    beware via The Hill
The Obama administration has floated a transportation authorization bill that would require the study and implementation of a plan to tax automobile drivers based on how many miles they drive.

Now this is not a tax, it is a way to control our mobility, a way to force us into the cities so we may leave the and pristine for nature–typical –but this is the goal of the progressives ultimately. we must be on guard–its called Transportation Opportunities Act and we need to let our reps and WH know this i NOT acceptable. The purported income they would glean, an excuse for this social engineering, could be gotten thru cutting spending and reorganizing their budget. How shameful. Please let your voice be heard.

What I don't understand about this–if they want to tax people based on miles driven, why not just raise gas taxes? Doesn't that do the same thing? So, you're right, it's about control. Mark Levin was talking the other day about North Korea, and how it's environmentalist's paradise….no electricity, no indoor plumbing, no technology, and everyone is the same….poor and pitiful. That is the world they want for us. Not for them, mind you, but for us, the little people.

My understanding is that the government is concerned about the loss of gas tax revenue, due to the recent push for more fuel efficient vehicles. With the mileage tax, even if you’re saving money at the pump by driving a hybrid, the gov will still be able to wring ‘your fair share’ out of you.

I'm assuming Mr. Levin was being tongue in cheek with "Mark Levin was talking the other day about North Korea, and how it's environmentalist's paradise….no electricity, no indoor plumbing"

Google "vanguard world toilet crisis" When you have cities with populations of hundreds of thousands, and waste going into the streets, and people on the fringes urinating and defecating along side or into a river just yards from where people are bathing, doing laundry, and getting water for drinking and cooking, you end up with just a few health problems. But, as you say, that is the world that some have envisioned for us.

Good morning, Bridget and all the rest of you fantastic HillBuzzers! Today all the buzz is about how Herman Cain blew the doors off that debate last night! He IS all that & I am looking forward to the day when he debates the stammering stuttering Captain wtf and his teleprompter.
In other news, since Monday, it has been National Offend a Feminist Week! As a stay at home mom, devoted housewife & rightwing blogger, my very existence is offensive to feminism, but in honor of this annual event of awesomeness that was begun by Stacy McCain, I offer up my own blog contribution for National Offend a Feminist Week:
Take Your Feminism and Shove It! http://zillablog.marezilla.com/2011/05/take-your-…
I hope all of you have an awesome day and a delightful weekend!

How do you post a link in a comment, my cut and paste approach is not working? For example, I’d like to share this interview with Condi Rice and Larry O’Donnel, Condi was masterful handling an aggressive interviewer

Ugh. Is anyone else getting sick of seeing and hearing Obama "spiking the football"? Every news break has him on it blabbing about his victory. I'm really sick of it, it's unseemly and I can't believe how hypocritical he is while they continue to prosecute other Navy Seals. I think my head might explode…….

He doesn't want to spike the football? How about having that consideration when he said, "I won!" How about having that consideration when he said that "we are the ones we've been waiting for…" What an arrogant ass.
