Do Straight People Pick Up on All the Gay Jokes that Drudge Report Makes at Barack Obama’s Expense?

I’m curious. Do straight people pick up on all the gay jokes that Matt Drudge at Drudge Report makes at Barack Obama’s expense?
It happens all the time…like today…and usually involved Drudge running a link to a story about Reggie Love…and then somewhere nearby on the page there’s a link to something else that is phrased in a way that, when combined with the Reggie Love and Obama story, creates the gay joke.
Today it was this story about Love: REPORT: ‘Body man’ Reggie Love paid by top Obama donor…
And then immediately below it was this: LEADING FROM BEHIND: Barack chases Mitt…
Get it?
Reggie Love, Obama, BEHIND, Barack chases…
This happens too often to be a coincidence.
Drudge can’t be busted by anyone on it, though, because he has plausible deniability in that “these stories are not related and just happen to fall that way on the page”…and he can then accuse a critic of being crazy and seeing things that weren’t there.
But these clues that Obama is gay are TOTALLY there.
To my knowledge, Drudge has never directly linked to any story regarding Barack Obama’s gay experiences, here in Chicago or further afield. But every so often Drudge goes out of his way to highlight the bizarre and unexplained relationship that Obama has had with guys like Love, Kal Penn, Nick Colwin, Alex Okrent, Larry Sinclair, and Michael Signatore. When the first honest biographies of Obama are written in the future, these are the people who will fill the chapters that are devoted to the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Mary Pinchot Meyer, Mimi Alford, Angie Dickinson, and Jayne Mansfield in the Kennedy bios.

The only people who can’t see that Barack Obama is gay are the ones who don’t want to see it. I had an aunt growing up who was in love with Liberace and used to send him Christmas cards and fan letters because he was the “perfect man”. Yah, for other men. She didn’t know Rock Hudson was gay either and had her first heart attack when Richard Chamberlain and Tab Hunter came out. She still won’t believe it about James Dean or Monty Clift. I hope no one ever tells her about Tom Cruise, Will Smith, and John Travolta!
Barack Obama is as straight-acting as Richard Simmons…who, believe it or not, also has fans who refuse to believe in his fabulousness.
Can those of you who are straight pick up on any clues like this, or are you blind to it like my aunt?
And don’t say “I don’t care if someone is gay” just to get attention for yourself because yes, it does matter that a politician is secretly gay because that person is hiding personal loyalties and agendas from the public while lying to voters and is very subject to blackmail both foreign and domestic. No politician running for elected office should be closeted and no actor or other entertainer who makes political comments supporting one party over another should remain closeted either since that person seeks to affect votes and should reveal his or her hidden agenda too.

UPDATE: I went ahead and pulled Drudge’s archives to look for the other innuendos he’s ran on Reggie Love and Barack Obama. Some of these “jokes” involve the photos chosen while others involve word play in the article titles surrounding the Reggie/Obama story. With some of them, I think you need to be gay to get the joke. For whatever reason, Matt Drudge will not out Obama directly but he never passes up an opportunity to wink at his readers by presenting each reference to Reggie Love alongside SOMETHING that clues you into the fact that he’s the current President’s male lover (or was, since they seem to not be together anymore as of September 2012).
Here’s some of the innuendo that Drudge Report has run on Obama and Reggie Love while linking stories that feature Love. The key is to look at the stories that are posted around the one with Reggie Love and Obama in them; there will be a picture or words in the other stories that make a joke about Obama and Reggie Love being gay lovers and its up to Drudge’s readers to pick up on the innuendo. Like this:

[ This one is Drudge making a little play on words....there's the death threat against President story...then Reggie love saying "don't trust your dirty hands"...then a story about parasites gnawing through eyeballs...and then a pic of some gusher squirting milky white stuff everywhere. Parasites...a one-eyed something or another mentioned...things squirming around...something shooting hot liquids into the air...innuendo, folks. Think about it. He could have run any picture he wanted for Yosemite...like trees, or a cabin, or a map...and he could have positioned these stories in any order on the site...but they sort of tell a story when you read them horizontally like this. It's a little game Matt Drudge is playing with people who read him often enough]
[ This one was fun. It's the pictures this time that tell the innuendo. Hot football guys stretching and looking at each other. Obama staring at himself in the mirror (the thing he loves most in the world). A pic of the Romneys on their wedding day. And a pic of Reggie Love and Obama together. Taken as a whole it's a tableau that leaves out any woman for Obama, and has him surrounded instead by his own narcissism, hot guys, and his "body man" Reggie when Romney is in the most heterosexual picture that's publishable.]
[ This is another instance where picture choice made the innuendo. Here's Obama and Reggie Love together...then Obama opening wide with something creamy in front of him. You do the math on that. Also look where Reggie's head is in relation to the second picture. If the pic of Reggie was a full body pic...Obama's face would be in Reggie's loins. ]
[ This one is a succession of words starting with Matt Damon's "rip Obama again" bit (don't make me explain that, but think of harm happening during sex that two guys might have)...then there's the Whitney Houston/Kevin Costner reference with Bodyguard (where Obama is Ms. Houston, RIP) and the implication that Reggie is coming to rescue Obama (like Costner did to the character Miss Rachel Marron)...skip Newt's pic but I think that "No more Mr. Nice" works because Reggie and Obama were on the rocks at this point because of Kal Penn...then there's the word "gay" in the next line...and then "man up". Too many of these in a row to be a coincidence, folks. This is Matt Drudge having fun and putting out clues for those smart enough to catch it]
Here’s the thing: this is what I do with my own writing. I slip hidden in-jokes into everything all the time.
I write this site really for my friends and I put things in there that are secret shoutouts to them around the country. Lots of other people read my stuff too, but the jokes are really for my friends to laugh at and shoot me emails during the day telling me they got the message. I 100% believe that Drudge slips these little in-jokes into his efforts too, and they are for the benefit of those clued-in enough to spot them.
Maybe after reading this you will start spotting them on your own, too!

I’m a pretty oblivious straight person on a lot of things – even though I’ve wondered and continue to wonder why Obama won’t claim what his actions show him to be – and it never crossed my mind about Drudge putting in “hidden” hints. Of course, now that you’ve pointed this out I probably will be looking for the “code” in everything Drudge posts.
So I don’t drive myself crazy, I’ll just keep on believing what my observation of Obama has illustrated over the past 4 years: he’s the most dishonest and deceitful president since Nixon. And that has nothing to do with whatever his preferred sexuality is or may be – but maybe it’s all the same thing

I picked up on it but then I’ve known since Larry Sinclair days so to me it’s like just a bit of mockery of the obvious…but many people actually believe mooch and berry are luv-cuddlers.
Lamecherry often describes that much of DC is run by gays or bis because there’s a built-in blackmail and advantage…i.e. if you do so-and-so you get ahead, but then they have something on you. He said Stevens was in that position.
In this dynamic, mainly gays get ahead, or even straights who will do a gay-act just to further themselves.

In Hollywood, they used to have “Geffen’s Babies”.
These were straight guys who would become David Geffens’ male lovers so he would further their careers. He never kept one for longer than 6 months or a year. They were pets, essentially. Keanu Reeves was one. Geffen liked having a straight guy clean his house in the nude, do sexual things to him, etc. These guys wanted movie parts…so they let Geffen touch their private parts. And then many went on to become big stars.
Geffen is the “G” in the SKG Dreamworks….with Spielberg and Jeffry Katzenberg (previously of Disney).
It’s called “gay for pay”.
Straight guys do this in Boystown too. The gay bar MiniBar only hires straight, buff guys represented by modeling agencies…and there is a casting couch there too. The money is so good and the hours so flexible that the straight guys are eager to prove how good and flexible they can be too.
The things that go on in this town could fill a section of the Enquirer.

I remember live blogging and emailing Larry Sinclair at the beginning, ME of all people, ha, …but I totally totally believed him and I liked his person and I was incensed as how he was abused (false arrest by Beau Biden, Axelrod’s fake lie detector test), and he was sick, they even took away his medicine in jail, and well I always figured if he hadn’t come forward with his youtube he would have wound up like Donald Young. Being gay, from Chicago, associated with BHO typically proves to be quite lethal.
But what else bugged me was Obama’s campaigning for Odinga in violation of the Logan Act in 2007 in Kenya; Odinga had vowed revenge if he lost and all those Christian Luos were slaughtered when he did lose, and Condi Rice even supported the shared copresidency with Kibaki. I really was apolitical before I read about this and then Larry came along and then the non-natural born citizen thing…and that’s when I first realized American politics, it all stunk, Obama stinks, he’s a filthy anti-American, I couldn’t believe people didn’t see the smirky shit-eatin’ grin he always had on his face, like he was pulling the biggest one over on humanity — as if this would finally address his sick psychopathies. I saw right through him, always did, and was most disgusted that it seemed nobody else did (but I was wrong, most people did but were too befuddled to say anything). Brave pioneers like HillBuzz, Texas Darlin, DrKate, AtlasShrugs, TheObamaFile came forward and led the charge to truth.

I thought I was one of the few who caught it. Matt slips them in whenever he can. I can’t tell if he enjoys the insinuation or fears making a full blown accusation. But it’s been there all along.
I don’t pick up on it because I am normally not “tuned in” to it – for the same reason, I thought “tea bagger” was someone who eschewed the powdered mixes. Although I always find “Obama leading from behind” lines funny because I always thought that was where his brain is. But I don’t deny it – I heard the Rock Hudson story years ago in college. In fact, when I first heard it, the rumor was his partner was Jim Nabors (who played Gomer Pyle.) Only later did I learn that the nitwit who told the story got it wrong, he should’ve said GEORGE NADER, another gay actor, who was a close friend of Rock Hudson.
As far as Obama – I don’t doubt you. It would certainly blow the media’s “Barack and Moochelle, World’s Bestest Married Couple” meme to hell. Just another lie they and he told us.
Since you have been writing about BO being gay it’s becoming more and more common to read comments on many web sites referring to the POTUS being gay. So…those of us who know do pick up on not only Drudge’s but other’s subtle little digs. It’s huge fun.

I don’t frequent Drudge enough to notice, and I definitely don’t watch Obama enough to pay attention to how he acts.
HOWEVER, I noticed last week that Rush kept posting this picture of Obama standing behind Bill Clinton. I wondered (and still do) if that was intentional.

I think the reason Rush runs THAT photo of Clinton and Obama is that the angle of it makes it look like Obama is giving Bill the finger from behind. Obama is clapping his hands and the camera caught his right hand up, but Clinton’s shoulder obscures enough of it to look like Obama is possibly giving the finger to Bill. Obama is left-handed. He’s also making a smarmy face. Clinton is getting all the attention and Obama is left to the side and I think Rush is trying to plant the image of Obama not liking that and saying “F-U”.
That’s what I think he’s doing.
Here’s a secret though: we all run photos that we just think are funny for some reason. If you notice, I tend to run the same photos of people I don’t like over and over again…and I run favorites of people I do like. I take the worst picture of a bad person and use it until an even worse picture appears. I use the best picture of a hero of mine until there is a better one.
Rush does this too. Anyone running a site does it. It’s so much more fun and easier than constantly looking for a new pic every time (which is what amateurs actually tend to do, until they do this long enough that they get into the groove of using favorite pictures).
Sometimes the only reason a shot is run over and overs because it amuses a writer.
Thanks for your take on this picture, Kevin. It wasn’t exactly keeping me up at night, but it was giving me pause. Any way you look at it, it’s not a very flattering picture of either man.
Yes, I have noticed that people use bad photos of people they don’t like and good photos of those they do. I particularly noticed it with all the pictures of President Bush. In fact, I even made a comment to a friend–Why do they always show President Bush with his mouth open and looking so silly? A purely rhetorical question, of course!

Straight girls have a knack for crushing on gay guys. One of the most surreal things that’s ever happened to me was when I was in my early 20s and in New York and I had a date with a guy who used to hang in posters all over my cousin Val’s bedroom when we were kids. She loved this guy, and he was on about three shows she watched in the 80s and early 90s. A Tiger Beat pinup. And he ended up being gay and I met him through friends in theater and we went out once. So I got to have the date she always wanted.
I have never figured out why women always dig gay guys. Back in the 70′s I went to a college that had 480 women and 30 guys. The two gay guys were always hanging with the girls and had to beating them off with sticks. Must be the sensitivity thing or your fashion sense.
Parkhill’s theory on why women are superior to men – For 50,000 years the male hunted, just hunted. The successful male brain developed a single goal linear brain. At the same time a successful female birthed fed and clothed the children, cooked, tended the fire, tended any farming or gathered food, and protected the children. Their brain developed to handle a myriad of tasks and goals. Proof – man argues one point with a woman, she responds from 10 different directions arguing on multiple levels. Man looses surrenders, and drowns his wounded ego in beer.
I can’t speak for all women but for myself I prefer men that are well groomed/dressed. And you have categories for men that fit that bill… married (his wife prefers him that way), gay or metrosexual. So it isn’t that uncommon for me to end up crushing on a gay man.
Plus some women either honestly don’t know a man is gay or they think they can change him.
Yep, I have picked up on it in the past. I’m sure Drudge is well aware of all the rumors surrounding Obama. Perhaps the reason he won’t out him is that he, in turn, would be outed (rumor has it that Drudge himself is gay, even though he was engaged to a woman at one point). Gawker did that to him before.

I’ve seen the same rumors about Drudge and wondered if he had any first-hand knowledge about B.O., either as a witness or through “connections” that he may not want to reveal. At any rate, I hope he makes Obama and his handlers nervous.

Clearly, the tape was leaked to drudge by Boston, especially since Mittens was ready to talk about the tape. What is intriguing is that Boston may have other tapes. I was listening to Chi radio today and the 5PM host was speculating about the tapes that Mittens might have.. such as the Michelle Obama 2008 tape.
Whoa, that’s a fascinating theory. I wouldn’t put it past Romney’s people, they proved in the past that they can get way inside the opposition’s loop. Like that leaking of their internals to an Obama staffer that Ulsterman talked about, which totally freaked O out and led to the infamous “you didn’t build that” off-script disaster.

No way.” I had heard all the gay rumors and was certain that Drudge had, too. Also, noticed manipulated bylines before unrelated to Obama and Love. Although until I read your article just now, I didn’t have a clue as to how ubiquitous these references were. You’ve totally turned the Drudge bylines into a fantastic treasure hunt. I bow to you. The UK press is much more into innuendo than the US press. Most american journalists today have no idea how to craft biting sarcasm into their writing. Dorothy Parker is the best example I can think of. She was pure genius. The whole British culture relishes the backhand comment and false praise. Churchill’s famous “V” for victory had a totally different, somewhat rude meaning when he did it with the palm toward him. There are two pictures where he is giving the “Agincourt” salute instead of the victory sign.

I’ve picked up a few allusions on Drudge, but wasn’t sure of the others {and my “go-to” gay couple here decided that they had to split and seek hetero mates – it’s a religious thing that some Pentecostals go through – but I don’t like to ask for clarification because it’s like being a stumbling block to what they see as their spiritual growth. Oh, Bonni of Bare Naked Islam made a comment at BNI that I wholeheartedly support – there are Nigerians crucifying cats, “in protest of the insult to” the pedophile they call Prophet. Bonni noted that the beheading videos don’t bother her so much anymore, it’s the MASSIVE CRUELTY to animals that sparks her rage – I’ve been involved in humane work for going on 42 years, and very often find myself not giving a damn about humans, {babies/little kids the exception, of course} but being spun up to absolute RAGE regarding torture/maiming/killing animals for “fun” …………………………………

I have spot-on gaydar, but my husband can’t see even the most fabulous men as being gay. It’s hilarious! We were at a crowded restaurant bar one evening, and some gay guy came over, parked next to hubby, and started conversing with him about football in the most intimate, obviously (to me and my daughter who was with us) gay way, and he was totally gob-smacked when we informed him, after we left, that that guy was totally hitting on him! And right in front of his family! “No way! He likes football!” As if no gay guys like football! I have to admit that I felt exactly, well almost, the same as if it had been a woman hitting on him! The only thing that made it better is that I know he wasn’t seeing it. So I controlled myself. I just think that you either possess the gaydar, or you don’t, and no amount of training will help. At least in my husband’s case.

Gay guys play this game. I see it all the time. They LOVE flirting with a straight guy who is oblivious. It’s kind of like playing chicken, to see how far they can go before the straight guy realizes what’s up. It’s an adrenaline rush for a lot of gay guys…and there’s always the chance he’ll respond.

If BHO is gay, and I do believe it, would the masses that killed Stevens know it? Would they be hating him and show it by hanging him in effegy, as they have? Is he in danger of like treatment, if they could get their hands on him?

I have personally seen Matthew Broderick here in Chicago at a bar called Sidetrack. He was in town doing some sort of show. Sidetrack is a gay bar, with lots of rooms. One of them is a dark room in the back under two stairwells. Broderick was there and was clearly into the guys who surrounded him. Straight guys do not behave like that.
I have no idea about SJP but I think these two might have a marriage like the Obamas: the woman is tough to deal with and had trouble finding a straight husband and the gay guy wants a beard so he could have a more successful career than he would have otherwise.
I’ve also seen Tim Curry, Alan Cummings, that trainer Bob from Biggest Loser, Cyndi Lauper, Congressman Aaron Schock, and Jake Gyllenhaal in Sidetrack back in the day. Sidetrack and its next door neighbor MiniBar get every gay guy or famous woman who is beloved by gays to visit when they come to Chicago.

Drudge’s Obama-Gaydar has been chronicled Down on the Pharm. I’ve paid particular notice and blog space to the stories pertaining to Obama’s trouble keeping the weight on.
Drudge’s collection of pics showing odd distribution of the weight, when Obama is gaining, are also remarkable.
Back in the 1980s we were treated to information about every polyp which was removed from Ronald Reagan’s colon, complete with color diagrams of said organ. We have been denied such information in the cases of Bill Clinton, (except Monica’s revelation of his herpes), and Barack Obama, possibly due to things more virulent.

Part of the problem for folks to ‘recognize’ gays, Kevin, is the “feminization” of culture – I can’t tell you how many men I’ve met over the years who, if one went by body language alone, you would SWEAR spend their free time as drag queens because they’re SO effeminate – what used to be called “flamers” {case in point – the ‘interviewer’ at the last gawdawful group interview I went on} who then mention they’re married to women. I don’t know if this is ‘metrosexuality’ taken to the point of parody, or if these men are just completely in denial about their orientation ……………………………. because of PC, it’s often uncomfortable to ask if a person is gay, due to their speech/mannerisms, depending on the circumstances one is meeting in ……………………………… I’m with you, though, that if a person is gay/lesbian, just BE HONEST ABOUT IT – if someone can do the job {whatever the job may be}, without putdowns {race/age/orientation} or harassment {hetero- OR gay}, then dammit, LET THEM DO THEIR JOBS. By the same token, DON’T send gays or women as ambassadors to “countries” that view gays as worthy of death, and women as less than men.

I refuse to uphold the mythology that muslim men aren’t anything more than gays in denial, for that’s all they are! They are the worst of hypocrites, publicly killing “romantic love” gays while they use eachother for sexual gratification, which is considered as normal as breathing to them (in action) yet publicly they pretend they are against this…it’s sick.
I don’t want to acknowledge in muslims their fake self-righteousness, they are NOT anti-gay, they ARE gay, but they are psychotic about the issue — they are taught to hate females since they are toddlers. Talk about an internal conflict! Sick!
Stevens was gay and had gay relationships openly and this would have to be punished by their stupid standards. I read he was sodomized with a knife.
I think this hypocritical aspect needs greater exposure. They fancy themselves self-righteous in this regard, just as when the women wear their slave cloths they believe themselves pious and self-righteous. Their false supremacism needs to be torn down by reality of facts.
Also did you know when they do genital mutilation to females, it’s to make their vaginal opening feel like a boy’s anus? It’s so tight that it causes excruciating pain for the female, and they form this pocket by sewing the excised labial area together, that the urine has to run through, that gets infected CONSTANTLY…then the men are affirmed about dirty females. Then when women have a baby they slice it open and then resew the mess into a nice tight anus-proxy again.
Sorry to describe this, but their behavior really revolves around this level of sick hatred they have for females.
