David "Popcorn" Kernell Trial Watch: Day Four
What’s the latest you are hearing about David “Popcorn” Kernell’s trial in Knoxville, Tennessee?
This is the Obama operative, and son of disgraced Tennessee Rep Mike “Terrible Father” Kernell, on trial for cyber crimes, identity theft, wire fraud, and hindering an FBI investigation in his attack on Governor Sarah Palin and her family in October of 2008.
He faces 50 years in prison, and we hope he gets every one of them.
What’s the update on the case today — any word on what will happen next week?

Well, Sarah testified today, according to C4P.
I do hope he gets all 50 years – let that be a lesson to any other punk who thinks he can get away with it – especially if he’s the offspring of a Donk pol.
50 years seems extreme. A few years would be more then enough to teach the brat a lesson.
Yes, Kernell is a jackass. And yes, he pulled a dumb stunt. But don’t you think a $20K fine and a couple thousand hours of community service would have severe enough complications on his pocketbook, social life and future? The punishment should fit the crime: Nobody was scarred for life, nobody was irreparably damaged, hundreds of people didn’t lose their life savings. For Pete’s sake, child molesters and some murderers only get five years, and you want this kid to serve 50? For being a snotnose Liberal punk? Man, if I ever run afoul of the law, I sure hope you aren’t on my jury.
WRONG!
People were irreparably harmed.
Palin’s character was questioned from the 1st days of the campaign and many people believed the lies This contributed to the negative opinion of her and consciously and unconsciously figured in to voting decisions.
When this smear is added to the rest of them, people tend to believe them.
The left has been running unchecked for way too long. Let this jerk’s sentence serve notice that the right is no longer easy prey .. from now on, there will be a price.
I think that there was harm done to Bristol Palin and I think a jail term of even 1 year is appropriate
California granny:
It’s precisely this kind of leniency that makes other kids think it’s okay to get away with it – especially affluent ones.
He committed felony offenses. He will have to spend time in prison for it.
The more, the merrier -
Er….. jail years that is…….
From what I understand he faces a couple of charges related to obstructing the FBI and interfering with an investigation. Needless to say the Feds and the secret service don’t take kindly to having people do things like not answer questions quickly or attempt to erase computer files. Those two charges are going to be his biggest problem because they really throw the book at people who mess with the Feds, Martha Stewart for example.
Anyway, he deserves to be held accountable for his actions. Naturally people will blame Palin if he is, but from what little I can get from the news, it looks like his real problems will actually stem from stepping on Fed toes.
The consequences of what he did to Palin, to her kids, to the danger he put them in, all the way to possibly influencing an election, are pretty serious and he needs to pay for that. But legally speaking, it’s actually the inconvenience his little ‘prank’ caused the Feds that will cook his goose.
Remember that when people try to blame Palin for the consequences he will face.
Not just the Palins, ~although that’s enough~ but also their friends. There has been testimony by some of Sarah’s contacts/friends that they received horrible/harassing emails due to the hacking. I’ve had my email hacked. I ended up having to close it down. It was not fun. I lost clients over it. Imagine being one of Sarah’s friends and receiving threatening/hateful emails because of it.
He apparently thinks Bristol is “not his type”:

Smart ass punk.
I hope he doesn’t think that his cell-mates will take kindly to a remark like that …
Shows what a jackass he is. Here he is facing a criminal trial with a possible 50 year sentence and he flips off like that?
The little snot deserves to get the book thrown at him. I hope he cries in prison.
Comments like that show an arrogance about his situation. Perhaps he already knows daddy will fix this for him?
I meant Kernell’s comment, not yours, Cat. It looked wrong after I posted it.
No, not at all. You were clear to me!
I take back my earlier post. Had no idea about the vile Bristol treatment. Fifty years, you say, Magistrate? Nonsense, lock him up and toss the key into the moat.
BOHICA, Davey boy.
Lol!
Well’ Mr. Smart ass punk “once he’s in prison” will find out real fast, that not being someones type will have ~~NO BEARING TO WHOM WILL FIND HIM TO BE THEIR TYPE~~ ,,,”lol”
“prison life” that’s a tough way to learn humility..!
Since it is a federal case, if found guilty and given jail time, he will probably end up in a Federal Prison so it will not be so bad for him.
Regardless, I do believe that 50 years is too much but he should get some time. It might help him reflect on what he has done and make him a better person.
Let’s get something strait about being lock-up at any facility– no one is exempt from being a target!
Male or female, it’s there, and it happens and it ain’t pretty..”
I hope he get’s aleast 20 yr’s and time served 10– that would be a Fair and Just.
Punk is the mildest word that I can think of, but I’m restraining myself.
His type will be a tattoo’d big ole Bubba, followed by some big scary toothless klansman type.
If there is any justice, they will pass him on to the Chicano gangs when they’re done with him.
This guy is a scummy little criminal punk, but I still wouldn’t wish prison rape on him.
I would!
Speaking of court cases, have you boyz given any thought to providin some serious coverage of the Blago trial (if it even happens and his legal moves don’t frighten O into getting it quashed in advance)?
I saw part of an interview with Sarah on Fox New after ( I think) she testified. She spoke honestly and emotionally about the experience. Apparently part of what was stolen from her email were pictures of Trig, which then got passed around and photoshopped into awful images of that sweet baby boy and then passed around on the internet even more. She sounded a bit shaky when speaking about that. You could tell she really was upset by that in particular.
I don’t think the LSM has made us all completely aware of what horrible things were done as a result of this amoral, heinous person.
I tried to find the video. I’ll keep looking.
That detail I hadn’t heard — it’s beyond vile.
Will there perhaps be a civil suit launched in addition to the criminal?
These Kernells are going to be popping … pop, pop, pop …
Yep…his Kernell will most likely be popped!
Please do and post it here. I missed the entire thing and it needs to be spread around so people can see what crime he really committed. I’m sure most media will and are downplaying the entire case.
Try Greta’s On the Record for the video.
The best his defence could come up with is boy-will-be-boys and he was just pulling a “harmless” prank on the GOP Vice-President candidate. Take a look at this-
“I received (e-mails) many a day, violent, sexual, threatening … throughout the course of the (2008 presidential) campaign,” Frye testified.

Not so “harmless” now is it, asshole?

Enjoy your freedom wjile it lasts, David.
realistically, i’d like to see this jerk get at least 10 yrs, but i know judges will take into account the fact that he has a clean record, first offense etc..of course theres always time off for good behavior and maybe daddys influence will come into play.. i really think we will be disappointed in whatever time he serves!
Pop Kernell for his part ought to get roasted with a major civil suit.

Punks..Liberal trolls reality show.
O/T not about the trial, but something I’ve noticed this last week in reading the blogs I frequent…
There has been a shift from saying euphemisms about the President such as, “misdirection” or “mischaracterization of the facts” to outright saying, “He’s lying.” I’ve seen at least three blogs that have NEVER gone that far post either the word Lying or Liar on SEVERAL posts.
We’ve all known he lies through his teeth about anything and everything, and I think others know/think that as well, but until now, they’ve tried to be very politically correct in how they phrase it. That seems to be changing.
Has anyone else noticed that?
I’m seeing it a lot. I’m also seeing a lot less people defending him. They either say nothing or agree that he is a liar.

C4P has reports and vid, including a 5-minute street interview with Sarah just after she came out of the courthouse after giving testimony.
Compare the ABC video in the post to the raw footage of Sarah talking to the interview to see the BLATANT bias of the media.
Sample: the ABC reporter thinks the lede needs to be to inform his viewers that this is Palin country, implying that any verdict of guilty is not because popcorn is, in fact, guilty.
But because it’s Palin country.
Liberal victimhood is legion.
ugh that pisses me off. how is “this is palin country” a phrase for a reporter to say??
i.e. it’s the South and therefore they are racists, anti-Obama.
We’re conservative and have MORALS. There’s a difference. You can keep your IMMORAL liberal views miss reporter lady.
I wouldn’t exactly call Knoxville Palin country. So obviously ABC is keeping up it’s high standards of journalistic (lack of) excellence.
My mom was a juror in a murder trial several years ago. When she read the “reports” of the trial, she wondered if they were in the same courtroom as her. That was the first time she realized media bias.
I thought she rocked it: Palin was composed as she underwent cross-examination by defense attorney Wade Davies. Davies, in turn, was not overly aggressive, although he quarreled a bit with the former governor when he said the answer to her Yahoo! security question – Where she met her husband – was no great secret.
“It wasn’t a secret to me,” Palin said. “I don’t know if the rest of the world knew.”
Davies responded, “It was common knowledge.”
“Maybe it is now,” Palin replied.
She testified about 30 to 35 minutes before leaving the witness stand.
Asked outside court if she thought the charges against Kernell were excessive, Palin, accompanied by her husband Todd, told The Associated Press, “I don’t know, but I do think there should be consequences for bad behavior.”
Asked whether she thought community service was punishment enough rather than prison, she said, “That’s up to the judge.”

50 years, say I. Clean record or not. The damage to an American citizen and her family and friends, let alone a public servant, is devastating. Zero tolerance. Enough of these spoiled brats getting away with “pranks.”
Plus, it will look like he gets some kind of break because he’s the son of a Donk pol. It will have the appearance of leniency because of his connections. An ordinary Joe Blow from the street in this trial wouldn’t get such a consideration, would he?
How is this any different from the break-in at the Watergate Hotel? This is the modern version.
No soap on a rope for this guy!
This guy was looking to destroy her just like “the little old couple” that happened to pick up Newt Gingrich on his cellphone (on their vehicular-whatever the-hell it was – I don’t have one). Nothing happened to them did it?? Was it because….of their political bent?? I don’t give a rat’s ass what he gets in prison – but if I were betting, I bet he doesn’t get anything other than probation. I used to live there, and my money’s on – paid off jury.
By comparison Watergate was harmless. This was harmful towards private citizens.
Considering there are murderers who do less than fifty years, I’d personally give him fifteen to twenty-five, no possibility of parole until fifteen. Not that I’d exactly be upset if he did get fifty…
I just can’t wrap my mind around such a severe punishment. I think minimal time in prison and hefty retribution.
He obstructed federal investigators. That alone brought down Martha Stewart. And this punk has a lot worse going for him with the hacking, ID theft, and what appears to be malicious intent.
He’s going to serve at least 5 years, cumulative, if found guilty of all felonies.
Yeah, you don’t mess with the feds.
He attempted to influence a US presidential election. That is quite a big deal.
as long as he spends at least 1 or 2 years in jail, then I would say yes, justice has been served. 2 years in jail is fair for what he did.
and no parole for those 2 years
..agree..
I personally would like to see him do community service for the next several years along with some jail time. Sitting in prison and doing nothing is too good for this “spoiled little rich kid”. I think mandatory manual labor for the next several years might be good for this arrogant sociopath.
I also heard Sarah Palin tell Greta tonight that she first learned about what had happened on television. Apparently some news outlet had released info. that this kid had stolen from her e-mail account. They didn’t name the news outlet but I think they should be held accountable too. Isn’t this criminal on their part too?
the LSM? accountable?
*laughing uncontrollably*
What can I say? I guess we all have our dreams and fantasies.
*shakes head*
Ladies, you talk of leniency for him because he’s white, affluent, and has political connections.
Bad idea all around.
He’s an adult and if he is found guilty, he goes to prison. No ifs, ands or buts.
This punk has no remorse. And you want to show him mercy? He spits on us and on what we stand for. He has nothing but contempt for the rule of law, as his actions and subsequent statements have indicated. He deserves no special consideration!
And for the cherry on top, I would forbid him to own or have access to a computer.
OT…
Patriots, you HAVE TO SEE THIS VIDEO!!!
http://remembernovember.com/
Share it with your friends and neighbors. Pass it on. Let everyone see it and KNOW this is our moment. If we do not stand up now, we will lose the greatest country ever known to a bunch of thug socialistic marxist communist wanna-bes who sold half of the nation a bill of goods that they lied about to get elected.
Pass it on!
It was a stupid prank that went awry… why spend 50K a year to house this kid in prison, when he’s a first time offender who’s already learned a valuable lesson… 30 days and probation and you’ll end up with a productive citizen that doesn’t need to be supported by taxpayers… 50 years is the same as a death sentence
