DAILY DOOM ANTIDOTE: Ten Things to Know About Denver Debate Last Night — 10/4/2012

Posted on October 4, 2012 by Kevin DuJan // Featured Content, Open Threads

[ Click above for the dates and locations of the remaining debates:  October 11th in Kentucky, October 16th in New York, and October 22nd in Florida ]

Last night I did a Live-Stream-Transcript of the presidential debate from Denver, which you can checkout HERE if you want to catch up.  Megan Fox and I did a post-debate recap show too that’s a quick listen this morning…click HERE for that.

I want to hear all about what YOU thought of the debate in comments below, especially anything your coworkers or friends and family say about Barack Obama’s performance today. In short, Mitt Romney did what he needed to do…which was to stand there and look presidential and show people that, yes, watching him for the next four years would be a good thing and would push aside all of the weirdness and malaise we’ve experienced lately.  It was very much a Reagan-Carter moment for a lot of people and I know of a few Obama supporters here in Chicago who went on TV and said that after last night’s performance there is no way they are voting for “The One”.

Here are my Top Ten Things to Know About the Denver Debate Last Night:

10. Obama was injected with amphetamines or something before the debate and they wore off about 20 minutes in.  Here in Chicago, word on the street for the last month has been that Valerie Jarrett was specifically tasked with getting Obama off coke and other drugs before the debates so that he would not embarrass himself on stage for an hour and a half.  So, word is that Obama’s been detoxing since at least September.  This explains how haggard he’s looked and how prickly he’s acted for a while now…it’s what addicts look and act like when they’re cut off from their drugs.  Remember that a President can have whatever drugs he wants.  The Secret Service are not there to keep the president from breaking the law, they are just there to keep him alive.  Obama’s main drug suppliers are the junior staffers who work in the White House who go to Lafayette Park and buy him whatever he wants…and he also gets special deliveries from his friend Bobby Titcombe in Hawaii, who brings him “fish and poi” to the White House (that’s Hawaiian slang for “weed and coke”).  To get through the almost two hours of being on TV, Obama looks like he needed a big injection of beta-blockers and/or amphetamines.  If you noticed at the beginning of the debate he was talking fast, acting erratic, and blinking like CRAZY he was still jazzed up by whatever they gave him.  About twenty minutes later, it seems like the adrenaline in his system from being in front of the crowd might have caused the uppers to wear off…and his energy levels collapsed after that.  By the end of the debate, Obama looked like he was aching for a new fix.  This could be the reason Michelle Obama rushed him off stage and skipped the traditional “let’s waive to the crowd for a while” schtick. She could tell he needed to get out of sight because he totally lost it out there.

9. Obama was rumpled and sloppy and looked like he slept in a halfway house last night.  Remember when Chris Matthews used to wax on almost pornographically about Obama’s creased pants and how sharp he looked?  That was a long time ago, sister.  The man who was out there on stage last night looked like he got his clothes from a consignment shop or the lost and found bin of a discount dry cleaners.  He was rumpled and honestly looked like he might smell a little of urine.  What on Earth was he doing immediately prior to arriving for the debate?  Mitt Romney looked crisp, prepared, and responsible.  Barack Obama was a walking mess.  It was almost disrespectful to the audience that he showed up looking so disheveled.

8. Obama smirked a lot, behaved like a bratty child at times, and when he wasn’t speaking stared down at the floor like he was thinking “What the heck am I even doing here?”.  This was just weird.  When he wasn’t talking, Obama would droop his head down like he was napping for a while.  Sometimes he would giggle or smirk.  When Romney would say something criticizing the bizarre and destructive things that Obama has done as president, he’d smirk or grimace.  I didn’t see a president up there as much as I saw a bratty child who was making faces while being scolded by the teacher.

7. Moderator Jim Lehrer did a piss-poor job, clearly favored Obama, and yet Obama was STILL trounced. Lehrer repeatedly interrupted Romney but didn’t do that to Obama.  It turns out that Obama got to talk for a full four minutes longer than Romney.  When Obama was stumbling and in trouble, Lehrer rescued him.  Romney had to actually debate Lehrer many times when Lehrer pressed interrogations of him.  Obama was treated with kid gloves as usual.  One of the best moments of the night was when Romney told Lehrer that he’d end the subsidies to PBS and Lehrer recoiled like a vampire doused in holy water.  I just loved that.  At the end, Lehrer oddly remarked that he had not done a good job as moderator…and Obama jumped in and said “You were fabulous, Jim!” and Romney just shook his head at the two of them.

6. Mitt Romney had one of the best and most destructive lines I have ever heard in a debate:  when he compared Obama talking to things his five sons would say when they were small children and tried to get him to believe their lies.  This was wonderful.  I’ve never seen a grown man humiliated this way before…being compared to small children and not being able to give any sort of retort because it was totally accurate.  Romney did this after Obama kept insisting that Romney would raise taxes by $5 trillion or some nonsense.  Romney kept saying that Obama was wrong and told him to stop repeating that.  Obama wouldn’t, so Romney had to finally tell him that just because he keeps saying something doesn’t make it true…and then Romney said, “you know, I raised five boys and they’d often keep saying something until they thought I’d believe it and it never worked”.  Obama put his head down after that and didn’t try that $5 trillion thing again.  Romney totally scolded Obama and Obama had no retort for it.  It. Was. Epic.

5. Without a TelePrompTer for a crutch (that he has depended on for four years) Obama could barely string two sentences together without rambling, looking out into the crowd lost, and seeming disoriented.  Remind me again why this man was supposed to be the greatest orator in the world and the most eloquent and soaring political speech-giver?  Because he was a dull stumbling bumbler last night.  I don’t even think Chris Matthews or Keith Olbermann could masturbate to that debate performance Obama gave.  Maybe Anderson Cooper, though.

4. Obama’s hands were skeletal, his face was twitching, his eyes had deep dark circles around them, and he generally looked like death walking. In Chicago, most people on the ground think Obama has ‘The Slims”, which is black slang here for AIDS.  I personally think he has Parkinson’s disease…which is actually related to cocaine abuse in black men.  Obama shakes, his face twitches, and he’s gaunt these days.  This is more than just severe drug abuse in the White House…this is illness.  The man is not well, and it’s showing.  Is it ‘The Slims” or is it Parkinson’s?  You be the judge.  But someone with a five-star chef living downstairs, access to any kind of food that he wants, and nonstop vacations and “golf outings” should not look like a desiccated corpse walking around on stage in Denver.  Something is seriously wrong.  Of course, his medical records are kept hidden and not released to the public (unlike any president before him).  I used to volunteer a lot with AIDS charities here in Boystown and would deliver holiday meals to shut-in AIDS patients who looked more robust and alive than Barack Obama did last night.  Minitrue won’t talk about it…or even mention it…but THAT was not a healthy man up there.  That was someone who will be in a wheelchair or be bed-ridden soon.

3. Michelle Obama (dressed up like Grimace from McDonaldLand) stormed the stage when the debate was done and angrily dragged her husband offstage as quickly as possible, upset with his poor performance. I think Michelle Obama was MAD.  She knew Obama lost big.  She practically dragged him off the stage.  There is no doubt in my mind she shouted at him the whole limo ride back to wherever they went afterwards.  I’m sure after that Obama called Reggie Love on the phone to blubber to him about how mean Michelle is being.  Their whole relationship is based on the simple fact that Michelle married him to be his beard and that he then would give her everything she wants in life as she keeps his secrets.  Last night, he didn’t keep his end of the bargain up.  And Michelle was STEAMED!  And did you catch the bit in the beginning where Obama called her “Sweetie” when he talked about it being their anniversary. It was so strange and forced…more awkward than Al Gore’s bizarre attempt to kiss Tipper in 2000.  This was totally something consultants told him to do so he’d seem human and appeal to voters…but it just ended up looking icky.

2. Even the Ministry of Truth (Minitrue, for short) that is the corrupt, vintage media had to admit that Obama’s performance was a disaster.  Chris Matthews had to admit Obama bombed.  Andrew Sullivan called it a disaster.  Other members of Minitrue claimed “it was a tie or draw”.  Yah, right.  Obama’s sorry, disheveled clock got CLEANED last night and everyone knew it.  I have no idea how they will spin this but know today will be enjoyable watching them try.  I doubt even Minitrue can rewrite history enough to award Obama a retroactive win here.

1. Romney succeeded in drawing a stark contrast between himself and Obama and offered voters a real choice that did not present Obama in a good light. Mitt Romney has really grown on me.  For an hour and a half I watched a man take every punch that Jim Lehrer threw at him.  Obama was there too, but he was kind of irrelevant.  Lehrer was fighting for Obama and trying to land the punches on Romney that Obama just couldn’t.  So Romney had to hold his own against TWO people…with one of them being the moderator.  And Romney succeeded impressively.  He is knowledgeable, quick on his feet, and came across as reassuringly competent.  And he was handsome, too!  I’d never really noticed that before…but he’s very handsome, strong-looking, and is the kind of president that in a movie or TV show would triumph over space aliens and successfully manage whatever natural disaster is coming.  He exudes confidence and instills in me a belief that with him at the helm we can get everything back on track.  Meanwhile, Barack Obama looked like a low-rent drug addict who was jonesing for his next fix and was totally disinterested in being there.

It was a fun debate to watch.  I think it convinced a lot of people that it’s time to let Obama go so that he can retire to that estate in Hawaii that Penny Pritzker and his other supporters are buying for him.  Perhaps he needs a visit to Betty Ford before he moves to Honolulu but his time in the White House is limited at this point and everyone, including himself, knows it.

*****************************************************

Can you collect some good reactions to the debate below in comments? I am especially interested to see if any of the Tokyo Rose conservative writers out there like Erik Erikson, George Will, or Peggy Noonan attempt to breed Eeyores today and claim Obama did well or that Romney didn’t do “well enough”.  These guys usually like to write something contrarian just to get attention…but they are also paid a lot of money to demoralize conservatives at every turn, so I wonder if they will be out doing damage control on Obama’s behalf today.

What else are people buzzing about today?

I’d especially love ground reports of local reactions to what happened last night.

What else is on your mind today?

This is an open thread, as is usual for your Daily Doom Antidote.

Quite frankly, I don’ see how any conservative with a working brain could listen to the MSM narrative anymore.

My biggest fear about Romney, that he would be John McCain Junior was completely wrong. Not only do I think he’s run a very good campaign, he completely blew away Obama’s main myth, that he’s a great speaker last night. Maher was right, he looked like he needs his teleprompter. I thought Obama looked dazed and confused, and from the leftist reaction to last night I can see I wasn’t the only one Tingles probably cried himself to sleep last night..

I was already convinced Romney would win the election, but after last night’s beat down of our Fraud-In-Chief I’m starting to feel it.

I got a really snarky idea. How about giving one of these to the progressives you know for Christmas? Hee, hee, hee.

I am starting to feel it as well. I also just heard an audio clip of Al Gore saying that the reason that Obama did not do well might be due to the fact that Obama flew into Denver that afternoon and the high altitude might have been the reason for his poor performance. You cant make this stuff up.

Did you know that Al Gore attempted to purchase an Australian film showing a fire storm so that he could use it in his speeches? The man who owns the film said no, because the fire had nothing to do with climate change… oh yes, there is justice in this world!!

Agree – it’s a totally bogus argument. Event if it was legit, the campaign has had five years to learn that lesson and could have floorplanned “altitude adjustment” into his schedule.

The atlitude excuse is BOGUS! I think the fact that the crowd couldn’t cheer his big EGO on helped deflate his demeanor. Without the adulations of his cheering minions he showed himself to be the empty chair that he is.
That being said, at his rally at Sloans Lake today he was fired up, because he had his cheering crowd!
He has been in Colorado constantly. I was told (haven’t confirmed this) but at a campaign stop in Pueblo, CO last month he spoke to a group of union members. It was reported to me that he told the crowd that in his second term he wants to do what he did to GM to other industries.
I hope the video exists so that people can see for themselves that nationalising business and industry is communism. They will no longer be able to doubt his marxist plans for this nation.

    Kevin,
I may have to print out those top ten things and read them over and over until the election -You my man are awesome!!!
Last night was amazing. This was the October surprise we were promised from many. I actually turned on MSNBC to watch the reaction and it was as if Mitt Romney’s dog (the one on the roof) walked into the MSNBC studios and stole all the hosts doughnuts and coffee and bit them on the leg on the way out. Chris Matthews had a complete meltdown on air and I wondered if someone was going to call for the crash cart to resuscitate him. This morning I heard several of the MSNBC hosts admit that Obama has lived in a bubble for 4 years and looked stunned that someone actually challenged him. Van Jones admitted defeat. Bill Maher said “Obama does look like he needs a teleprompter”. Michael Moore said “this is what you get when you have John Kerry as a debate coach”
People are comparing this performance to Reagan’s performance and some say this was better than Reagan. Regardless this was the most stunning and exciting night in a long time. The liberal media is responsible for much of Obama’s failure last night. for 4 years they have drooled, gloated, and adored Obama’s every move. How sad that it took this debate for the truth to come out.
Thanks again Kevin you are my hero!!!

Well, that was odd. President Obama’s stylistic strategy during Wednesday night’s debate seemed to be to try to stay right above the rancor, to appear dignified, presidential. The problem with that approach is that the line between dignified and presidential and anodyne and weak is the width of a cat’s hair. Romney, on the other hand, went on the attack, interrupting and rambling on, which to some will read as confidence and command of the facts, even if many of his statements were riddled with the, um, nonfactual.
HOW ARE THEY STILL IN BUSINESS????

Perhaps you need to read the ‘transcripts’. It was Obama who was pulling words out of the hat; and making a ‘ramble’ with them – to the point of being, incoherent. Mitt needed no ‘coaching’ from Jim Leher – as did Obama – who on more than a few occasions was caught in some mangled ‘thought net’; whereby Leher attempted a rescue and so ‘fed’ Obama some simple dialog; so that Obama could finish the sentence he started.

En toto; or break it down, by ‘frame’; Obama was a freaking mess!

Did anyone watch Morning Joe? My uber Barack Obama supporter friend took great relish in telling me that someone on Morning Joe, amazingly she could not remember exactly who, mentioned that “chicago has some stuff” and “guess it will be coming out now”.

I would have thought nothing of a chicago comment were I not reading here.

Also, went back to the first presidential debate, 2008 to see what Michelle was wearing. She had on a floral dress with an off white background, lively but understated. It contrasts sharply with the purple suit she wore last night. I don’t’ think she’s worn anything that somber to somber events. That suit spoke volumes.

Watched Morning Joe; just to see how things were going after Chris’s meltdown. Did hear someone, correct themselves; from having said ‘stuff’; to something else. It was a rumble of conversation. But when I heard it; thought ‘oh; here it comes’. . but it did not. Only watched a few minutes; but caught that; it may have come up again; later in show?
Whatever the case; I thought; this may be the beginning of an ‘ugly’ unraveling. One thing, for Jesse,Jr. to disappear into therapy. . .

Considering that Romney just had to debate two people at the same time, Obama and Lehrer he did a brilliant job.

As for the reaction by the leftists –

Van Jones – “Romney was able to out-Obama, Obama”

Granholm – “Democrats and Progressive won’t be worried”

Andrew Sullivan – “..this was a disaster for the president for the key people he needs to reach, and his effete, wonkish lectures may have jolted a lot of independents into giving Romney a second look.”

“…Obama’s closing statement so fucking sad, confused and lame? He choked. He lost. He may even have lost the election tonight.”

Jim Carville – “They have run a very good campaign thus far. I don’t think that President Obama did what this campaign wanted him to do. I think he was off his game tonight. But let’s don’t go overboard here. It will be like a big sort of pushback. … My point is this — President Obama came in, he wanted to have a conversation. It takes two people to have a conversation. Mitt Romney came in with a chainsaw. He’s trying to talk to a chainsaw.”

Chrissy Matthews – “(Obama) was, ‘Wait an hour and a half, I think I can get through this thing, I don’t even want to look at this guy.’ Whereas Romney — I loved the split screen, staring at Obama, addressing him like the prey. He did it just right. I’m coming at an incumbent. I’ve got to beat him. You got to beat the champ and I’m going to beat him tonight. And I don’t care what this guy moderator whatever he think he is because I’m going to ignore him. What was Romney doing? He was winning.”

Wait for the fireworks. The White House lied about what took place. The Libyans have been totally honest. This is something quite unbelievable yet it is true.

Barry is in hot water over the terrorist attack in Benghazi. He also has to deal with more fallout over F n F. Now there is another dead border agent… the Univision documentary clearly points the finger at the source of the cover-up.

Loved that line, too! Think of all the lies that Obama has been repeating for years – this was probably the first time he’s ever had to deal with an immediate response to them. Mitt knows a heck of a lot more about business than Obama ever will, but Obama’s been repeating his false characterizations about corporations for so long he’s probably forgotten that these were talking points, not facts.

Not a criticism of Mitt, because I loved that response, but he could have taken it a bit farther and added that what is sending American jobs offshore is NOT some mythical tax deduction (which if there was, why hasn’t Obama gotten rid of it in four years), but OVER-taxation, OVER-regulation, the UNIONS, the MINIMUM WAGE, and the BS lawsuits that employees can file against employers via the EEOC (need tort reform). Missed a great opportunity.

That said, it was a great night for Mitt. Thank God there was at least one grown-up in the room.

    Happy Good Morning to All
I listened to Obama’s first speech in 2008. Disliked him immediately and have not listened to a single thing he has said in almost 4 years now. But…I made an exception last night and watched the debate, (I must admit I did hit the mute button a few times when the pretender-in-chief was whistling his way through some convoluted explanation of his “ideas”) I thought Romney was AWESOME!!
He hit it out of the park. He was able to show people watching that Obama was lying in such a nice way. I think there were many of those “Bless his heart” moments by Mitt.
I had neighbors calling me last night very excited by what they had heard ( I live in a very blue area)
Everyone at work this morning is talking about it,and they seemed to mirror my opinion that it was great.
I can hardly wait to watch Paul Ryan beat up Plugs Biden next week.
    Should be good times:)

I saw The One on TV last night, and he definitely looked pale as a ghost. It was as if they had drained his blood out. Afterwards, even in my dreams, I kept thinking, “The One was on drugs. No one looks pale like that being sober…”

And speaking of sober, Mitt Romney last night became a living, breathing, walking advertisement for abstinence – from alcohol, drugs, and even caffeine. His religious beliefs aside, he definitely looked like the fresh, capable adult in the house, and in command of the facts at that – even though The One is over a decade his junior. All he had to do is to make sure everyone knew he was in COMMAND – while The One just looked the part of a drunken sailor. (My apologies to sailors here.)

The Duke, who was a Merchant Marine, saw the stark difference last night. He had his B.S. Meter on high alert, and he found some serious ones coming from the mouth of The One. He couldn’t be giddier about that encounter. He was practicing The Stomp Dance this morning. “What was that?” I asked. He said it was the Stomp Obama dance, the one he witnessed last night! And did you see the reaction from that Frank Luntz focus group? It was priceless – they ALL switched from The One to Romney.

Can’t wait for The Stomp Dance performed by Paul Ryan on Joe Biden!

I mentioned this on your other thread, but I left out some details. So I live in a different time zone and thus slept through the debates (saw them now though).

When I logged onto facebook it was like facebook had exploded. My leftie friends were outraged. Their political posts these days have been few and far between, but when they post it’s always ridiculing Mitt Romney or republicans.

This time though they talked about Obama. They were pissed. Many of the posts were written in all caps with things like, “OBAMA DIDN’T LOSE. I DON’T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS. I HATE MITT ROMNEY!”

Here was what my most left of lenin facebook friend wrote:

(Some people will probably say that Mitt won because he got a lot of jabs in at Obama, who didn’t particularly defend himself, but given the amount of time you have per question to answer, Mitt spent almost all of his time on jabs and pointing out vague, uncited errors in the Obama administration and very little on saying anything about what he plans to do differently, or what plans he has for the future. Saying, “I’ll put Americans back to work” is a vague campaign promise that can be broken so easily and no one will bat an eyelash, give examples, give specifics. Debates are for the discussion of actual ideas and plans, Mitt used the first debate as a stage to ridicule and poke instead of actually discuss much of anything, I’m not sure if he plans to divulge his plans in the next debate.

Obama on the other hand, only really got one jab in, and that was about Romney’s specificity, which if you’re actually paying attention to the debate, is less of a jab and more of a jackhammer, because Mitt spent the entire debate giving his empty campaign slogans all over again, instead of referring to actual plans. Obama did well when it came to discussing the middle class, however I feel he should’ve defended Obamacare more, especially since this is an issue that should kick Romney off the damn stage (AS HE INSTATED THE SAME THING IN HIS OWN STATE AND NOW WANTS TO VILIFY IT) Obamacare is old-Romney care. Point out that he is vilifying his own damn program! I think perhaps Obama was using this as a platform to not seem aggressive and more bipartisan, which Mitt used it as a way to say, “The democrats are not for you Americans, choose me, because I have done stuff!”

Regardless of your political affiliation, I hope you realize that debates are there specifically so that the American public can make a more educated decision in who they will vote for. The point of this is to have each candidate lay out their plan for their 4-years as President, to give specifics, to give examples, to be concise and on point about their goals and how they plan to reach them.

In this definition of a debate, Obama won, perhaps because he already had those plans in play and it’s not some military secret (like it seems to be with Mitt) or his team planned on using the debate to continue to talk about actual plans to knock at Mitt who seems to have none, and he wasn’t a see-saw like Mitt tonight, who quite literally said, “There’s nothing wrong with shipping jobs overseas, I don’t get any benefits for doing that.” and then almost vilifying those who would ship jobs overseas instead of keeping them in America where he promises to “give millions of new jobs to Americans”, but then DOESN’T SAY HOW HE PLANS TO DO IT. It’s just empty. Obama’s cup wasn’t full or anything, but at least it had something in it.

/ I am sooooo looking forward to the Ryan/Biden debate, I don’t think it will top the Biden/Palin debate, but I’m looking forward to it none the less)

I think she babbles as much as Obama. She is SOLD on the Obama cult if you can’t tell. You can see the filter on that one.

But to me what was interesting was her and the others refusal to accept Obama lost and then their almost anger at Obama for losing. I think Leftists hate to be humiliated and they destroy anyone who does that. They sold their soul to be part of the “smart” ones.

Obama has embarrassed them, but they can’t destroy him (not yet). Though some of that need to do so is leaking through anyway.

So on the Left (more than the right I think) these debates had a strong effect, but I believe a very demoralizing one. As for my friend who believes Biden will own Ryan, yeah… she’s a lost cause if you couldn’t tell.

She’s “looking forward to the Ryan/Biden debate, I don’t think it will top the Biden/Palin debate, but I’m looking forward to it none the less”? Really?

Minitrue buried it by ignoring it in the days that followed, but as I recall the media had to agree right after and into the next morning that Palin won the VP debate. I’m sure they’ve been trying to get Biden prepped from the moment they found out Ryan was the pick, but – if his recent statements are indication – “Joe will be Joe” and Ryan have him dazed and even more confused than usual.

Aren’t the next two Presidential debates going to focus on Defense and Foreign Policy? Where 0 has to defend his policies on THOSE fronts?

      I think I can see November…

Caught a small part of Hannity tonight; Michelle Malkin was on and she was reminding Sean that the format for the second debate was Town Hall. Said do not be surprised if the Democrats bus members of the audience in for support. I don’t know how participants are selected, but I would think both candidates would be able to select equal numbers or no numbers. I do think that Obama will do better for the second one….because of the venue and fear of his own party if he does not!!
I have lots of faith in Romney’s intelligence and discipline and I think he will be good…just may not be a home run like the first one!!

    Kevin,

Excellent write up (as always). Just a few comments on your comments and random thoughts:

    1. for comments that are visual in nature (10, 9, 8, etc) a screen capture showing what you are talking about would be great

    2. on comment 4, would that not be a kick in the pants – he goes off to this mansion in Hawaii just to find himself physically incapacitated and unable to enjoy any of it. There is a biblical lesson in there.

    3. on comment 3: ” Michelle Obama (dressed up like Grimace from McDonaldLand)” too funny. No one rips women’s fashion like a gay man.

    4. minitrue (nice term by the way) will spin this that President Obama is under so much pressure to save America that he cannot focus on unimportant things like debates. Minitrue will downplay the importance of debates because “democrats have big ideas that do not deconstruct to debate-sized talking points”. Watch for this new talking point. Particularly before the VP debates.

    5. the biggest threat to President Obama at this point are the hardcore Marxist Progressives. If it looks like President Obama is a liability to their long term plans, I am very afraid the he may become a bump in the road. I know the security services (SS,FBI) are watching the white supremacist threat, but I truly believe that people like George Soros who are heavily invested in an indentured America pose a bigger threat. Their vision and their investment are at risk.

    6. the counter meme that has been deployed already is: “Who cares, Osama is dead and Big Bird is alive” When you and my fellow readers encounter this, remind the person who says this that Ambassador Stevens is dead, too.

Kevin, I found you observations to be highly illuminating although the suggestion that 0bama has been in some sort of drug detox (wasn’t that one of the Dr Seuss books that didn’t make it, “The Fox In DeTox?” lol), that idea is going to be quickly refuted, rebuked and ridiculed, not that it isn’t a possibility since it has been established that 0bama is indeed, at least a former dope fiend.

However permit me to suggest one of the possible excuses that Team 0bama will offer to explain away his haggard appearance last night, at some point we can expect an ‘unnamed source’ in the 0bama regime (perhaps the illustrious David Axelgrease, or Valerie JarJar) to let it ‘slip’ that 0bama has been operating on less than a couple hours of sleep a night due to an “impending crisis”, “possible terrorist attack”, “military confrontation in ______>> WACIST!!!! <<<

About your point #10, above, Kevin:

Do you think Obama will now insist on being given his usual ‘enhancement drug’? And if so, after the enforce abstinence, won’t that make him appear more loopy and off-the-rails?

Whatever they do – the last debate on foreign policy will be the clincher, and Obama cannot hide from his record, not from the blood on his hands.

I’d also suggest that there may be no ‘October Surprise’ as there was in 2008, which imho was probably helped along by Soros. I think Soros is now having his hands full to prevent such a ‘surprise’ (melt-down in Europe) from happening because that would really put the final nail into his boy’s coffin.

Kevin, really good coverage and to the point. Romney compared Obama to his “boys” and got away with it because he’s 100% correct. (I raised a couple of boys and when they lied to me, there was this split second they looked directly at me but couldn’t hold their gaze. I knew at that moment my child lied to me. Now they complain about their kids doing the same thing and they are complaining to me about their children lying to them..and I laugh so hard.) Obama averted his eyes from Romney because he couldn’t look at a parental figure and get away with his lies. This won’t change the diehard O maniacs, but those who write those big checks were paying attention just like we are right here.

It also appears to me that Obama is too sick to be president. His nervous system seems to be deteriorating, so you might be right about Parkinson’s Disease. What a waste of four years that we as a nation had to endure this unhealthy boy president. I mean, would you hire this man to work for you?

Good morning! Okay, ground report from two of my Mid-South relatives who watched the debate… well, one watched and the other tried, but Obama started rambling and she went to sleep. (I found this completely understandable).

But, back to the one who watched. He had been depressed by the poll numbers (despite my best efforts to help out with facts/internals). He was *Energized* after watching. He was excited, happy, even got up with the early alarm this morning to watch more of the spin that he didn’t see last night. Yay!

The one who fell asleep was also happy — not just because the one who watched was happy — but because future President Romney did a great job. She was bright this morning. She also stated that (before she dozed off) when O was yammering on about the Las Vegas teacher that she realized that she agreed with me about the fact that O is on drugs. Things clicked in her head — probably because he kept mentioning Vegas and that would be a place where you would have fairly easy access to drugs.

Personally, I think future President Romney did an excellent job. I was watching his face and his eyes were so kind. He seemed calm and peaceful. He was on top of his game, I thought, and he made me relax enough that I could watch part of the debate. I’m so happy with how he did and his demeanor (professional, kind, in control). Now I’m looking forward to future VP Ryan and Biden’s debate.

I have to guess that’s how people who don’t need it react. I felt he was on Adderall or something of that type during the 2008 Saddleback Church debate and definitely during his interview with Bill O’Reilly. He was not high last night for long. Show the speeches where Obama talks about how GOOD things are and how the economy has gotten better, blah, blah, blah, juxtaposed with graphics that show the black unemployment rate moving higher and higher. If they could get some video or pics of black people in long lines at the unemployment office, or even just sitting around doing nothing on the streets (THAT won’t be hard to find in any major city) and show those behind the graphic of the unemployment rate climbing and climbing.

Here’s a common theme. A lot of people are telling me they watched with trepidation and expectation, the entire time they kept asking themselves, “do you believe you’re seeing this? Is this really happening?” and they said they were waiting for the “other shoe to drop”. These are not republicans or conservatives. These are regular people who have just now started paying attention. I think most of them watched because they feel they have a duty to watch before they vote but also for the reality tv aspect of the debates.

They are saying “well, let’s not jump to conclusions, let’s see how they do in the next two debates” but you can tell they are starting to lean towards Romney.

    ..a little history lesson:

..on 7 Dec 1941, right after attacking Pearl, a Japanese Admiral is reported as commenting that he feared they had just ‘awakened a sleeping giant”…

    ..he was correct!

Somewhat later (EXACTLY 55 years ago today!!!) the Soviets launched our planet into the Space Age with the faint beep…beep…beep.. of Sputnik.

…the result? a guy from Ohio, Neil Armstrong (RIP just over one month ago on 25 August 2012), stepped upon the surface of the Moon, while later the collapsed Soviets left Russia and infiltrated Chicago politics as their fall-back position…

What’s the point? Simply this: the marxist-controlled media will ignore the anniversary today of their singular greatest achievement BECAUSE it indirectly caused their single greatest failure…

PREDICTION: Obama’s 2008 election-day victory will, in years to come, also be stuffed down the memory hole…..

Its a brave thing you do, and quite a journey you have taken, as gay-dem turned gay-outspoken-conservative! I could see in Barry’s fake little token wishes to his “sweetie” michelle, that she was PISSED yesterday, having to read about his gay outing the day before their blessed anniversary. Awesome, the truth is coming out, and I’m just glad I was able to see this with eyes wide open all this time.

Small ground report, lefties not willing to say ANYTHING (which might be my fault, they might think I was getting ready for a gloat fest). A couple of old guys (republicans) saying they wished Romney had been “more aggressive.” What? What eeyores. Me: “if it had been a boxing match they would have stopped it. Did you want him to step in and kill the guy on stage?”

I heard that O said at a rally today that last night was not the “real Romney.” I also heard a clip of him responding to the “I’ve been in business 25 years and I don’t know what you’re talking about.” But I still didn’t hear any specifics. It sounded very lame.

He said it was an “odd” performance, and that the President seemed “demure” and “shy” at being confronted with an “alpha male.” Wow. If you read what Kevin and Jerome Corsi and Larry Sinclair have been saying, it makes you sit up and pay attention. I’ve been thinking about this all day. I actually think Romney pulled his punches. I think he sized up the situation and realized that he, Romney, was better informed than the president. I bet if you asked him he would tell you that was the shocker for him. If you think about it, we were thrilled, we were amazed by Romney keeping his composure and delivering his message. Romney saw a man who could not look him in the eye, he saw a man who could not understand the things he was saying and he could really have finished him off to the point where there would never be another debate, it would not be necessary. The country would have seen enough Instead he chose to be the human being with a heart that he is and continue on with the debate as it was. That was a good God fearing man up there.

I also think this is why the left is so angry. Were the tables turned, they’d have wholly and unequivocally vanquished their opponent. They’d have finished him. They are seeing the humanity in the man they want to label as evil and it is making them very very very uncomfortable.

I think Romney was finally able to articulate the message we’ve all been hearing to the rest of America but with a very clear easy going manner. This man basically said last night that no person, no family will be left behind and he told you you could count on him and everyone, including the lefties, believed him. That was the frightening part for them. They believed him, they realized that he could do what Barack could not. It scared the heck out of them.

Great article. I found it funny yet sadly accurate. When a stand up guy like Romney with all his business experience and knowledge faces off with a sneaky and slick salesman like Obama the contrast is stark and the empty suit and chair of Obama really comes shining through to even his base.
My fear is the Left will fear an election loss and attempt to fabricate unrest in order to suspend elections and ultimately declare (in a much sweeter term) a Dictatorship.
They didn’t get this far by breaking law, deceiving and lying only to give in now from a single honest election.

I heard about the smirking too today. But, if you go back to the republican primary debates he did on occassion smirk. His expression this time was not Romney smirk as I’ve ben saying to everyone who brought this up to me. I basically said, if you wanted to see smirk you saw smirk on the president’s face.

With Romney he went into discussion mode, he went into business face. You don’t smirk, you don’t smile unless it is warranted, you don’t frown cause you need to make sure they (those with whom you are dealing) know you are upbeat and hopeful and energetic. You make a nice regular face that suits you and shows how committed you are to the task at hand. Basically an unreadable face. In many ways business face is similar to poker face only in poker face you can cheat and wear sun glasses. It’s a way of not letting your face reveal your emotions or show your hand.

I’ve been telling people all day that they got a taste of the real mitt romney, who he is right out there in the open. He was prepared but he was also interested in engaging the president on the areas the president was touching on, so much so, he wrote it down and went from subject to subject. This is why I thought some of these democrats were idiots when they were claiming the president came for a discussion and didn’t get it. Maybe there is a problem with communication in the president’s camp cause really that was a back and forth, more Lincoln Douglass than ever.

I aggravated so many on the left today with this explanation I think everyone who tried to push the smirk theory on me today had a day full of tums after I was done with them.

Kevin and everyone. I just watched the Kudlow show on CNBC. I wanted to see his reaction to the debate. He had a segment with a woman who used to be a Jag who is saying that the military absentee ballots are down very much since 2008 and that the states like Pa and Va are the worst. She kept calling on the President as commander in chief to get on this now so they are not disenfranchised. She said the Pentagon wants to look into this after the election, she will not stand for this, she’s out there fighting.

Larry Kudlow said “not that I’m into conspiracy theories or anything but is the fact that the military usualy votes republican a factor here?” and she was great, very cool, she said it doesn’t matter how they vote but that they are entitled to their vote. She stuck to her non partisan message.

Wonder if the blogsphere should be getting behind her. I’m assuming Larry will have something on his website.

Obama was not only deprived of sycophants and forced to respond to someone who actually called him on his record, but he was deprived of his life blood: applause. He isn’t used to talking to an audience who doesn’t erupt in standing ovation every 5 seconds, no matter what lame thing he says. It’s as if someone cut Sampson’s hair. Next debate, audience reaction will be encouraged. I predict.

She was a cocaine addict and went from lovely and well groomed to a walking skeletal wreck with gray skin, eyes like black holes, and jerky movements with tremors. She couldn’t even string two coherent sentences together by the time she was fired for persistent tardiness and incompetence. That’s who Obama reminded me of last night. Maybe he’s got The Slims too although I’ve never seen that.

They excused it away in 2008, and they will do it again this year. Who’s going to investigate? Who prosecutes? Washington is awash with fraud. We can shout and stamp our feet but until democrats are held to the same standards as republicans this isn’t much of an October surprise.

Obama is pushing 50 and it sounds like he’s been doing drugs and boozing practically non-stop for the last 4 years. That catches up with you eventually. It’s time for people to realize if Obama keeps up his lifestyle we very possibly could wind up with Biden as president. God forbid!

Amazing how a good old fashioned ass kicking knocks the Eeyore out of even the most dedicated rain cloud magnets. Nothing but a big long post-debate cigarette break over at Hot Air today. Just wait til after the next debate. No matter what, Barky will be proclaimed the winner, and every article there will be nadwringing about how Romney blew his momentum and all is lost. Wait for it.

Poor Peggy, even when she’s trying to be positive she just can’t seem to pull it off.

You can take the Conservative columnist out of the President’s elite dinner for journalists but you can take the dinner out of the elite journalist. She’ll always fondly remember that dinner, that invite. It seems it will forever color her view of this administration.

Kudlow, on the other hand, took the dinner in stride, hasn’t let it affect him (well maybe only a little bit in the weeks following that dinner) and has moved along, free to call the president out whenever the need arises.

Kevein: Wow, that was even more awesome than Romney’s debate performance, which was rather impressive. I could not believe how weak Obama looked in comparison, how he didn’t have his facts right and thought he could just wing it the way he does with adoring fans out on the stump. Not.

Of course, Romney pulled some punches. Nary a word about Marxist views, toxic associates/appointments, toxic policies, impeachable acts, the gay life, subversive activities, ineligibility. Should we admire his restraint or lack of courage?

By the way, an Australian paper online is carrying the story that Obama doing the “who is the real Romney” thing. What is more incredible is that Obama is continuing to repeat the lie about the 5 trillion in taxes. It seems that he is fixaed with his lies. There is no stopping him. I hope that Romney will put up an ad that will show the truth of the matter….

….. and he should repeat the famous Reagan line “there you go again” every time that line is mentioned.

    Kevin,
I did notice, as did a couple of others, that Obama used the past tense when he made the comment, “When I was President”. I believe this is reflective of his confused state of mind that comes from withdrawing from serious drug use. A sort of vertigo attacks the mind and body and it’s obvious he’s not eating healthily which causes even more mental stress. Good Call on amphetamine “pick-me-up, but as you noted, it wore off quickly and he just sort of melted!

Note: Last week, many meetings and activities were cancelled by Obama or Valerie and one of those meetings was a debate prep with John Kerry. Because Obama sequestered himself in a posh hotel to supposedlly prepare for the debate, it leads me to question if it wasn’t a short, intense detox stint to get him over the worst of the DT’s and in shape for the debate. Just a thought.

Final note: When Romney was finally making his fantastic smack down comment about “repeating a fact doesn’t make it true. I have 5 boys who told me stories over and over, thinking I’d believe them, but it didn’t make them true”, did you notice that Obama actually smiled about the story, like a kid who was hoping the subject had been changed and he was out of trouble? Of course, when Romney finished his story and looked straight at Obama and said what he’s been saying is patently not true, Obama looked down again. It was like he was going through the motions of pretending to be the CIC without self belief he normally exudes. I think he’s probably very tired and all the lies, and living these lies are getting to him. Yes, it’s the drugs, too, but his story is starting to unravel and new revelations seem to be coming faster. Staying sober during this time is going to be impossible for him.

I completely agree with your Final Note observations and analysis, Ann. I was also wondering how long he could keep up the charade before he starts to unravel before our very eyes. And now with all those Obama Cabal skeletons starting to shake, rattle and roll, rather loudly, against the those proverbial closet doors, he, better than anyone else, knows what’s gonna come tumbling down on his head, sooner, rather than later. It ain’t going to be pretty. No wonder he stood there on that stage like a defenseless, doomed, guilty man, paralysed with fear and shame, ready to walk himself off the plank. And as Lombardian so wisely said on an another thread: “There is no defense for what is indefensible.” Perhaps even for the “One”?

    Excellent article, observations and comments!

What do you think the next false flag will be? Today the ‘unemployment rate dropped’–which Obutt is crowing about–but we all know it means more people have stopped looking for work and/or the books were ordered cooked. An international event? A sympathy factor ‘obama scuffing’?

Or have his handlers decided to let him go?

Given the potential for flipping votes, it would seem that we need a huge turnout to blunt those effects. After all, Soros owns the spanish voting company…

Oh gosh, this is such a great recap of the debate, I just had to post and say: don’t ever pull a punch!

    LOL, just totally brutal.

And yes, Mitt Romney is really, really handsome and he does grow on you. He was FANTASTIC in this debate.

I really hope Obama does not have AIDS or Parkinson’s, maybe he is just depressed as are so many of the rest of us.

Whatever his ailments, mental or physical I too hope he will be quickly recovering….in Hawaii….in January and for the rest of his natural life.

” To get through the almost two hours of being on TV, Obama looks like he needed a big injection of beta-blockers and/or amphetamines.”

Beta-blockers are used by stage performers to battle “stage fright by “calming and regulating the heart beat and lowering blood pressure, whereas amphetamines do just the opposite the energize the flow of adrenaline, speed up the heart and raise blood pressure.

If taken in combination you’re dancing with the devil.

I posted on facebook that night after the debate that reggie must have gotten barry some bad chit. You confirmed what I said. Kinda sorta. Do you really think the staffers score for him? Lafayette Park? He has a source and it’s not off of the street. I doubt any sources from his days as a senator here are still around. Reggie was probably his man for it until he left in December but now he’s back so who knows.
