DOOM ANTIDOTE: Today’s your last chance to join the Romney Election Day Task Force and be part of the historic defeat of Obama and the Left!

Posted on October 21, 2012 by Kevin DuJan // Featured Content, Open Threads

[ Click above to join America's Comeback Team and beat the Left at GOTV ground game for the first time in history ]

Today is your very last chance to join the Romney Election Day Task force and become part of the historic defeat of Obama and the Left in a very big and important way. You can apply to the task force HERE…and in a day or so you will be contacted by the Romney campaign and assigned a role in the GOTV (Get Out the Vote) efforts for Election Day.

Why this matters and is actually so groundbreaking:

There are many cliches we hear repeated over and over and OVER again by the Ministry of Truth that is the national media (Minitru, for short) every election…and the most irritating one has long been that “Democrats have an impressive ground game and GOTV efforts”.  For years, I’d hear that and my blood would boil because I’d think “What the heck is wrong with Republicans that they can’t get their stupid act together and do this better than the cat-herders of the Left?”.  Well, apparently it took an accomplished and proven manager like Mitt Romney to get the GOP in gear because they are CRUSHING the Left on ground game this year.

Have you noticed that Minitru has completely forgotten the word “GOTV” in 2012?  I have not heard a single story about get out the anything; it’s like ground game doesn’t exist on either side now, because in 2012 Republicans have a massive advantage that Minitru won’t report on.  So, in typical Minitru fashion, they just pretend that no GOTV is happening at all, anywhere.  As Michelle Malkin would say on her site, “Squirrel!” (and let’s all look somewhere else and pretend this good thing that Romney is up to is not happening at all).

Now, Democrats have always relied on two things for their GOTV efforts: union thugs and hired goons paid for with “street money” in urban centers like Chicago, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Detroit and Los Angeles.  The Left has always paid for its GOTV efforts via the unions and the precinct captains in major cities that hire criminals, gang members, and thugs like the Black Panthers to intimidate people in poor areas to vote Democrat on election day (or else). That’s been the key to their GOTV for many years now, since at least the late 1980s.

Republicans, obviously, never had a built-in goon squad like the unions and they weren’t hiring black street gangs to drag people to the polls or threaten to kill them if they didn’t vote…so there was no GOTV on the GOP side for all these years.  Republicans also weren’t willing to pay people to drive voter turnout, so the story was always that Democrats would keep their advantage here.

But, Mitt Romney really proved to us that he deserved to be the nominee this year because man alive what his campaign is pulling off here is INCREDIBLE.  This is the most organized and well-run campaign EVER.  They’ve finally made it easy for people to help in ways suited to them FROM HOME…and this Election Day Task Force identifies people’s strengths instantly and then finds the best way to utilize everyone.  If you are in a state that’s competitive, then you might be assigned to work a polling place using your iPhone app to send real time info to the Romney campaign (including reporting any funny business you see Democrats engaged in).  If you’re not in a swing state or a must-win state, you could be assigned to make calls to get people to the polls.  I think those who are willing to drive people to vote can hook up with Romney campaign offices through this Task Force as well…and there are things to do even if you can’t spare the entire day on November 6th.  Whatever time you have to give, and whatever strengths and talent YOU bring to the table, the Romney campaign can use YOU for GOTV efforts.

Just think about the magnitude of this.

Conservatives, at last, are trumping the union thugs and the paid street gangs and blunting the Democrats’ decades-long advantage.

All because of the leadership of Mitt Romney and his strategists in Boston who have FINALLY, at long last, devised a means to organize conservatives in a GOTV effort unlike anything that’s come before it.

Great Merciful Zeus, this is exciting.

So far, about 80% of my personal friends are taking part in the Election Day Task Force.  My project today is to see if I can get that number up to 90-95%.  Or more.  Here’s how I am going to do it:

* I’m sending out a personal email to everyone in my private contacts list asking them to join the Election Day Task Force and letting them know that today is the last day to do so.  I am telling them this is their chance to blunt the union thugs and street gangs who normally win election for Democrats via fraud and intimidation.  If they ever wondered why Republicans never organized GOTV efforts and bemoaned that fact, well now that there is one they need to embrace it and join up today…because today is the very last day.

* Starting about midday today, I’m going to do a round of telephone calls to people I particularly know have the time or zeal to be involved and make sure that they know how to apply to the Task Force.  I will try to call about 40 people I know to make sure they are on board.

* At around 5pm CST, I am going to send out a text message to my personal contacts asking them to please participate in the Election Day Task Force because this is the last day and their help is needed.

* I’ll use my Facebook and Twitter throughout the day to reach people as well…spreading the word that today is the very last day for joining the Task Force (so make today count and be a part of history here).

We can’t just win the election and defeat the Left… we really need to decimate Democrats and deliver the greatest smackdown a political party has seen in a century.  Honestly, I want to watch Chris Matthews dissolve into a puddle of tears on election night.  I want all of the MSNBC talking heads to fall speechless as they realize that Democrats destroyed themselves by pushing Barack Obama and his radical agenda on the country.  I want the entire Left to howl like vampires doused in holy water because their time in power is over for 20 or 30 years or more.

The only way this all happens is if everyone I know takes part in this.

So, that leads me to this personal request to you.  If you are a longtime reader or lurker or if you’ve ever enjoyed a single thing I’ve done here at this site, please join Romney’s Election Day Task Force today.  If I’ve ever written anything that made you smile or you liked reading, please join Romney’s Election Day Task Force and help us bring down the Left in two weeks.  Because we’re friends like this, please join me and the people I love the most in doing our part to help Mitt Romney do what was once thought impossible:  to beat Democrats at ground game.

In the cartoons and movies I loved as a kid, there were times when something so big was happening (usually in a “very special episode”) where a giant super team of heroes would assemble for one large event…and the cast of characters would include all my favorites from all across the spectrum, working together at the same time towards something grand and historic.  No matter what their individual talents were, teaming up like that for the big event was the means by which the sum total of their abilities were harnessed just that one time to achieve what seemed impossible.

You have talent.  You have drive to beat the Left. You have been frustrated and angered by what Obama has done to the country for four years in office.  You at times have felt scared and helpless as Democrats shoved through dangerous legislation without even reading it before passing it into law.

Well, now’s your chance to push back.

If you are tired of Democrats doing what they do and the Left bullying and intimidating people, well, the Election Day Task Force is essentially going to push back hard and drive these monsters all the way back to the Gates of Hell.  You, too, can be part of that pushback.

Please apply to the Task Force.

Make sure all your loved ones know about it and apply too.

Make sure everyone at your church knows.

All the guys on your sports team.

Every lady in your club.

All your friends and neighbors.

Anyone who loves this country and detests what Obama did to it needs to assemble together into the super team that Mitt Romney’s assembled.

Be part of this. Help make history. And do something in the next two weeks that 50 years from now you will be so very, very proud of.

I signed up to be a poll watcher for early voting down here in Florida. My entire family waves signs at the busy intersections every week. We are having so much fun! I love seeing the young kids out waving signs with us. It gives me faith in our youth:)

At one of the sign waving events we had over a 100 at the end of a large bridge on a Friday afternoon. Some leftist called the police stating we were creating a traffic concern. The officer came by to make sure we were safely back from the road. He said have fun and by the way I am a Republican!! GO R&R 2012!

Maybe as a poll watcher you’ll have to keep an eye out for THESE people:

      http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/263141-international-monitors-at-polling-places-draw-criticism-from-voter-fraud-group

It is absolutely unbelievable that “civil rights” groups are enlisting FOREIGN poll watchers from the United Nations – like we’re some third world country or something. The article states that there will be 44 poll watchers dispatched around the country, to select precincts. I wonder where those precincts are? Where exactly do they think all of these Republican “vote suppression” activities will be taking place?

Of course, once I started thinking about this rationally, I also realized that if the lefties are already screaming “vote suppression” it’s because they know the blacks aren’t going to come out in 2012 the way they did in 2008. And if Barky doesn’t get the votes from his peeps that he thinks are coming to him, they will scream “FRAUD!!!” VOTE SUPPRESSION!!!”

After all, prior to the first debate, they were busy setting the bar pretty low for Obama, and he did only disappointed them because he went way UNDER the low bar. So they set the bar low again for the 2nd debate, and he at least showed up, so they could say he won.

Amazing how the left always seems to show their hand and their fear by making the argument for losing, prior to the event.

      OK, now I feel better.

There is something wholly insulting about this. The greatest country in the world needs a bunch of dictator sent watchers? I think most Americans no matter who you are would say “no thanks”.

Morris was on Pirro’s program last night. That entire program is worth watching, she has a way of getting to the heart of things like no one else. He spoke about this. He basically said that voting is a province of the states. Each secretary of state certifies the election results. He recommended that “any governor listening” ban these folks from their individual states.

She had three congressmen on last night. Have heard Devin Nunes on batchelor many times, you almost feel like you know him. Last night on Pirro’s program the three, two of whom are never at a loss for words, seemed to be carefully watching their words, it was odd at best.

Because poll watchers from the Ukraine know all about “fair” elections. Even sillier is what do these foreign poll watchers know about US elections? We have different rules and regulations.

I swear I want the UN out after the US elections! They’re nothing but a commie organization now with fantastical dreams of world domination. It’s sick!

Unfortunately, I’m over here in Japan, but I do have two US neighbors from Washington State who have filled out their absentee ballots and are voting straight ticket republican. So that’s two for Romney/ Ryan!

Remember the “last chance to get your free bumper sticker email?”

What is disturbing is that in order to get on their website you have to donate or give an email sign in, from day 1. Always wondered about that, they want no voter ID but their website is hard to get into.

The bloom is definitely off the rose for better informed Obamabots.

On the Romney social feeds, you still get the ones that can only quote whatever MSNBC has told them…..it is really mind bogging!

BEST YARD SIGN: In the very leftist (oops, almost said the word) town of Mt. Lebanon (suburb of Pittsburgh) the Obama signs slightly outnumber the RR signs. But on one block there seems to be a little one-up-man-ship going on. I saw a FORWARD sign as I drove past and just assumed that it was another Obama sign. I slowed down to read it. Yep…Big FOWARD, and it showed a Jackass jumping off of a cliff and there were these little sheep following right behind him!! This wasn’t a home made sign. Two people on the block had one as a response to the Pennsylvanians for Obama signs that were on the rest of the block. I want one!!

That reminds me of an “Obama Biteme” sticker I saw on the LIE (long island expressway) … I had to look closely to see it wasn’t Obama Biden sign. The driver was a young guy in a suit w more suits hanging in the back seat … A business guy on his way somewhere. I cheered!

As a result, I won’t be doing any of Kevin’s great recipes on election day; but, come the weekend, we’re going to pull the family together for a royal feast. I ordered the lasagna pan, Kevin, because we’re friends like that :)

It’s about halfway down the post. If you order it by clicking on the Amazon link Kevin provides, HillBuzz gets a percentage of the $ you spend to help defray operating expenses.

(BTW, I plan on doing any Christmas shopping I do with Amazon by linking thru HillBuzz. It won’t cost me any extra and it will help support the site!)

Thanks so much for this. It really helps a lot. If people who like HB would always click on the amazon link we have to get to that site then we’ll always get a little help for our servers via Amazon ads fees. And it doesn’t cost anyone any extra.

I love that lasagna pan. What’s fun about it is that there are three separate compartments so I make things a little different in each one. For instance, i don’t eat a lot of dairy but Justin loves cheese….so one of the lasagnas I make cheesey for him and in another compartment I make mine with less cheese.

I use red sauce on the first two and then for Justin I also make a white lasagna with ham and chicken and alfredo sauce instead of beef and sausage and red sauce.

Sometimes I make him a mushroom and spinach one if I can find nice mushrooms at the Jewel.

I replace all milk with almond milk (unsweetened) and I am really happy with how everything turns out doing that.

I really love almond milk. It’s only like 70-cents more than regular but I can’t drink the regular anymore…and the vanilla one (that you can’t use in savory things though) tastes like a milk shake to me. I buy ice cream for Justin but I always get sorbet for me. I’d love an almond milk ice cream if they ever make one.

The other day Michelle Obama said she voted already for Barack. And then they said he would vote before the election, no president has ever done this.

I too think this is really odd.

I’m sure the Romneys and Ryans wll do the traditional voting thing that people actually look forward to seeing.

Image unfortunately matters in politics, and the whole election day photo op is sort of an election day tradition. Why they would seed that imagery to Romney and Ryan is beyond me. The last image that many people will have of Ryan before they vote is of him and his cute kids at the polling place in Janesville. And this will be after the photo op of him taking his cute kids trick or treating around Janesville about a week earlier.

Let’s see in Obama’s family: Just him and Michelle can vote. Their daughters are too young.

Romney: Him, his wife, their fives sons, and his sons’ wives. (I don’t know if their grandkids are old enough).

That’s 2 for Obama and twelve for Romney. I swear this election could almost be won on Romney’s extended family alone.

This is why leftism is doomed, they spend more time aborting kids than having them.

As for Mormons… outbreeding muslims (or keeping on par, but outdoing them when mortality rate is taken into account) for the past decade.

So I swear Romney and his whole family and extended family could be quite a demoralizing photo for the left.

I have been thinking about signing up for awhile, and I just did. By the way, here in NC (South of Raleigh and into Fayetteville), I’m only seeing R/R signs and lots of them. Even saw a pickup with a homemade huge R/R sign in the bed of it and American Flags on the cab. Kind of reminded me of the days after 9/11 with all the cars with american flags. Also saw some pre-printed post notes in the post office about firing obama on nov 6. I love it, I love the energy I am seeing, and I love that I am seeing American’s rally. It’s a very positive energy, but one of substance. This isn’t just hope. It’s a pent up energy. Americans are ready to work.

On the radio the other day, Rush said something, and it’s something I’ve been thinking all along; the day after Romney gets elected, business is going to open up – IE people will start taking risks again, because we know we will have a fighting chance. I think business owners know it’s going to be a rough go still, but we will do what American’s have always done, roll up our sleeves and get to work. I get the same feedback from business owners, real estate agents, etc; people are just waiting, waiting for this election, waiting for him to win, so they can steam forward. Not a government directed forward, but the American people have FAITH in Romney’s integrity. There is ZERO of that with the current administration. I don’t know if they realize it yet, but this administration has essentially become a caricature of itself. It is doing all the things we expected it to do, fudging numbers to make themselves look good, etc, but it’s too far gone, most Americans have caught on and the only joke is the one on themselves.

At this point too, I don’t see Obama as a decision making entity. When he said “you didn’t build that”, it’s because it’s a reflection of his life… he didn’t build his life, everyone else did for him. He uses people, they use him. People’s true thoughts are often a reflection of their lives and experiences. The reason he so firmly believes that statement is because his whole life he has not done one thing for himself. I have never not seen our president as a leader, but I can’t help but see him as just a pawn. He is a pawn in-line with their own thought pattern, but still a pawn.

Romney is his own person. Bush was his own person. Clinton, his own person… hell even Carter was his own person, as poor as his policies were. But this man, he is like a whole bunch of people. He is what polls well in the moment. Every damn thing they call the Romney out for doing, it is exactly what they do. People evolved, people change. Romney is not perfect, but he is the perfect president for this situation. He is a product of America. I am looking forward to the day he is elected. I am looking forward to seeing him and Ann in the White House. I will go to the inauguration unless my hands are absolutely tied and I can’t get away. Rather than waving goodbye to Obama, I want to see a man of integrity sworn in again. He has all the makings of a great president. He is a good man, with a good heart. And that is the best way I can describe “Americans”. Good people with good hearts. These leftist bs’ers may talk louder, but goodness will prevail.

Just so. That alone makes Romney the better candidate.

I also look forward to the way President and Mrs. Romney will respect our nation’s “civic religion” … putting dignity back into the White House, our “civic cathedral”, instead of jumping jacks and burlap sack races in the East Room and all the other things Mr. and Mrs. Barky have done to disrespect and insult our people and our traditions. I’m looking forward to presidential dignity and an attitude of responsibility toward the generations.

My kids just saw the picture you had of Romney/Ryan on your last post about Election Day food and asked me who they were. I told them that it was future President Romney and Vice-President Ryan after mommy and daddy go vote for them in the next two weeks. They are 3,4 & 5. My children will be raise conservative despite being in public school.
Early voting starts tomorrow in Texas, seems like a good enough day to go vote :)

My kids were finally old enough to ask me about it, and I explained that when they are 18, they are responsible to vote, in every election. They are now 21, 23, 25, raised in Southern California, and educated in public schools, and vote Conservative. It CAN BE DONE!

My husband and I just had “the talk” without daughter. We’ve always been very careful to not let on our disappointment with Obama. As badly as we talk About him in private, we have been anxious to not sully her natural awe that the office, if not the man, deserves. We explained that Obama is not a bad person, that he is a dad with little girls who love him very much, that his wife also loves him but that it is time for a new president, President Romney (glow!). A Romney win seems like a foregone conclusion but I’ve signed up for the team as requested : )

We still have time to get the message out to our undecided friends about what is at stake in this election. The corrupt media has not said anything about obama’s silent war against the Catholic Church and other religious organizations. There is an assault against our first amendment rights. The HHS mandate in obamacare. Please listen and pass this on.

I have even seen a small billboard with a crying Statue of Liberty, with the words “Bill of Rights under Obama,” with “religious liberty” crossed out, and then asking “WHAT”S NEXT?” It’s in a good spot, and everyone can see it while driving along.

Hubby and I watch the morning shows when we can. Meet the press opened with F. Chuck Todd and David in extacy over the new poll. They were thrilled with the tie, said men were breaking for Romney but women by 8 points were breaking for Obama, this thrilled them to report. Of course they love to think women have no brains only private parts. They laughed when they said “both campaigns think they are winning”. But of course, they know Obama will win, and you can tell that from the snarky way they reported all of this.

I think this whole election cycle we’ve all known the polls are fairly well skewed, but a funny thing has happened recently. Early voting. For the first time there are actual facts at play and I think they show Ohio is essentially already in the column for Romney.

    First, Saturday’s Ohio polls:

    Gravis shows 47-47 with a D/R/I of 41/32/27
PPP shows Obama up 49-48 with a D/R/I of 42/34/23

I think we all inherently know these splits are absurd. In 2008 the split was 39/31/30 and in 2010 it was 36/37/28. In all likelihood, for all the known reasons, the split is going to be much closer to 2010 than 2008, but even if we split it down the middle, it’d be something like 37/34/29, which is well off the above polls. And both polls have Romney up among independents (by 19 and 9 respectively).

But the real story I think is the early voters. I saw this posted at Ace of Spades, that while PPP shows that 21% in their poll have voted early, the actual, factual, real life number is 11%. Their poll is oversampling early voters by 10 points, which points to a couple of things:

    1. It reflects pretty clearly the D+8 oversample.
    2. Obama is winning pretty clearly among early voters. Taken together I think this shows that those who are likely to vote early are also more likely to answer a poll, in this case again resulting in an oversampling of Democrats.

Based on all this, I think it’s pretty clear that Romney is going to win Ohio by more than 5 points, which is more than Obama’s margin for victory in 2008.

The Ohio Secretary of State’s office says 400,000 have already voted. Off hand, I don’t know how many Ohioans will vote, but 400K doesn’t sound like much when compared to how many voted in 2008.

I canvass for Romney here in Ohio. As a part of my script, I ask our supporters if they’re interested in early voting. The vast majority say no- that it’s cheating the system or just not right.

Regardless, people who vote early already are lock-step for whoever they vote for. Indies are the people who matter, and of course making sure our people get out.

All of the polls are in some part based on the 2008 party split (Dem +9) this makes them a useless waste of time. Obama isn’t going to get anywhere near that number to turn out. Use your eyes and your common sense. Don’t accept any paid political hacks polling. The DNC sag this year is significant. It may be as significant as ’88.

I was thinking about this post some more and unreported Republican ground game actually reminds me a lot of the 2004 election. All I remember reading and hearing about then was the Democrats had a huge ground game and much better organized grass roots support and that was going to be the difference in the election. And then Bush received more votes than any candidate ever.

It was only after the fact that I started to read about Karl Rove’s amazing ground game and GOTV campaign. But just yesterday I read about one of the Tea Party groups expects more than one million volunteers on Election Day, that’s just incredible.

I have already registered for the Task Force… I even arranged my schedule to do it the entire day on Nov. 6.

Two years ago I was in graduate school at future VP Ryan’s alma mater. It was a Political Science program, and I was the only guy who wasn’t a committed leftie Democrat. I remember on the day of the midterms, they were all dispirited, one of them openly said in class that “all the racists will be voting today.” I keep in touch with a few of them on Facebook now. A few weeks ago when I posted on FB about the Obamaflag poster, one of them remarked about the “sinking ship that is the Romney campaign.” I’m intending on Nov. 7 to message him, asking him “can you clarify what you meant earlier about the ‘sinking ship of the Romney campaign?’”

Spitmanfl- I seriously intend to buy some Obama merchandise- eventually they’ll be worth something. But I only intend to do it AFTER the election- I don’t want my money going to them till then. BUT- you can still order a free Obama bumper sticker online- a little way to drain their coffers.

DG- Remember, there were international “poll monitors” here in 2004. After the election, while the Dems were crying about “fraud,” the monitors didn’t say a thing. From what I understand, they were content with how things went. Democrats will call for monitors in any election they think they may lose… they feel entitled to power.

Both the US and Iran have denied the rumors. (Reuters) Here is what I could dig up:

Saturday: The New York Times, quoting unnamed U.S. administration officials, had said on Saturday that secret exchanges between U.S. and Iranian officials had yielded agreement “in principle” to hold one-on-one talks.

Saturday: The White House on Saturday denied a report in the New York Times that said the Obama administration had agreed to one-on-one talks with Iran on its nuclear program.

National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor said in a statement the United States would continue to work with fellow permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany to resolve the issue.

Sunday: DUBAI (Reuters) – Iran followed the United States on Sunday in denying that the two countries had scheduled direct bilateral negotiations on Iran’s controversial nuclear program.

“We don’t have any discussions or negotiations with America,” Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi told a news conference. “The (nuclear) talks are ongoing with the P5+1 group of nations. Other than that, we have no discussions with the United States.”

We should start a pool for the exact time that Chris Matthews:

        a) goes catatonic
        b) calls Jerry Brown and orders him to personally vote dem for every californian.
        c) starts foaming at the mouth
        d) attempts to cut his jugular with a pen

We saw 2 Obama/Biden yard sign yesterday (FL Space Coast). I saw one in a yard, too far away to read, then I saw one among local contests on side of road. It was medium blue on the bottom half and a soft red on the top half, In very small white print where the two colors met was OBAMA-BIDEN. It was almost impossible to read 20 feet away. I’m wondering if they don’t want to win!

Has anyone else seen this sign?

    Senate alert!

**Please keep in mind these numbers are based on an inflated dem turnout. Use this solely to help motivate anyone you know in these states. If we get any three of these we control the senate.

Massachusetts (D pickup) Real Clear Politics Average: Warran 48.0%, Brown 46.3%

Missouri (D hold) Real Clear Politics Average: McCaskill 45.8%, Akin 43.5%

Connecticut (D hold) Real Clear Politics Average: Murphy 47.0%, McMahon 42.%

Virginia (D hold) Real Clear Politics Average: Kaine 47.6%, Allen 45.4%

Wisconsin (D hold) Real Clear Politics Average: Baldwin 48.4%, Thompson 46.0%

**Again these numbers are based on polls that expect a 6 to 9 percent democrat advantage. We are that close. We can take the whole ball of wax and Obamacare dies! If you know anybody in these states let them know how important their vote has become.

Here’s how the Senate races are REALLY going to turn out:

Massachusetts = (R), Brown wins easily

Missouri = (R), Akin beats McCaskill

Connecticut = (R), though I’m torn because it’s just my gut saying it but McMahon is doing better than the media admits

Virginia = (R), Allen beats Kain

      Wisconsin = (R), Thompson wins

I also feel in my gut that Linda Lingle beats Lazy Mazie in Hawaii for a shocker. She did it before in the Governor’s race. Why not the Senate this year?

I think almost all Democrats are going to lose their Senate races.

Mandel will win in Ohio too.

      That’s another one.

From your lips to God’s ears, Kevin! Thank you so much for saving my sanity with HillBuzz this election season. My mother is still a bit of an eyeore, but she watches NBC, reads the NYTimes, and lives in NY, so what can I expect. I told her today that Romney’s going to win, and it’s only a question of how much of a beat down it’s going to be, and I told her to check out HillBuzz. I think you are right about Scott Brown — even my lefty neighbors, who plan to vote for Obama and Joe Kennedy version 3.0 for congress, can’t stand her and said they won’t vote for her. By the way, we have a Romney volunteer, the assistant to a friend of a friend of my husband’s from DC, who has been living with us from the end of September and will stay until the election, working full time at Romney headquarters in Boston. She says the internal polls are very good for Romney and looking like an epic victory.

If the dems are a disgusted with Obama as I suspect, I agree.

I was just trying to make sure once again that nobody falls for more inaccurate polls based on bad data. Polls have become a tool of the media to suppress republican turnout. It’s the only explanation for them to assume that democrats will turn out like they did in 2008.

I’m worried about Jeff Flake in AZ, I heard his interview on Mark Levin’s show. There’s a Libertarian on the ballot which is drawing away some voters and apparently the primary battle did some damage that he is trying to overcome…would love to hear a ground report from someone in AZ. If anyone is able to make calls to help his campaign, we need to jump in. FreedomWorks is targeting this race and you can make calls from around the country…

Kevin: this is a great civic thing you’re doing. I want to let you know that although I voted for Republicans in the past, I’ve never felt compelled to go out and volunteer my time and efforts to the campaign. You pushed me over that edge. I have to say I also feel it’s the preference cascade kicking in. I feel like being on that bandwagon everyone talks about. But again, your website is awesome, and you are doing a great service to this country by encouraging people to volunteer.

OK Kevin, I did it. I signed up today and credited you and Hillbuzz as my referral. I’m a relatively new reader (this is my first time posting) but ever since I found this site it has become a (several times) daily reader. You are a breath of fresh air and a true patriot! I’m in Florida and I have to tell you, had Luntz NOT called it yesterday, I would have. Our area is blanketed with R/R signs…the leftists are very, very quiet…and I am happy dancing! I have a toddler, so I’m not sure *how much* I’ll be able to do on election day, but something is better than nothing and I’m tired of biting my tongue. Based on your descriptions (such as with the evil neighbors, etc.) I get the impression that I’m a lot like Justin. I don’t want to offend or upset anyone. Ever. BUT I now have a fire in my core that won’t be put out. I was raised in a very patriotic, conservative, pro-military household. Everything I’ve ever believed in, fought for and loved is under attack. I’m done being nice. Romney/Ryan 2012. Let’s DO this thing!

I have never published a comment nor volunteered for a campaign. Today is a first on both counts and Hillbuzz got the credit. In Virginia and I have a RR bumper sticker…another first.not many signs at all in Richmond but they are growing. Many more for RR than O…almost no bumper stickers…weird. One street that was covered in Obama signs last time has only one and around 10 for RR

“In the cartoons and movies I loved as a kid, there were times when something so big was happening (usually in a “very special episode”) where a giant super team of heroes would assemble for one large event…and the cast of characters would include all my favorites from all across the spectrum, working together at the same time towards something grand and historic. No matter what their individual talents were, teaming up like that for the big event was the means by which the sum total of their abilities were harnessed just that one time to achieve what seemed impossible.”

Doctor Who’s series 4 finale “The Stolen Earth/Journey’s End” is like that… all the companions come back to work with the Doctor against the series’ villain.

I was telling hubby that one of the cables, can’t remember which one, was busy stressing how close the race was and how it might be a tie and then what would happen.

I told this to hubby and he reacted just like Kevin reacted when I told Kevin. So finally he saw a couple of things and did a little research. In the event of a tie, the House of Representatives will pick the president but, here’s the very interesting part, the Senate would pick the Vice President. If the Senate is composed as it is now, they could pick Joe Biden or Barack or Hilary or any democrat. Hubby told us this at dinner and we all laughed and then were a little shocked. He felt they’d pick Ryan cause they would really be creating a little hot mess picking a democrat but it was funny when he said it.

It’s not going to be a tie.

Romney is going to win by about 70-80 EVs. It could be a win by about 100 EVs.

Also, the tie is impossible because of Maine. One of the Maine EVs is going to Romney, guaranteed, because of the system they have of awarding by Congressional district…so Obama might get 2 votes there but not all 3.

That means no tie…since it would be 268 Obama and 270 Romney…but not 269-269.

It’s not going to be close though.

This is the new game that people are playing since they can’t play the “Hillary will be VP!” game anymore.

Thank you Kevin for that explanation. I copied and pasted to hubby in an email so he sees it first thing tomorrow morning. It will be one of those aha moments for him. He loves this stuff and he will say “of course Kevin is right, how did I miss that?”

But, I realize that they are starting to say this on the cable networks more than they had last week so I see what you mean, it’s another meme to distract us from the task at hand. And, I can’t believe that I, dummy that I am, fell into the trap. Shame on me, I should know better!
