FABULOUS: Ben Nelson, the whore of the Senate, trails badly in 2012 matchup
The people of Nebraska remain disgusted by Ben Nelson, the whore of the Senate, and what he did on Christmas Eve 2009 when he sold his vote for Obamacare to the White House for a massive infusion of pork…turning the people of Nebraska into welfare queens. Since then, whenever Nelson and his family have gone out to eat in restaurants, Nebraskans have shouted “whore”, “slut”, and other pejoratives at him…and his face has been plastered all over the state dolled up like the Joker.
May Nebraskan memories last into 2012 and beyond.
Every Democrat who voted for Obamacare needs to be defeated in 2012 if they are up for re-election. We need to go after them in 2014 and 2016 as well, until every last one of these people is removed from office.
Ben Nelson and Claire McCaskill are two of the big targets.

Believe me thee: This is one Nebraskan who will never, ever, ever forget Ben Nelson's perfidy. Nebraska did not ask for the "Cornhusker Kickback", and we were embarrassed to tears by it. The only thing Nebraska asked was that Ben vote against that piece of bloated criminal mischief. But Ben put party above constituency, and voted for it.
Currently, it looks as if Nebraska's Republican governor may run for the spot. We'll just have to see how the whole thing plays out over the next few months.
Samsgran1948,
Can you please share with us some more of what Nebraskans think of Ben Nelson?
Can you tell us what your friends and family think of him…what's said about him in public…what's said in papers?
Very curious to see how angry people are a year later.
Thanks!
I lived in Lincoln, Nebraska until May of this year. The right-to Life people supported him last election. I can guarantee you they will not endorse him again.
This is the second seat the GOP should pick up after North Dakota.
The GOP has 14 senate seat gain chances. It has 3 at risk. I think a net gain of 7 Senate seats is what to expect. But this all depends on how good the Presidential candidate is.
i am interested to see just how long Nebraskans memories are too, Kevin. I know we in NY are doomed to belib forever with the likes of Schumer and the rest but some of us are conspiring to make Schumer a dirty word in the new lexicon of sleaze. For example, when the birds target practice on the roof of your car, you say, "O no I been Schumered!" or when you tell your kid to clean up after the canine: "Hey, son, here's a shovel; Fido left a bunch of Schumer on the lawn over there"–or when you get your hours cut: "Hey, Schumer happens." we have to work this into the language like Mailer did when he wanted to make a mother a dirty word.
Hillbuzz it makes me very angry when you call Senator Nelson a whore. Whores are much better people than Nelson.
A short term Memory helped Democrats in 2010. Democrats did better on the day than in the polls. If the poles were right the GOP would have 50 Senators, 10 more Congress and 4 more Governor seats. But I don't see Nelson recovering. But we need to give the Democrats 4% more in the polls than Rassmussen, this gives us a good working figure on how to spend campaign money.
Another long time Nebraskan chiming in. Ben Nelson started out as a Republican but wanted to run for the Senate and so switched party affiliation to enable him to run. He has had a lot of respect over the past several years for remaining fairly conservative. When he made the historic vote on Obamacare he became toast in Nebraska. We may be fly over country but we have long, long memories. Nelson should be figuring out what he wants to do when he's defeated 2012. I'd love to have our current Governor but we hate to give him up. Look for Dave Henieman's name in the future! The people of Nebraska have not forgotten.

I grew up in Nebraska, and my parents and sister still live there (I LOVED living there, would go back to Omaha in a heartbeat). That said, I feel bad that Ben Nelson has ruined his entire career by his Obamacare vote. I don't ever remember him being a Republican, but he was a very conservative Democrat, and I voted for him for governor way back when. I think he was more conservative than the former Rep senator from NE – Chuck Hagel. Nelson was pro-life, and he was a Democrat GWB would court to come over to the Republican side when he needed votes. I think Bush even had a nickname for him. Anyway, I was Dem throughout my 20's and early 30's, but have voted Republican for the past 15 years. I always admired Nelson though, and said he was the kind of Democrat I could always vote for. It's just sad how he tarnished his career by caving in to Obama. My father (a lifelong Dem) is convinced Nelson was blackmailed into his vote.
