Governor Sarah Palin stands up for GOProud’s right to be at CPAC…what else can we say to refute attacks against her that call her anti-gay?

Posted on February 7, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Action Items, Common Leftist Attacks, Debate Prep, Hillbuzz, Purple Team - Palin, Refudiate Media Attacks, Sarah Palin, Standing Up To Bullies, Surrogate Speaking, Tea Party

Here in Boystown, there’s a concerted effort underway to paint Governor Sarah Palin as the second coming of Anita Bryant.

Even though few in Boystown remember much about Bryant, other than that she was Harvey Milk’s nemesis in the 2008 film “Milk”.

And most of them only saw that because they heard from a friend James Franco is fleetingly naked here and there throughout the movie.

The largest and most popular bar here in Boystown is Sidetrack, which is owned by two gay men who hate Governor Palin with a passion.  So much so that on the “Thursday Comedy Night” immediately after the Gabrielle Giffords shooting in January, Sidetrack ran a 20-minute hatefest against Governor Palin, showing clips from SNL mocking her, and culminating with a weird and violent parody of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” where Kate Gosselin and her children pick up assault rifles and begin a Hatfield & McCoy gun battle with Governor Palin and her brood.

I’m proud to say that so many people thought it was disgusting and in poor taste, immediately after the Tucson shootings, that they got up and left the bar.

Today, BreitbartTV has a bit about Governor Palin standing up for gay conservatives who want to participate in CPAC, but are being shunned by idiots in the Cocktail Party.

Governor Palin consistently stands up for gay rights, in much the same way Dick Cheney, Laura Bush, and most recently, Barbara Bush, have done.

And yet, places like Sidetrack continue to promote their agenda of villainizing Governor Palin into an Anita Bryant-esque nemesis, out to get gays and harm us…like Cruella de Vil tooling the country after dalmations.

This is the meme the gay community wants to run against Palin, tapping into a reservoir of anti-woman and anti-conservative sentiment in places like Boystown, where low-information voters parrot what the media and people like Anderson Cooper, Tina Fey, Kathy Griffin, Margaret Cho, and Dan Savage tell them.

For those of you who don’t care what the gay community says or does, think about how the Left uses gays to shape popular culture.  Each of the Democrat constituency identity blocs is used for a specific purpose.  None of these blocs are particularly liked by the Left, but they are tolerated because they are useful to the Left’s cause.  Jews are kept on the Democrat reservation because they can raise money the Left needs to fuel its agenda.  Blacks are kept on the reservation so they are forever able to scream RAAACISM! to shutdown debate and intimidate conservatives, who are terrified of being called racists.  Gays are used for creative, pop culture, and humor attacks on conservatives…since what happens in Boystown doesn’t ever stay in Boystown, but eventually trickles down to YOUR TOWN in the form of whatever new fad gays have concocted that penetrated the mainstream.

An effective use of our time this week is to compile the standard attacks the gay community most often makes against Governor Palin…and refudiate all of them, point by point, in debate team style form.

If we work together to assemble this, and we note the times Governor Palin has stood up for the gay community, we can create debate cards that we’ll have ready on an ongoing basis as people across the country prepare to surrogate speak for the Governor in the 2012 election.

The new HillBuzz.org site that’s coming in a week or so will have a special page devoted to this sort of debate prep…so that when entities like Sidetrack here in Boystown engage in 20-minute hates against the Governor (driving their own customers away, because they go so far to villainize her), people will have an easy way to refudiate them.  Our hope is to make the Debate Prep page so easy to use you could just pull it up on your phone if ever you are in a situation where you would need to.

It’s going to be a lot of hard work researching all of this and putting together an easy-to-use resource that will help people become confident and capable surrogate speakers for not only the Governor, but for conservatism in general.  Having the facts at ready access, and being practiced in debate, will enable you to shut a lot of haters down…since they don’t know the facts, only what they heard Anderson Cooper or Kathy Griffin say “on the TV”.

Either chime in on the thread below with good examples of attacks you’ve heard the gay community make on Governor Palin, or other standard attacks made against her, along with concrete facts that refudiate them.

Or, you can email us your research at HillBuzz@gmail.com

Let’s set a goal of having this resource completed by Friday, as our gift to Governor Palin and her supporters at large during “All-Palin-February”.

Nah, that will not happen. Sarah Palin still does not support gay marriage, but why would anyone freak out over some gay people coming to a conservative meet up?

She believes everyone should be treated with respect.

Apparently a lot of people would, if you read the comments on the Brietbart site. I swear there are some fringe conservatives who have just as much fun telling people what to do with their lives as liberals, they just pick different issues to focus on.

Made me appreciate, again, the effort made by Kevin & Co. to filter that sort of crap out here.

Fortunately that comment has 60+ negative thumbs down. Too bad there are several others that think including gay people is a step towards the ‘gay agenda’ and liberalism. A few other posts have popped up with 60+ positive ratings supporting inclusiveness. There’s hope yet!

Katie– I read Breitbart: daily, just like here, I post from time to time. However with that being said’ ‘ ‘ and reading that entire Breitbart/Palin visits Reagan country post: Most of those comment’s are from the one’s who post from the side-line’s if you will.

The “major” player’s who carry the heavy “narrative” over there, were MIA: Which did not surprise me. That being said’ ‘ ‘ they “like” Sarah, but not for “President” and believe she would have been great for the RNC Chair position. So’ there ya have-it in a nut-shell.

What’s so ridiculous about “some” Christians– they above anyone else’ are taught through scripture and of Christ’s teaching’s– “do not judge”,,, and it never seizes to amaze me, they’re the first one’s to start with stone throwing.

It’s going to take “ALL of US” to get Sarah elected, HOWEVER’ I’m just not sure we can bend these Hard-CORE cocktail or not type’s, Testosterone driven men to “knock it off” with this “ideal” WOMAN for President syndrome they do suffer from and it’s from both side’s.

Is it really about Sarah or is more about electing a “FEMALE” President, or is it BOTH??? “very frustrating”

The actions, words, and antics of the left, the elites, wackodemia, and the media re Sarah Palin are an identical rerun to those employed against Ronald Reagan 1964 through the present. Reagan is dead but the marxstream media is still attacking him.
Conservatives today unlike in 1964 have their own publishing houses, the internet blogs, cable tv news, far more conservative pundits, social networking sites, and an army of millions of Davids exposing & slaying the marxist goliaths & gorillas that are the leftist power structure that determined to destroy America as we know it
Sarah is following Reagan’s model and will surely triumph if not in 2012 in 2016.

Yes, Old One. It is an identical tract and it is predictable. They have left the “tongue in cheek sarcasm” and are now ramping up their attacks to the mean and over-the-top lies. And very soon it will be moonbat crazy, with spittle coming out of their mouths and red glassy eyes – looking like they need medication. Sarah, like Reagan, scares the poop out of all of them. They know she resonates with us and that their “lightbringer” does not – and those that did fall for it, are realizing their error. This is a dangerous time for them. They’ve put it all out there and now they are trying to pull it back in and “move to the center” but it is not working. No one believes him, let alone believes “in” him.

There will be those who try and convince the “base” that she is not a social conservative and try to separate her from her core support.

What Sarah must do is get people to understand that one does not have to necessarily personally agree with the gay agenda or lifestyle to understand that ALL people must be treated with respect, ALL have a right to join the conversation, and the more conservatives the better.

If she can articulate this, she will emerge stronger but if the social conservatives are allowed to control the dialogue and separate Palin from her base, she is at risk of losing her ability to get the nomination.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people out there that will claim that unless you agree with them 100% on all issues, you aren’t a “conservative” at all and thus no one should listen to you, much less ally themselves with you to take care of important fiscal issues. This is ridiculous and frustrating, and most of the reason I refuse to call myself a conservative (sticking instead with “Cynical Libertarian”)

It’s not that anyone can show that Palin hates gays. It’s that some of the comments in the Breitbart piece are so head poundingly stupid and homophobic.

The left has no intention of honouring the promises it has made to gay people. They have no need to to do anything as long as people like that are on the interwebs, seemingly unchallenged.

Sarah Palin is a pragmatist, much like Ronald Reagan, who had several openly gay CONSERVATIVE men on his staff (they had worked for him in Sacramento and he hired them again as staffers in Washington.) His belief – and Palin’s as well – is that as long as the adjective CONSERVATIVE comes first, whatever other descriptors come after (e.g. black, female, gay) really don’t matter.

Can one be a social conservative and still respect the rights of others to express their views and take part in the political process? Certainly. Can one be a social conservative, but nevertheless feel that some things should be beyond the scope of government policy or control (i.e., government has no business peeking into people’s bedrooms)? Certainly. While I am a Christian conservative, I have never been comfortable with the approach of the Moral Majority, Pat Robertson, etc., so I find nothing amiss with Palin’s statement.
At the same time, I wasn’t aware that CPAC was a religious convention, so it is hard to see why it matters if gay conservatives show up. The larger question is, Does CPAC really even matter, or is it time to evolve beyond the traditional left-right dichotomy of American politics in order to get the country back on track?

why not do a class v crass/hero v zero like thing, only on the good side, what sarah has stood for consistently and counter it with the truth about what the “players on the left” really stand for in contrast. especially with sarah standing up for gays while the left (or whoever) only pay lip service but accomplish nothing for them. but this needs to be huge.
