Hillary Clinton has a 70% approval rating as Secretary of State

Posted on March 25, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

The latest CNN/ORC poll has Hillary Clinton with a 70% approval rating as Secretary of State.

For some perspective, the highest her predecessor Condoleeza Rice ever received was 62%, shortly after her appointment in 2005. It should be noted that Clinton’s approval rating is also higher than Obama’s (which is around 50% in the latest Zogby poll).

There are still people we know who don’t seem to understand why Clinton took on the role of Secretary of State and left the Senate.

Well, would you want to be a Democrat in the Senate right now?

Would you want to be voting for crazy spending bills without having the chance to read them, knowing full well that by summer, every rancid pork-laden project in that bill will start to come to light and be an albatross around the neck of every Senator who rammed that Trillion Dollars of Spending through?

Or, would you rather be traveling the world, representing America well, making people proud, and removing any foreign policy experience criticism you could ever receive should you decide to run for elected office again in 2016?

We sure as Hell wouldn’t want to be in the United States Senate as a Democrat right now — though, Republicans in Congress have a GOLDEN opportunity to stand up and fight all of the nonsense and wasteful spending tooth and nail so that in a few years, when the public realizes how much of a hole Obama has dug us, those Republicans will all look like prescient geniuses.

We’re thrilled Clinton is not in the Senate and has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with any of the boondoggles in Washington.

Sometimes the universe brings you the wrong French toast.  Hillary Clinton didn’t become President in 2009, but at least three things permanently changed because of her run for the Democrats’ nomination:

(1) The American public accepts the fact that a woman will be President in 2013 or 2017. She will either be the 45th or the 46th President.  We believe her name will either be Clinton or Palin.  And whoever she is, she will, at last, be the CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN, the “One” we have actually been waiting for.

(2) Hillary Clinton permanently has an identity of her own now, separate and distinct from her husband. She’s no longer someone’s wife.  Bill Clinton’s now “Hillary’s husband”.

(3) People who didn’t like Clinton pre-2008 (but, usually, could never articulate WHY when pressed) see her in a different, more positive light these days (which largely explains that 70% approval rating…when, pre-2008, Clinton never cracked 45% in polls like that nationally).

So, as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton’s not just doing the nation a lot of good with her hard work and determined service abroad, but she’s doing her own political future a lot of good as well, whatever she decides to do after her tenure at Foggy Bottom.

Go, Hillary, Go!

Governor Sarah would welcome Hillary like she welcomes everbody, with class and grace.

Sarah has named Hillary (and Gerry Ferraro) as two of her political role-models. No matter what Hillary has to say publically, I have a strong feeling she was touched by that.

Hillbuzz, put me down for point (3 initially, with a solid helping of (2, and a huge heap of (1.

Also, extremely canny analysis of Hill’s strategy. She shores up any foreign policy weakness- in fact becomes the de facto expert in any future presidential matchup- and stays well clear of the sewage filled backwash of the porkulus that is already starting to show.

Hillary will be formidable in 2012- jugears the vapid is going to quit before his term is up (assuming he wakes up and catches a clue) and Biden will get sent back to clown college before the next election, so it’ll be Hillary with the DNC nod.

If Palin doesn’t get the nod in the GOP, I’ll probably be working for Hillary.

If Palin DOES get the nod, it’ll be a pretty weird election- either way, America wins.

In other words- French toast for everyone!

All the MSNBC boyz walking around with their hands over their balls, afraid their d*cks are going to fall off because of all the estrogen flying around??? (and with women like Hillary and Sarah… the Estrogen in the air will be so thick there will be flowers sprouting out of walls and women getting pregnant by sitting on toilets men have just used. All them woman! They will DIIIEEEE!)
And to top it all off, we will have the hottest two cherry men competing for first Hubby- Bill and Todd! They will do a first Hubby forum on Ellen and all the male hotness will cause the curtains to spontaneously combust.

It is NATURAL for one to be attracted to their opposite sign. It’s a GOOD thing. Some of the best marriages are of signs that are opposites.

Opposite, astrologically speaking, does NOT mean incompatible. Scorpio is a water sign. Taurus is an earth sign. Water nourishes the earth.

For anyone who wants to know what their opposite sign is, start with your sign and count until you reach the seventh sign. For example, I’m a Libra, so Libra, Scorp, Sadge, Cap, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries. Bingo!
Aries and Libra are opposites, and thus magnetically attracted.
Libra is an air sign. Aries is a fire sign. Air fans the fire, and fire warms the air. Whoo-hoo!

        I. Love. Hillary. I. Love. Sarah. I. Love. Astrology.

For all his flaws (for which he needs compassion and therapy), Bill Clinton loves and respects Hillary. It’s obvious he wants to see her thrive and succeed. And he knows she doesn’t need him to do either. Let’s face it, he might be a genuine Rhodes Scholar, but she’s smarter than he is by a mile. She has something he lacks: common sense.

I sense a great danger for Secretary Clinton. The President sets foreign policy, the Secretary implements it. Obama is incredibly naive about the ways of the world. From what I’ve seen so far he is going to be a disaster and Hillary will take much of the blame.

She didn’t say it was ‘our’ fault, she said that the US shared in the blame – which we do. We supply the market the market for their drugs, and they’ve been able to get in here thanks to our lack of proper border security. If we protected the damned borders they wouldn’t have such a huge market right next door for the drugs.

Good thing they don’t have Hillary to kick around in the senate! Congress is not the place to be these days. Whoever said above, that this shores up her foreign policy experience is exactly right. People around the country and around the world are seeing Hillary in a new and positive light. No one can deny she is hard-working, dedicated, brilliant, a problem-solver, qualities we desperately need today. Too bad she is the only one these labels can be applied to in Obama’s administration. I love seeing her picture in every country – she is so wide awake and smiling and interested in her surroudings (even though traveling 57,000 miles in 3 months) unlike her employer BO who can’t seem to stay interested during a one hour interview. Thanks Hillbuzz for allowing us to have this constant Hillary love-fest. I (we) appreciate it so much!
