FLORIDA GROUND REPORT
Dear HillBuzz,
What a difference a day makes. Right? Here in Florida
the senate race just gets more surreal every day. Late
last night there was a breaking report of the Democratic candidate
for senate who was ‘asked’ to withdraw. The report included
Charlie Can’t-Decide-What-Party-To-Affiliate-With Crist.
with him. He so seemed like a snake oil salesman to me. Now mind you,
I used to really feel favorably about Crist as our governor
until he seemed to forget all the first principles that I
thought he possessed.
Crist said that Bill Clinton had asked or suggested to Kendrick
Meeks that he drop out of the race to help Independent running
candidate, Charlie Crist. Crist stated that he ‘talked’ to
people in the White House but would not name them. Evidently,
Meeks was told by Big Dawg that he could be a hero by removing
himself from the race while Big Dawg was in Florida campaigning
with Meeks.
In an email I received this am from the Meeks campaign it is stated
that Kendrick Meeks will remain in the race until the last second of
the last hour of the last day of the campaign. With the current poll
numbers, if correct, should Meek voters turn to Crist, then Rubio
may possibly be defeated.
In Greta’s interview with Charlie Crist, he lost me as a supporter
FOREVER.I suspect hundreds upon hundreds of other Floridians will be
lost to Crist forever as well. Charlie Crist stating that Marco Rubio
was a candidate of the RIGHT WING extremist Tea Party was just beyond
the pale. Hello.
Governor Charlie Can’t-Decide-What-Party-To-Affiliate-With Crist, your
career as a politician is over. Did you not think it transparent when
you made your DC trips to meet with White House thugs that we did not
see the handwriting on the wall? Sir, you are a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
As a Floridian, as an American, as a patriot, and as a Mama Grizzly
I am outraged at Charlie Crist’s lack of first principles and integrity.
With friends like you who needs enemies? Get over yourself,
Charlie Can’t-Decide-What-Party-To-Affiliate-With Crist!
Please vote on Tuesday, November 2nd and take a child with you to the
polls. I can see 2012 from my house.
Naughty Monky

I still can’t believe the gall of those that thought that if Meek left the race all his supporters would automatically go vote for Crist. I wouldn’t be so sure. IMO, Crist would at most get half the Meek supporters and the other half being black Americans would just stay home, pissed that their guy couldn’t get it done. Half of Meeks supporters would NOT tip the scales towards Crist. He of course has NO chance of getting any conservatives and as we all know Independents these days are leaning right, not left in the direction of Crist.
If Rubio does not win this thing resoundingly, I will be shocked.
Rubio’s a lock at this point and this Christ-Meek nonsense only hurts Alex Sink.
Agreed. Of course, Sink did herself no favors whilst breaking the rules of the last debate. And spinning yarns about it. And getting caught spinning yarns.
It ain’t the crime that does you in politics, it’s the cover up.
Rick Scott will be the next governor of Florida. Sink is sunk!!
It has damaged Sink So much. Sink could have won, but it has also hurt Democrats all over the state.
Crist is just the gift that keeps on giving ever since he left the GOP.
Congressman West will soon be in DC.
Crist, not Christ. Obviously.
Ture. Many people would vote for Meek anyway and over a 1/3rd of people have already voted.
Plus Meek has character and Crist doesn’t. Many people who support Meek would rather Rubio that Crsit.
Just heard a small snip of Rush today, in which he was pointing out the way this demonstrates how identity-block Dems are SO confident that they have black voters in their back pocket for their political use, that they’re willing to screw the black guy(Meeks) in favor of a white rich guy (Crist) so that the horror of horrors does not happen: a smart, conservative, anti-amnesty Latino gets into office and messes up their working over of Latinos, as they attempt to lock them in as their next rock-solid, unthinking voting block.
Does Crist technically qualify as a ‘white’ guy. I think he is more ‘orange’. Is that a category?
I have already voted for Rubio! Go Marco!
Hahahah. I hadn’t thought of that. He’s got his own ooompa loompa constituency…the orange people.
He needs to listen to some of those Oompa Loompa songs – good lessons!
I’d love to see a commercial with an oompa loompa singing about what you get when you lie and try to steal an election
I had the same startled opinion. Why would a constituency that voted in the high 90 percentile for Obama suddenly not vote for a Black candidate for Senate because Bill Clinton said so? Because there’s “a deal?” Because the White guy is now the governor and can make life miserable for those who don’t vote for him?
Crist’s facial expressions were out of control. He looked like and spoke to Greta as a school marm acting like she should know better than to question Bill Clinton’s judgement. And taking on Meek as if he actually did agree to some deal and now he’s a bad guy for backing out. Who’s the bad guy for thinking it up? The left and most D’s are just making me sick again. When they are about to take a drubbing for just this type of behavior…what do they do? MAKE DEALS!!!
Idiots.
I agree. This is just so insulting, that it is assumed that all blacks would fall in lockstep to support a white guy over a black Democrat because the white guy has “gravity” supposedly due to his being turned over to the Democrat side from the Republican side.
your right. Clever Conservative Blacks and Latinos in elected office are the death of the Democratic Party.
A voting block gone, and more swing voters in the minority comunity is posin for the Democrats.
Republican Marco Rubio is cruising toward the finish line, according to a new poll by Mason-Dixon Polling & Research.
The results, released Friday morning, show Rubio with a 17-point lead over independent Gov. Charlie Crist and a 24-point lead over Democratic Congressman Kendrick Meek.
Rubio is now supported by 45 percent of voters, whi…le Crist gets 28 percent and Meek gets 21 percent. Rubio’s lead is now bigger than ever – virtually insurmountable, according to Mason-Dixon pollster Brad Coker.
“Stick a fork it in,” Coker said, “because it’s done.”
Can’t wait until it is signed, sealed and delivered.
I know it ain’t over ’till it’s over, but I sure hope you’re right!
I will be voting for Mr. Rubio here in FL, I was fortunate enough to work with many Cuban refugees both in IL and FL, very hard working, honest people/also very passionate, excitable and fun.

Very sharp business people too, Desi Arnaz
This is exactly the kind of B.S. politics Americans are sick of. The kind of “I didn’t say that, he didn’t ask me, he did say that, he did ask me, I wasn’t going to do it before I was going to do it, etc etc etc.” No wonder Americans are sick of all of them. I don’t know if they get it, but we’d like to make a clean sweep of all the politicians and just start over. Too bad it’s not possible.
Unless I heard incorrectly, it was just this week that the last “request to drop out” came to Meek? If so… weren’t the names on the ballots already? Weren’t the absentee ballots, and early voter ballots, already done? In other words- wouldn’t it have been effectively too late to withdraw? Or were they going to do an “automatic movement” of all Meek votes to the orange man whether the voters wanted that done or not? Based on what the D’s did with Hillary my guess would be that this is what they would have done- which would have been ANOTHER huge “steal” of votes against the will of the voters. My gosh, doesn’t the D leadership EVER learn???? Grrrrrrrr……
Hey! This is Florida. Apparently they have a system where you can devine the voters’ “intent” if you stare long enough at some pregnant chad.
If they tried that again this time there would have been a howl across the country like has never been heard before.
Update: as of 5 AM this morning 10/30, Meeks is reporting that Christ called him at 4:45 Monday morning to offer him a “cross” that his sister gave him if he would back out of the race and give it to him. Meek’s Chief of Staff is saying that obviously Crist has lost his “marbles” because no one calls at that hour of the morning to talk. When you get a call that early, there is bad news.
This is really turning into a cheap soap opera, with Crist playing a staring role as the cheap slut from across the tracks that is trying to blackmail/bully her way into society. What. A. Mess. I’m so sorry for y’all down there Florida. You do have some strange political happenings…but great weather!!! And blue waters. And longer days…
Has anyone else been polled by the DNC here in Florida? I just got a call and was asked which candidates did I support, Dem, Repub or Independent.
As I saw on another blog:
Rubio I like.
Meeks I respect.
Crist…meh.
ROTFL!!!
Meek is a good guy, He believes in what he says and you can’t help but like him.
You know, if Crist is so stupid and politically tone-deaf that he would come out openly and, as a former Republican, basically pledge his allegiance to the Democrat party in a last-ditch effort to get elected – assuming that the Democrat BLACK GUY would be willing to step aside to clear the way for Crist – assuming that the black voters would then hold their noses and VOTE for Crist, and assuming that the majority of the voters in Florida are so STUPID that they would just fall in line with whatever BILL CLINTON says…
Holy Cow! That is so much stupid, tone-deaf thinking that my head almost exploded! Is Crist really this stupid? He needs to retire in a big hurry, and I think the voters in Florida can help make that happen on Tuesday.
Put a fork in Crist. He is DONE!
That’s what I was saying! These people are delussional!

As an aside, Crist’s campaign bus has a giant “FABULOUS” emblazoned on it…
What campaign has ever had such a slogan??
Send a picture of that bus.
HillBuzz@gmail.com
That is just TOO FUNNY!
I did a search for photos and found this:
http://www.emeraldcoastphotoseast.com/mycapture/enlarge.asp?image=32404108&event=1106457&CategoryID=28403
FABULOUS is on the bus (back and sides), but it is the bus company’s name.
It is still funny though.
He should really come out.
Fabulous Bus Lines – laugh out loud funny.
I have already voted for Rubio. I caught a bit of Crist on Greta and the part where he said something to the effect that Rubio does not represent the people of Florida – too extreme and so forth. Well, I thought how about let’s let the people of Florida decide that at the polls. He’s lucky he got to be governor for as long as he did. But that was before he revealed himself as republican turned independent turned democrat, a true (political) whore.
But the nerve of trying to push a black candidate out of the race to try to defeat a hispanic with a great American story – that Charlie is NOT what the people of Florida stand for. I can pretty much assure you of that.
Yeah, he’s talking to about 10 people in Florida is all I can say. He has no idea what the people of Florida want. And I keep saying it but Meek is doing the exact RIGHT THING in this case. He will be a good position for Bill Nelson’s spot in 2012. Although of course, I hope a good strong conservative will go up against him again and we can have TWO conservative senators. I admit though, that Floridians tend to be big on balance…if we have one conservative, the independents will want a liberal in the other seat. At least that’s how it’s seemed to be for as long as I can remember.
Marco!
