Just something I have been wondering about. Here, and at other sites on the web, I have seen numerous people post that they used to be Democrats, but at some point they woke up and left the party. I can't think of an example of someone posting that he or she started out as a conservative then later went liberal. It must exist somewhere, but I've never seen that story.
I voted for Harry Truman and when he was gone I thought there were no more honest Democrats–so I changed my registration to Republican and I've never been sorry.

One of my co-workers told me that her step-grandson brought home a kit provided by the electric company with energy efficient bulbs & shower heads to be put up throughout their house & the parents had to sign a form proving that the changes were done.
The whole thing was probably another government mandate. Doubtless the electric company had to provide the kids, including the form. However, the parents didn't have to sign. Depending on whether the kit was requested by the step-grandson or was an unrequested solicitation, it could have been returned or simply tossed in the trash.
According to my friend, it was not requested (since they live in her house, she'd know). Of course, I didn't give the kicker: we're in the central valley of California.
I'm thinking i should buy a lotto ticket today, because every other day of the year my luck is pretty crappy, but most of my Friday the 13ths have actually been pretty good! And black kitteh cats make great pets.
