Democrats’ Persecution of Mormons Begins: Effort Underway to Depict Latter Day Saints As Virulent Racists
Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election strategy is “Occupy & Persecute”, which replaces 2008′s old-and-broke “Hope & Change”.
You know the Occupy part well, because you’ve seen it manifest in the Occupy Wall Street thugs — who are being trained and revved up to assail Willard “Mittens” Romney as the classic caricature of a Thurston Howell III-grade Wall Street Villain.
The Persecute half of the strategy is to demonize Mormons — as the people who belong to the Church of Latter Day Saints are commonly known (and what they will be called by the elite, agenda-driven media in the general election).
Though Romney has aggressively attacked his Republican opponents (with great media assistance) in the primaries, during a general election campaign the media would be rooting for Obama — and thus gunning for Romney. I have, to date, seen no evidence that Romney would be able to withstand an “Occupy & Persecute” Obama victory strategy (or effectively level attacks on Obama that would cut through the media bias and have the same impact on him that Romney’s attack machine has had on Gingrich or Santorum).
The most-used (and most-effective) weapon in the Democrats’ Alinsky-designed arsenal is to depict political opponents as racists. This is a tactic that succeeds in alienating millions of independent voters from whomever Democrats have aimed the Alinsky Death Star at that particular day. Part of depicting Mormons — and by extension, Romney himself — as racists involves the exclusion of blacks from the Mormon church until the 1970s.
Today, I spotted the first attempt by the Tolerant Left to power up the “RAAACIST!” accusations against Mormons and Romney — in a posting that’s popping up on a great number of Leftist Facebook pages and being shared aggressively by the Leftists I monitor in the social networking world.
The video above is the opening salvo in Democrats’ efforts to depict Mormons as racists. Below the fold, you’ll see comments left by Leftists regarding the video. I’m pleasantly surprised that there’s not a consensus amongst Leftists if this strategy will be effective and if the “Persecute” half of Obama’s two-pronged re-election strategy will work.
If you are a Romney supporter, please start thinking of ways to mitigate the damages from the “Occupy & Persecute” strategy now — because if Romney becomes the Republican nominee this is what will have to combat for the five months of the general election.

Laurie Bertram Roberts The point you all are missing is this shows soft racism which is what happens when people think things like behavior associated with blacks is bad and behavior associated with whites is good. Granted all students are lacking in knowledge about history quiz students of color and they will name more than two famous white people.12 hours ago · ·

Tim Turner Oh, yes. This is almost as bad as when they released the dogs on the marchers years ago. Give me a break! I’ll take you over to Alabama A&M or Alabama State and interview some black students and we will see if this so called “racism” is only prevalent at a mostly white school. You’ll find it’s about the same because most college kids are dumb as hell, as far as how the world works…black and white. These are college kids that don’t know jack, but they sure didn’t seem like they thought that they were the master race in this video. You want to know what really hurts civil rights? It’s when shit such as this gets passed around as being racist and people just stop ignoring real racism because they are sick to death of this shit. Try thinking for yourself every once in awhile and don’t just buy into everything that is pushed down your throat. This is not racist. If you think it is, you need to read a goddamn history book.12 hours ago · ·

Benton Captain Eo Honestly there is more ignorance than racism here. Sure there were a few remarks that can be taken as racist (ex. Fried chicken and grape juice), but much of the behavior of the students was influenced by the way in which the interviewer asked the questions. In fact, reading through some of the comments, I’d say there were more prejudice remarks made about other groups of people there than in the video (particularly Mormons). Here are a few points I think should be laid out:1) Do not confuse perspective with racism. Many of these kids grew up with a narrow perspective and, as a result, appear racist. Their comments bring about offense unintentionally. Whereas racists will insult due to their own prejudice.
2) Just because many of the students could not name or go into detail about members of the Civil Rights movement of the 60′s does not mean they should be classified as “racists” and put into the same category as the destructive terrorism of the KKK.
3) As for the lack of people who mentioned the interviewer actually being white, maybe they thought it would be rude to ask or point it out? What if they thought he was part-black? If the interviewer was part-black (yet identified himself as being black) and had many white features, don’t you think it would be insulting for someone to question his race? I find that when people try to go around and play “race detective”, they cause a lot more harm than they think, particularly to those of us with a mixed heritage.
4) I am not justifying the students’ ignorance, but rather pointing out that this example really isn’t “racist”. Also it is important to understand the definition of what is “racist” before accusing others of practicing racism.12 hours ago · ·

Aiymie Lazar The most offensive thing about this video was the painting of the white man to look like a black man. Why not just get a black man to do the interviews? Or allow the white man to do them, as a white man? Why did his race matter, at all? Beyond that, I’m not sure why ANYONE would be surprised that random people on the street (or college campus) is woefully lacking in their knowledge of American history… try asking them about current American affairs – beyond the entertainment industry – and you’ll get just as many confused, blank stares.11 hours ago · ·

Bonnie Crockett Yet another silly and irrelevant post. Being Liberal, I’m starting to lose faith in you. I don’t for a minute think that racism no longer exists in this country, but this video proves nothing. The makers of the video clearly had an agenda with their painted interviewer and their obvious edits. As for the ignorance of the students, (1) the questions were a set-up to begin with, and (2) I am sure you could find college students all over this country who are ignorant of black history, women’s history, American political history, you name it. All this video proves is that there are a lot of ignorant people on college campuses these days, both behind and in front of the camera. Mindy Sebring I consider myself exceptionally open minded (obviously liberal) and of course against racism. But I wasn’t horribly offended by this video. As many people said above, they people may seem a li’l ignorant – but no more so than the large majority of people on the planet. Would I have noticed the guy was in black-face? Prolly not, ’cause “black” comes in a wide variety of hues/shades. The “black guy who acts like a white guy” question was valid in our country – but maybe not in other countries. Valid because when the question is asked, the average person (of any color) is going to hear “act like a white guy” and picture a clean-cut, middle-to-upper-middle-class guy of some inteligence. Does that mean that all (or even a majority) of white guys act that way? No. But if I said “acting like pig” we think of a sloppy, dirty thing – when anyone who loves pigs will tell u they’re clean animals who don’t sweat. [And don't even go there with the 'How dare u compare being black to being a pig' - obvoiusly not my point.] My point is just that certain phrases may bring something to mind in our culture that may or may not be true. Not to say that I don’t believe racism is alive & well in America, just that this video was not an obvious portrayal of how bad it really is.9 hours ago · -

Keegan Rank I actually go to BYU, but originally call Oregon my home (giving me some pretty damn liberal tendencies), and this is just a great example of ignorance and pretty tasteless humor from the guy that filmed it. You could ask college kids on most American college campuses and get the same answers. Unfortunately their ignorance appears to be a lot greater because in Utah, most Mormons, and especially BYU students are pretty sheltered. I think it is more of a commentary on how Americans view Black History Month in general and how little emphasis we put on it. Maybe some more after school specials could help?8 hours ago · ·

Nicholas Carroll I attended BYU from 1997 through 2000 and got my degree in International Politics. I was among the minority of students who attended who is not LDS (nor ever was). The university has over 30,000 students and I was amazed by how many talented people there were (I saw a few student-written plays that were amazing) and how intelligent the students were. Famous alumni include 49ers Quarterback Steve Young, the director and star of “Napoleon Dynamite”, the writer of the “Twilight” series, and a few presidential Candidates / members of Congress / Senators, etc. This video can’t be taken as a representative sample of students at BYU. Yes, there were a lot of sheltered students who attended BYU. Its not a very racially diverse campus. The stats are something like 85% white, 90% Republican, and 98% Mormon. It was a lonely place for someone who wasn’t Republican or Mormon. However, I did date a lady from the Dominican Republic, who had a dark skin tone. I never heard any negative comments from anyone. Mormons are generally earnest and likable people. Don’t blame them because their church in North America is predominantly white or that Utah is a predominantly caucasian state.
After my experience at BYU, I moved to Washington, D.C. and absolutely loved the diversity I found there. I could never live in a place without diversity again. But BYU was a great experience and I’m glad that I went. The students are incredibly smart. Don’t take this video clip at face value. Anyone can pick the most outrageous video clips of a few people to edit into a video to portray an organization with a lot of people to be something horrible.

Nick Leppala U can’t compare ignorance to racism. I come from northern Minnesota- very few people from the Iron Range are anything but Scandinavian. The first time I ever saw racism was when I went to Louisiana and it was directed at me. No amount of political correctness can make certain areas safe for a white guy. Now let’s talk about the “unfair campaign” which basically states that whites can’t see racism and are born inherently racist for advantages the color of our skin gives us. Why should anyone try to make me feel bad for being white? I’ve never put anyone down for their ethnicities.6 hours ago · ·

TJ Saccio While yes, teh ignorance of american college students is atrocious, you do have to give them credit, on SOME LEVEL for honestly seemign to lack a “color filter”. If only 3 people noticed he wasn’t black, could that actually mean that we as americans are no longer paying that much detail to race but rather what the person is saying? While this video doesnt speak much to the level of intelligence or knowledge in america’s youth, in certainly does speak to their lack or racist feelings. (that does not include their impressions but jsut because i pull my eyes back and talk like an asian does not mean that i am, in any way, prejudiced against asians or any other race. SlaveRebellion DeSedas …notice how all people of all races including whites are for the anti-racist cause, but it’s only exclusively white people who are railing against the notion of racism being rampant and exposed as such?…the kind of white people with virtually all-white friends lists or friends in real life… You have to have an ignorant disregard for the victims and epidemic of racism in “america” to even try to blunt the effective exposure and pursuit of it… or an ignorance of history to know that mormonism is traditionally very anti-black, not to mention lily-white… I’m talking about the whites who reject black interests, issues, and ancestral manifestation. This is real talk, muthafuckaz!! XD Now, before you go with your cliches and exaggerations, try something new other than “you’re racist!” for pointing out the problem and chief perpetrators of this way-too-long-running systematic structure of RACISM in this colony USA… Nobody has to talk about Canadian whites BECAUSE THERE IS NOT THAT MAGNITUDE A HISTORY AND RESIDUAL PRESENT LIKE THERE IS HERE IN THIS SYSTEM USA. Charlie Thompson Its funny how there are my white people complaining about this than anyone, do you feel guilty or something? This whole thing is meant to be edgy and prove a point that Utah is sheltered and knows hardly anything about other cultures. Sure this might happen at other schools, but with the moving around I have done I would have to say Utah is the most ignorant but in a non threatening way. Todays media does nothing to prevent the stereotypes we live with, and unless you have actually met an African American, which many of those in Utah haven’t, then thats what there opinion is based off of. They worst part is that because that is the only influence for there culture, many African Americans I have met in Utah fit stereotypes perfectly, its sad but true. I would have to say that most LDS (the politically correct term for Mormons) members fit stereotypes too, everyone is talking about ignorance and racism and using a derogatory term toward LDS members, and how is that fair? Like mentioned above, I hate the pot calling the kettle black, when I see reverse racism everyday that is gotten away with because people feel guilty about what there family may or may not have done hundreds of years ago. Most LDS members are not racist at all, in fact a good portion of Polynesians are LDS due to there great family values and willingness to help others. The only thing that keeps the ignorance going is the media pointing out stereotypes with things like MTV and BET, rap in general is causing these stereotypes.2 hours ago · -

I certainly do not agree with the dogma of Mormons as they deny the divinity of Jesus Christ. However, Mormons seem to be very moral people. There are plenty of reasons not to vote for Mittens Romney, but his religion is not one of them. I am Catholic and could have voted for either of the two still in the race. But I voted for the Lutheran, Ron Paul. I certainly do not agree with the heresies of Martin Luther either, but Ron Paul will not ram Lutheranism on me like Obama is ramming birth control down the Catholic Church.
I need to correct you on a point. Mormons absolutely DO NOT deny the divinity of Jesus Christ. To quote our first article of faith, "We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost." Jesus Christ is divine as the son of God and our Saviour and Redeemer.
We do believe that Jesus Christ is the literal son of God.
Doing my part to correct misinformation.
What is "literal son of God"? Jesus is God and of the same nature of the Father fir whom everything was made.
Mormons believe that God (or Heavenly Father), Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are three distinct entities. One in purpose, but not one in body.
Mormon.org is a good place to find out what Mormons are all about.
Jesus is God the Son, the only begotten Son of God. Satan is not a son of God, counter to what Mormons also believe. http://en.fairmormon.org/Jesus_Christ/Brother_of_…
Only when we come to Christ through faith are we given the power to become the sons of God (John 1:12). Until then we are not reconciled to him and are merely His creation, not His child.
Romney might be a good person, really…but America is tired of rich people taking the White House like the WH belong to elites and not the people. The Romneys has been running for president since before I was born. The White House do not belong to families.
Honestly, the religion is a weird cult and I question the level of devotion any intelligent person has to it. Can Romney possibly believe in and support all of the weirdness that is the Mormon faith? It's hard to respect someone who doesn't understand what he professes to believe.
Harry Reid is a Mormon.
Harry Reid is not running for president. You know Muslims, Jews and Christians believe in the true God, Mormons believe in extraterretrial beings invented by a lunatic.
I'm not a fan of Mormonism. The problem I have with it is they have an "extra" book along with the Bible. Many of my Christian friends, when put to it, consider it a cult.
They are generally good honest hardworking people who are devoted to their families and their communities and take care of themselves. I don't think I've ever met a Mormon I didn't like. My father was Mormon, my mother was Lutheran . My parents took us kids to temple. (Remember, back in the day everyone went to church) We weren't terribly excited about it. My brother and I ended up going to an evangelical Christian church with a neighbor. That seemed to fit. My sister wasn't much of a church goer.
Will there be Mormons in heaven? That's not for me to decide.
I wouldn't have a problem voting for a Mormon for president.
There are some 40 million catholics in the USA(26 millions who vote). There are some 10 million mormons(7 million who vote). Rick Santorum is Catholic. Mitt Romney is a Mormon…enough said….
