It’s Friday, HillBuzzers, and that means it’s time for you to put in your two cents worth. Is there a story out there that you are dying to talk about? Is there something exciting happening in your part of the country that will be of interest to your fellow Buzzers?
I’ve been posting some pretty serious stuff this week, so I’m going to begin the weekend with a video I saw a few days ago called Islam, Bacon and Beer. It’s got a serious point, but it made me laugh. And if you don’t laugh once in a while, your head will explode from being too dang serious. Enjoy your weekend!

RUSH: Okay. That’s good enough for me. We’ll just have to tell AP about this ’cause they’re still trying to establish the link. The paper trail, that isn’t gonna fly, though. Big problem. A big problem. If slave number one actually had 450 acres of tobacco in Virginia, don’t you think we’d know about that? Complicate the talk of reparations, but I don’t want to go there.
Was President Barack Obama’s Bunch ancestor a Stow Away?
There was another Bunch that came into Virginia prior to 1637 that carried the surname Bunch. Ancestry, com omitted this person from their report.

Shades (I don’t mean that racially) of Elizabeth Warren.
Great video Tam!
I would like to share a post by a friend of mine over on livejournal. He discusses what he believes is Obama’s true Jimmy Carter moment and possibly his greatest foreign blunder, the betrayal of Mubarak. It’s a good read and not too long so it only take those interested in reading a couple of minutes to go over it.

Have a great weekend everyone!
May take you all weekend to read this, but it’s some good stuff on Dingy Hairy Reed.

He really should be ashamed to show his face in public.
I think Debt Neutrality for all consumers is neither a republican or democrat thing, it’s a people thing. Consumer debt is so high that simply making the minimum payment is all that most people can do.
However, I don’t believe in debt forgiveness. I do believe in allowing people to pay down their debts, interest free, as long as they don’t start up new debt of the same or higher levels.
The problem is that nobody from either the republican party or democrat party will ever consider or advocate Debt Neutrality. American consumers have 3 trillion dollars in credit card and student loan debt and everyday they pay ONE BILLION DOLLARS to bankers just on the interest rate charges alone.
So when any politician talks about a 5 or 10 or even 25 billion dollar government program, they are basically blowing smoke. Debt Neutrality requires NO GOVERNMENT hand out of any kind.
At this point in time, interest rate charges on long term consumer debt is hurting everybody and only helping the bankers.
If anyone agrees with the concept of Debt Neutrality, please support the cause (no donations) at http://www.debtneutrality.blogspot.com, on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/debtneutrality, or you can sign the petition at http://www.change.org/petitions/congress-create-debt-neutrality-rights-for-paying-down-credit-cards-student-loans
Debt neutrality is utter nonsense! If you can’t afford to buy things with cash, maybe you shouldn’t be buying them! This idea that we ought to be able to run up credit cards, car loans, student loans and other debt to dizzying amounts and then the bank should be forced to cut us a break because we are stupid enough to live way beyond our means is absolutely ridiculous. Bankruptcy was created for people who may have had a catastrophic medical situation or the tragic death of a spouse, etc. But too many people get themselves into these bad situations because “I want” exceeds what they can actually afford. A good friend of mine is a bankruptcy attorney. He says an awful lot of people who end up bankrupt are driving better cars, wearing more expensive clothes and taking better vacations than he does. And he is a very successful attorney!
Every money manager out there will tell you to pay off credit cards every month, pay yourself first by putting money in savings, have a six month cushion of cash just in case you lose your job. Don’t buy more house than you can afford, don’t get adjustable rate mortgages, and buy your cars with cash, not car loans. In other words, don’t spend money you don’t have.
And all the rest of us have to live with less while we pay for the irresponsible excesses of the few.
☪bama’s chief goal should be crystal clear to everyone by now:
“Empowering the Muslim Brotherhood, one fallen nation at a time.”
He is working on ours too, btw.
I picked up “In the Garden of Beasts” by Erik Larson at one of the local Costcos a few weeks ago and am getting around to reading it.
Nonfiction history of the Ambassador to Germany from 1933 to 1934. Interesting, sadly echoing some of what is happening to day, specifically immature leaders, destruction of freedom of speech, a populace divided between those who cheer on the new order and those who who see what is truly happening (and who are pretty much ignored here in the US.) But what really surprised me was the antagonism of several US officials toward Jews; it reminded me of sentiments expressed lately by a few Democrats and participants in OWS. I guess some things don’t change after all.
Cass Sunstein resigns??? Not much fun being a Czar, after all.
I wonder where he is going to show up next. Is this a victory for our team, or just a reassignment a la Van Jones? Either way, we will prevail in the end.
Me too. Had it for a while (also from Costco). Also am reading “when Money Dies” unbelievably scary how history repeats itself. The similarities to today’s circumstances is remarkable. Just remember that to be informed is to be prepared.
Is there any truth to the rumor that Obama ordered Gov. Deval to sign the three strikes law in MA? Deval was opposed to it and vacillating and then all of a sudden he signed the law.
I’m not interested in if you support the decision, what I’m curious about is if you have heard if Obama was involved?
This is such a betrayal of the black and Hispanic community (basically this type of law is applied to blacks, Hispanics and mentally ill homeless veterans) that its going to cause Deval problems.
It is presently the harshest three strikes criminal law in the country-it allows no judicial discretion-so if Obama made it clear to Deval-sign the law or he would have no future in his administration, it is such a cynical move by Obama it could cause a schism in his base.
Just wondered if you heard anything from the republicans as this rumor is floating about…
Ts video should to remade without the sexist remarks. I always argue with progressive leftists that it misogyny resides on the left wing of politics. If giving up beer and pork is more of a problem for Amercans than wife beating, Islam has a good chance at suceeding with the help of Obama.
No interest? I’m just struck by the irony of it if its true.
Obama got the african american vote from Hillary in the primary because Obama’s people cast the Clinton’s as closet racists, anyone who supported her, blogged for her etc was a racist…
If Obama now is reversing his strategy now and is actually appealing to racists, and has secretly made Deval sign a law that all the civil rights groups in Massachusetts said was racially discriminatory, to appeal to racists voters and win a few more votes-it makes my head explode how cynical he is.
