Hera Comes for Keith Olbermann

H/t Seapea
We love thinking about vengeful Hera, high on her perch above Mount Olympus, plotting and scheming to destroy all the terrible people who backstabbed and attacked Hillary Clinton in 2008…then largely went on to do the same things, in the most sexist and misogynist terms possible, to Sarah Palin as well.
Three of the most terrible men on the planet worked at MSNBC during the 2008 election. One of them, a vile pig if ever there was one, Tim Russert, had a heart attack right in the MSNBC studio and died before he could ever see his boyfriend, “The One”, be awarded the Democrats’ nomination by the corrupt, Liberal-seized DNC. Chris Matthews lost his chance to run for the Senate and wakes up every morning as Chris Matthews, a vile pig.
The third porcine MSNBC personality is Keith Olbermann, and word is he’s close to getting fired.
His ratings are terrible. The majority of Americans know how terrible he is. Olbermann’s making enemies left and right.
And, most importantly, Hera seems to have him in her sites.
Isn’t it funny how just about everyone who sided with Dr. Utopia and worked to destroy first Hillary Clinton and then Sarah Palin in 2008 are getting what’s coming to them?
Coincidence?
Karma?
Or a goddess on the warpath?

Keith Olbermann should be fired and have the pants sued off of him.
On second thought… Keep the pants on him. I can’t imagine what lies beneath his tighty whities.
From what we hear, not much.
Speculation is that there are two small O-bama logos and a vienna sausage with a vengeance for doom.
snicker snicker!
He gives new meaning to the phrase, Put a sock in it!
LOL!!!
Oh god, now I need brain bleach.
Oh, you Boyz!!! Meow!
You mean “meow!! hissssss!”
Yeah…and as terrible as it is to wish vengeance on people…can’t wait until Hera takes it out on Pelosi, Redi and U himself..
Yippy skippy Hoorah! Trifecta Time! Life is good!
I understand Olbermann and Matthews, but has there ever been a post explaining why Tim Russert? He seemed like a nice guy to me; that is, he seemed to go after the left as much as the right, on occasion. Can anyone explain this to me?
I’ve kept quiet about this as well, but I liked Russert and was much saddened by his death. While i soon enough realized he is most assuredly NOT well thought of by the boyz I have never understood why. MTP used to be must see tv for me….until Gregory took over! Egads!
Ditto with Russert. I always like him ever though he tilted left. Hannity had him on his show when TR was plugging one of his books.
I read once that he was “in the tank” for George W, but I don’t know how accurate that was.
Ditto on really like Russert. I always thought he was fairer than most.
Same here, the Boyzz need to tell us the scoop on Russert.
Russert was one of the leading HRC-bashers.
He was a sexist, a misogynist and an in-the-tank obama-ite from the get go.
No tears shed for Timmy.
Russert barked at Hillary like a rabid dog during debates — he did nothing but rip her down and treated Obama like an angel. He was very unfair to her at every possible turn.
I used to think Russert was a nice guy, but I now think he was totally in the tank for Barack Obama. It makes sense.
“White guilt” wanted to pave the way for Barack Obama so they could say they were there to right past wrongs.
The problem with this thinking is it gives an automatic pass to the chosen one, which is incredibly unfair to other african american candidates who might have been more worthy of the opportunity.
So in the end, it was Racist of Russert to support Barack Obama because Barack was not vetted, and because Russert WAS A NEWSMAN WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO BE NEUTRAL!
RE: ““White guilt” wanted to pave the way for Barack Obama so they could say they were there to right past wrongs.”
The problem with that thinking is that it is RACISM of the highest order – and the most rank!
Not putting words in the Boyz mouths, but Russert, in full ObamaManLove ASKED pointed of Hillary Rodham Clinton (WHO HAD MORE DELEGATES AT THAT POINT AND HAD JUST WON THE PA PRIMARY!!!) ‘Why don’t you quit the race now, why go forward?’ (paraphrasing). Hillary, her voters, were best ‘moved aside’ to let The Won ‘take’ the nomination.
I believe, that figures into HB dislike of Russert.
AMEN MARY! PREACH IT!
When it came to 2008,
Russert was TOTAL BIGOT CITY – pushing Obama with all he could!
A long time ago, when I was still in my Democrat coma, I would watch Keithie on occasion. Even then, I thought he was a strange dude who had an undiagnosed mental problem. My visits to his program were therefore few and far between. I equate that snotty, egotistical Rachel Maddow with him, but being the female version with a slightly larger brain. I hope he is fired, and relegated to typing inane diatribes on DailyKos. (Sorry about fouling your blog with the “orange” reference).
Doesn’t Maddow have a PHD or something? Loony left proffesor of some type.
um, she only has a PhD in lunancy.
watching her will make you use your brain cells, I am not kidding. I tried watching, the lunancy and idiocy displayed is absolutely stunning.
*lose
yikes! sure as heck not use any.
I used to have a PhD working for me, and she was the most useless worker ever. Thought she was so-o-o smart but couldn’t turn out anything useful.
She uses BIG words in dulcette tones. Ohhhhhh…shes smart.
She actually is a Rhodes Scholar…so what happened to her reasoning skill set, who knows?
Piled Higher and Deeper!
democrat coma!
hehehehehe.
Olbermann is just a washed up old ugly, grumpy, angry, uncouth, obnoxious excuse for a man. I never watch him except for clips on the Internet of his worst moments.
Matthews is a total nutjob, sometimes good for a laugh though.
Mister Tingles. I wonder where the thrill has gone these days.
If Matthews gets axed also…he will spend his time usefully.
He will look in every corner of America, under every rock, behind every sofa, for RAAACISM. Because as a middle aged, chubby white rich guy, HE KNOWS racism!!!
Can you imagine Chris Matthews a mere “contributor” on one of the even lesser know MSNBC programs? As for Olbermann, three words….early morning infomercials.
The Pillsbury Dough Boy of NBC.
The classic Olberman parody done by, of all people, Ben Affleck:
http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/clips/countdown-with-keith-olbermann/805561/
That was hilarious! Can’t believe Ben Affleck would do it, tho. He’s a total Obamabot.
Hera is a good visual… but may I also suggest something just as fierce: ancient Scandinavian Valkyries. (No, not the silly Tom Cruise movie)
Sometimes I picture myself as one especially when I hear people like Lt. Col. Allen West speak. (I heart Col. West)
Get your sword, battle gear, a flying(?) horse and charrrrrrge!

We use Comcast for our internet and Comcast is just about to buy 51% of NBC. This will also include all of their subsidiaries including MSNBC and the Universal name. I just wrote to Comcast to determine if they will have the say in the content of the programming, the personalities, etc. Maybe they won’t be so far left and more of these horrid people will go. What say you? Is there hope?
If they want to make any money, and most companies do, they will dump all of those vile hosts and try to find people with talent.
Keith is the kind of guy who laughed hysterically at the Family Guy episode mocking Trig.
Anyone who watches his show is probably just as vile, heartless and self-absorbed as he is.
Oh, and right behind him has GOT to be Rachel Maddow.
Everything that comes out of her mouth sounds like Bill Maher: Hateful sarcasm.
Tamara, you took the thoughts out of my head and put them into words. I could not agree more. Olbermann, Maddow, Maher, et al. Such verbal distain, hate, and sarcastic nastiness. If that much hate, anger, and bitterness is visible, I can only imagine what lies beneath the surface, deep within the soul. Must be very dark place. Yes, Karma. Karma indeed.
The universe is filled with abundant ability to provide light, and mysteriously has a way of balancing the equation.
Funny you should mention Keith and Family Guy.
Olbermann was asked in a interview what he watched on TV and all the shows that he mentioned were either cartoons or sport shows. No, shows or channels that are informative or educational like the Discovery Channel, NATGO or the History Channel.
Olbermann has the viewing habits of a 10 year old which is very telling.
Friend of mine went on and on about “having” to sit down to watch countdown every night. Sooo, i thot….welp, let me see what he is all about. He is, by far, one of the angriest people i have ever seen on tv. Has a knack for turning all things negative. All i came away with was how amazingly sad this guy must be. Watching once, was definitely more than enough.
If it’s true, it couldn’t happen to a better guy with the exception of Matthews. I stopped watching the entire station during the democratic primaries in ’08. I became sick of the nightly attacks against Hillary and the disgusting fawning over Obama. I was no longer a regular viewer but against my better judgment I turned on Olbermann one night. He and a guest (I think it was Fineman from Newsweek) were making a joke about Hillary Clinton – something to the effect that someone should take her out to a woodshed and only one person should come back out. They both thought this was hilarious. It sickened me. I turned off this foul station never to return to it again.
Personally I would love to see MSNBC go “belly up”. Can’t wait to hear that news!
me 2.
absolutely disgusting what they did to Hillary, remember the line “Hillary needs to be taken into a woodshed, and only one person comes out”
I was so sick to my stomach the way Hillary was treated, called a “white whore”,
I guess its still fresh to me and I have not forgotten it, this is why I will never ever forget what the dems did to Hillary, ever!
party of women?? WHATEVER!
I don’t even think the Undemocratic Party as one clue what they did when they NOT ONCE stood up for Hillary against these absolutely disgusting sexist attacks.
Yes, you’re right about the “undemocratic party”. They were clueless then and they’re still clueless. They thought they didn’t need the Hillary supporters and they could be silent by-standers while Hillary, her family, and her supporters were insulted and dismissed. I wish I could remember the guy’s name when the DNC Rules Committe gave the nomination to Obama by stealing Hillary’s votes but he predicted the democratic party would have hell to pay and was he ever correct!
Shuster is IMO, worse than Matthews. Chrissy is nuts these days, but Shuster is mean and snide.
Come to think of it, everyone on that channel is nasty,
from the woman Imus made fun of (forget her name),
Mitchell, Shultz, Madcow and their guests are just as nasty.
The only person I could even listen to is Pat Buchanan. I used to like Dan Abrams and Joe Scarborough when he was on at night.
They’re like juveniles trying to outdo each other. They play to each other and not to the audience.
Greg Gutfeld is a joy and his Robot theatre brilliantly characterizes Shuster, Media Matters and others for the lib-bots they are:

I’m not Hillbuzz but my take on Russert is much like my take on Edwards; I didn’t like him from the get go; nothing personal,. just did not like him. He seemed two faced to me. Just my take,. but that’s it.
I’ve never watched him. I could only get through two minutes of the clip provided. I’m amazed that the producer didn’t “go to commercial” and stop him!
Not only is it in poor taste to give graphic details of ANYONE’S illness battles (much less his own father), it is in total disrespect to those who suffer through these treatments to be used as political fodder. My cousin died of skin cancer, and I can easily provide graphic details of what that disease did to her month by month, but that would be offensive to her memory, her braveness, her family, and anyone else going through the same thing. Just for ratings???? (that he apparently doesn’t even have!)
Fire him!
My friend had skin cancer, and the operations changed his facial appearance in a way that made him look rather rough, especially since he was rather handsome before being afflicted. He has warned me about protecting my face and scalp here in Florida, but I don’t use any sunblock since I have sensitive skin that reacts to it by giving me deep blemishes. I wish I could find something that I can use before I regret not using sunblock. I do tan dark during the warm months, but it’s obvious that I have sun damaged skin on my back. The sun in Florida is definitely stronger than that in New Jersey.
Waaaaay off topic, but there are some great SPF 70s on the market now. Nuetrogenia makes one that is non-comedigenic…if the higher SPF still cause acne (or sounds like it could be hives) find a compounding pharmacist and ask for zinc oxide (can be applied lightly as you would a moisturizer.
Skin cancer is awful…so use an SPF!!! My family is ultra pale Irish…and we have had skin cancer affect us in sun-free PA. Be careful!
Thanks for the information. I’ll check into this.
nomobama,
I read an article a month ago from one of the med journals – New England I believe – about protecting your skin. The docs who wrote it recommended the tried but true zink oxide and/or titanium oxide. CVS sells an Australian sunscreen called Blue Lizard. If they are out of it, Google it and buy it online. My family uses the “Sensitive” one. I also buy the Baby Lizard for the Grands. Both are chemical free and fragrance free.
Please wear sunscreen.
I too am dealing with several types of skin cancer. My dermatologist suggested long sleeved shirts that are large and loose but still cover you along with long pants. I did discover on the internet a spray for clothing that prevents the rays from coming through the fabric. Don’t have the name just this moment, but I easily found it on the net. It is sold in stores that sell stuff for hunters. There are also clothing lines for those of us who need super protection.
nomo, just to reiterate what the other folks said, PLEEEZE find a sunblock you can wear. The zinc sounds like it might be the answer.
Otherwise, even if you don’t contract skin cancer, your skin will age tremendously, especially in FLA.
Remember…ANY tan is sun damage, literally.
Try mineral sunblocks. They will show on your skin, but block the sun without any cancer risks themselves.
He had this attitude that because it happened to him, it was somehow bigger, or more important or no one in flyover country had ever gone through it.
It was creepy in it’s total myopia.
That article about Olbermann’s show was funny. Olympic curling got better ratings than Olby’s show. They said MSNBC was showing curling and when it was over, they switched over to Olby’s show and lost half the viewers.
I use to watch him many many many years ago when he did the local sports in LA. I always looked forward to his part of the show (I’m not a sports-watcher in any sense of the word). He was clever and funny. Sad what’s become of him. Ah well, fill your heart with anger and hatred and this is whatcha get. Bye bye putz.
I used to like him when he did Sports Center on ESPN. He and Dan Patrick were my favorite pair. After he went to MSNBC, I tried watching his show, but just couldn’t do it. At that point, it wasn’t particularly nasty — it was just inane.
I’m a huge sports fan so I remember him from ESPN too…but honestly, the ESPN guys that make themselves part of the story like Dan Patrick, Olby and Kenny what’s-his-name is sort of annoying when you’re really just wanting to get the scores and what happened. However I admit they are entertaining fodder during Game Days and other pre-game programming. Just not on Sports Center…get to what they hell happened already!
Gotta disagree about Tim Russert. He was one of the last of the real journalists, and I think it was a real loss when he died prematurely.
Yes he may have worked for NBC (and by extension MSNBC), and he may indeed have become caught up in the “historic” nature of the Obama phenomenon (although I don’t really recall much Obama-love on Russert’s part). I’ll take your word for it.
Still, I can’t help but think that with everything that has gone down since that fateful election, if Russert were still alive he would be ot there doing his job and asking real questions (unlike the rest of the MSM).
Finally, I think it’s out-of-line to speak of a deceased person as a “vile pig.”
As for Olbermann and the vast majority of his MSNBC cronies, carry on.
He was definitely tough on Hillary. I lost any respect that I had for him.
I must admit, I did not pay too much attention to the debates in which Russert participated….so I will take the word of the HillBuzz team that Hillary got the short end of the O-stick.
My husband and I would watch meet the press together on Sundays, as Tim Russert was one of the few main-stream journalists left with any integrity. He would grill both sides pretty good.
I miss those Sunday mornings, as his replacement (David Gregory) is as insipid as I knew he would be. While Russert may have been bedazzled by Obama in the beginning, I suspect he would be quite hard on the O-ministration now — and that would be well worth seeing.
May Tim Russert rest in peace.
PS. I hope Hera unleashes the Furies on Olberman too! And have her call me if she needs some help from the ancient Egyptian divinities.
I don’t watch Sunday morning TV much, but sometimes I like to watch the McLaughlin Group, especially since there is an actual balance of conservative versus liberal viewpoints.
McLaughlin??? UGH!
I watched his ‘end of the year’ show, just out of morbid curiosity and it didn’t disappoint (the morbid part, that is).
He’s gone round the bend, just like Olbermann and Matthews.
For the ‘most overrated’ person or thing in 2009, McLaughlin actually said, and I swear Im not making this up, that FREEDOM is overrated. Check the transcript if you don’t believe me. What a loon!
And Eleanor Clift!? She has to be the nastiest, most miserable, strident beeyotch you could find anywhere on the tube.
That show is nothing more than a lib group therapy screaming match.
How do you stand it?
My very most favorite “McLaughlin Group”:
http://www.spikedhumor.com/articles/60600/SNL-Dana-Carvey-The-McLaughlin-Group.html
Sorry but he was not a journalist when it came to Hillary and Obama — he treated her like dirt and did not vetting of Obama whatever. I will never forget his behavior toward her.
Russert did not ask the “real questions”
to Obama then, he wouldn’t be asking them now either. In the Debates he made sure to ask Hillary the hard questions first so Ozero could say “I agree with what Hillary says” and hide his ignorance and lack of substance.
Through this past year Tim Russert would have been working hard at spinning Ozero’s and his team’s failures, to the detriment of the American people.
Funny, I watch more Olbedork than I should admit. I would lose no sleep were he to be fired. He is very spiteful and know it allish just like his hero Barack.
I agree with Hillboyz, Tim Russet was dispicable during the primaries. He was so in the tank for Obama and against Hillary that his rants were often irrational, bias and spiteful. He was obsessed with
an Obama victory.
This said, his untimely death was quite unfortunate.
Well, now…if Keithy O loses his job (and whats left of his mind) in the ObamaEconoME! will he now have to actually ‘kill’ his father for the insurance money. Because Keithy went into some sort of rambling, incoherent, ObamaCare Epic Fail rant/screed about his father asking him (Kinder O) to kill him (Pater O).
What a sicky puppy Olberman is.
And…with his firing, can’t we all imagine Chrissy Matthews as ‘next’ in line?
He should get fired no question, but I kinda wanted to see his head explode on election night november 2012 when Sarah beats Obama. That would send him into a full blown crisis. He might commit suicide on the air he is so nuts.
We were all hoping for that in ’08. I’m really wishing he’ll be off the air long before that.
GREAT post! can’t wait to see this guy gone!
I hope this comes true.
“Sputum” and “putrescence” come close to characterizing Olbermann. I’m sure there are others words, but I don’t wanna put in the energy to find them. I already put in enough on this post:
http://jimwalterpix.typepad.com/download-the-kaboom/2009/09/high-school-study-hall-with-a-live-mic.html
I’ve heard that his contract runs through the 2012 elections. Will they just end it there, or release him from his contract early? I say send him to his ‘bathtub’ for eternity.
but, but, if he gets fired, who will replace him? maybe carville, who is nutty but sane and might just get ratimgs!
I hate that I get a kick out of Carville. He’s absolute disgusting in his perspectives, but his schtick for getting his one-track mind out there is sort of funny. He’s like a hyperactive, highspeed robot who just happens to have the weirdest shaped head on earth. I absolutely do not see how Mary Matalin avoids daily migraines. Maybe she just yells, “Will you just SHUT UP!” about every 15 minutes just to get a break.
He usually speaks in sentences.
but, but, if he gets fired, who will replace him? i say keep him on making a fool of himself and dragging nbc down.
agreed!
I really try to watch and read the “opposition”. Really, I do. However Obermann is SO offensive that I can’t stand to watch him for more than a minute or so, and then have to turn him off.
Who watches him and thinks that he has anything at all to contribute to the dialogue? He is so vicious and hateful that anyone who listens on a regular basis must be totally warped.
Morning all. I suspect that ComCast may use this as an excuse to get rid of Obie and his $7M annual salary and start a house cleaning. They have no doubt been looking at the books and have determined that while GE made out like a bandit with Obama, they will not. Look for them to take a hard swing to the centre while dropping Matthews, Maddow and the rest of the really left pack. They’ll keep the one’s that want to try real journalism and raid Fox for a few personalities. They’ll lose half the audience share they have now (probably more) but would have a decent shot at taking from CNN, Fox and HLN which would more then make up for the loss. Hell, in a year as an honest network they actually make money. The real upside to this would be that Obie, Maddow, Matthews etc etc would have no place to go.
Hey, I can dream can’t I?
Has the “Countdown” to Olbermann’s firing already begun?
http://rhetorican.com/2010/02/28/countdown-to-olbermanns-last-show-at-msnbc/

You have me thinking that Hera may actually be up there, eyeing all these folks.
Please enlighten me – I refused to watch Tim Russert the last few years he was alive because I felt that he had turned into a shill for the democratic party, albeit with more tact and class and intelligence than Olbermann. What did Russert do to Hillary?
On another note, when Hillary spoke out last week over Greenspan’s monetary policy, my husband turned to me and said “2012 has begun.” He is convinced she is going to run.
I think Russert and Mathews both had a touch of the liberal version of Clinton Derangement Syndrome. Mathews especially as when Hardball was the hot political show was during the various scandals in the administration. His issues wth Hillary were on display back then. Russert was able to keep it in check for the most part, but it really hit during the primaries as noted above. I chalked it up to him being more of a Teddy Kennedy Dem than a Clinton Dem and a touch of resentment that Hillary replaced the man who brought him to D.C. (Daniel Moynihan) in the Senate.
