FREE ADVICE: Republicans in all New York races need to NAIL DEMOCRATS TO THE WALL for their support of the Ground Zero Victory Mosque

Posted on September 23, 2010 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

The most recent polls in New York state are now showing GOP candidates Carl Paladino and Joe DioGuardi within striking distance of Baron Andrew von Cuomo and Kristen Gillibrand, despite all apparent efforts by the Cocktail Party GOP establishment to lose these races.

Looking at the polling, the Republicans win the whole state save for New York City.

New York City, as to be expected, votes HEAVILY Democrat.

This is where the Ground Zero Victory Mosque comes in, and where Republicans, if they had a clue in Hell, would break with their tradition and really and truly let Democrats HAVE IT for their support of the plan to build an Islamic conquest monument on the bodies of people like our friend Jane and all the rest who died on 9/11.

Andrew Cuomo, Kristen Gillibrand, and Chuck Schumer all advocate the building of the 13-story Victory Mosque abomination on the land now occupied by one of the buildings Muslims hit with jetliners on 9/11.  The former Burlington Coat factory Islam intends to raze to build the triumphant mosque was not only struck with the landing gear from one of the planes and irreparably damaged, but was coated with the thick cloud of cremated remains and body parts that blanketed lower Manhattan when Muslims destroyed the Trade Center and murdered thousands of New Yorkers.  In Islam, the Koran dictates the construction of a mosque on ground where blood was spilled in a Muslim victory.  Hence, the importance to Islam of building on THAT SITE and Islam’s refusal to accept FREE government-owned land elsewhere in Manhattan for this project.

Cuomo, Gillibrand, and Schumer all want the mosque built at Ground Zero…which is defined as any building that filed an insurance damage claim related to the 9/11 attacks (which that Burlington Coat Factory building certainly did, because it was struck with part of a jetliner).

For whatever reason, the Cocktail Party has been scared to punch these Democrats in the face with this lunacy.

Because the Cocktail Party is always so scared of alienating the news media, which also wants the mosque built.

Well, we have a lot of readers on the ground in New York City.  Robby’s sister Ann-Louise lives there.  Ann-Louise, it just so happens, was a Leftist and an Obama supporter until this Victory Mosque business.  Having been personally affected by 9/11, and still occasionally breaking down into tears when reminded of that day, she became ENRAGED when we told her that Cuomo, Gillibrand, and Schumer all want that mosque built.

If this causes a complete 180 in Democrat support in Ann-Louise, and the same reaction is shared by others in New York we know, then Republicans need to make sure that everyone living in New York state knows who is supporting this Ground Zero Victory Mosque and who is against it.

Here’s our thinking:

(1) If Republicans are already winning the rest of New York state, and are only currently losing Manhattan, it’s inconceivable that hitting Democrats for their Victory Mosque support will lose Republicans ground outside New York city.  We can’t imagine voters in New York state outside Manhattan would WANT the Ground Zero Victory Mosque built or would gain a negative impression of a Republican candidate for hitting hard on this issue.

(2) New York City voters do not want the Ground Zero Victory Mosque to be built.  These are the Ann-Louise voters.  These are people who normally lockstep Democrat vote and blindly pull the (D) lever in every election.  But, 9/11 makes these people stop and think.  Many of them were covered in dust, ash, and cremated remains that day.  A lot of them, like Ann-Louise, still have the dirty, bloody suits they were wearing that day preserved in plastic garment bags because they have not been able to even have those clothes dry cleaned, let alone think about putting them on their bodies again without collapsing into tears.  If there is one thing that would get New York voters to stay home on election day it is the realization that by voting for Cuomo, Gillibrand, or Schumer they would be casting a vote to help build the Ground Zero Victory Mosque and give Islam a way to crow about its triumphant attack on Americans that day nine years ago.

(3) Because New Yorkers are so brainwashed into the Democrat fold, we don’t have much hope for getting these people to vote Republican, for the first time in their lives, en masse.  It was heartbreaking for us to vote Republican for the first time in 2008, because until that year we were dyed in the wool, party-loyal Democrats who were taught that Republicans were evil and should never be voted for.  If after all we went through in the 2008 campaign, it was still hard for US to pull that lever back then, then we’re telling you it’s a fool’s hope to believe ANYTHING could bring New Yorkers completely over to the Republican side.

(4) HOWEVER, pursuant to (3) above, the Ground Zero Victory Mosque and New Yorkers’ innate opposition to it is more than enough of an emotional tug to get millions upon millions of loyal Democrats to say a “FU** THEM!” to Cuomo, Gillibrand, and Schumer so that these normally loyal voters sit their butts home on election day.  To teach the DNC a lesson.

(5) It’s time Republicans woke up and started tearing pages out of the DNC’s longtime playbook.  The most effective tool Democrats have against Republicans is convincing conservatives, time and again, to just sit home “to teach the GOP a lesson for not listening to them”.  That’s what gave Obama the White House in 2008, all those millions of conservatives who were egged on by the DNC to “sit home” because “McCain was not conservative enough” and thus the GOP needed to lose “so that better candidates would be run in the future”.  Well, folks, do you see the opportunity with this Ground Zero Victory Mosque madness to convince New Yorkers to “teach the DNC a lesson” and force them to “listen to New Yorkers” since the DNC is gung-ho, 100% behind the building of that monument to Islamic conquest that spits right in the face of all those murdered on 9/11?

The reason we’re Independents today, and will never become Republicans, is because the Republican Party at large is just so damn stupid most days.

They never learn from their own mistakes, for one, but more tragically they never see these opportunities to turn the Democrats’ most effective tricks against them.

In “blue states” like New York, Republicans don’t even TRY to win.

When Democrats like Cuomo, Gillibrand, and Schumer slit their own throats by backing something as morally offensive and stomach-turning as the Ground Zero Victory Mosque, Republicans stand back and let the Democrats heal, never seizing the moment to go in for the political kill and completely exsanguinate them.

It’s maddening.

Now, in the spirit of not doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results, and aware we have this national platform afforded to us here, we want to put the challenge out to all of you to find a way to do what the GOP will not do in New York state…and find a way to get the voters of New York, particularly New York City, so disgusted with Cuomo, Gillibrand, and Schumer over this Ground Zero Victory Mosque that at bare minimum they sit their butts home on election day and refuse to vote for these three Democrats (and thus give them support for their stance on the Ground Zero Victory Mosque).

How can we, and in a greater sense the Tea Party, do what the Cocktail Party GOP won’t do…and win these New York elections?

Chime in with ideas on this thread.

If we can make a nice dent in Democrats’ New York City support, it will actually be just enough for Paladino and DioGuardi to pull off their upsets…with little to no help, of course, from those GOP fat cats who don’t give a damn about winning these races.

I agree. Obviously! Just out is a Rasmussen poll that shows Townsend gaining 15 points on Schumer. Now, he’s still down, but with the electoral tsunami, the Paladino surprise (poll), and the mosque issue (& Obamacare etc etc), it’s conceivable that Schumer himself could lose.

The thing is… I went to the Townsend site (http://www.townsendfornewyork.com/about-jay) and found a kind of cerebral, tepid ramble. Heartfelt, but though he doesn’t have to be “mad as hell,” he needs to get with the program and be a bit outraged — and get right to the issues that are turning people red with fury.

So I hope someone can help get the word out to him! He sounds like a talented person who could turn this around, maybe by infusing just a smidgen of Paladino.

The Survey USA poll showed Gillibrand barely over DioGuardi 45-44. A real off-the-radar battle.

Since Gillibrand was an appointee to fill the seat vacated by Hillary Clinton, would the winner of this election be seated immediately? I.E., if DioGuardi wins, will he be seated in early November instead of early January?

I think so, but I’m not 100% certain.

If so, that is very important, and he could use it in his favor.

Every seat we can flip immediately is more protection against what the Democrats will try to ram through in the lame duck session.

The lame duck session is a major issue, and it’s why we should be doing everything in our power to win the races that will seat the Senator immediately, to serve during the lame duck session, and ensure our ability to filibuster even if we lose the support of one or two Republican Senators. Consider it “insurance”.

To the best of my knowledge, that includes the races to fill the spots currently filled by temporary appoinments, for the vacancies created by:

Barack Obama (Senate seat vacated to become President)
Joe Biden (Senate seat vacated to become Vice-President)
Hillary Clinton (Senate seat vacated to become Secretary of State)
Robert Byrd (Senate seat vacated due to his death)

If people are unhappy with what the Democrats have shoved down our throats, they need to do everything possible to win the four Senate seats that I think will be filled immediately.

This side of the matter hasn’t received so much attention thus far, but you’re quite right to bring it up. Getting an additional four Republicans into the Senate even before January (in the best case scenario) would certainly reduce the probability of further mischief (also from the likes of Murkirsky or Miss Lindsey).

The problem the GOP has is that it’s attempting to please people who will never ever vote for or support them. So they worry that people will think they’re anti Muslim bigots (as opposed to anti Islam sensible people) if they target the mosque.

It never seems to occur to them that those people they’re worried about offending will never vote for them. It also never seems to occur to them that, if the mosque is so rational and reasonable, then the Dems should be DELIGHTED to proclaim their support and cannot/will not complain. Big if.

I think you’re exactly right with this post. And the Democrats are exactly wrong. They claim this is a “religious freedom” issue, and fail to see (or see and fail to acknowledge) that it is a Muslim Conquest issue.

In Islam, the Koran dictates the construction of a mosque on ground where blood was spilled in a Muslim victory.

Do you have the Koran reference for that? I think quoting that directly may help people understand that this is not about religious freedom, but rather Muslim victory.

our friend Jane and all the rest who died on 9/11.

I lost a friend on 9/11, too. I think of our lost friends as well as the unseen victims… the children who would have been conceived, born, and alive today if one or both of their parents had not been murdered on 9/11.

The Ground Zero Victory Mosque was originally called “Cordoba House”.

The group behind the Ground Zero Victory Mosque is the “Cordoba Initiative”.

The “Cordoba Initiative” actively participates in the Sharia Index Project, which actively seeks world-wide Sharia law:

After two years of work, the Sharia Index Project’s working team of Sunni and Shi’a legal scholars from Morocco to Indonesia achieved consensus on a final structure on philosophy, methodology, and approach to providing the general public, opinion leaders, and state officials in both the Muslim and Western worlds with an Islamic legal benchmark for measuring “Islamicity” of a state.

In addition to producing The Shariah Index book, comprised of the essays and deliberations of these scholars, and which provides the Index’s theoretical foundation, Cordoba will present the Annual State of the Muslim World Index. This index, which involves a partnership with the Gallup Organization, polls people from 44 Muslim-majority nations (and members of the Organization of Islamic Conference) on how well their nations comply in practice with this Islamic legal benchmark of an Islamic State.

The Organization of Islamic Conference has 57 states. You may recall a certain Democratic politician talking about “57 states… and one left to go”.

Uh, I’ve now been in fifty – … seven states, I think one left to go. Uh, one left to go.

Michelle Obama’s trip to Spain included meetings with high-powered Muslims, and Jesse Jackson Jr. just happened to be in Marbella a the same time Michelle Obama was. I contend that Michelle’s trip was an endorsement of the Cordoba Initiative.

The Muslims seek a world-wide Muslim Caliphate. “Cordoba” is a reference to the the furthest western extent of a Muslim caliphate from the 8th century to the 15th century. It’s no accident that “Cordoba” is used for the name of this new push to extend Muslim Sharia law further west.

Sharia law is subversive to our Constitution, and should be treated as such. Anyone in the U.S. who is supporting Sharia law is trying to subvert our constitution. I’d call it treason.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is supporting Sharia law in the U.S.A.

And the Democrats are fully supporting Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf.

Yes, make this a campaign issue.

I will never understand why Obama’s history of supporting and actively campaigning for his cousin, Raila Odinga has never been questioned by mainstream America. Odigna campaigned on implementing Sharia Law and murdered Christians. Obama went to Kenya in 2006 to campaign for him ON THE TAXPAYER DIME. Odinga , now prime minister of Kenya signed SHARIA LAW into effect this past August. OBAMA CAMPAIGNED FOR SHARIA LAW. What does it take to get people to see what is right in from of them????

    Guys:

Yes, the reason why Republicans don’t even try to win is part of the “Rove strategy.” This line of thinking relegates Republicans to “red” states, and writes off portions of the country.

Remember how McCain “wrote off” Michigan? Yes, such winning strategies.

One of the main reasons (among many) I support Palin’s brand of Republicanism, b/c its offensive. She has no fear to go into places like Boston, Michigan, and Delaware.

Exhibit A: Delaware. We are told incessantly by these same “gurus” that Delware is unwinnable for a consitutational conservative.

Exhibit B: NY, as you so eloquently detail.

This is akin to forfeiting a game. So, what has afflicted the ruling class Republicans is this EXPECTATION of losing.

To anyone who has ever played a sport, would you want this as your coaching philosphy?

Speaking as a New Yorker that does not live in NYC, I can tell you that no one upstate would be offended if the republican candidates wail on the GZVM issue, except a few libtards who won’t vote for anything but a “d” anyway. We were affected deeply in the “51st state” by the events on 9/11/01.

And you are correct; we have more soggy cucumber with mayo on white bread republicans in NY than even you in Chicago have. I have not seen a republican run on a truly conservative platform my entire life in New York. I believe the republicans are petrified of winning. When they do win, it’s always a RINO like George Pataki (who did more tax and spend than even his predecessor Mario Cuomo). When someone truly interested in killing the machine comes along (like Eliot Spitzer), they are taken down immediately. No one wants to risk that except someone like Palladino who has his own money.

Palladino has it down – hammer them on the obvious, no matter what they call you. Seems to be working, but I have little hope that the other “r”s will catch on. He was a Tea Party candidate. The Cocktail Party doesn’t get it and never will.

Thank you very much for that.

I found a site that has three different translations of the Koran. Here are the three translations for 18:21…

      018.021

YUSUFALI: Thus did We make their case known to the people, that they might know that the promise of Allah is true, and that there can be no doubt about the Hour of Judgment. Behold, they dispute among themselves as to their affair. (Some) said, “Construct a building over them”: Their Lord knows best about them: those who prevailed over their affair said, “Let us surely build a place of worship over them.”

PICKTHAL: And in like manner We disclosed them (to the people of the city) that they might know that the promise of Allah is true, and that, as for the Hour, there is no doubt concerning it. When (the people of the city) disputed of their case among themselves, they said: Build over them a building; their Lord knoweth best concerning them. Those who won their point said: We verily shall build a place of worship over them.

SHAKIR: And thus did We make (men) to get knowledge of them that they might know that Allah’s promise is true and that as for the hour there is no doubt about it. When they disputed among themselves about their affair and said: Erect an edifice over them– their Lord best knows them. Those who prevailed in their affair said: We will certainly raise a masjid over them.

My friend got back to me on the different interpretations. In a nutshell this is what she said: “Gracie, it seems that the Qur’anic ayah 18:21 is an example of a verse taken out of context and used (inaccurately) as a justification as to why Muslims build victory mosques. At the link below, you can read Surah Al-Kahf (The Cave) in English. You will see that the Arabic words in the 21st verse (alayhim masjidan) meaning upon them… a place of prayer/prostration, refers to people of the city sealing them up in a cave. The miracle was that they survived…for several hundred years according to some legends. It has nothing to do with victory mosques and is an ancient legend found in many cultures.”

“There is an account in Islam about pious people, and are known as “People of the Cave” (Ashab Al-Kahf). Qur’an, in Sura 18, Al-Kahf, verse 9 to 14. The story tells of the falling asleep of seven young men in a cave, who wake up after a great deal of time has passed.” She refers to the Cave Surah.

Maybe it will help Paladino. I hope so!

For once, I think Bill has his facts wrong, probably after being forcefed incorrect information.

In endorsing the GZ mosque he mentioned the “many Muslims” who lost their lives on 9/11. [Presumably all people who talk about this are NOT including the 19 Muslim hijackers -- but who knows.]

Bloomberg, Rauf, his wife Daisy Khan, and other mosque proponents keep referring to some 300 Muslims being killed in the WTC attacks. IOW, more than 10% of the victims were Muslims, they say, even though Muslims are less than 1.5% of the American population, and at most 3% of the NYC metro area.

The 300 number is a flat-out lie. The highest reliable figure on the number of Muslim victims on 9/11 is 59.

Because this number is based on the victims’ names, even 59 is probably an overestimation: many Christians and even Jews from majority-Muslim countries have Muslim-sounding names; and a large percentage of nominally Muslim immigrants to the U.S. come here to ESCAPE Islam, not to practice it.

My bet is there were probably 15-20 true Muslim victims on 9/11, whose memory of course should be honored along with all other victims.

But no doubt Bill took the lie of 300 to be the truth; otherwise it is very hard to square his belief that the “many Muslim” victims of 9/11 require their very own $100 million Ground Zero mosque.

He just plain got this one wrong — and I’m so glad it was him and not Hillary who took this indefensible stand.

People continue to make excuses for the Clintons but actions speak louder than words.

I just sent this to Chris Gibson, running for the House seat in NY20. I agree this is a great campaign issue for the Republican candidates. Here in my area of upstate, just about everyone I know is angered by this too.

From the link Amsterdam Expat provided above…

The “Ground Zero Mosque” which is really a rabat…

In fact, the proposed structure is known in Islamic history as a rabat — literally a connector. The first rabat appeared at the time of the Prophet.

The Prophet imposed his rule on parts of Arabia through a series of ghazvas, or razzias (the origin of the English word “raid”). The ghazva was designed to terrorize the infidels, convince them that their civilization was doomed and force them to submit to Islamic rule. Those who participated in the ghazva were known as the ghazis, or raiders.

After each ghazva, the Prophet ordered the creation of a rabat — or a point of contact at the heart of the infidel territory raided. The rabat consisted of an area for prayer, a section for the raiders to eat and rest and facilities to train and prepare for future razzias. Later Muslim rulers used the tactic of ghazva to conquer territory in the Persian and Byzantine empires. After each raid, they built a rabat to prepare for the next razzia.

It is no coincidence that Islamists routinely use the term ghazva to describe the 9/11 attacks against New York and Washington. The terrorists who carried out the attack are referred to as ghazis or shahids (martyrs).

Thus, building a rabat close to Ground Zero would be in accordance with a tradition started by the Prophet. To all those who believe and hope that the 9/11 ghazva would lead to the destruction of the American “Great Satan,” this would be of great symbolic value.

Faced with the anger of New Yorkers, the promoters of the project have started calling it the Cordoba House, echoing President Obama’s assertion that it would be used to propagate “moderate” Islam.

The argument is that Cordoba, in southern Spain, was a city where followers of Islam, Christianity and Judaism lived together in peace and produced literature and philosophy.

In fact, Cordoba’s history is full of stories of oppression and massacre, prompted by religious fanaticism. It is true that the Muslim rulers of Cordoba didn’t force their Christian and Jewish subjects to accept Islam. However, non-Muslims could keep their faith and enjoy state protection only as dhimmis (bonded ones) by paying a poll tax in a system of religious apartheid.

If whatever peace and harmony that is supposed to have existed in Cordoba were the fruit of “Muslim rule,” the subtext is that the United States would enjoy similar peace and harmony under Islamic rule.

A rabat in the heart of Manhattan would be of great symbolic value to those who want a high-profile, “in your face” projection of Islam in the infidel West.

If Taheri is correct — and I have no reason for thinking that he isn’t — it’s even worse than we thought, and the duplicities coming from Rauf’s mouth, depending on in which language he’s speaking and to whom, are far greater.

But regardless of whether it’s a mosque, a cultural center, or a rabat, that it’s even being considered is a sign of how insane our Obamafied elite has gotten to be.

You have got to go to http://www.chrisgibsonforcongress.com! He needs our help to win NYs 20th Congressional District! He is retired from the US Army after 24 years of service and rose to the rank of Colonel. He served 4 combat tours in Iraq. The last of his seven deployments was when he went to Haiti. Aside from the issues for which I agree with him, when I heard him speak for the first time he said, “America should be proud of what we did to support the humanitarian effort in Haiti.” My goodness, I haven’t heard we should be proud to be American in many, many years. At that point I was sold on his candidacy. Chris Gibson is AWESOME and much better looking than Scottie McHottie – Scott Brown! He’s being outfundraised by his carpetbagger incumbent opponent who has Acorn going door to door and the financial backing of the unions and the DNC he needs our help to win this!.

OK, can’t stand it…here is the last paragraph: “The family respectfully asked in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to the campaign of whoever is running against President Barack Obama in 2012.”
