Have You Seen This? Bill Maher Advocates Socialism By Comparing It to NFL Football
Sports analogies are almost always lost on me because I have never been able to sit in front of a screen watching millionaires running around on a field playing children’s games. In full disclosure, I also can’t make it through two full acts of a Broadway musical either (I like leaving at intermission and seeing the second half another time if I’ve gotten comp tickets). I’m not a big fan of watching people doing things when I can be doing things myself, unless I know the people who are on the stage or field and I am actively cheering my friends on.
But, I posted the above football-related video because I think you really need to start wrapping your head around the reality that the Democrat Party is now full-on Socialist. Unapologetically so.
This was not the case until 2008 — prior to Barack Obama taking over the party, there indeed were socialist elements in the DNC, but they were always like crazy uncles in the attic banging pots or your least favorite in-laws who come to holiday dinners and ruin good times by talking about how “communism has just never been implemented correctly”. Ugh.
I was a Democrat until 2008 because the party used to keep the Socialists and outright Marxists in the back room and the Clintons yanked the DNC to the more or less center; it’s no-holds-barred in Democrat ranks right now, as evidenced by how gleefully and openly Democrat Party shill Maher advocates socialism in this video.
I think I need to start repeating this in almost every post I write, but if you are someone who ever uses the word “liberal” to describe these people you really need to start slapping yourself across the face so that you will stop. These people aren’t “liberals”, they are “Leftists” — STOP using their friendlier-sounding chosen term. Calling a Leftist a “liberal” is like calling a cockroach a “hug-a-bug”; this is a deliberate attempt to make something offensive seem more appealing to people who don’t pay much attention to what’s really going on. Put another way, I’m sure you don’t use the Leftist approved term “undocumented workers” to describe the people who flagrantly break US immigration laws…because I bet you call them either “illegal aliens” or “crimmigrants”. If you are someone who won’t say “undocumented worker” then why on Earth are you ceding ground to Democrats by calling them “liberals” the way they want you to?
Every time you say “liberal” to describe these clear and determined Leftists you are inching the ball down the field a nudge to their clear benefit.

Little Billie,
Let's apply your logic to you directly. You are paid by HBO from subscription payments to view the network. Does HBO distribute money equally amongst all the programs it televises. I am certain it does not. You are paid based up viewership that you personnally drive, much like a professional baseball team. Based upon this, and as much as this thought totally repulses me, are a Republican.
The fact left out by Bill Maher is that it is the OWNERS who decide what to do with their money and the OWNERS choose to split the money among all the teams (the Republican way). The owners know that the more competitive teams and games drive up the interest in the NFL product overall – thus increasing their profits through increased ad revenue, tv contracts and ticket and merchandise sales.
Its not the government taking the money from the more successful teams and redistributing it to the less successful teams (the Democratic – LEFTIST/SOCIALIST way).
