Fast and Furious: White House still behind Eric Holder
I feel like these Fast and Furious posts are beginning to be weekly (sometimes daily) briefings….things are happening so quickly. Yesterday at a press briefing, Jay Carney made it perfectly clear that the White House continues to support Eric Holder and maintains that the AG isn’t hiding anything…that he didn’t (nor did the White House) know about the details of Fast and Furious.
(The Hill)“The president believes he’s an excellent attorney general and has great confidence in him, and we absolutely know that the testimony he gave was consistent and truthful,” Carney told reporters at a press briefing.
If this were any other Administration, the AG would have turned in his resignation by now…if for no other reason than to take responsibility for their team. If something bad happens in your department on your watch….it’s your responsibility. Eric Holder acts as if the Department of Justice has nothing to do with the ATF. Alberto Gonzales turned in his resignation to President Bush for something far less scandalous than Fast and Furious. So why does the White House continue to back Holder? Probably because they really need him to oversee the 2012 elections. How else are they going to get away with voter fraud (think Black Panther voter intimidation)? Voter fraud may be the only way that Barack Obama will remain in the White House. They know they have a very dear friend and partner in crime in Holder….one who can mysteriously make voter fraud complaints disappear (even with video tape evidence)….one who can mysteriously make military absentee ballots disappear. I have always thought that Holder is just holding his breath and stonewalling the investigation to get through the 2012 elections where he is praying for a congressional democratic takeover. Then he can throw the Fast and Furious investigation out the window because he will be able to control what gets investigated and what doesn’t. Hey…who knows…they may even be able to continue with Fast and Furious and get the gun control legislation that they want. The sky would be the limit… which scares the hell out of me.
This is all just my crazy theory.

"Fast and Furious: White House still behind Eric Holder"
In fact, I bet the White House was behind the whole thing.
And I bet you're right
I've been thinking that if it looks like this fiasco will make it all the way to the WH, that Obama will throw Holder under the bus in an attempt to save himself.
That probably won't work, but the Narcissist-N-Chief will have to try something. This thing is snowballing and getting beyond their control. I'm just hoping it mows down the entire administration.
I agree and I think that there is proof that the White House was behind it. Please go to Big Government for information.
the money for it was in the 09 porkulous package
They picked Chicago as their headquarters for a reason. Go back to Illinois for answers.
U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald has been protecting all of them ! See for yourself.

Five weekly memos (FIVE. WEEKLY. MEMOS.) since July 2010 (SINCE. JULY. 2010) and yet Holder told Congress he heard of F&F in April, 2011. Of course he knew, and so did BO. Congress please cue special prosecutor Walpin and let the indictments begin.. .http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/10/06/republicans-say-holder-received-at-least-5-fast-and-furious-memos/
Bridget you might want to check the provided link. This is a story that is also on Big Government. Eric Holder was receiving 5 memos per week relating to Fast and Furious. He lied. He committed perjury and what he has done is far worse than what Martha Stewart did, and he deserves to be in prison.
Thanks ozzie. I checked the link, which isn't working now. It was the top story on Fox online this morning, but has now been placed "below the fold." Perhaps some of the more tech savvy readers can retrieve this morning's original story.
Who knows, maybe Holder has the same amnesia that plagued plugs-Joe when Joe didn't remember who van jones was, even though biden was suppose to have vetted this guy. This is better than comedy. But, it's time for justice. The deal between the wh and holder is that they'll keep him protected, but he's got to protect the wh. It's like the movie, "The Firm."
I agree that Holder is grimly holding on in the faint hope that the GOP will lose the congress and the Dems will come to his rescue. If he resigns now though, doesn't a successor have to be approved by Congress? If so, Obama is probably propping up Holder knowing that anyone Obama presents as a replacement will be really grilled by Congress and the chances are he has no confederate that could pass an actual vetting. The position could easily remain vacant until Obama is ejected from the WH by the voters.
Holder is to BO as the corrupt police chief is to the corrupt city mayor. Wink, nod. Ever hear of Chicago?
I really hope Cain is the GOP nominee. The reality is they Republican establishment lost their balls decades ago. This Black Panther stuff proves it – where is the outrage from the GOP? Where is it over Solyndra, where is it over Fast and Furious? The GOP consists of a bunch of wimps with one or two tigers like Walsh in the bunch. It is disgusting. No one wants to fight anymore. Maybe an outsider like Can will breathe some life back into the party.
Can't you just imagine these guys saying "You lie and I'll swear to it".
Let's also remember the Pigford scandal.
About F & F, my congressman is on the committee looking at this mess. He was on my local radio program this morning saying the congressional committee isn't readu to hand this over to a special prosecutor. The committee knows Holder is lying and he is going to be recalled to do some more testifying. If a special prosecutor were to step in now, the congressional investigation would come to a halt and be locked down. More to come, I'm sure.
I just saw your post on the Open Thread. It is very telling how the LSM swept Pigford under the rug. That is a huge scandal! It makes me wonder how may more scandals are out there we aren't even aware of yet.
Hopefully, Issa is still spearheading the committee on Pigford.
"According to Department of Justice whistleblower J. Christian Adams, AG Eric Holder has a certain something in his wallet. It is a quotation — and he has carried it for decades. It essentially says, to quote Adams, "Blackness is more important than anything, and the black US attorney has common cause with the black criminal." It's not surprising that Holder would feel this way about black lawyers and criminals.
Because in his case they're one and the same.
Holder, the man whose misfeasance led him to drop the infamous Black Panther voter-intimidation case, now may have done what all corrupt men, sooner or later, eventually do. He has tripped up in his efforts to hide his misdeeds" -From American Thinker site..
Don't forget Holder was the organiser of Clinton's infamous last minute pardons (ex Marc Rich), supposedly to the fury of many in DoJ. Will someone leak info in revenge or have those people mostly retired by now ?
A Fast and Felonious question for the president; Update: Obama reiterates “complete confidence” in Holder; Document drop: an avalanche of Holder F&F memos
What does the president have to say to the family of slain former Marine, police officer, and Border Patrol officer Brian Terry?
They want answers. They haven’t gotten them.
They want accountability. There has been none.

I don't disagree but, that's not the end of the problem/fight for that. A treaty has to be approved by the Senate; 2/3ds majority, I think. And, a treaty cannot legally conflict with the Constitution, the Constitution overrides treaties. But do this bunch of Constitutional scholars know that? I wouldn't bet on it.
I agree; the WH needs Holder to oversee the election in 2012 to protect their interests. They also can't have him out there being subjected to legal inquiries; while he's part of the administration, they can protect him from being subject to legal actions. But it's a double-edge sword too; while Holder remains, he epitomizes Obama's corruption, and cronyism and Chicago-ism. Clinging tightly to that anvil could be a huge burden for Obama's re-election [rightly so!].
