We are very concerned about the illegal voting practices likely to take place this November 2nd. News sources revealing that the Obama-Holder Injustice Department has no intention of enforcing the inadequate voting laws already on the books.

It’s easy! Contact your local party headquarters as each party has observers. You’ll likely need to attend one ‘initiation’ type class to go over the legalities of what you may or may not do/say/wear. You might be able to volunteer in a general sense as well by going through your local Board of Elections.

    What’s on my mind?
…a few things are floating around up there.

    - How the People’s employees in D.C. could just go swanning off on a six-week recess without passing a budget. I heard this is actually illegal.

    - I wish Sean Hannity would stop having Newt Gingrich and Mike Huckster on his TV show. They both need to fade into history and oblivion.

    - I think Obama has snapped. Check out the headlines Drudge is running. ‘It took time to free the slaves.’

We should have a post/thread where we can all check in after voting to let us all know whether their district is busy or flat. In my area, busy means a big loss for D’s.

I think that when you go to Amazon, there’s an entire page devoted to Glenn Beck’s picks. That’s how I found some of the books that he mentioned but couldn’t remember their names. You could most likely find the books there.

And just think, when the Boyz get their new site with ads and widgets, clicking on an Amazon link via their blog will earn them a wee commission to help them keep snarkin’…. ;)

Local issues on my mind today. I’m wondering more and more how it is that in Massachusetts, in a year where Scott Brown won the seat previously filled by Ted Kennedy, and Governor Deval Patrick was last in the country in approval ratings, a year when Barney Frank faces an opponent that gives him pause, the best candidate the GOP can put forward is a guy who worked on the Big Dig financing, Harvard Pilgrim healthcare, has pretty-boy/country club looks, comes across as quintessential rich boy Cocktail Party-type, and has some positions to the left of the Independent running against him. And then chooses a running mate who’s 100% pro-choice. Spends more time fundraising than campaigning and now can’t seem to capitalize on his opponent’s staff leaving the race to support him against the incumbent governor.

THIS is why it’s dangerous to perpetuate the myth that only a moderate Republican can win in MA. That’s what the left wants you to think, but it’s not the position of many, many voters. So, when they give us more blech, people can’t get behind the guy. I don’t believe they would support a Pat Buchanan Republican, but a Chris Christie Republican would walk away with this race. Frustrating!!

I had just seen the Red State piece on Sen. Thune. Erickson didn’t call him a cucumber sandwich, but he might as well have done so. I remember Thune, several years ago, let everyone down when he could have shown some spine, and didn’t. It was then I knew that a pretty face was not enough to do it for him. Even Sarah needs more than a pretty face; fortunately, she has more. It is now substance over style for me.

What is on my mind today is “Am I crazy? or is anyone else feeling this way?

I had lunch yesterday with some former co-workers, who I thought I really liked, was excited to see them, got dressed up, enjoyed our conversation and then politics came up…..I left the lunch and on the was home was really disappointed – feeling that I didn’t really care about them as much as I thought I had due to their political associations. It’s almost as if I really do not desire to keep up friendships or relationships with people who do not have the same ideas as me. And trust me, I am not a right wing kook, but more of a moderate who is seeing this country headed in the wrong direction way too fast.

One’s political views can reveal a lot about their character. It can be very difficult to be friends with people whose values are repulsive to you. It takes a lot of patience and when you are feeling “ganged up on,” it can be near impossible. It is good to interact with people who have opposing points of view, but you don’t need to be surrounded by them. We all need affirmation, too.

If you do want to remain friends, the best thing you can do is to be as honest as possible about your feelings. When we hide the way we are feeling, it tends to create an emotional wall between us and the people we care about. You might just tell them that you felt really uncomfortable discussing politics in that setting and it’s not something that you do. Hopefully, they’ll understand and respect your wishes.

No Deb, you are not crazy. There are many of us going through this exact thing these days. When you believe in something and let your principles lead you to a decision, one that others disagree with it become difficult. In times like this it becomes harder to find any common ground with folks that to us often seem delusional, leading to feelings such as you are having. If they are true friends you will likely find your way back to each other. My very dearest friend and I disagree, heatedly, on many things, politics included. We will often find ourselves loudly and very vocally disagreeing (to put it mildly). Then one of us will laugh and say that is enough for today….we’re never going to change each other’s minds but I love ya gal. And the subject is changed…for now. But she and I are BFF, have been for 20 years, so we have too many other things to fall back on and both know it will take more than whatever the argument was centered on to get between us. I KNOW she is an idiot about this, and she knows I am….so we can laugh about it between us. If they are truely part of your heart, they ever will be. If not then such differences could cause a cooling to your relationship. Put it in it’s place. If it’s not really of importance to you then why be upset about it? It’s all a matter of degree….does this relationship actually matter? If so, then acknowledge your differences, laugh and carry on. If not, shrug it off and move along to someone that really does.

I understand exactly how you feel. The sad thing for me is that it’s occurring with very good friends. Being in the Chicago area, the majority of my friends are Democrats. I’ve lived here over 30 years. I’ve been through many elections with these friends and never felt this “distancing” that I feel since Ø became the Øne. I’m finding that those I used to be able to discuss politics with are ultra sensitive to any criticism of the Boy King. Their feelings get so hurt, or they get sarcastic and angry. Hey – I had to live through 8 years of all the crap they had to say about Bush which was totally supported by the LSM and Hollywood and less than 2 years into “their guy’s” term and they can’t handle it, even with the LSM and Hollywood support they get. I’ve felt very ostracized and I’m feeling like the friendships are not as important as they used to be and that makes me sad.

There is something very divisive going on in this country and it is mean and nasty. Like a nana nana nana – we won. More so than ever before. I really truly like being around like minded people and feel, unfortunately, that it may be worth giving up some friendships.

When a fish smells, it starts at the head. You’ve now got the president of the United States calling out citizens for disagreeing with him. It’s as if he thinks he can beat us into submission. He is also calling out news commentators by name when they criticize him. To say this man is acting “unpresidential” is understating the obvious. He is the most divisive personality that has ever led this country. And he’s doing it in a classroom of Jr. high yesterday!!! One kid is yawning like he’s bored out of his head. The one thing I thought he would do is to try to charm the country. He must have left his charm gene in Chicago.

“Quite frankly” (as Velma Hart is fond of stating to open an argument), we owe it to ourselves – to our self-respect and emotional well-being – to be frank and firm in our conservative beliefs. Like RINO pols and pundits, we have been going-along-to-get-along much to long, and it hasn’t gotten us anywhere. If friends and family members are not willing to tolerate our honest conservative beliefs, why should we feel obliged to tolerate their liberal/leftist beliefs?
And if we do not politely tell our liberal friends that there may well be something radically wrong with their thinking, what will cause them to start to doubt and question their own political “religion”?
Like it or not, the November 2nd general election will mark indelibly a watershed, no longer between the traditional Democrat/Republican nexus, but between the liberal/Marxist/islamophiliac political camp versus the conservative/free market/islamophobic camp. There isn’t a fence between the competing camps that we can sit on comfortably, politically or socially, so we will have to decide whom we want to live with and whom we want to live without.
Same issue at work? We should keep our opinions to ourselves there, because our jobs are more important than shallow political debate around the water cooler.

          http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/politics/A-GOP-unknown-is-in-striking-range-of-Barney-Frank-1063388-104114343.html
At the moments Sean is running 10 points behind a well known and powerful incumbent; and has raised $600,000 compared to Frank’s millions. Some outside support is called for.

My favorite quote from talk radio yesterday: Mark Levin’s interview with Gloria Allred.

“Are you trying to tell me that with 12 million illegal aliens this one just happens to walk into your office?”

Allred was trying to make it sound like Whitman’s maid was not directed to her by any Brown associate.

She was on fire. You could tell Allred was shocked that Greta knew exactly what she was up to, and called her on it.
Then when Allred mentioned ‘Fox’, Greta just about flew out of her seat and said, ‘Don’t you dare try that with me,’ or words to that effect.

      Game. Set. Match…Van Sustern.
