Governor Sarah Palin’s October 7th, 2011 “Defending the Republic” speech in St. Louis
Governor Sarah Palin has delivered an impressive speech in St. Louis at the “Defending the Republic” event that gives us an idea of her plans going forward and what role she’ll play in the 2012 elections.

When I get home tonight, I’ll do a full write up on this, but please comment in this thread below with any thoughts you have on the speech.
I know many are still disappointed and even angry the Governor chose not to run for President in 2012. I, too, am disappointed because I know what an excellent President she would make…but I respect her decision and know she is doing what she believes is best for the country.
I think, personally, she made a mighty sacrifice for the country in that she’s giving up a chance to be President herself just so the Left can’t gin up its hate machine against her to give Obama any chance at re-election.
I remain an admirer and supporter of Governor Palin and appreciate her continued leadership in speeches like today’s where I see her laying out her strategy for 2012.
Different than what many of us wanted, but impressive, needed, and appreciated nonetheless.

It is obvious that Gov Palin is making crony capitalism, corporate welfare and union thuggery, public enemy #1, #2 and #3. I believe she realized this is bigger than any one person and that is why she chose not to run right at this time. It appears her goal is to raise up MANY constitutional conservatives and help them get into offices all over the country, including D.C. Then we can go after the entrenched problems within our system.
Sarah is going to take this right to all of them and especially to Obama. She will be very powerful over the next year. Just watch her rise to the top. God bless Sarah Palin as she leads us in the fight to take our country back!
My Husband and I, too, feel very disappointed that Sarah has declined the opportunity to become President. I know in my heart that she could be the one person to lift this Country out of the morass Obama has created. If all had listened they would have known he did not bode well for America. I respect her decision as we were terrified for her safety on a daily basis. Look around and see what is going on with his wink, wink, and words of encouragement (Wall Street thugs). America has become much more dangerous under his ideology I believe she was in great danger and she, perhaps, knows that God has shown her the way through Trig. She must be safe to care for, love and guide him through these early years. He is a gift she has thanked God for daily and she must exact due diligence in caring for him and Piper too of course.. It's difficult, but we must be of good cheer and understanding for she has not forsaken us. She will strive every day to make a difference. It started in St. Louis. Say a prayer for her everyday. I say one for you too Kevin. I get alarmed when the week goes by and we do not hear from you.
I agree with you. I too was fearful for her safety and that of her family. There is so much vicious hate on the left and it is augmented by the media megaphone. One need only listen to the first few minutes of The Undefeated to be very afraid. Children should not have to live with this and she is right to protect hers. Maybe in a few years the climate will improve. I too pray for her safety every day, and for that of our country, and now for Herman Cain's as well.
She always said that she would only run if she didn't find a candidate she could get behind. Has anyone considered that she has found that person and would prefer to focus on getting them elected?

Let's wait to see what she does next. Sarah could surprise us all again. I would be surprised if Sarah Palin *didn't* surprise us with her next moves.
The Republic will survive only if we all do what we can. What can each of us do as individuals to follow up on the action team items here at HB?
The TEA party is not about any one person. Neither was the American Revolution. If Washington had not been born, some other colonist would have risen to the top.
Is there anything keeping any one of us from doing what we can? Nothing other than inertia of the imagination and mind and body. That's the only thing standing between any of us and our own greatness.
Kevin didn't wait for Sarah Palin or Hillary Clinton to jump into campaigning. As the narrator in _Apocalypse Now_ said of Colonel Kurtz: "…he just thought it up, and did it."
Palin and Beck have made it perfectly clear to those that follow them: It's Israel First, the Jews are the Master Race and they serve the interests of the Jews not Americans. These two are Zionist Jewish Supremacists.
