Governor Palin is making all the right enemies
http://theothermccain.com/2010/11/30/shes-certainly-making-the-right-enemies/
Great read over at The Other McCain.
I have said this repeatedly: Governor Palin in 2010 is in a very similar position to Hillary Clinton in 2006.
The media and party establishment are joined together in relentlessly attacking her because they have picked, together, a man they want as the next presidential nominee.
In this case, it is Mittens Romney. Against Hillary, it was Obama.
Clinton Derangement Syndrome keeps many Palin supporters from seeing that the same playbook used against HRC in 2008 is being used against the Governor now.
I personally have tried to address this directly, and have urged Palin supporters to learn from Hillary’s primary mistakes, but the bulk of them do not want to listen. Instead, they would just fill threads on those articles up with attacks on HRC for everything under the sun. They just can’t seem to help it. Like someone who just can’t stop badmouthing an ex boyfriend, where a conversation about farm subsidies could somehow be twisted into a diatribe about the time Joe forgot their anniversary and didn’t even get a card because he is an ass like that.
Or because it’s like the time he killed Vince Foster.
Ridiculous.
For those of us who WERE paying attention to the media-DNC tag team against HRC from 2006-2008 this media-RNC alliance against Governor Palin is unsurprisingly familiar.
Just saying.

I chalk it up to begrudging partisanship. I think Palin could learn a lot from both Hillary’s mistakes as well as her strengths, personally. I don’t agree with Hillary on much, but she’s definitely a badass woman to be reckoned with.
Both women were hit with some of the most vile attacks from the Left. Palin even gives a hat tip to Clinton for her leadership skills inspiring her as a politician. It could really help her.
The big problem with Hillary was the OVER CONFIDENCE and the Bill scandals baggage.
Primary voters are attracted to candidates that are charismatic, not boring. Hillary’s campaign was boring and “we got this in the bag” and “that little black guy is not beating me” attitude.
The other mistake of the Hillary campaign was to be too timid against the first decent black candidate. If she would have taken Obama’s associations since the Summer 2007 and attack him mercilessly for the whole 2007 year, she would have secured Iowa.
Sarah is doing it RIGHT. Attacking Obama since day ONE: 4 September 2008
It really is the same darn thing, Hillbuzz. I feel like I’m watching a bad re-run. Unsurprisingly familiar, indeed.
However, Palin is a bit different from Hillary. Liberal women are taught to always sacrifice for the common good. Conservative women are taught to reload.
I really appreciated Sarah acknowledging Hillary’s contribution to the role of women in politics, in one of her very early speeches in 2008. I liked that. I don’t agree with HRC’s policies, primarily because they are democrat policies, but I think she’s a brave and strong woman. I have fantasized about Sarah and Hillary forging if not a friendship, a partnership of sorts, where Hillary acts as an unofficial adviser of sorts to Sarah in her 2012 campaign. Perhaps even endorse her; I know, I know, it’ll never happen, but I think Palin would treat Hillary very fairly.
Keep an eye on that icky Keith Olbermann. He chose Bristol as Worst for advocating abstineance….after having a baby! I think he insulted all single mothers with that swipe.

I begin to see what you mean.
I really liked what Tammy Bruce had to say:
“…Either way, Gentlemen, bring it on. You see, things have changed more than you know, and Sarah Palin is like no one you’ve known.”
Ain’t that the truth!
Werd.
The most mistifying thing to me was when Conservatives were all “WHA?!” when We Will Not Be Silenced got some MSM play a couple months ago on Fox.
For me, it was old hat.
Thankfully, Republican Party rules for the Pres primaries are very different, but Hillary’s campaign (the Rules and Bylaws committee decision on Michigan — GOOGLE IT, FRIENDS — and the caucus fraud) is so so so so so so illustrative; I can never repeat it enough.
Not to mention the whitewashing of things (Obama’s anti-gay “Black Preacher!” tour with people like Meeks and McClurkin in SC — google it!), or the RAAAACISM (I will always support you for that, Gerry Ferraro!).
Conservatives and fellow Palin fans need to learn and read this stuff. Whatever your opinions on Hillary, you need to learn about that nasty, toxic pH in the bathwater and stop focusing on the baby that was in it.
Christine Odonnell has sent Hillary some tweets, like “you go girl!” for Hillary’s response to the wiki treason. Christine has shown a lot of support for Hillary and even encourages Hillary to primary Obama.
I really like seeing women reach across party lines and support each other.
I do too and I love Christine. She is amazing.I saw an interview where she reached out to all us PUMAS and I thought that was such a wise move and a sweet thing to do.She’s a pretty sharp woman.
Christine’s comments about Hillary are troublesome, why? Because it was because of Hillary supporters that she lost the Delaware race. Note that the “Hillary supporters”(those who think Hillary is smart, accomplished, educated and super qualified to be POTUS) were the ones who voted against Christine while the conservative folkzz tried to help her.
Christine’s support of Hillary against Obama IS NOT good. The only anti Obama woman on the whole planet is SARAH PALIN not Hillary Clinton.
I hate Sunday morning opinion shows because they bash Sarah so bad.Every Sunday she is the topic and they are licking their lips and tripping over their tongues to bash her and put her in her place. This is the exact same thing they did to Hillary. My sister just called me tonight and was talking about how much they bash her and how she refuses to watch them.Of course this happens on all the other news shows every day but for some reason it seems worse on Sunday, maybe because I think they need to give it a rest on the Sabbath.I hope that Sarah and all her supporters will stand up to them.So far Sarah is hitting back and I believe she will continue to do so.I will stand up and sing Sarah’s praises just as I did Hillary’s.We need to show them that we will not tolerate this abuse.Don’t let your dislike of Hillary blind you. They don’t care what party the woman belongs to they just target her because she is a woman and is in the way of their chosen male candidate.
Yes, but wait just a little bit. When Palin announces, the Sunday talking head shows will breathlessly announce “Next week, for the entire hour, Former Governor and Republican Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin” without a hint of irony.
And they best watch their step, too. If they try the “Couric Thing” again, she’ll go through them like crap through a goose.
The boyz have some experience with this–what do we do now to make sure the Democrats don’t take Iowa and New Hampshire away from Sarah and force us to accept Mittens as our nominee?
I think Sarah can kiss New Hampshire goodbye if Mittens Romney is in the primary. Not that she should HAVE to, but because the people in New Hampshire will vote for Romney. Period. He’s a RINO and he’s from Massachusetts. ‘Nuff said for the Granite State.
Now IOWA is another story. I lived in Iowa for a few years. If the Romney camp doesn’t CHEAT, Sarah could take Iowa.
What I really wish is that the Repub Cocktail Party would come to grips with the fact that Romney wasn’t that popular in 2008, and he isn’t getting any MORE popular. I don’t know ANYONE in my conservative circle who likes Romney. I realize I don’t speak for all Repubs, I’m just sayin’.
The one person in Republican politics who is ready and willing to learn from what Hillary went through is….Sarah Palin.
Palin has never held a huge brief against Hillary. Clinton didn’t come after her the way the Obama people did, so there’s no grudge nor any kind of vendetta.
I strongly suspect that Palin is central to Bill and Hillary’s plans to retake the Democratic Party from the Left.
Go to Dick Morris, he has a piece on the
GOP Primaries.
He knows about past mistakes.
http://www.dickmorris.com/blog/
Morris makes an interesting case, but experience has shown that he is not always right about things political (for instance, that we’d take the Senate and win 100 seats in the House).
Anyway, if the Democrats figure out a way to get Chicagoans to make Mittens the winner in the Iowa caucuses and a way to get folks from Massachusetts to vote against Sarah in New Hampshire, we could be looking at a difficult path for Sarah in the rest of the primaries.
Completely off topic, but I am leaving at the crack of dawn in the morning to drive 1.5 hours to Gov. Palin’s book signing!! Better half is reluctantly coming with me and we are springing the little guy from school (how many chances will he have to meet a future president?)….my grandmother is gonna love her christmas present this year!!
Say hello to her from all at HB!
I will do it, I will also be wearing my brand new “Run Sarah Run” T-shirt….very excited about this!!
Please explain what the heck is going on with Barbara and Jeb Bush bad-mouthing Palin? They have a lot of nerve.
Let me translate the Bluebloodese
“It is Jeb’s turn next time”,
“Get back to the fields peasant!”
Given your talent as displayed in class vs. crass, maybe you should do a comparison chart. And maybe even take it so far as to show with mathematical certainty that the LSM is …. wait for it …. seexxxiiisst.
Maryland’s Martin O’Malley has been named Head of the Democrat governors association. I have had a hunch for quite some time he was being groomed for the national stage and this is the first step. He is a Nancy D’alessandro Pelosi protege, he is married to Katie Curran O’Malley, daughter of former State attorney general Joe Curran. They are all corrupt Democrats down to their DNA. Look for O’Malley to be the Dem answer to Marco Rubio.
You know, I was thinking – seeing as there are a lot of people reading Hillbuzz who read it for reasons having nothing to do with Hillary, and the anti-Hillary comments keep coming, maybe it would be a good idea for you to have a post that shot down all the common Hillary myths with facts, links and evidence. I was a kid during the Clinton presidency and I didn’t start paying attention to politics until Obama was already the official Democrat candidate, so I missed all the Hillary rumors in “real time,” along with whatever defense of her you did then. It might be helpful to have a post on them so whenever people started things like “she killed Vince Foster,” you could point to that post with all the facts.
Great idea.
I trust at least some of y’all have seen this American Spectator article (H/T to Prof Jacobson). If you haven’t read it yet, I think you’ll enjoy its evisceration of the “Governor Plain’s too dumb to be President” meme….
Good article and thanks for the link.
The Democrats wanted Hillary. Obama did not get into the picture untill December 2007 when blacks and Oprah started pushing him over the top.
Romney IS NOT Sarah’s Obama.
Sarah’s Obama could be Rubio if he pulls an Obama on her.
Get it folkzz, Obama ran a great deceiving campaign. After Iowa it was over for Hillary who scored a disappointing third place there. Even sexual pervert Edward beat her.
Sarah will not score third in any primary or caucus. She either does first or strong second in New Hamphire and Michigan.
Please Note that Rubio will never be the Republican Obama, why? Because Hispanics WILL NOT vote for a CONSERVATIVE Latino like Blacks voted for a Liberal African American.
Rubio WILL NEVER get 90% of Latino support like Obama did with the Black voters. Rubio could get a decent 60% of Latino support, good but never 90%!! Meaning Marco Rubio, as a Republican, could never do as well as Obama as Liberal Democrat. Meaning, Rubio could never beat Sarah in Iowa, New Hamnshire or South carolina where Latinos are not fired up or are a big block like Liberal African Americans who voted in mass for teir False Messiah.
The same problem Romney has with Christian Republicans is the same problem a Rubio candidacy would have with Hispanics, who don’t really like Conservative Hispanics.
Right on. Especially with regard to Michigan. Palin country, right there.
