen when more Americans realize the dem message that we on the right are not “racist, biggots, homophobs”? This is going to take time and we need to start now. We will define who we are—not minitrue, the dems, or the “cocktail party”.

This morning the DOD sent out a bulletin announcing Leon Panetta’s trip to Asia. He will be stopping off in Perth Australia first to meet with Hilary Clinton, Dempsey who is the head of the joint chiefs of staff, and Admiral Locklear who is the head of the pacific fleet. Is this an indication of lines being drawn in the sand over Benghazi? The WSJ and Atlanticwire have alluded to the possibility of David Petraeus being thrown under the bus for the debacle. Information has been leaked that he allegedly went to see a private screening of Argo the evening of 9/11. So if obama went to bed that night and Petraeus went to the movies, who was in the situation room?

Since no one in the GOP has been screaming about massive voter fraud or demanding any recounts is it possible that a bigger, quieter plan was actually in place? If obama and biden are impeached over Benghazi, John Boehner becomes the President and succession then goes to Daniel Innoye, Hilary Clinton, and Leon Panetta. If obama is removed from office for criminal charges, it limits rioting over Romney winning the election, and it moves Hilary that much closer to the Presidency. I personally think a Boehner/ Hilary presidency would be perfect. At the moment I think Boehner has no balls. I also refuse to believe that more than half of the US actually supports obama. The GOP has been far to willing to throw in the towel and reach across the aisle- something is definitely up with that!

As for GOP not screaming about massive fraud: because they just don’t do that. They know they’d be jeered by the media, called sore losers, blamed for dragging the country through another Bush/Gore scenario (even though Gore started that), etc. And what authority would investigate? God sent his Son, They called him Jesus
He came to love heal and forgive
He lived and died to buy my pardon
An empty grave is there to prove
    My Savior lives

Because he lives I can face tomorrow
Because he lives all fear is gone
Because I know He holds the future
And life and is worth the living
    Just because He lives

How sweet to hold a newborn baby
And feel the pride and joy he gives
But greater still the calm assurance
This child can face uncertain days
    Because He lives

And then one day I’ll cross the river
I’ll fight life’s final war with pain
And then as death gives way to victory
I’ll see the lights of glory and I’ll know he lives.

    Positive thoughts:

    1. Barack Obama got 10.4 million fewer votes than he did in 2008.

    2. We’re at a 20-year high for states with GOP governors. That means (a) that we can get some great stuff done at the state level (like fighting ObamaCare and getting voter ID), and it also shows us that (b) it’s not the GOP; it’s the Lame Stream Media. When it’s not paying attention to races, we kick arse.

    3. We kept control of the House. See above re: Lame Stream Media. They can demonise Romney, a few Senators, Allen West, and Sarah Palin, but they can’t attack us all.

    4. Remember 2008? REMEMBER 2008? We were told that conservatism was dead. Four years later, we have the Tea Party, an amazing bench of people for 2016 (Paul Ryan, Nikki Haley, Allen West, Marco Rubio, Susana Martinez, oh I could go on and on), and a strong conservative blogosphere. Think of how far we’ve come and just imagine what we can accomplish in another four years. In many ways, I’m more discouraged than in 2008 (because Obama’s failures have been on display), but am more encouraged, because we’re growing and the other side is on the decline. This is the high water mark for them. They WILL live to regret reelecting Obama.

I also think if we had a slogan, not sure what,—”Choose Freedom 2016″, “Remember John Gault’ or we could come up with something better– similar to the KONY campaign—where people’s curiosity was aroused.

I’m struggling to find some positive thoughts about all this. But I think I’ve finally come up with one in spirit of going John Galt . . . next year my husband and I hope to celebrate our wedding anniversary by taking a vacation . . . in Iceland. We’ll be spending our money, if we manage to save enough, somewhere else that isn’t a state in the United States.

I sense more spiritualism on the part of the right. People on the right are thinking that, to win this battle, it will take something bigger than themselves. Whether this thought brings divine intervention, or if it just brings clarity of focus, is immaterial.

Many who voted for Obama expect things to be given to them. When they realize that things are getting worse, they will leave the Leftist farm in droves. Even union members, many who are captive to their union bosses, will realize that a government body cannot give them money that is not there. States and cities cannot print money.

Considering how fickle and selfish many Obama voters are, it may not take very long for them to wake up. It may be rough for a while, but we shall prevail.

I just finished listening to Bill Whittle’s “A New Beginning” on YouTube. Although I don’t agree with 100% of what he said, I agree with him wholeheartedly that the political sector is lost to us now and we should stop wasting our time, energy, money, etc. on elections and trying to steer around a ship of state that is too big to be steered. He argued that Obama was just elected captain of the Titanic. And the crucial thing to remember is that it’s not America that’s the Titanic (which is how I’ve been feeling sice Tuesday) but the **government** that is the Titanic. And we need to find new arenas in which to survive and thrive.

And although I don’t have any kind of particular plan like Whittle does, I instinctively knew that we as a movement, conservatism, tea party, the resistance, or whatever you want to call us, MUST find a new direction. Abandon the GOP, it is hopeless, its leaders (eg Boehner, McConnell) are craven and the brand has been too badly damaged. I’ve been thinking for a day now that there is nothing we can do any longer to prevent catastrophe so let the leftists own it. We tried to turn the Titanic but on Tuesday it hit the iceberg, so let it sink. We HAVE to find the life rafts and get in.

Whittle talked about two specific arenas in which to find a new direction: education and the space program. And he said we just have to start something new ourselves and not try to fix the irretrievable union-run education system or NASA. He also briefly mentioned the media as well as survival skills. And I think the most important venues are:

Education: Do everything we can to get our kids out of public schools. I know Democrats have (by design) left many people with little choice–you have to be in the top 50% of earners to even have a chance at affording private school, and any family where both parents have to work or the single parent is working have little chance at homeschooling. But we have to find a way and Whittle is talking about it.

Media: Starve the beast. Even before the election, DH and I talked about cutting cable. I am sure we will now. I will encourage him to end his subscription to the Sunday paper. Support groups like Sherwood Pictures that make Christian movies. Heritage Foundation is starting an Innovative Communications center. Spread the word about these kind of initiatives. And stop filling the coffers of Hollywood airheads and sleaze-peddlers!

Survival skills: we need to partner with each other to share and learn skills as we prepare for the economic turmoil to come, which is certain now, the only question is when. As much as I don’t want to (I have a brown thumb), I’ll need to learn gardening skills. Those with extensive knowledge of firearms are going to have to guide the rest of us in determinig what our families should purchase and how to use them, because there is going to be major social unrest when economic collapse happens. We have to band together and make plans for what happens in emergencies when the gov’t can’t help us, or what we might do in the event of terrorist attacks, since we have an administration that is actively helping Islamists who hate us.

Additionally, pro-lifers will have to reassess what we are going to do now that the political arena is lost to us. With Dems in control, the tax spigots to Planned Parenthood and the like will contine to flow massively. Judicial appointments will be made that will effectively blockade our movement for a generation or even two. We’re going to have to do something different if we want to stop abortion, and we need to put our heads together to figure out what, rather than bang our heads against the political wall.

One of the few areas of disagreement I had with Whittle’s presentation was when he said we never, ever, ever break the law because we want the gov’t to leave us alone, and we can’t resist a giganic tyrannical state. Well, when the gov’t imposes things on us that we feel are wrong, do we just do what they say? Come 2013, all employers who don’t want to abide by the HHS birth control mandate (Catholics in particular) are going to have to decide whether to obey their consciences or the gov’t, and I wouldn’t be surprised if some civil disobedience results. We need to use this time to ask ourselves, “What will I do when the gov’t insists I violate my conscience/the teachings of my church/God/my Scriptures/etc?” Persecution has already started, particularly against those who don’t believe in gay marriage, and will soon be much more widespread.

Let’s pull ourselves together and start to think differently!! Godspeed!

Here’s the silver lining I see:
I was going through the history and numbers of past election on Wednesday. Obama is the SECOND president to win a second term with less votes than he received in his first. The first was George Washington- and he ran unopposed both times, so that really doesn’t count.

As of right now, Obama beat Romney by a margin of 2.5%- roughly the same as Bush vs. Kerry. HOWEVER- Bush won 12M more votes than in 2000, while Obama LOST about 8M (as of right now).

So, Obama goes into a second term where he’s bled supporters from 2008, and half the country has seen his policies, and already doesn’t support him. Not quite a “mandate,” but a win is a win (although the same pundits said Bush didn’t have a mandate in ’04, with the same margin of victory).

Like one writer wrote on PowerLine- Obama inherited an economy from Obama. And, undecideds went to him b/c of Sandy- so they’ll be the first ones to flee. Not a good way to begin a second term.

Earlier today I got into a conversation with a woman who voted for Obama because she bought into the ‘war on women’ meme and because she supports gay rights.

I pointed out some facts to her that she just couldn’t dispute. Planned Parenthood gets $293 million from medicaid, which Obama had nothing to do with because this funding has been in place since the 1970s. He can be credited for continuing their funding but can’t be credited with starting it.

However, the Sharia loving Muslim Brotherhood takes more rights away from women and gays than all of the pro-life and anti-gay marriage groups all put together. I pointed out to her all of the hate filled anti-women and anti gay beliefs of this group, including their rhetoric to kill every Jew, not just in Israel but around the world. Obama can and should take the credit of giving this horrible group $6 billion of our tax money to them. I asked her how Obama could say he supports the rights of women and gays at the same time financing Muslim Brotherhood. She agreed with me.

While it may be too late to change the election results, it’s not too late to point out these facts to leftists.

    Tammy,
Like many, I am still in a state of shock (I am typing this with my nose because I’m still in a straitjacket). I donated to twelve Senate races and had only two winners. How could Romney possibly lose almost 2 million McCain voters? Where was the Tea Party? And on and on and on.
That said, how could this not wake people up? I think that 2014 will be the winner from all this and will rise from the ashes of 2012. Once again there will be more Democratic seats in the Senate to defend then Republican ones (20 vs.13).
The key is education. It took me quite some time to convince my NYU daughter to vote for Romney. I was literally still making the case to her on Election Day….and she voted for Romney. I think conservatives (I don’t want to say Republicans; that’s a different post) don’t take the time to make their case to young people; they should. These are the very people that will be left holding the bag. The conservative message –Liberty, Freedom, Opportunity — is natural to their spirits. Stop talking about abortion and free contraception and start talking about freedom on the Internet and censorship. Fund creative efforts to reach young people. Fund funny and imaginative. Fund people like James O’Keefe to help expose the waste and corruption.
I’m a businessman and I’ll tell you that Obama’s economic weeds will be even more in plain view by 2014. We haven’t seen the last Solyndra. And it’s not going to take Iran two more years to build a bomb. — I’m also one of those crazy Bible readers, and it says that Good triumphs over Evil, so we have to act as though we believe that.
    2014, baby!

I keep hearing that we need to reach out to the Black and Hispanic communities, but I hear that we never do.

Maybe it’s time to buy time on Spanish-language stations and hip-hop stations, and start teaching economic fundamentals, teaching about the American dream, giving history lessons (like Great Racists in History – Margaret Sanger, Democrats who instituted Jim Crow, Whasshisname Byrd the KKK Exalted Cyclops/Senator), with 30-second or 60-second adverts, repeated frequently. The goal would be, over the next two-to-four years, begin to cut the chains that still enslave the minds of so many who are taken for granted by the Dem party.

We can’t wait and do it only near an election, we have to begin to rain gently on the ground, let the rain soak in, and rain again. Have some catchy intro tune that begins to stick in the mind like “I’m stuck on Band-Aid, cuz Band-aid’s stuck on me”. We need to infiltrate their popular culture, a little at at time, so that it’s not painful. Maybe it will begin to catch hold of some minds, make them wonder if all they “know” is actually true.

I was shocked when I learned that about 13% of the nation is Black, but 35% of the abortions are of Black babies. Since there have been about 50 million abortions since Roe v. Wade, this means that 17.5 million Black babies have been killed. That is genocide. That is what Margaret Sanger wanted – yet they don’t realize they are killing their own race.

In a quick Google search about the number of Blacks who died in the slave trade, the numbers vary from 1.5 million to 1 billion, so it’s hard to be sure. But more authoritative numbers put it at 2-4 million. This means Black people have killed four to eight times more of their own, than died in the slave trade. Exactly how has this happened? DEMOCRATS kill babies. Black babies.

How would this work as a PSA, read by some recognizable voice (Denzel Washington?):

“We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with
social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”

    – Margaret Sanger’s December 19, 1939 letter to Dr. Clarence Gamble, 255 Adams Street, Milton, Massachusetts.

We never directly counter the propaganda spread by the Left, except on Conservative blogs and talk radio. We are preaching to the choir, but not ever trying to preach to the congregation.

Glenn Beck did a series, Founders Fridays, in which he talked about the Founders in great detail, debunking a lot of myths and lies that have grown up around the stories of the early years of our country. One Friday, maybe more, were devoted to Blacks who were instrumental in the founding of the country. He had Black audiences for these days, and at the end, many of them were crying because they had never heard any of this before. All they knew, and all I knew, was that Blacks were brought here on slave ships. If we could gently bring these stories into the Black community, we might change minds over time.

Similarly, outreach to the Hispanic community, on Univision etc., could begin to make inroads. Why are so many proud of Che, when he was such a homicidal maniac that Castro thought he was nuts? He’s not a romantic figure. He’s a murderer. Do they know this?

It would take money. I don’t have that kind of money. I wonder what people think of this idea, and how we might make it happen?

The biggest bright spots for me are retaining the House and the number of Republican governors and legislatures; the Dems don’t have a messiah figure to run in 2016; Obama’s not going to moderate, so things are going to be worse and a conservative will be elected; things are going to be so bad we may get the Senate in two years, hopefully before any SCOTUS picks.

There was so much fraud, Ron Paul supporters staying home or voting for Gary Johnson, that I don’t believe Obama has 50% support, and the things he will do for his legacy, do not include helping our economy: he wants to be remembered for ObamaCare and fundamentally changing the greatest country in the world.

You have some great points and awesome ideas!! I, too, believe the only way to change things politically is to liberate the minorities from the lies they have been told for generations. We need to tell them truths they’ve never heard, and be brutally honest about how Democrats not only don’t help them, they keep them poor, uneducated, and dependent so they can forever say “You need us!” and mine them for votes to keep themselves in power. Of course, the craven, entrenched GOP cocktail sorts just write off whole demographics and don’t even try to reach them.

I always say that if blacks (and other minorities) ever figure out what the Democrats have done to them, Democrats would NEVER win another election.

THIS! I love, love this idea. PSA’s could be crafted into short, pithy, focused messages that can burrow deep into the consciousness through repetition.

One suggestion for a message: “The Republican Party is the party of Lincoln. It was formed specifically to fight slavery.” So many people do not know this because it’s not taught in schools.

This could be combined with Bill Whittle’s idea of private crowdfunding where like-minded citizens pay a small monthly fee to create the organization to get this done. Oh, let’s do it!

Hey Tamminator, I will be concentrating on the Australian scandal.

It strikes me as very strange but the reality is that we both have leaders who have behaved in a corrupt fashion and we cannot get rid of them :)

We have the same problem with regards to a Lamestream Media that will not pay attention to the facts. Is there hope? YES.

So long as there are people who are willing to chip away to find the truth, then something will happen.

David Petreus resigned today. He says the reason is an affair. What does this mean? I can think of a few possibilities. Will he be questioned in the closed meeting? Will he face being blamed? Or once he has resigned is he free to tell the truth about what took place in the situation room when the terror attack at Benghazi took place.

Maybe Petreus used the affair as a reason to resign for a reason. Maybe there is hope after all.

We are continuing to learn about the extent of the election fraud. Who knows what can happen over the next month.

And I hope people keep bringing up evidence of election fraud, at least to chip away at Barky’s legitimacy and the whole “mandate” nonsense. He didn’t seem to be expecting to win in the run-up to the election. Maybe he knows he really didn’t. But then, maybe that doesn’t matter to a product of Af-Act, who also didn’t even win the 2008 nomination legitimately, but he didn’t let them stop him. “By any means necessary.”

MY positive thought is that we, as hillbuzzers, are a tremendous group of people. My husband brought home a small tidbit from WSJ about how the country will go on. Written the day before here are parts of it:

“To choose between imperfect candidates representng unwieldy coalition has been the American way since America’s first contested election, the squeaker of 1796. If you think the stakes in 2012 are great, remember that Thomas Jefferson’s Democratic Republicans accused John Adams of being a closet monarchist, while Adam’s Federalists treated their opponents as closet Jacobins. Adams won that race, 71 electoral votes to 68, only to lose to Jefferson four years later. Who was it who said voting is the best revenge.

So it has gone ever since. The U.S. has survived countless mediocrities in the White House, several placeholders, at least two scoundrels and some real unmitigated disasters. In that last category, we’d name James Buchanan, Herbert Hoover and Jimmy Carter, with Woodrow Wilson getting an honorable mention. As for President Obama, we’ll resist criticizing until we know he’s out of the White House. Perspective is usually the best teacher…”

“Still America has remarkable powers of political and economic regeneration. We overcame the defeatism and hollowed-out military of the 1970′s to win the Cold War the next decade. We overcame the policy mistakes of the 1960′s with welfare reform in the 1990′s. Eventually we’ll reform our entitlement, too. The sooner we do it, the more choice we’ll have in how it gets done.”

I lived through the last paragraph. Maybe that’s why I am feeling bi-polar in an odd way. One way, what the heck happened?!??! and the flip side, confident because past individuals like us, coming to gether with others working for the good of man have been able turn this ocean liner around. Granted, the bathtub has gotten smaller, but if we start now with a goal and the willingness to work and stick to the work at hand, we are a force to contend with.

    God Bless America.

If anyone out there is within an arms length of Kevin (and Justin), please give them a huge hug for me. He is my hero through all this – I am a changed person for finding this website.

I just had a dreadful thought today. Holidays are just around the corner and I swear I cannot go to family gatherings, especially the fact I have a very loud mouth relative that is in my opinion, “Whacked Out” and I am sure, no I am positive, he is going to love spurting off his mouth every foul and disgusting name in the book to describe Republicans and Romney. I have seen his posts on fb about Michelle Bachman and Sarah Palin and is about as demented as can be! The biggest laugh is he didn’t vote this year. I just know I cannot sit still and be quiet and walk in the other room as I have done in the past. I will lose it! The same goes for my son who has had enough of these people!

So what me and my son and fiance will do is spend the holidays together. Open presents, go to church and bake a nice ham or turkey with all the other fixings. On holidays I just want peace and family togetherness with the ones that mean the most to me.

I was curious on how some of us are going to spend our holidays this year, because I am sure we all have a relative like the one I described above.

We all found out on Tuesday you can’t teach stupid..

I too dread going to holiday festivities where they will be as, I know exactly what will happen. DH and I never participate in these shout-fests, DH usually leaves and I leave the room like you do. Surprisingly, they know we are R’s, but they never confront us, it’s more of they will make remarks around us knowing we hear it, we just ignore the ignoramuses. I actually think they respect us because we don’t stoop to their level. Unfortunately, we have to attend, my parents are elderly, don’t want to upset them by not attending.

I saw my sister “liking pics” on FB in regards to the “war on women” and talking about how Romney hates teachers because he doesn’t want smaller class sizes. The most recent (which I believe she must have unliked because I went back to show hubby and it wasn’t on her page) compared the fact that it took Bush 8 years to make the mess and will take Obozo 8 years to fix and “how’s that for fair & balanced”.They’ve also brainwashed my nephew into believing the same garbage. I spoke out against him on an opinion he posted on FB back in June after the SC upheld Obozocare. He basically (using profane language- since that’s pretty much the typical leftist way as they usually can’t find anything rational to say without colorful language) called Republicans racist and blamed Bush. I pointed out facts about how Obozocare would hurt companies especially small business (like where my husband/his uncle works!), how the wars weren’t done by Bush alone…but he still probably thinks I’m a Bible-thumping homophobic racist. His leftist friends commenting on the same also had no intelligent, profanity-free remarks to make and had no facts to back anything they said up. The rest of the family (mom, dad, step-mom, 89 y/o grandma, file & wife, mil & husband) all voted for Romney. At least there’s some common sense in the families!!

So, as long as politics isn’t brought up…we’ll have nice holidays. :)

We either have to learn how to stuff ballot boxes OR start prosecuting those who do.

    Here’s another one –

Broward County Florida – precincts L024 thru L029

    Obama – 5,392 votes
    Romney – 54 votes

    99% isn’t possible

In the surrounding precincts Romney got 30% of the vote.

    Anyone care? Hello?

My positive thought after the election. . . .Our mothers did not abort us!

Yesterday, I was talking with my Aunt who lives in the Boston area. She is 87 years old, raised in the South and the wife of a minister. She brought up the election and “knew that I probably wasn’t pleased with it”. Out of respect for her, I simply said that I was disappointed as I am very worried about the future of our country. She went on about how excited they are about Elizabeth Warren -and specifically mentioned her stance on women’s health issues. I just couldn’t take it anymore and said “Well, I’m glad that my mother didn’t abort me”. Her reply was(and I kid you not) well it was illegal back then but if she could have, she would have had an abortion, especially for her third child. I was absolutely dumbfounded and said, “You cannot be serious, you adore Elizabeth and she is the mother of your only grandchild. You wouldn’t have Alice”. “Oh I know”, she said “Elizabeth has been a delight and Alice is a joy, but if I could have chosen, I would not have carried her”.

DEAR GOD!!!! Y’all I’ve got to tell you that I absolutely love this lady. She is my Daddy’s only sister. BUT, it broke my heart and I will never, ever see her the same way again. She was talking about my COUSIN and even though all of them are Boston, free-wheeling lefties, they are family and I love them all. I cannot imagine our family without Elizabeth and Alice.

So let’s be thankful that it wasn’t “Legal back then” and we are alive in what can still be the Greatest Country on the planet. Let’s keep our chins up and do the best we can to get it back.

Apologies for the length of my post.

Here’s a positive comment: I just started getting into Hillbuzz not too long ago and I have been very impressed with Kevin’s devotion to the conservative cause. Kevin’s devotion to God, his optimism and love of America is an inspiration to me to not give up. Years ago I used to be a lot more liberal, thought nothing of big government and believed the mainstream media without question. Now today, I am a freedom-loving conservative who is for limited government and does not trust the msm. So, hearts and minds can be change.

        Hi dd,

I guess you can say it was a slow process of becoming an adult and taking on more responsibility and finding out things that I thought were truths were not (things that the media, educators and gov’t all agreed on). Let me tell you the left has a big hold on propaganda in academia, the media and hollywood.

    Action items:

    1. Get rid of touch-screen voting machines. There are many alternative and better technologies. Many of the swing states are run by Republicans right now. Let’s get rid of these machines!!! Maybe True the Vote can get working on this.

    2. The Republicans need to repair their brand. They need to start a marketing campaign ASAP with commercials running non-stop in the next few years explaining what the republicans stand for and contrast it with what is happening under Obama.

    3. Someone needs to investigate and quantify the vote fraud that happened this election.

If people can so easily hack into personal bank accounts, why wouldn’t it be just as easy to rig voter machines.

I would love to see Jon Stossel do an investigative report on this. He is the only investigative reporter I trust. The rest of them are just hacks!

Pundit Press just proved they stuffed ballots in Broward precinct L029.

That precinct has over 1,000 White voters but Romney received just 9 votes.

Check for sales on shredders I’m betting there being used all over Florida.

    POSITIVE :)
    1. The sun rose AGAIN this AM.
    2. Chickens are still laying eggs & they are molting (not normal)
    3. My family STILL loves me & I love them.
    4. I woke up this AM & had air to breath.
    5. And most importantly, God IS still in control. And we already know the end game.

Now, some great ideas on how to proceed some my own & others found from other site posters:
    1. To webmasters who sell products & services (Kevin, great service) – Get together & find a symbol that you can post on your site so that we know what side of the fence you stand on & we will support you. The “Don’t Tread On Me” symbol has been thrown around, but I don’t think that is a good choice. Too well known, also worn/stuck on t-shirts worn by morons. Figure out something else.
    2. Stop buying goods/supporting agencies that support Soc/Com: GE, United Way, GM, Chrysler, UNICEF, Childrens’ Fund, CARE, Girl Scouts, etc.
    3. Check the political registration (public record) of the owner of the business you frequent. If they are not on the correct side of the fence, stop doing business with them.
    4. I will be purchasing thru Amazon.com for Christmas via HillBuzz. I believe a %age of the purchase $$$ goes to Kevin. (Correct me if I’m wrong).
    5. Anyone know of a “barter” website? Maybe something like CraigsList? Barter for good/services in cash/services. Virtually untraceable. Won’t be supporting the gov’t with tax dollars. Everyone has skills: carpentry, babysitting, knitting, canning, etc.
    6. Since OCare has been called a tax by SCOTUS, we need to flood our congress people & tell them if we have to pay a new tax then we want a tax credit.
    7. Prepare!!! Instead of one can of tuna, buy 2. Doesn’t have to be a major $$$ shock, just get started. Work on getting at least 1 month of supplies ahead. Look at Sandy.
    8. Learn some survival skills. There are a lot of websites dedicated to preparedness. Just don’t get hung up in the tinfoil stuff, it can be depressing.
    9. Get hand tools (non-power). Learn to garden (land or containers).

I could go on & on, but you all get the picture.

Wow. My little life is now full of amazing information-whether true or not- that has me reeling.

I think there is valid evidence now, that sometimes ignorance REALLY is bliss!!!! And–I honestly will no longer support Hollywood directly. If I just have to watch a movie then I’ll wait for it at the Redbox or even better, find spoilers.

I’ve always known Hollywood was full of strife, I NEVER knew it was a true cesspool of incestous, lyin’ perverts. If God wants to destroy America, I think Hollywood, CA should be His first place–

What Allen West has just proved in West Palm Beach is that a significant number of republican votes in a democrat controlled district were systematically identified as “damaged” and never put though the counting machines. That probably means the voters were not feeding their ballots into the counting machines themselves.

Elections Supervisor Susan Bucher needs to be FIRED and brought up on charges of vote fraud.

Our first priority for the 2014 election – we need TOUGH republican poll watchers backed up with lawyers in every democrat held precinct or we can kiss winning elections goodbye. If we had spent the time and effort wasted on Orca on a system to target and expose fraud maybe we could have honest elections again.

I just don’t believe this win is legitimate. It’s pretty obvious there was massive voter fraud. And this time it was even more sophisticated than in 2008. We weren’t delusional when we firmly believed Romney would win. Nor were we wrong when we saw dejection/desperation and resignation to failure in the Dems as election day approached. Those huge turn-outs for Romney/Ryan rallies weren’t just figments of our imaginations. The enthusiasm was there for R/R. It was NOT for O/B.

Even here in NYC, the day after the election, the first thing I heard anyone say (as I waited in line to get my morning coffee at a nearby 7-11) was: “Canada. Canada. Time to move to Canada! They’re doing ok. We’re the only ones not doing ok!” The next night one of my neighbors volunteered to me that most of the people she works with in her Manhattan office voted for Romney (these people mostly lived in NJ, CT, Long Island, NY). She said she “would” have most likely voted for Obama, but she DIDN’T vote this election. I asked her why she would have voted for Obama and she said because she “liked what he had to say in the last election.” But….she also said she didn’t think her one vote would really make a difference, so she’d leave it to “other people” to decide the election.

A lot of people are criticizing Romney, the Republicans, etc., for the outcome, but really…..I don’t know how anyone can win an election when everything is stacked against them: from massive voter fraud, a very biased and hostile media, election debates that are shamelessly rigged in favor of the other guy, suppression of any last-minute news or political developments that could jeopardize the incumbent, i.e. Benghazi, Boeing Layoffs, Petraeus resignation, unemployment numbers manipulated, not to mention the campaign of lies and misrepresentations of Romney/Ryan’s record of accomplishments, postions on issues, character, etc.

It’s just mind-boggling…..that in this day and age, elections in America are more similar to those in third-world banana republics than in the supposed “greatest democracy in the free world.”

Maybe it’s not so surprising that the UN inspectors wanted to come to “observe” our elections – just like they do in third world emerging democracies….and so far the only thing I’ve heard they’ve said about our elections is that they couldn’t believe people could vote WITHOUT having to show ID’s.

Or….that “Doctors Without Borders” has set up shop in NY and NJ for the first time EVER in the US to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy!

I don’t propose to know what the solution is to this sorry state of affairs, but I do firmly believe we have to start working toward a solution! This can’t go on! I’ve seen some very good suggestions in some of the posts above and I truly hope we find a way to implement some of them and reverse this scary trend of fraudulent, fake, rigged elections and deceitful, billion dollar propaganda/intimidation-based campaigns.
