Q: Why do you call the current president “Dr. Utopia”?

A: Uh, because in the 1940s someone prescient made this cartoon which sums the current president up pretty damn well:

Q: Why hasn’t my comment shown up in a post?

A:  Did you say something nasty about Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin, Bill Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, gay people, or anyone else we like and support?  If so, you should be spreading your nastiness elsewhere, because it won’t be tolerated here.  We run this site for free, at great personal expense to ourselves in time and treasure.  It is our little corner of the Internet, and attacks on the people we like won’t be accepted.  Sorry if you can’t handle that, but take your two-minute hate over to Daily Kos.

If you haven’t been spreading nastiness, please know that WordPress has a mind of its own.  Your IP address could be blocked on other sites, so it turns up as a spammer here.  Or, you’ve never posted here before, and your comment is in moderation, which depending on server traffic, could mean it will be in limbo for a while.

Also, if you post more than three sentences, and include any links, WordPress also tags you as spam, we’ve noticed.  There are many, many bot computers sending Cialis and Xanax or Viagra posts everywhere…so it’s a shame everyone has to suffer, but if the spam filters weren’t on, then there would be endless Cialis posts everywhere.  It’s an imperfect world and WordPress is not the best platform, but it’s where things are right now so it’s the best we can do.

Q: Why haven’t you posted anything in several days?

A: Because we all work at least two jobs here trying to make ends meet in an increasingly more expensive and overtaxed city like Chicago.  While we would love to be paid bloggers like Michelle Malkin and just write a column and run blog posts and essays every day with nothing else on our plate, we’re all working day jobs while waitering, bartending, and doing all sorts of Funemployment, crazy gigs to keep roofs over our heads and dinner on the menu.  If we can’t post something for a while, it’s because we are busy trying to make our rent.

Anything you can contribute to the tip jar in appreciation of our writing and information really does make a big difference…and helps alleviate a little of the pressure, while giving us great encouragement to keep going everyday, using all our free time to snark on politics and put opinion out there.

Q: Who are you and why are you so fascinated with Hillary Clinton?

A: See link above.

What does “sometimes the universe brings you the wrong french toast” mean?

A: See link above.

How do you feel about “gay marriage”?

A: See link above.

How can you support both Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin at the same time? (and we say back, how can you have two favorite teachers in different subjects…or like two different football teams…or drink Coke and Pepsi?  Last time we checked, this is still America, and it does not have to always be an Us v. Them world, no matter what the MSM and Liberals try to convince you).

I found you guys on Rush Limbaugh’s site before the election, so that tells you how conservative I am. Since then I have become a frequent visitor here and have donated $ for your campaign trip just before the election. When I see what’s going on in the news I like to come here and get your take on it because you guys have great perspective. I sometimes kick around the idea of leaving my day job (Marketing at Microsoft) to get involved in politics because there are so many dishonest politicians. I want to know if it naturally attracts dishonest people or if they start out being honest and get corrupt along the way (Dems and GOP). I love Sarah Palin and I’m about her age with kids so I have a lot in common with her. To your questions….I was not big on Hillery but would rather have had her for president then McCain or Obama. Then when she ran for pres I found myself feeling so sorry for her over the way she treated that I found myself rallying for her. I think the french toast statement means life is not always fair. As for gay marriage, sorry but honestly I cannot support it due to my Christin beliefs, however I have gay family members and friends and loved your comments on Bush’s last day about how he treated the gay community. I wanted to know if you guys had seen Rush’s speach to CPAC and if so what did you think? The video can be seen on hotair.com. Thanks for reading – I hope this provides a little insight into your audience. Keep up the great work!

  2. Colorado Mom Says:

I actually found you guys during this last election cycle. I’m an independent, lean right fiscally, left socially. I find your blog refreshingly honest. I was actually listening to Rush in carpool the day he referred to you all as “babes”. I just LMAO and thought how great that was. It was priceless.

I knew from the beginning that Hillary would have been a much better choice than Obama. I never agreed with how Hillary was treated as first lady but was honestly too young to be really involved in politics. I was in college and too self involved, LOL.

I was appalled at how she was treated during the primaries and got engaged in politics. My husband and I used to discuss what brought out the intense emotions that Hillary and female leaders in general evoke in some. He thinks its mommy issues and not party line issues and I tend to agree but that is another discussion. We both strongly defended Hillary and my hubby is pretty conservative, not republican but conservative. However, he is a strong believer in women.

I think my wounds were still oozing when Palin came on the scene and the viciousness began again. I love Sarah Palin. She is the real thing and boldly honest. That is someone I can trust. She is a great role model for my daughter and the left just tried to destroy her.

French toast, Is it ever bad?? I interpret this to be that the Universe can bring unexpected blessings in unexpected ways. Maybe not what I was hoping or looking for but a feast none-the-less.

Gay marriage. I believe in a separation of church and state and I am a Christian. The state has a right to marry anyone they choose and people have a right to marry anyone they so choose. The state should give marriage rights to everyone. However, the church has the same right as well since it is a separate entity. If they choose to decline to marry someone (anyone) that should be their right. I know I can’t get married in a catholic church because I am not catholic. Just as I don’t want churches telling states what to do, I don’t want states telling churches what to do. Does that make sense? So yes, I believe in marriage for everyone. I am a christian and I don’t think we have done so great with the “sanctity of marriage” thing. I am also for compromise so if it makes it better for some then call it a civil union, whatever, it is still commitment by law. Unfortunately, with marriage can come divorce and that is always heartbreaking for anyone.

I don’t have a Hillbuzz T-shirt but they are awesome!! I wish you made one for a 6 yr old. My daughter would wear it proudly!!

    Keep up the good work!

    Thanks for all you do!

I was so excited for Hillary when the 2008 Primary Season started. I had such high hopes for her to win.

I became so disheartened when the MSNBC crew started calling for her to quit right away. I thought I was alone in thinking that the Media had it wrong. The day she quit, I was so sad I couldn’t bear to watch her speech. I still feel that she was treated horribly by the Democratic Party and the Media.

I was so elated when I found out about the PUMAs. Your site quickly became one of my favs. You got me through the insanity of the 2008 election with your wit and sense of humor. I’m still coming back for more.

    Love. Your. Blog.

I just love hillbuzz.com. I found your web page a few months ago and I hit it every day to see what you guys are up to. Whoever writes the columns, you are brilliant. I am sooo amazed at the hard work you do to bring us information about the Obamas and have a desire to really get involved at his defeat in 2010. Our country really needs energized patriots right now.

I am a stauch conservative for 50 yrs now which now tells you how old I am. I am anti-communist and pro individualist/capitalist and I am sick at the direction Obama is taking this country. I suggest a book to read “None Dare call it
Treason” by John Stormer. It is an old book published in 1964. I read it when it first came out and it changed my life. It reveals all the tactics of taking over America to communism. I found it on ebay and rereading it and learning anew how communists never give up. Marxism has never died only remained dormant till Obama came along.
Keep up the good work. I want to donate to your web site and want to know if you take paypal. Doris

  8. Old One Says:

Glad you are back posting and working to deliver us from Obozo, Axelrule, Zeke and Deadfish Emamanuel and the rest of the Chicago Chicago thugs that have usurped our nation.
Though I am a conservative I would have chosen Hillary over Obumer or Mc Lame any day. I for one appreciate your speaking the truth and exposing how the media trashed Hillary and are no wdoing the same to Sarah Palin.
Plase post a mailing address where I can send you contributions. It will be small each time beacuse as a retiree I have financial limits.

  9. Hello,

I work for a radio programme call World Have Your Say. We are doing a programme about the 2016 Olympic games tomorrow.

After reading your comments about saying your city from the games I would really like to talk to you about being a guest on our programme.

    Best regards, Helen

  10. Daddy48 Says:

I am hoping to find another job fast, but we all know how that is. ,

  11. Gini D Says:

I was sent your post thanking the Bush’s for visiting Fort Hood. Checked out your website, honestly, to see if the post was legitimate. Then I got hooked reading other posts…. I should warn you — I’m one of those dreaded right winged, conservative Christians. However, my son, an independent, says that I am a “thinking Republican,” which I take as a compliment. I hope it’s true. Anyway, I found myself thinking a lot as I read your posts, and you know what? I like you guys. I like the way you think, and I like the way you make me think. I like the fact that you wrestle with complex subjects in a fair and meaningful way. Keep it up!

  12. PAM Says:

    Dear Hillbuzz,

Your post on George and Laura Bush touched me deeply.

To me the greatest threat to our way of life is Radical Islam.

I would love to connect with you guys, I’m in Evanston!

  13. Laurs1 Says:

Interesting site. It was linked from Lucianne, I think. I thought the “Hill” is Hillbuzz was related to DC. Guess not. Am not a fan of HC, but few could be worse than Obama. Something is seriously wrong with him.

  14. Jim Hlavac Says:

As a life long 51 year old Reaganesque libertarian gay guy I’m in shock to find your website. And to see your slew of links to like minded sites. Now I have to go out and calm down from my uproar of Hallelujah! and joy. Since high school I was the lonely gay Constitutionalist promoting the Declaration and free markets at NYU in Greenwich Village — oh strange, yes, strange, to stumble here. It’s like you picked my mind and stole my thoughts. Keep this up and you may change the world for the better.

  15. Walt Shepard Says:

I have just read your apology to W and you have gained another follower of your blog. Please email me more information about you guys/gals.

  16. cindy graham Says:

I had never read or heard of you guys until I read your piece on the Bushes. What courage it took to admit your feelings. Just for y’all I’m going to bite my tongue a/b the Clintons and add you to my favorites! Thank you for your honesty and for not being a hate-monger-you may have started a trend. I hope you increase your readership a thousand(+) fold.

  17. Kierstin Says:

I wanted to tell you how touched I was by your apology posting & thank you to George W. Bush & Laura Bush; it takes a big person to admit that they were wrong.

It was eloquently written, obviously heartfelt and overtly sincere. I actually cried like a baby as I read (all 3 times) because I can see that people are finally starting to see what millions of us already knew; George W. Bush is a GREAT man, who always tried to do what he felt was right. He is only human, so of course he made some mistakes, but haven’t we all? He is a good man with a heart of gold and a spine of tempered steel.

    God bless you all.

  18. Steve Pierson Says:

Dennis Miller read part of the post about the Bushes’ visit to Fort Hood on his radio show today. He mentioned this blog, and I wanted to check it out.

I am a conservative guy from Idaho who tries to keep an open mind. Great to see a blog with a reasoned point of view. I will be passing this link to others and I will be back to read on a regular basis. Thank you.

  19. Saint Pitbull Says:

How does one get their picture in the upper right-hand corner?

  20. Powerbilly Says:

Found HillBuzz through a American Thinker link. How refreshing to see a thinking point of view and not be afraid to post it. You guys are great. Now I have to find an extra 15 minutes a day to read your blogs

  21. SeattleGal Says:

I’m a conservative who stumbled on your site and have been laughing all morning at your snarky, but dead on analysis.

My father was a bisexual man who died of AIDS. I have no issue with gay rights and I support equal rights for ALL citizens. However, I will not vote yes on Gay Marriage. My reason is that the gay rights advocates are just too nasty with their movement. They attack and insult anyone who views marriage differently from them. This is an issue that will cause alot of debate (like abortion) and those who remain reasonable and respectful will eventualy win the debate. So, my stance today is when Gays behave themselves and respect those with differing views, I will support them. Haven’t seen that until I stumbled onto this site. Good luck guys.

  22. Catbell Says:

Fiscal conservative, social moderate, always looking for fair and honest debate, and your new biggest fan. Love love love what you have to say and your balanced approach. And to extend and apology to Dubya, hopefully the first of many he deserves, well that just puts you in a class of your own in my book. Looking forward to the upcoming years of political debate.

  23. Laura Says:

How refreshing! I am a….hell, I don’t know anymore. I just know that I am seriously afraid for our country under Dr Utopia (love that name!) Reading your site today was a breath of fresh air. I shared the Bush article with my daughter (a big W fan) and it made her day – it’s her birthday. Thanks again and I will be donating to your cause.

  24. Saint Pitbull Says:

You know, you guys may have started something. Stay golden, pony boys!

  25. Penny Says:

Your post about the Bushes was one of Neal Boortz’s reading assignments today. Very impressive. Thank you. Have been nosing around the site, and have become your newest fan. I’m in Ohio and have had more than enough of Jennifer Brunner. Thank you for that piece as well. Keep up the good work!

  26. mycuddlebunny Says:

I just found your blog and I’m blown away. You espouse my foundational political views when you posit that we are all Americans first. I grew up in the south so I had to register as a democrat in order to have any kind of meaningful vote. 1976 was my first presidential election and I’m proud to say that I did not fall for the toothy Jimmy Carter schtick. Unfortunately my only other option was Ford (yikes!) I then registered republican and was proud to support Reagan for two terms. After the first Bush presidency and the shenanigans Congress began to conduct in full force of the public, I became an independent. Thus, if I was forced into a vote for McCain or Hillary, I probably would have voted for Hillary. Dr. Utopia is an apt moniker for our current POTUS. It reflects his naive and uninformed view of America and the world at large. I have to tell you that your blog is spritely, intelligent, savvy, devastatingly witty, and right on the money. Like many right now, I’m unable to support you monetarily but I will certainly recommend you to friends and colleagues. Keep it coming….!

  27. GT89nVinings Says:

Another who has stumbled in here courtesy of Neal Boortz, I’ve only started to scratch the surface of your site. I have friends in Chicago and had just assumed everyone there was drunk on the Dr. Utopia coolade and that here was absolutely, positively no room for disagreement. I’m a fiscal conservative above and beyond all else, and fall somewhere in the Goldwater Republican or Libertarian range otherwise. I’m absolutely sick and disillusioned by the hateful tactics of both party extremes and am encouraged to see folks here doing something other than simply spouting a party line. Not sure if you guys have a tent at Halstead Market Days, but will definitely keep my eye out next year.

  28. Michele Says:

A new fan here! I’m an Independent who voted for Hillary in the primary. If I had any money, I’d give it to you – because I like to support clear thinking people. Unfortunately, my business is so slow, I’m looking for additional. But, hey, I hear the recession is over. Whooopeee!! Oh wait a minute, that was just another untrue-but-nice-sounding message from this United States of Marketing presidential administration.

Well, back to scanning the job boards.

Keep up the honest writing and clear thinking.

  29. Charles Dore Says:

    New fan here –
I voted for Hillary in the Primary being frm Fla when I was told my vote would only count as half – We knew the Fix was In
I voted for Palin – not McCain even though I am a USNA alumn.

  30. [...] from the pages of Hillbuzz, a site I never thought I’d quote [...]

  31. songdongnigh Says:

I came here via a link by Pamela at Atlas Shrugs to your post on George Bush. Thanx much for allowing my little antidote to the comments. Your style and perspective is refreshing, insightful and a pleasure to read. HillBuzz is now on my blogroll and I will certainly be referencing more of your thoughts. Being a knuckle dragging Spiro Agnew Republican my little blog can use some class and an ally in the fight to preserve the Republic.

  32. Dustin Thomas Says:

I’m a die hard Rush Limbaugh listening, pro-life supporting, gun owning, marriage between a man and woman believing, Reagan following, Conservative Republican from Texas. All signs would say that you guys and me would be natural enemies like cats and dogs. Yet here I am to say thank you for what you have said in regards to President Bush, history shall show the truth of his greatness, and Barrack Osama.

Even if many of our core believes differ you have my respect and admiration for not drinking the cool aid and thinking for yourself rather than buying the hype. One thing I have learned is that as much as liberals attack us on the right it is nothing compared to the way they attack “traitors” to their cause so I know you guys have it tough.

Much love and much respect go out to you and know that despite what the media would have people believe not all of us on the right are homophobic bigots, anymore than all those on the left are racial tree hugging hippies. Stay the course and know that change is in the air, the sleeping dragon has awoken and has turned it’s eye to Barrack Osama.

  33. Greywolf Says:

I’m new here, and not sure what to think of this site just yet, but so far I like what appears to be your open mindedness to both sides of the political spectrum. But, I did see one post where you said you would talk nice about Obama if he ever did anything to warrant such action. I’m not sure that will happen. You REALLY seem to despise the guy! For good reason, I agree, but I’m just saying.

P.S. I plan on coming back often.

  34. Robert Says:

Dennis Miller read a blog you wrote on the air about George Bush, and I found it to be very even handed and moving. I’ve read more of your blogs here and they are very good and thought compelling. I have added your website to my RSS feeds and look forward to reading your blogs. We don’t agree 100%, and that’s ok because your writings reveal that you are open-minded to opposing views. I hope you don’t mind, but I’ll be sharing links to your articles in my Twitter posts.

  35. Carey Daste Says:

My mom forwarded me the blog about George and Laura Bush….I started clicking around and just love this site! Like others have written above, I may not agree with all of your views since I’ve never been a big fan of the Clintons and I am strongly conservative (although like Dustin Thomas above says, not all of us on the right are homophobic bigots), but at least the bottom line values seem to be in sync with mine. That cartoon sums it up nicely! :) And I love Gray Matters too! :)

    Thanks!

  36. RAbecca Says:

Guys, I’m truly impressed with your balance. I’ve got a question…what exactly do you like about Palin? And I’ve got a comment…you might have said this but I can’t find it – Can you imagine a Hillary/Palin ticket in 2012 or 2016?? Holy Crapy, Batman – that would be AWESOME!! Never happen, I know but I wish it so.

  37. Erin in CA Says:

Hi… I found your site after one of my regular blogs linked to a story. I’m a conservative (NOT republican), and absolutely fell in love with Sarah Palin that Thursday morning when she was introduced as McCains running partner. I’ll admit, when I first clicked on your blog, I was a bit skeptical because I haven’t supported the Clintons since ‘96 or so, but I kept reading, and was so pleasantly surprised that, even tho we are from two different ideologies, you are saying and believe the same things I do, especially regarding the media, and how they treat female candidates. I know how painful it was for you to see Hillary treated the way she was, because thats how OUR candidates have been treated, especially the women. I see this blog as a transendancy above politics, and its so refreshing to know that there are folks out there, on the other side, who have realized how screwed up the political process has become. That you are such strong supporters of Palin gives me hope that maybe, just once, we can get the day-to-day gotcha politics OUT of the system (well, most of it anyway) and elect someone like US..common Americans who are scared of what our great country is turning into. This is one of my first reads of the day… so keep it up! I’ve recommended you to all my conservative friends and family. Lets get Sarah elected!!

  38. Angela Says:

I stumbled upon this blog from somewhere about a week ago. Can I just say that your perspective is so refreshing?! I’ve been inhabiting, probably to my detriment, the conservative “echo chamber” and really wanted to find people outside of that who can still affirm the bulk of my values. Thank you for being that place. It is nice to know that there is more that unites us than divides us. This is what will save America. Stay strong and stay engaged. You are doing great work.

  39. crystal Says:

Can I gush over you all one last time? I love love love Hillbuzz!!! I discovered you via Gateway Pundit, and I am seriously in love. Your articles are witty, thought-provoking, and extremely well-written, I aalso admire the sacrifice you all make, working multiple jobs and such. You all are extremely talented, and much appreciated!
Thanks, all the way from Oklahoma.
P.S….Please keep doing articles on Michelle’s “tragedies”, as you call them:-) No one else will touch this subject, so thanks for the LOLZ!
God bless you all, and may He increase you in every area!

AN ALASKA FISHERMAN’S ‘TAKE’ ON SARAH PALIN

    By Dewie Whetsell

As posted in comments on Greta’s article referencing the MOVEON ad about Sarah Palin

The last 45 of my 66 years I’ve spent in a commercial fishing town in Alaska I understand Alaska politics but never understood national politics well until this last year. Here’s the breaking point: Neither side of the Palin controversy gets it. It’s not about persona, style, rhetoric, it’s about doing things. Even Palin supporters never mention the things that I’m about to mention here.

1- Democrats forget when Palin was the Darling of the

Democrats, because as soon as she took the Governor’s office away from a fellow Republican and tough SOB, Frank Murkowski, she tore into the Republican’s “Corrupt Bastards Club” (CBC) and sent them packing. Many of them are now residing in State housing and wearing orange jump suits. The Democrats reacted by skipping around the yard, throwing confetti and singing, “la la la la” (well, you know how they are). Name another governor in this country that has ever done anything similar.

2- Now with the CBC gone, there were fewer Alaskan politicians to protect the huge, giant oil companies here. So she constructed and enacted a new system of splitting the oil profits called “ACES.” Exxon (the biggest corporation in the world) protested and Sarah told them, “don’t let the door hit you in the stern on your way out.” They stayed, and Alaska residents went from being merely wealthy to being wealthier. Of course, the other huge international oil companies meekly fell in line. Again, give me the name of any other governor in the country that has done anything similar. Each person that lives in Alaska gets between $1200-$2000 per year for living there. What do VA. Governors give you? Answer, a closed rest stop. Now try to name anything Obama accomplished while a senator?

3- The other thing she did when she walked into the governor’s office is she got the list of State requests for federal funding for projects, known as “pork.” She went through the list, took 85% of them and placed them in the “when-hell-freezes-over” stack. She let locals know that if we need something built, we’ll pay for it ourselves. Maybe she figured she could use the money she got from selling the previous governor’s jet because it was extravagant. Maybe she could use the money she saved by dismissing the governor’s cook (remarking that she could cook for her own family), giving back the State vehicle issued to her, maintaining that she already had a car, and dismissing her State provided security force (never mentioning – I imagine – that she’s packing heat herself). I’m still waiting to hear the names of those other governors.

4- Now, even with her much-ridiculed “gosh and golly” mannerism, she also managed to put together a totally new approach to getting a natural gas pipeline built which will be the biggest private construction project in the history of North America. No one else could do it although they tried. If that doesn’t impress you, then you’re trying too hard to be unimpressed while watching her do things like this while baking up a batch of brownies with her other hand.

5- For 30 years, Exxon held a lease to do exploratory drilling at a place called Point Thompson. They made excuses the entire time why they couldn’t start drilling. In truth they were holding it like an investment. No governor for 30 years could make them get started.. This summer, she told them she was revoking their lease and kicking them out. They protested and threatened court action.. She shrugged and reminded them that she knew the way to the court house. Alaska won again.

6- President Obama wants the nation to be on 25% renewable resources for electricity by 2025. Sarah went to the legislature and submitted her plan for Alaska to be at 50% renewables by 2025. We are already at 25%. I can give you more specifics about things done, as opposed to style and persona.. Everybody wants to be cool, sound cool, look cool. But that’s just a cover-up. I’m still waiting to hear from liberals the names of other governors who can match what mine has done in two and a half years. I won’t be holding my breath.

By the way, she was content to return to AK after the national election and go to work, but the haters wouldn’t let her. Now these adolescent screechers are obviously not scuba divers. And no one ever told them what happens when you continually jab and pester a ‘barracuda’. Without warning, it will spin around and tear your face off. Shoulda known better.

You have just read the truth about Sarah Palin that sends the media, along with the Democrat party, into a wild uncontrolled frenzy to discredit her. I guess they are only interested in skirt chasers, dishonesty, immoral people, liars, womanizers, murderers, and bitter ex-presidents’ wives or current President and his wife and staff.

So “You go, Girl.” I only wish the men in Washington had your guts, determination, honesty, and morals.
I rest my case. Only FOOLS listen to the biased media.

  41. Carol Says:

George Soros and the Sept 2008 economic crisis. Hi, can you send me the page that links Soros to the 9/18/2008 stock market and cash crash? I read a lot of September 2008 blogs, but am tired, got up at 7 am, home at 10:30 pm. I know Soros had something to do with it from IBD editorials.

    Thank you.

  42. Helen Says:

I’ve just discovered this site while browsing NQ. In your post about Hillary vs. Sarah. My dream team for 2012 is Hillary AND Sarah on the same ticket! Talk about unifying the country! It will be such a disastrous mess by then people will be open. Their respective medias will cancel each other out, and Hillary doesn’t owe anybody in the Dem party after what they did to her. Maybe Gloria Quisling Steinem will have learned her lesson by then. I think Hill and Sarah could find a common ground to clean up the mess.

  43. Angela Says:

I was looking for a *contact us* link but I guess this is the best I am going to get?
I had an idea that I wanted your opinion about.
What if we went on all the sites, blogs, etc and tried to get everyone to register as Independants (at least until time to vote in the primaries)?
The left is unhappy because O isn’t left enough, centrist think he is too left and the right are pretty sure he left his brains in his other pants.
The problem is that neither the Dems NOR the Repubs are listening to their base but if we can get the base to abandon the parties en masse, maybe Washington will start to get the picture?
    Is this worth persuing?

  44. Steve P. Says:

I recently discovered your site and enjoy it. As a gay man who is a libertarian/fiscal conservative, I love it when I find political commentary from other gays that is not just the brain dead regurgitation of the tropes and superficial talking points approved by the Groupthink-Tank of political correctness i.e. liberalism. “Politically correct” is an oxymoron, it is thinking that represents a force fed shorthand substitute for deeper, more critical thinking – something minorities are taken in by – gays, blacks and jews. What I do not understand and am disturbed about is how you seem to recognize the political ideology of various individuals – you see behind the curtain, but can have equal support for pols with 180 degree divergent ideologies. Your comparison to being able to enjoy both Coke and Pepsi reveals the problem – they are almost identical. Hillary and Sarah Palin are ideological opposites. To share their views and support both their views seems to suggest it is the person and/or gender, not the ideology, that is supported. That’s kewl, but is confusing given your appropriate disdain for collectivism and socialism and preference for individualism and capitalism. This is not meant as an unkindness but Hillary is of the former, Sarah of the latter. Personally, I therefore see Hillary as a perhaps only slightly milder version of B.O. And I cannot support Sarah since she resigned as governor, undermining her opportunity to develop her bona fides for higher office.

Mao Ornament on White House Christmas Tree

Who oversees the decorating of the White House for Christmas? Who was responsible for the tree in the Blue Room?

That’s the one that Michelle Obama said was her favorite. She told that to Oprah Winfrey when she was showing off the decorations for Winfrey’s White House Christmas special.

The individual in charge allowed an ornament with Mao on it to be on the Blue Room Christmas tree. Surely someone is assigned the job of checking the ornaments for inappropriate content.

Either the person is a Mao fan or isn’t familiar with the tyrant. In any case, the ornament doesn’t belong among the White House Christmas decorations.

Big Government reveals a bit about the man behind the White House holiday decorating decisions.

    It all makes sense.

Why let a holiday season come between the White House and making some political statements? The White House pegged controversial designer Simon Doonan to oversee the Christmas decorations for the White House. Mr. Doonan, who is creative director of Barney’s New York has often caused a stir with his design choices. Like his naughty yuletide window display of Margaret Thatcher as a dowdy dominatrix and Dan Quayle as a ventriloquist’s dummy. For this year’s White House, he didn’t disappoint.

Big Government has photos, taken just days ago, of some questionable ornaments that adorn the branches of Michelle Obama’s favorite tree.

Of course, Mao has his place in the White House.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without an ornament of legendary transvestite Hedda Lettuce.

And, so soon after collecting the Nobel Peace Prize, why wouldn’t the White House have an ornament super-imposing President Obama onto Mt. Rushmore?

    This makes me sick.

Even one of the Obama regime’s Christmas trees has to include Leftist radical stuff?

I’m not comfortable with these Mao worshippers in power.

    Obama on Mt. Rushmore?

It’s nauseating, stunningly arrogant and egomaniacal.

I’d like to see those ornaments removed.

This administration doesn’t bother to pretend that it’s remotely centrist anymore.

    Mao? MAO?

    Unbelievable.

The issue here isn’t the war on Christmas. It’s the war on our country’s fundamental principles and values.

    Video.

It all has to do with stealing the authority to manipulate your social security and the path to do that is written into the health care bill. If the bill fails, nevermind, there are two pieces of legislation waiting in the wings to transfer Medicare out of Social Security and into the hands of the Executive Branch.

The deliberate setup for the White House power grab is built into the each of the health care bills and, if they fail, little-known twin bills called “MedPAC Reform of 2009″ are waiting in the wings. The bills, S.B. 1110 and H.R. 2718, craftily amend the Social Security Act and transfer the Medicare guideline and rule setting processes, from the legislative branch to the executive branch. These bills offer cover to one another in case one doesn’t pass the House or Senate, respectively. Remember, Democrats need to gain executive branch authority by amending the Social Security Act over Medicare regulations and physician fee schedules to transform the health care system in a single-payer, socialized system.
More importantly, Medicare’s regulations and physician fee schedules are the keystone to developing payer systems and reimbursement models across the entire health care industry. And where Medicare goes, insurers follow.

White House Secret to Get Single Payer – Congress Abdicates Power to Executive Branch
On the heels of two articles by Jim Simpson at The Examiner detailing Universal Voter Fraud Registration to steal your vote, BigGovernment’s SusanAnne Hiller explains how a single-payer health care plan will come to be. Congress will abdicate some of their power to the Executive Branch, and it can be done even if health care legislation fails.

It all has to do with stealing the authority to manipulate your social security and the path to do that is written into the health care bill. If the bill fails, nevermind, there are two pieces of legislation waiting in the wings to transfer Medicare out of Social Security and into the hands of the Executive Branch.

The deliberate setup for the White House power grab is built into the each of the health care bills and, if they fail, little-known twin bills called “MedPAC Reform of 2009” are waiting in the wings.

    Not wary yet?

Specifically, the language in the Reid bill intentionally places unlimited power directly in the hands of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, including the ability to designate covered services, or rationing. The Pelosi bill creates a Health Choices Commission and its “commissioner” is empowered to make the same decisions. More alarming, both will have to take direction from the White House–and its unconfirmed czars–due to their executive branch affiliation.

After a thorough overview of exactly what is going on, Hiller says:

In any of these legislative scenarios–Pelosi, Reid or MedPAC bills–the White House gets the power it seeks–and needs–in order to accomplish the task at hand–a single payer, government-run health system.

Read the story at BigGovernment. Get on the phone and ask your Congressmen if they know about the provisions in the health care bill, and if they know about S.B. 1110 and H.R. 2718. Quite frankly, they probably do not. Read about Universal Voter Registration: What the Dems know that we don’t, here, here and here.

A White House Power Grab that Congress and America Doesn’t Seeby SusanAnne Hiller
To achieve the goal of a universal, single-payer health system, the White House must secure the power it needs by amending the Social Security Act to transfer pivotal controls from Congress to the executive branch. This transfer of power would ultimately give the President and the majority party, in this case the radical left Obama White House and Pelosi-Reid led progressive Democrats, the authority to frame and manipulate new policy, coverage options, and reimbursements, ultimately reshaping the future US health care system into a something unrecognizable in this country.

The deliberate setup for the White House power grab is built into the each of the health care bills and, if they fail, little-known twin bills called “MedPAC Reform of 2009” are waiting in the wings.

To underscore the far-reaching power, a bulk of the states already reference or utilize the Medicare guidelines and fee schedules in determining policy, coverage, and payment, which impacts certain state-specific plans, including, but not limited to, self-funded plans, automobile insurance payers, and state workers’ compensation funds and plans – affecting even Big Labor. For the executive branch to have such authority over Medicare regulations with little oversight is alarming. This raises further issues of the powerful impact these federal mandates could potentially have on the states in stripping them of their own management of their respective insurance industries.

In retrospect, Obama’s pick of Sebelius as HHS Secretary is obvious. Aside from being a governor, Sebelius is the former Kansas insurance commissioner and has the ability to identify the strongest and weakest links–navigating her way quite expeditiously throughout the health care system. And she’ll never disavow one of her first career choices — executive director and chief lobbyist for the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association. That explains the blatant omission of tort reform, in addition to the fact that the trial lawyers are the biggest Democrat donors.

Another disturbing Obama appointee is health care czar Nancy Ann DeParle, who remains unconfirmed, and was the administrator of the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA), now known as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. In short, she “owns” Medicare. And if you put Sebelius and DeParle together in a room for a few hours, you’ll get a formula for a single-payer government-run health care system – with Obama’s wish list met.

These designed appointees make sense of the intentions at hand to frame a universal or single-payer health care system. Everything in this administration makes sense when you look at the overall agenda. Even the branding makes sense. The urgency, caring for the uninsured, taking advantage of the uninsurable, proclaiming it’s paid for, packaging it as deficit-neutral, and amplifying that people are ‘dying’ in the streets.

The aforementioned MedPAC Reform of 2009 bills give the executive branch power it so dearly covets to devise the single-payer system. Currently, MedPAC–the Medicare Payment and Advisory Committee (MedPAC)–is a Clinton-era independent Congressional agency established by the Balanced Budget Act of 1997 that advises the Congress on issues affecting the Medicare program, including payments to private health plans participating in Medicare and providers in Medicare’s traditional fee-for-service program. MedPAC also analyzes access to, quality of, and cost of health care.

The MedPAC bill designer, progressive Senator John Rockefeller (D-WV), has strategically branded the need for the bill by calling Congress “inefficient” and “inconsistent” –and who wouldn’t agree with that?

Therefore, the MedPAC Reform bill creates a new MedPAC–the Medicare Payment and Access Commission–and gives the Obama White House and its advisors over-reaching control of several factors governing the economy of the health care system. The new MedPAC, which is exempted from judicial review, would have the authority to rewrite physician fee schedules, redefine medical necessity, evaluate coverage of treatment options, rewrite beneficiary definitions and coverage, and redesign diagnostic definitions and coverage.

The new MedPAC’s mission would also be to inform new research in health services to adequately address deficiencies in the evidence. However, in reality, this would apparently cripple new treatments and technologies by overshadowing progressive research and treatment algorithms by apparently emphasizing the deficiencies, not the benefits, equaling a denial of care and arresting development of burgeoning technologies.

Rockefeller also confirms that the new MedPAC will evaluate and test new and innovative payment models for provider reimbursement. The MedPAC reform is being packaged under the guise of efficiency; however, by maximizing the volume of care delivered at the lowest possible cost, it appears that the payment and utilization schedule is a mechanism to control the pressure that would build when the health care system is overloaded with millions of new patients.

Finally, Rockefeller highlights another intention of MedPAC, which is to expand the capacity to evaluate basic and health services research for reimbursement. This is the pinnacle power grab because this gives the new MedPAC and the executive branch the power to ration or deny care and decide what treatment options are available or acceptable as a whole.

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, commented, “As a congressional support agency, MedPAC’s mission is to advise Congress on Medicare payment issues. If MedPAC were to become part of the executive branch as contemplated in the Rockefeller bill, then Congress would no longer have this support agency to provide technical support when making policy decisions.” Senator Grassley also confirmed that he is not willing to abdicate congressional responsibilities for Medicare payment policymaking to a body that does not hold certificates of election. He is correct that Congress wouldn’t have the support agency’s advice, but misses that it wouldn’t be Congress’s responsibility anymore—the policy decisions would be the responsibility of the new MedPAC—under the direction of the Obama White House.

What’s inherently disturbing is the fact that Rockefeller has been very outspoken in support of the public option and knows that this transfer of power must take place via the Social Security Act—in any form. He even confirms that health care reform will not be successful, unless all authority is shifted to the executive branch. He also rightly chooses his words–the “healthcare delivery system,” which is code for the public option.

Additionally, Rockefeller confirms the overall task at hand by stating, “Establishing MedPAC as an independent executive branch agency – which can only change through an act of Congress – is the cornerstone of improving our delivery system reform. Health care reform will only be successful if we craft transformative changes.” Transformative, as in a government-run health care system.

If there are any questions if the White House would flex its executive branch authority over an agency, just look the way of the EPA. Congress stalled on cap and trade and Climategate has proven to be a problem, so the White House and EPA took matters into their own hands to keep moving on the agenda—to intentionally put regulations in place that further strangle American businesses, create unemployment, and further destabilize the economy.

Furthermore, with most of the Obama administration graduates of the Saul Alinsky school of thought, of course the main goal of all legislation and policies would be to support the overall intention of Alinsky, which is for the “have-nots on how to take it away.”

In any of these legislative scenarios–Pelosi, Reid or MedPAC bills–the White House gets the power it seeks–and needs–in order to accomplish the task at hand–a single payer, government-run health system.

These bills must be defeated; the power grab thwarted because after the Social Security Act is amended in any form these bills present and the rule changes take effect, it is not likely for the Act to be reopened and amended again. The problem is Congress doesn’t even comprehend what’s at stake in either of the health care bills or MedPAC Reform–and you can’t stop something you don’t see.

    Rasmussen says:

“Note to Republicans: If every time you put on the shoulder pads and helmet you end up having your head handed to you, it’s time to start thinking about playing basketball instead.
How to do that? Simple–move to a nonpartisan redistricting effort along the lines of the Iowa model.”

“You don’t have the balls, champ.”

    Uhhmm, maybe.

At this point the Dhim’s are so “all-in” it is beyond anything I recall seeing in American politics, ever.
Really it may come down to be too scared to walk away. Think about it a minute.

1 year in and is there a costituency left out there that they have not insulted, denigrated, demonized or disappointed, backstabbed or thrown to the wolves? Depending on which ideological side your on.

They have no friends at all now, which puts their backs against the wall. When you’re isolated, you get paranoid(in this case rightfully so)ande you get desperate. Desperation often results in irrational behavior.

Carville said that this was to be a 40yr Dhim reign, if not more. He meant it, and thats because he knows exactly who Hilly lost to. They’re radical absolutist authoritarians that grew out of the 60’s leftist communists that ran under the banner of the Students for a Democratic Society/Wheather Underground. And they openly stated they were ready to use Stalinist measures to accomplish their goals.(see FBI Agt. Grathwohl’s interview)

While press down played Bill Ayers & Bernadine Dorhn, they absolutely ignored the rest of these looney tunes that made up the base of Obama’s campaign and may of which are in the papers and boob tube now walking in & out of the White House.

Don’t beleive me? Google the names or better yet use David Horowitz’s site with the Bio’s and history of the far left in America. Andy Stern, Paul Booth, Marilyn Katz, Todd Gitlin, Mark Rudd, Carl Davidson, Tom Hayden, Steve Tappis, Howie Machtlinger, Jeff Jones, Jim Jacobs, Wade rathke, Dale Rathke, David Fenton… and thats just off the top of my head! Its a veritable who’s, who of Obama’s career, campaign and advisors now.

All of the above(and more)are full fledged former members of the SDS/Weathermen. I once got in arguement with Carl Davidson who said some of were not part of the violence of the Weathermen, but absolving the SDS’ers from the WM is like saying Sinn Fein was seperate from the IRA. One is a “political” arm, the other the “action” arm. Their stated agenda was identical, the overthrow of the republic, the forcible introduction of communism and gulags for those that resisted.

Puts Obama’s call(Colorado Springs Speech during primaries) for National Civillian Security Force in a whole new light doesn’t it?

Then there is the the remarkable confluence of Obama, Axelrod and Jarrett. The disciples of 3 communist big-wigs outta Chicago that were hatching long term plans as taught by their mentor, Saul Alinsky. Frank Marshall Davis begat Barack Obama, Don Rose begat David Axelrod, Vernon Jarrett(Father inlaw)begat Valerie Jarrett.

These people are (and have been) after absolute power with the intent to weild it ruthlessly without concern of possibly having to kill 25 million Americans( again see Grathwohl’s Interview) to accomplish their goals.

Don’t underestimate these people, they have the balls!

    Hi Guys,

Thank you and bless you for listening to your hearts and saying “yes” to the work that has been put before you.

You are unique, special, called and brave.

It means so much to me to be able to come to your site and see that I agree with you, even though we are so different. You are teaching me to open my heart again and trust that we are all lovable. You are reassuring me that my instinct to judge everyone’s political agenda by their sexual preference, skin color or toenail size is wrong. We are people first – we are friends first – we are each others supporter first and from there, in truth, we can learn to love beyond what the world tries to impose on us.

You are doing so much more than writing this blog – you are ambassadors for every human who endeavors to find real peace through true and understanding.

I pray your lamps be filled to overflowing with oil, and that when you think you are empty, you will be filled and filled again.

You will never know what great barrier in my heart you have broken through, and for that I am grateful –

Because you said yes, because you sacrifice for us, because we are better people for it,my heart smiles for you and I wish you peace, contentment, rest and success,

    Karen

As a right wing conservative and Tea Party Patriot, I just made a donation to your site.

You offer the perfect venue to bring us together and quit this ridiculous back biting! I LOVE my gay friends and family members as do all of my other right wing friends….where did this nonsense begin? Can you say main street media? You know, pick the most radical protesters of any cause amd make them the face of the party (especially when they’re on the right).

All I see when I read your blog is America loving, freedom cherishing, patriotic souls, like myself, and believe me, we’re under attack and need to bond together now, closer than ever.

When my lesbian friend ran for a high profile office in my city, as a Republican, she told me she had no problem getting endorsements from Republicans, not so with the gay community. They’ve been poisened and it’s sickening. My gay friends tell me they can’t believe I’m a Republican…well why the hell not! They’ve been so brainwashed by lefties they can’t accept that the truth might be a little different than they expect.

Anyway, I LOVE your site and have sent many your way to read your truth. Keep up the good fight…we shall overcome!

    Keep up the great work!

To run against Levin in Michigan – Dennis Cowan, former mayor of Royal Oak, partner in a very respectable law firm – the largest in Michigan – headquartered in Bloomfield Hills and with offices all over the state plus one in Ohio (mainly to torture themselves with I think – you walk into the Columbus, Ohio office and are greeted with posters of the Ohio State Buckeyes) and a good Republican and one hell of a nice guy! Just a thought.

  101. Scott Eudaley Says:

My wife just hit your tip jar for $25. We heard about the vicious attacks on you from the hard Left and wanted to do something to help.

As libertarian/conservatives living in the Bay Area, we are intimately familiar with the vicious hatred the Left directs at anyone who strays from their orthodoxy.

Your tribute to George Bush brought tears to our eyes. Thank you!

You’re fighting the good fight. Hang in there guys!

  102. Hey, Guys:
You are seriously made of awesome. I’d love to talk to you about the possibility of you doing a book (I’m an agent.) Visit my site, then please email me. I didn’t see a way to email you privately, so please delete this post after reading. (Which sounds spy-like, but you know what I mean.)

  103. Gina Graham Says:

Hi HillBuzz guys. I came across your website last year with the letter you wrote to George Bush. I am a boystown resident and lifelong Republican but last year I was also sorely tempted to vote for Hillary and if she had been the nominee I likely would have. I got my husband (not generally political at all) a “Welcome Back Carter” Obama T-shirt for our anniversary in August, which he loved. He feels like it has really come into fashion and he gets fewer hairy eyeballs when he wears it around the neighborhood.

I just wanted to hit your tip jar and drop you a line to say thanks for speaking up, your voices are appreciated.

I just found your website a few days ago. It is a breathe of fresh air. Thank you all for the price you pay for saying the things you do (the truth). I agree 100%. I am a black man, who is a registered Independent. I left the Democratic party after Bill Clinton was elected. The nastiness that I see against anyone who disagrees with Dr. Utopia and his policies, is unbelievable. I remember the daily abuse that was heaped upon George W. But that was okay, because he is a “right wing” Republican. I am doing all I can in my corner of the world to inform people about the dangers of this administration. I get looks like you wouldn’t believe, but I know you understand.

Hopefully, when I employed again, I would like to financially support your efforts. And as the late attorney Flo Kennedy used to say: “Don’t let the bastards grind you down.”

I apologize for coming late to the party but could somebody be kind enough to bring me up to speed on the issues relating to “identities of the Leftist thugs who have been defaming, threatening, harassing, and libeling us”. I only just found your site from an Instapundit link so obviously I am not yet familiar with the general gist of your site. From my quick read you appear to be a somewhat libertarian group of guys doing political blogging and though there are certain positions I would respectfully disagree, I really like what your doing. I will try to hit the tip bar as soon as I get paid first of the month.

I was not trying to pigeon hole your site with the libertarian monicker I just could not come up with a better description until I do some more through reading. If anyone of the more experienced (or the Hill buzz authors) readers of the site would be kind enough to educate me and summarize some of the background about the issues I would be eternally grateful.

Attn: Hill Buzz guys I am sorry you find yourselves being harassed by these trolls from DNC hell. I wanted to add my voice to those who have been lending their moral support. I keep wishing some of these guys would come to my town and try that crap (couldn’t think of a better word). Where I live (unlike Illinois) many of us have guns (and we know how to use them) and the conceal carry permits to go with them. Not that I would ever condone violence (well, just a round or two, please!) its just that often guys like the people harassing Hill Buzz hide behind anonymous pseudonyms and websites afraid to show themselves. Cowards does not begin to describe them. Hang in there guys !!

Nude Pose May Yet Block Brown from Taking Senate Seat

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev) is reportedly “very uncomfortable” with the idea of newly elected Senator Scott Brown (R-Mass) “sitting amongst us in the Senate.” The reason: in 1982, Brown posed nude for Cosmo magazine.

“The people expect that Senators will exhibit only the highest levels of decorum and integrity,” Reid said. “I’m not sure that Scott Brown lives up to this expectation.”

Reid pointed out that “each chamber of Congress is responsible for deciding whether a person shall be accepted into the body. So, we could vote not to seat Brown if we feel that doing so would diminish the respect voters have for all of us.”

The Majority leader brushed aside criticisms that Congress has accepted tax cheats among its ranks and as appointees to the Executive Branch. “Everybody cheats on their taxes,” Reid argued. “Why should we single out those who get caught and exclude them from government?”

Reid also rejected the late Senator Ted Kennedy’s questionable behavior in the death of Mary Jo Kopechne being used as a standard of reference for how low the body might stoop regarding the quality of its membership, calling such comparisons “unfair and unkind considering the illustrious legislative record Senator Kennedy compiled in the years following that unfortunate tragedy.”

In related news, MSNBC pundit Keith Olbermann urged that the special election vote for Brown be overturned due to its implicitly racist overtones. “Here we have America’s first African-American President politely asking Massachusetts voters to send Martha Coakley to the Senate to help him pass healthcare,” Olbermann said. “But exit polls showed that the majority of Massachusetts’ white voters dissed the President’s request. We can’t let white voters in one state impede the policies of a black man elected by a majority of the voters in America.”

    Hi,
I am a libertarian (with one exception: I am for a strong, pro-active and nation-building army), and a conservative, and like many others here find your site incredibly insightful and refreshing.

While Hiliary wasn’t my favorite person going into the election, I was appalled at how she was treated during it, and then was shocked to the core at how they slandered (and continue to) Sarah Palin. Obviously, strong women scare the pants of off socialist (what some still call liberal) men and women in the MSN and in politics. We, the “little” people actually admire them. Hilary may not be perfect, but I was actually rooting for her there at the end of the election cycle, and would have been absolutely ok with her as president, and now that we’ve had over a year of the most horrible, horrifying, anti-American, anti-capitalism, anti-constutition president in history… I am so sorry that neither her nor Palin is in office right now. God bless you guys and your site. I have been unemployed for almost a year now (that is completely on Obama – and just as thigs were picking up after Christmas he goes and attacks the banking industry?!?!?!? – don’t GET ME STARTED!), but rest assured, as soon as I am employed again, I will be contributing to this website. Thank you so much and keep up the exceptional work. I appreciate you guys so much!

Stay strong boys, you are on the side of truth, justice and what’s good and right about this country.

I’ll close by saying that although I was NOT a fan of Pres. Clinton, I have caught myself more than once over the past 12 months saying if only Hillary had won… Now if that doesn’t speak to how bad this President is…

    1. hillbuzz Says:

      Motley,

We’ve tried locking the Open Thread at the top each day.

Here is what happens: people see OPEN THREAD, and don’t realize it’s the new day’s. They don’t bother to scroll down and see new articles beneath it. They just think we didn’t update. Then, comments fill up with people saying, ‘Why are there no new posts?”. They just don’t scroll down.

Just as you aren’t bothering to scroll down to see the Open Thread that is clearly there for today, right under the post about “What is she up to?”. You’ll know it’s the open thread because it says OPEN THREAD right at the top.

On the right side of your screen, there is a scroll bar. We’ve found it to be really useful in general.

  125. Kevin, I just heard about your saga on the B-Cast this evening, and I felt compelled to write. I am an American (native Californian) now living permanently in Recife, Brazil. Formerly a Republican, I joined Democrats Abroad here in Brazil last year to elect Obama and defeat Hillary. However, as the campaign progressed, I saw what Obama was all about and switched back to Republican and voted for McCain. Now a year later, I really do wish we had Hillary at the helm, although I proudly wear my Palin 2012 T-shirts, along with my anti-Obama T-shirts. My appetite for everything about the Mass. election was insatiable, and I stayed up much of the night following the results. I am ecstatic about Scott Brown’s win, and I want to thank you and yours for your efforts in getting him elected. I watch with trepidation from here in the Northeast of Brasil at what has happened to my country. I have a number of concerned friends in the US who envy that I have gotten away from the insanity that is going on there and now live in–who’d have thunk it–a safe and secure country like Brasil! I will continue to follow your struggle on your site and on Breaitbart TV.

  126. You said my email address would not be displayed, but I logged out and back in, and there it is, big as life! What’s up with that? Very upset guy here now!

  127. sbohn Says:

I just listened to your BCast interview. It is an amazing view of the internal nature of the democratic party.

I am a white, straight, politically libertarian, personally conservative, republican who believes the constitution should be adhered to verbatim. As a poster above mentioned, we probably wouldnt cross paths through our normal circles.

Hillary was never an option for me, but I wanted to vote for Obama because I thought his success would be an inspiration for many. I never voted democratic, but decided to investigate what it means to be a democrat and learn about Obama. I was inclined to vote for him.

Long story short, I came to the conclusion that democrats are like a venn diagram with many small circles. Teh Democratic Party seem to be the UN for many small disparate groups that gain power in numbers. If there is a single philosophy, it is that of big government progressive. That’s not me. I couldn’t come to grips with the morass of interests in the democratic party.

On Obama: I’ve been taught to look at a person’s friends and you will learn everything you need to know about that person. Obama’s circle includes Weather Underground, Rezko, JWright, Chicago pols etc.,etc. Given this group of friends I couldn’t vote for Obama and voted for McCain. You along with a year of experience confirmed my conclusions on Obama.

I find it interesting when dems can look at republican candidates. As mentioned, I was willing to look at the dems. If people can look beyond the labels and more at the nature of the individuals running for office, we will be in a better place.

Good luck with your site and I hope you can survive the progressive mob.

  129. Diane Ghezzi Says:

I know you guys have support Roland Burris in the past…but what’s up with this?
    (Found in the Weekly Standard)

Only one senator offered a clear and unequivocal “yes,” in support of the Obama administration’s handling of Abdulmutallab: Senator Roland Burris (D-IL).

    1. hillbuzz Says:

Senator Burris is a good man. That opinion of ours won’t change. But we do not support any of the 60 Democrats after what they did the week before Christmas with the Rationing bill. So, no matter what any of these people do today, tomorrow, or whatever, we no longer support them. It’s a waste of your time, Diane, to ask us about any of them because if Burris wasn’t retiring, we’d be working against him. Our focus is on how to beat the incumbent Liberals. People who are retiring are off the radar and won’t be discussed by us anymore. There’s just too much to do in a day.

      1. Diane Ghezzi Says:

I hear ya….let’s hope he doesn’t do any serious damage between now and then. Keep up the good work. Read you guys 2 – 3 times a day!

  130. CthragSardius Says:

Listened to the whole BCast interview last night, I was appalled.

Hillary over Palin on an independent ticket in 2012, think it over. It’s brilliant, it would be a political juggernaut, they would dominate to the nth degree, all opposition would fall before them.

    Hi Hillbuzz,
I really appreciate and love your blog. Luckily I discovered you from Rush and some other conservative websites, I think Lucianne.com featured your George W Bush letter too.
Anyway, since you are investing so much of your personal time to informing a lot of us political novices as to the ways of effective activism, why not kick it up a notch? Have you ever heard of the group American Majority? They give seminars on political activism, effective ways to get involved. Why don’t you guys do that too? You could benefit people at the grassroots level with your knowledge and also make some good money doing it. This of course would supplement your other careers. American Majority conducts 1 day seminars, candidate training seminars, and political fellowships. Anyway, just a thought. You guys have really enriched my life, I consider you friends although I don’t even know you.

BOYS – I think I may have found the next candidate you can get behind! Check out Ilaria Pantano’s story!! (This is from Blackfive.com) I follwed this young man’s trial and he is very much the kind of candidate who could use your awesome support!!! “Marine Veteran Joins other Conservatives Looking to Challenge Long Time Democratic Strongholds and Ivory Tower Politics
Ilario Pantano: Candidate for Congress (NC-7)
WILMINGTON, North Carolina, Jan 28—War veteran, author and businessman Ilario Pantano today formally announced his candidacy for North Carolina’s 7th Congressional District. An independently minded Republican, Mr. Pantano is looking to challenge Rep. Mike McIntyre, a fourteen year incumbent in district held by Democrats for the last 100 years.

Pantano, 38, launched his congressional campaign with the ‘100 Days of Work’ initiative highlighting South Eastern North Carolina’s number one issue: Jobs and the economy. In daily candid discussions with employers and employees, Pantano turns to the free market of ideas to refine the solutions needed to revive the lagging economy. “As someone who has agonized over payroll and scrambled to get customers, I can relate to the struggles and the triumphs in today’s job market and the paralyzing effects of excessive taxation, regulation and litigation.” Pantano, whose young children attend public school, also makes the case for top-tier educational programs that can simultaneously attract and educate a work force of innovators.

Pantano’s ‘100 Days of Work’ connects him to the people of the 7th district whose representation has been monopolized by a single party for over 100 years. “From my experience in small and large companies, I recognize that the best ideas often come from the bottom up and not the top down, particularly when the top has lost touch with the people.”
The call to serve his country is not a new one. Pantano has sworn the oath to defend the Constitution of the United States three times in his life: First as a 17-year old Marine. Then, over a decade later, after witnessing the attacks on 9/11, Pantano returned to the service and led a platoon of infantry Marines in Falluja through some of the fiercest fighting of the war. During combat operations, Pantano killed two terrorists and was later accused of murder. A military hearing dismissed all charges against him, but after receiving Jihadist death threats to his family, Pantano chose to resign from the Marine Corps. In 2006 he swore an oath to protect his local community in New Hanover County as a Deputy Sheriff. “My wife and I chose to live in North Carolina, not because we were born here, but because we respected the Southern traditions of Faith in God, Service, Loyalty and Devotion. Those are the values I strive to live by and those are the values I teach my sons.”

In 1998, a decade before Wall Street’s underbelly was publicly exposed, Pantano made a decision to reject the greed mentality that he found morally repugnant, despite the salary. “As a capitalist, I appreciate the importance of profit, but as someone one who had always put service before self, I could not abide by the damage that was being done to human lives by reckless speculators like Enron.” Five years ago, Pantano presciently wrote of his decision to leave Wall Street in his memoir Warlord. In one story, a Goldman trader, who would later go on to management at AIG, smugly goaded Pantano, “Do you know how much money I made in oil while you were in the Gulf War?” Today, Pantano laments on the AIG bailout, “now all of our children will pay to protect that trader’s private airplane, and that is not okay.”

His campaign can be followed at http://www.pantanoforcongress.com. For press inquiries or to schedule an interview, please call Hillary Meinheit at (910) 476-9783 or email PantanoPR@gmail.com

Hello! I just got through listening to your interview over on Breitbert. I really wish I was in a position to send you a donation – especially in light of the problems you are experiencing at this moment.
[I know many make excuses like this, but we are literally struggling to keep food on our table, and a roof over our heads at the moment. Let me tell you, finding change in couch cushions is a happy moment for us at the current time! LOL Hubby was laid off for 8 months last year and our savings are totally depleted. We are still trying to recover from that.]

Anyway, in light of the above personal situation for my family, I will do what I can – and that is pray.

    I will pray;
    - for your protection against those who are seeking to persecute you,
    - for strength and courage to stand firm in your principles and beliefs.
    - for easing of the financial suffering, and problems regarding your seeking employment
[I have firm faith that God provides to those who seek to live for the good of others - and you all are no exception. However, as I said, I will still pray that your financial struggles will be resolved as quickly as possible, as well!]

Keep your chins up, and please know that there are a ton of us out there who support you – even if we are not regular posters here, and merely lurkers on most occasions (like myself). For every person that takes the time to write, I’m sure there are literally HUNDREDS of others who agree, but don’t bother to tell you!

You may not be able to see this right now as I know this is so personal for you, but please know that what you are going through will NOT be in vain. I know that already there are others who are learning a lot from witnessing how you are being treated, and the hypocrisy being exposed has been a long time coming. I’m just sorry for you all personally that you find yourselves in the middle of this brutal treatment.

OK, I’m going to start repeating myself if I keep writing. I just feel so strongly about this, and wanted to drop you a line and let you know that others are paying attention to your plight. This cannot go unanswered, and I take heart that you are starting to be able to unravel the web these thugs have crafted in their attempts to neutralize your writing and activities. I pray that you are able to find and hold accountable those who are libeling you.

God bless the boys at HillBuzz, and may you all be blessed abundantly for fighting the “good” fight!

    Dear Hillbuzz:
I especially enjoy the humor that you have at this site. The comments are insightful and very witty. Althougth I have only been visiting for a couple of months, I have told many people about this place and check back frequently to see what you are talking about. I do have one suggestion. Perhaps it is just the way I am looking at things lately, but I do not see many topics of substance regarding solutions to our nations crisis. There are very brilliant explanations about the personalities, and behaviors of the political parties and their elected representatives. Combined with the exceptional job you do of identifying specific tendencies and traits that some of the politicans have. You make great points about why some need to be removed, and also about why another would be a better representative of the people. Most of the time I completely agree with your interpretation of them. But, I find myself wondering what is the expectation of the ones you do support. Exactly and specifically what do you expect them to improve upon and impliment to make America a better place. What actions do you recommend that our national leadership should take to fix the problems that plaque our nation? Would you be willing to provide some feedback or suggestions toward solving some issues? National debt and fiscal issues are the most pertinent at the moment. Do you have ideas that would balance budgets, cut spending, and improve our overall fiscal crisis.? Again, thank you for the great work you do. Any thoughts on the Census Berueau spending $2.5 million for an ad during the Super Bowl?

The movie “Dave” with Kevin Kline came to mind. I found the video and posted it on my site. That is my thought from the right side of the isle. Any thoughts on this for your side?

‘Bob, You’d Better Just Pull Back’ — Does Beckel Have a Problem with Women?
Posted by Hannah Giles Feb 5th 2010 at 12:08 pm in Featured Story, Uncategorized | Comments (131)
I didn’t know whether to feel insulted or oddly flattered when Bob Beckel called me a “ho” Monday night on Sean Hannity’s show. He was discussing James O’Keefe’s current situation and for some reason brought me up. But not the real me: not the 20-year old committed Christian, brown-belt Jiu-Jitsu girl and aspiring journalist, who embarked on a secret summer adventure that caused a major political and media disruption in the fall of ‘09.
Nope, evidently the characters I played in the ACORN videos, Kenya and Eden, had Beckel a little confused. After he called me a ho, the panel informed him I wasn’t a real hooker, only pretending to be one for the sake of the story. He defends himself by saying I was a very “convincing hooker.”

All I can say is, Beckel would know.
This isn’t the first time he has been befuddled by a young woman’s actions. In the summer of 2002 Beckel came to know 20-year old “Tiffany,” a professional hooker who, after establishing a business relationship with him, attempted to extort $50,000 in exchange for her not exposing their relationship to his ex-wife and employers.
Don’t believe it, don’t remember it, want to get the facts? Check the police report for the gory details:

And this is where my dilemma begins. There are just so many ways to approach Beckel’s thoughts about me.
If I do want to become an actress one day, or work undercover for the FBI, do I ask Beckel to be a reference? He could tell them my acting skills are so advanced that even seasoned “lady of the night” experts were impressed. He is a semi-powerful man, whose opinion has been sought out by heavy-hitting Democrats, going back to Robert Kennedy. He is also very familiar with the complexities and pitfalls of the prostitution world. Potential valuable resource? Perhaps.

    re: Clinton

Yes she was treated badly by the Obama camp and should have won.

But I’ve never been a fan of Hillary.. she is really just a Clinton Partner, without whoem she would be a small-town lawyer somewhere.

Anyways, Best wishes on your efforts to save America !! Lets Polarize America !!
    : )

    1. hillbuzz Says:

Without Hillary, Bill would be a small town lawyer in Arkansas.

Hillary Clinton is destined to be president.

      1. Petras Vilson Says:

        Touche !

It may indeed be true that without Hillary’s support – indeed perhaps superhuman tolerance – Bill Clinton might never had made it to the White House.

I still think Hillary lacks the charisma and authenticity – that special genuine connectivity with people that Bill Clinton, Obama, Reagan and yes Sarah Palin possess.

Nevertheless, Hillary would have been President but for Obama’s brilliant many-small-wins strategy. Now with the Democratic brand becoming toxic… any future run by Hillary is severely handicapped methinks.

Hillarys one diminishing hope might be a 2012 primary challenge and win over The One… but such a win would cost the Democrats their most reliable voting base – the black vote – without which a Dem Presidential victory is impossible.
