Have a safe and fun night out – see you on the other side of 2011
Before I head to New Year’s Eve adventures here in Boystown I wanted to thank everyone for being a part of things here on HB in 2010. You were collectively the best part of a brutal year.
Tonight, if you are headed out on adventures of your own, please drink responsibly and plan ahead. If you know you can’t say no when the free shots and champagne start flowing, give a bar manager your car keys so there is no chance in Hell you can drive home.
There is no shame in cabbing it and admitting you lost control and are now too buzzed to drive.
I don’t want to turn this into an after school special, but I have lost friends to drunk drivers, so on a night like tonight, just please remember how your actions can impact yourselves and others.
Have fun. Be excellent to all you meet tonight. Live to see tomorrow. You are loved and needed in the fight come 2011.
Use the best trick in my book if you know you will be pressured to drink a lot tonight: order a Guinness in a bottle. It’s opaque. No one can see how much is in it. If you want to have just one, you can totally pretend it is still full all night and no one can tell. It is a great way to stay sober without seeming like a wet blanket.
Look out for those around you tonight. If you see someone driving erratically, call 911 and report it. Better safe than sorry…you might save a life.
Let’s all do our part to start the New Year right, and alive, with all our limbs, and nothing we regret tomorrow.
I get to spend the New Year with an awesome guy I love, some really great friends, and all the many characters in Boystown that make me smile…or cringe, as the case may be. The decorations are all gold and gaudy. There’s glitter everywhere. I’ve seen Chers representing almost every Cher look and decade, save “serious actress” and “infomercial sellout”.
Wouldn’t have it any other way.

Out at the local bar doing a VIP party with friends (and yet coming to this site… lull in the action before dancing starts). Being that I don't like the taste of alcohol, I am always designated driver rocking the Diet Coke. I like to think of myslef as "the person who remembers what all the drunk people did, and carried a camera for proof."
At home safe and warm, eating chocolate and chips!

We're one of the last places on earth to see 2010 out. Ringing in the new year with fireworks and preteen boys (my kid and his buddies — didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea). Yikes!!

Hope all of you have a very Happy New Year & a safe one. I stayed inside away from the masses playing w/ my new toy – I got an iPad! Watched Megyn Kelly & Bill Hemmer ring in the new year on Fox. Hope my Buzz family here had a good time. We must remember to stay in the saddle in 2011 as the ride to revolution has only just begun. ONWARD TEA PARTY PATRIOTS!

Have you ever seen " The Professional" with Reno? FABULOUS movie…..kinda dark but a classic to me.
P.S. Clicked over for a moment to ABC's New Year's Rockin Eve & they had Dick Clark on. I mean I know he created the show and all, but seriously? Anyone else uncomfortable watching him besides me? I just think it's time for them to retire him. Does that sound cruel? Sorry if it does, but jeez!
And here I thought it was just me. Yeah, they need to give that poor guy a rest and be done with it.

Hey Kevin and Hillbuzz boyz — Drove down to Chicago today, (12/31)and took my college-age daughter to see "Wicked" at the Cadillac Palace theater. It was FANTASTIC. Took her for dinner first at Petterino's — great food, great service. It was a wonderful night in which my daughter and I bonded, and we went to see a show that she has wanted to see for over a year now.
Just wanted to tell you that, because I had read that you loved that show, and also because I traveled to your city to see it.
Have a great New Year! 2011 will be better than 2010, because we will make it so!
