HillBuzz Open Thread: Friday February 24th, 2012
KD has been having some computer problems so I am posting the open thread today.
As you’ve probably noticed, we’ve been doing some tweaks and updates to the site in the wake of our server move. We’ve:
- Cut average page load times in half
- Eliminated the old advertisements and replaced them with fewer ads from hopefully a better service
- Made it easier to follow Hillbuzz on Twitter, Facebook, and via RSS (see the icons at the top of the sidebar)
- Added links to comments at the bottom of each post on the main page
- Miscellaneous other good stuff!
We are also trying out a new initiative to try to help defray the costs of running Hillbuzz: Amazon links. Some of you probably saw our first effort at this, which was my post on The Roots of Obama’s Rage.
Being an avid reader of political literature, I’m going to make posts about specific books which I think are valuable or important a regular feature on Hillbuzz. I will not post books which I think aren’t very good — only ones that I think other people might actually enjoy reading. If you are interested in the book, please consider clicking through to Amazon from Hillbuzz before making your purchase. We will earn a tiny (but useful!) percentage of the sale, at no extra cost to you. It’s a great way to help Hillbuzz while getting something you would purchase anyway!
We have more updates and tweaks planned. One of the highest priorities on our list is improving the commenting system so that there’s not such a delay between the time you post and the time your post shows up.
If anyone has any comments or suggestions, please feel free to post them here!
In other news, the Arizona and Michigan primaries are coming up on Feb. 28th. What are your thoughts? What else is on your mind today?

I'm hoping if I take the link you get a (teeny tiny) cut whether I buy the book you're discussing or choose something else. I'm glad to see you doing Amazon links since it's such an easy way to be supportive. We buy stuff on Amazon all the time.
I think that as long as you link over from Hillbuzz, we do get a small commission on whatever you purchase, even if it's not the exact product. Thanks for the support!

RE: Amazon links — would you be able to post a general Amazon shopping link, and then when we use that link, HB gets a bit of anything we order!

So, I am a Michigan voter. I am a Newt supporter. Thinking I should vote for Santorum so Romney doesn't win and we don't split the conservative vote. Hubby thinks we should vote for who we like but I am thinking strategy, Advice??
