Caucus and Primaries Project for 2012

Posted on November 17, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

Here’s something we want your help with, that is a long-range project that’s going to take a lot of effort, a lot of research, plenty of writing, and most likely just about all of the free time we have left.

But, we have been working behind the scenes for some time on a side project that will ultimately turn into a book of our own on the 2008 campaign, specifically focused on the vile things Dr. Utopia’s supporters did to us personally, and things we witnessed on the road for Hillary Clinton in 27 states last year.

The book started out as a travelogue for the presidential campaign, but has turned into much more than that — really, what it’s become, unintentionally, is a guidebook of what to look for, what to expect, and what we need to prevent in 2012 when the Republican nomination contests start.

We are currently working under the assumption that Dr. Utopia will run unopposed for the Dems’ nomination, so our focus is going to be on how to prevent Liberals, Leftists, and the White House (which, really, is redundant to even list after those first two) from gaming the Republican nomination and picking one of the Five Horseman of the GOP Apocalypse as the 2012 nominee:  namely Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Tim Pawlenty, Charlie Crist, or John Huntsman.

In 2007, when we first started campaigning for Hillary Clinton, we had never worked on campaigns before.  We had no idea what to expect.  We collected petition signatures for Clinton around Chicago and witnessed the nastiness of the Utopia campaign and its supporters on the ground here.  That’s the first time these thugs called us RAAACISTS for supporting a candidate other than ‘The One”.  By the time we started going to Iowa to canvass and campaign for Clinton there, we were starting to see clearly that the Utopia campaign had been organized since 2004 with every dirty Alinsky trick ready to go.

We were always playing catch-up on the Clinton campaign because Hillary Clinton, God love her, played fair and is a decent human being the likes of which we all should every day be thankful for, because she is the only responsible adult at the table in this administration.

Seriously.

And for those of you new to this site, check the banner above and the domain name.  This is HillBuzz.  We started as a site to rally Clinton’s supporters during the primary campaign, and we have kept going to continue that support for Clinton in all she does — but also to make sure what was done to our champ Hillary is never done to another candidate, particularly a woman, by the Leftists and the MSM again.

There have been many times when we’ve wanted to walk away from the Internet, to stop writing 10,000+ words a day on here, but there’s a weird energy that drives us…because we reach thousands of people a day on this site, and if we could convince just a small percentage of you to do something every day to stop ACORN, the SEIU, and the Utopia campaign from committing massive fraud and voter intimidation in the future, we can partly avenge what happened to our champ in 2008.

Sometimes, late at night, we are literally haunted by what we personally witnessed in Dubuque, Iowa in 2008 on Caucus Day.  That’s where we were stationed.  The Caucus site was run by Dr. Utopia’s people.  How they did that is beyond us, but everyone running check-in, everyone standing by the doors wore Utopia buttons, shirts, hats, etc.  They would walk outside and pull Clinton signs out of the ground and throw them away, leaving the Edwards and Utopia signs.  Old people excited to FINALLY, after all these years have a chance to vote for Hillary Clinton for something were turned away at the doors and told they were at the wrong caucus site.  And, old people being old people, they would shuffle off confused, get back into their cars, and go on wild goose chases believing the people at the door were authority figures without alterior motives.  And then, moments before the caucus started, DOZENS of young Chicagoans poured through the doors and headed straight to the Utopia side of the room.  The parking lot was filled with Illinois license plates.  None of these people checked in, and the Utopia caucus organizers just let them all vote — even though they did not live in Iowa.

We need to make sure as many people out there as possible on the Republican side know what happened during the caucuses and primaries.  Texas, if you can believe it, was even worse.

Michael Steele will be in Chicago on Friday and if have the chance to talk to him again like the last time he was here, we’re going to tell him in person, again, that reforming the caucuses and primaries should be Mission Critical for Republicans…because Democrats are already gearing up to do whatever they can to game the Iowa caucus again.  Chicagoans will once more flood into Iowa to vote…this time probably for Mike Huckabee to ensure someone who can’t win the general election becomes the GOP nominee.

People, we need to come up with a plan to make the state GOP organizations listen and take this threat seriously.  We have three years to do this.  Because the Caucuses and Primaries are party affairs, it’s technically not illegal for Democrats to do the things they did with the Iowa caucus.  It’s wrong, underhanded, and the antithesis of Hope and Change, but none of it was prosecutable because primary and caucus voting is not governed by any federal election laws.

It is up to the parties to ensure fair outcomes.

And it is up to the people on the ground to hold the parties accountable for that.

SOMEONE out there will have a lighting in a bottle, flash of genius moment an come up with a way to make sure 2008 is never repeated, not ever again.  Maybe it will be us on this site — we doubt that, but maybe.  We, currently, have no idea how to stop Dr. Utopia in 2012 because now he’s got the White House and full use of the MSM at his disposal, in addition to ACORN, the SEIU, the Black Panthers, and other hired thugs.

Maybe getting all of our stories out there, showing people what Utopia’s campaign was actually like…putting all of this down on paper and distributing it to as many people as possible…maybe that will make people stand up in 2012 and prevent all of this from happening again.

Please offer your thoughts here, because our mission going forward includes but is not limited to:

(1) Dismantling and destroying ACORN, the SEIU, and all of their affiliates

(2) Taking down the Al Sharpton/Henry Gates/Jesse Jackson/Eric Holder Race Industry

(3) Reforming the nominating contests to make the primaries fraud-proof…while eliminating caucuses completely (as they are the easiest to game)

(4) Making sure Democrats do not pick the Republican candidate they want to run against in 2012

(5) Doing whatever we can to put the MSM out of business as payback for their rampant sexism and misogyny

2012 will be here before any of us know it.  There is an awful lot of work to do.  All of the above is so important to us personally that we’re willing to skip days off, willing to postpone vacations, willing to literally give all of our free time to this.

All we ask is for those of you out there to help out too.  Just imagine if we could create a virtual community in the thousands who every day brainstorms, learns from each other, recruits friends and family to help, and mobilizes as a true grassroots army to defeat Dr. Utopia and his band of greedy socialists in 2012.

Nothing like that has ever existed in American politics.

We can make it happen.

We’ll do our part in Boystown here in Chicago, and on this site.

What will you do in your hometown?

Have you approached any reasonably trustworthy media with the aim of broadly exposing what happened? I don’t know what you think of Glenn Beck, but he sure has a pretty good record going for fearlessly using his show and resources to expose corruption and champion truth…

I don’t know Andrew Breitbart personally, but from everything I’ve read by him and about him, he would be someone who would really like to be in the loop on all of the things you folks learned in the 2008 campaign. He has a bright spot-light and is willing to use it.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE you guys! I can’t believe I’ve only just found out about you since the “W Thank you” post! But now I find myself checking out HB 10x a day and am hanging on every word!

I am no longer a Democrat, but I sure was hoping that Hillary would crush Dr. Utopia and was disgusted by the treatment she got from the MSM. Given the chance, I would have voted for Hillary over McCain, but begrudingly voted for the old codger b/c Utopia and his minions scared the crap out of me. I cant believe that people actually fell for his Hope and Change campaign BS.

Not sure if you have thought of this (or are actually doing it and I just haven’t seen it) but I think you all should set up and online community where all HB fans could get together to network. I am a member of “As A Mom” and they’ve got a wonderful site for conservative women. I’ve met so many like minded ppl on there and am glad to know that even though I live in “The People’s Republic of Maryland” I can still find people near me who have not OD’d on the Kool-Aid.

Keep up the good work. The people of the USA need you, and we are so glad to have you in our lives.

I will do whatever it takes to stop this fraud in Chief.

    How do we start, guys?

2010 is the first chance we have to put any kind of real choke chain on Utopia. Work on a campaign for someone who will have the – excuse my frankness in advance – testicular fortitude to take on Granny McBotox and her cohorts in the House. That’s a first step!

And by the way, you guys are terrific! True patriots, each and every one of you!

Our son goes to Notre Dame, but whenever we visit him, we fly into Chicago and drive to South Bend. Would be great to get to meet you sometime!

Ok, I am new to this political organization so, wouldn’t we need to start at the beginning? First, we need to find out where all the voting facilities will be all across the country. Guys, is this possible or do they change from year to year? My husband grew up in Iowa and we will travel if we have to and meet with a network of volunteers to start working the caucuses and phone bank, and please be kind and judge free but I do not understand how caucuses work. How do they game the system, what are we up against?

I’m with Rain, my husband also grew up in Iowa and has family we can stay with (although some will not agree with what I am doing-but oh well); and would love to do SOMETHING, ANYTHING?!

Also, I live in South Carolina, another caucus state. So I can help there also…

I’m strappin’ on my Palin Running Shoes now!! You Buzz Boys are so inspiring…

Wow, I feel something providential going on because everything you’re writing about here on Hillbuzz is what I’ve been thinking about, and I know there are probably MILLIONS of others with similar thoughts.

    Here’s my take …

    1) Everyone on our side should start organizing sooner rather than later. Your idea about Palin’s book tour being the time to network is perfect. I am attending a Palin speech and signing in Missouri next month, and plan to write down as many names and emails as I can. I just wonder who has the ability to start the Palin version of “Organizing for America” ??? Will it come from her, or be grassroots?

    2) I think we should all be very wary of not only what you folks are talking about with the caucus fraud, but with something John Fund mentioned tonight on Hannity. He has just written yet another book on voter fraud apparently, and he’s talking about a Universal Voter Registration that possibly could usher in MASSIVE Democratic voter fraud. They would use multiple governmental databases to register people automatically regardless if they were already registered or still living in the state. It would be a duplicative mess that could destroy democracy as we know it if the Dems try to federalize elections.

    3) How can Sarah rally and organize PUMA support? I spent last fall over on Hillary Clinton Forum, and I know that some PUMAs have gone their separate ways, but what would be her best strategy for reaching out to you all? Will she actually have the coffee with Hillary? That would ROCK.

    4) I’m in Kansas — halfway between Iowa and Texas. Anybody is welcome to stay with me on their way to/from the caucuses. We have a guest bedroom. And I am willing to do whatever it takes to put Palin in the White House. We WILL NOT LET the GOP do to her what the Dems did to Hillary. If it takes everything I’ve got, I feel like Hillary’s gonna get some revenge on Dr. Utopia, through Sarah Palin.

I don’t know if it is possible, but something that we could work on internally that would help us to better communicate, would be to establish a live chat via this site or a sister website by you guys that would allow us to interact in real time. It would be cool if we could link up all like-minded sites via this chat so that it could broaden its outreach, thus increasing traffic to the site. We could have a listing of Congressional districts we are located in and form sub-groups within this larger context, which would enable us to pool together our knowledge and resources of our individual districts and states to further the over-arching goal posed in your message. We would also be able to identify commonalities or nuances that we are all facing and collectively brainstorm plausible solutions befitting the nation as a whole or more specifically to individual districts, caucuses, etc.

I think that 2010 will be a loud microphone for the caucuses, so our immediate goal would seem to be the local battlefronts. If we can mobolize and lead in these areas, the RNC will have no choice but to listen.

I would like to say I have a better idea, but until I research more about the caucuses, I will hold further suggestions.

And let me add the No Quarter people would be down with this.

And check out Uppity Woman who blogs at No Quarter and has her own site. She is a fine hippy lady. I have had more than one discussion with her and although I lean Republican (libertarian Republican) in my old age we shared some good thoughts on how the 60s went wrong.

Also the Libertarian Republican site with Eric Dondero.

Maybe we need one of those blog circle things where you can click and get the next site on the list.

My first mate and I used to live near the corner of Sheffield and Dickens so we know the Boyztown area well. I have a son in the Chicago area (UChicago grad) and could probably arrange a visit if we need eyeball contact.

Also my blog buddy Eric at Classical Values. e-mail him at his sidebar addy. Or contact me.

I think reaching out to Glenn Beck is a great idea. I emailed him and Stu this:

    “Hillbuzz Boys on a MISSION”

This site http://www.hillbuzz.org is growing like wildfire….they are open minded self proclaimed “gay Hillary (Clinton) guys from Boystown, Chicago” that DO NOT LIKE WHAT IS HAPPENING TO AMERICA….
They received tons of viral attention for this blog post:
    http://hillbuzz.org/2009/11/10/thank-you-former-president-george-w-bush-and-former-first-lady-laura-bush/

Anyway, you are their LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE PERSON…..Before 2010 & 2012, they are on a MISSION to (from their site):
    (1) Dismantling and destroying ACORN, the SEIU, and all of their affiliates
    (2) Taking down the Al Sharpton/Henry Gates/Jesse Jackson/Eric Holder Race Industry
    (3) Reforming the nominating contests to make the primaries fraud-proof…while eliminating caucuses completely (as they are the easiest to game)
    (4) Making sure Democrats do not pick the Republican candidate they want to run against in 2012
    (5) Doing whatever we can to put the MSM out of business as payback for their rampant sexism and misogyny

My hope is that you reach out to each other….they are FEET ON THE GROUND WITH A WHOLE LOTTA PASSION….and want to do their part in SAVING AMERICA….

    Thank you for listening! Kristen

    HB–

You might already have done this, but if you haven’t, I think it’d be helpful to get in touch with BJ Kling and see if she can get Dr. Long to open her CAUCUS FRAUD site to you. It’s been locked since she’s been sick. BJ, last I spoke with her, is still in touch w/Lynette. In fact, a few months back, a poli-sci prof (another former Dem) at a college in southern Cali wrote me, asking me to put him in touch w/Lynette. I forwarded his e-mail to BJ after I vetted him, and BJ said she’d pass it on.

Anyhow, if you tripped around the site while it was open, then you know Lynette packed it with stats (she’s a mathematician); firsthand accounts of caucus fraud, reams of info about ACORN-SEIU-UTOPIA connection; and so on. It helps that she’s a Dem. The more info you get from Dems, the more credibility you gain w/regard to the CAUCUS FRAUD.

It couldn’t hurt to get in touch with Bettina Viviano and Gigi Gaston, either, re Dem director Gigi’s documentary WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED.

And you know that K, or any of you, can call on me for help with organizing copy/structuring content; copyediting; proofreading; whatever.

Writing a book is an arduous undertaking. Especially given your dicey financial situation, you all are making a supreme sacrifice. This is a form of patriotism that often isn’t recognized as such. We recognize it, and we support you! Thank you!

    HillBuzzers:

I think it might help if we could get team “captains” from the caucus states, since you all will have to head off ACORN-SEIU at the pass. Here are the states, in voting order:

    Alaska
    Colorado
    Hawaii
    Iowa
    Kansas
    Maine
    Minnesota
    Montana
    Nebraska
    Nevada
    N. Dakota
    Texas (primary and caucus)
    Washington
    Wyoming

Do we have posters here from each of these states who’ll help organize a watchdog task force? What do you think?

I’m excited about your book! I’ll be standing in line at your book signing :)

I think one of the keys to this is the politics makes strange bedfellows line. We have to use what’s available to us. That means that even if we don’t agree with some of what Glenn Beck or the Breitbart people say, they do report facts that the general media will not. They both are open to recieving tips from the public and investigating and reporting. They have large audiences and they both do seem to care about truth, so there’s a place to start to get your facts out there. If you know something, see something, hear something, do your best to get the facts out there.

Breitbart has interviews with the Acorn whistle blower for instance, and is giving people a way to help support her defense, while the MSM ignores her.

We know much of the media was complicit in Dr. Utopias election and against Hillary. They can’t be counted on, and one thing we need to do is get the facts to the people. That’s hard to do when the media is against you.

My state is safe and uppity. We have thrown out incumbents several times in the primaries, changed the party in power, very independent here and Dr. Utopia doesn’t stand a chance, so I often wonder, what can I do to help in other states?

  • so over it says:

On Newt: I don’t trust him 100 percent anymore. I think too much go-along-to-get-along has crept into Newt’s way of doing things. I can deal with someone who disagrees with me. I don’t deal with those who appear to be on my side of an issue and cave in for political reasons, abandoning their principles.

I honestly do not know what we can do about the corruption with what happened in Iowa, if the media refuses to report on it.

Aren’t there laws that should have been brought forth on those illegal voters?

Nothing was done to those black panther thugs when they stood outside the polls!

Have we become such a corrupt nation that many laws are now just not enforced?

Since you Hillbuzz guys saw corruption right up front….maybe you could advise us as to what to do.

As a once-upon-a-time aspiring historian, may I make a suggestion about your book? Footnotes, footnotes, and more footnotes! Documentation counts! Otherwise the book will simply become an exercise in “They say/He says”. It will be dismissed as sour grapes. You must interview anyone you can lay your hands on, and document each and every interview.

Right now, CBS (or one of the other major networks) has got 11 “fact finders” going through “Going Rogue” with fine-toothed combs. You can bet your sweet bippy that if you manage to get your book published, they will do the same thing to you.

    The research must be impeccable!

David Plouffe’s book just came out – of course, he makes it sound like they weren’t prepared AT ALL for Obambi to run……

I’m in Texas – can’t do much as far as organizing anything large, but I am the mom of a child with Down syndrome, and we have 2 VERY large DS support groups in our area: one in Dallas (leans Democratic), and ours in Fort Worth (reliably Republican). The folks in our group are very well organized and would be more than happy to help out in any way possible if Sarah P. runs. Fortunately, that network is already set up, and they all have friends…..

Look forward to your book, boyz! If you are looking for a place to sell it in Texas, Fort Worth is a wonderful town (we have cowboys!).

An organization is required to raise money and put people on the ground. Experienced leaders to train volunteers if at all possible.

Organization and money and experienced people. No break through ideas. Just cover each site with a team and back up special operations. JUST LIKE THEY DO.
Take control of the caucus ahead of time just like they do.

People! You need to get in the gutter with them. You will get donantions for it. But an organization is needed.

  • Teresa in Fort Worth, TX says:
    2009/11/18 at 5:15 pm

I think that you may find that most “mainstream” Republicans (myself included) will never be willing to “get in the gutter with them”. However, we are, generally speaking, smarter than they are (!), and we are committed to the ideas of freedom, fairness, and liberty. We want to be able to look at ourselves in the mirror in the morning. A lot of the volunteers for the “other side” are only committed to the personality, so they aren’t as likely to have the same kind of passion that we do.

I would not be a bit surprised if a lot of the people who worked for the O campaign in 2008 have already moved on to something else. Unfortunately for their side, they will have “grown up” by the time the next election rolls around, and they will have other things occupying their time. In 2012, the O’s campaign won’t be “shiny and new”; that is, the novelty of a “historic” campaign won’t be there any longer – they’ve been there, done that.

I’m not saying that we won’t have to work hard, but there will not be the same energy behind a second O run. Plus, some of the folks who campaigned for him last time are going to be disillusioned by the tax hikes that are inevitably going to happen between now and then. If they can’t buy the newest electronic gadget due to less money in their paycheck, they aren’t going to be as likely to vote for him…..

The One has awakened a sleeping giant – and he is going to be in for a rude awakening. It won’t be too much longer before his “true self” reveals itself, and I have a feeling it’s not going to be pretty. He isn’t going to be able to get by on his charm for too much longer, and he’s actually having to do more work than he is used to doing. Plus, there isn’t anyone to blame things on – it’s all on him. But, he wanted this, so…..

Democrats are politically superior. They also are in it for the long haul. Good and decent people win an election and go back to their lives. The leftist never stop.

This time, the good and decent people will be faced with undoing a whole lot of legislation that liberal judges will uphold. Then good and decent people will accept that and go back to their lives. Even in defeat, the left wins and works on the next time they can get into power again.

I too found this site following the ‘W’ blog. You guys are totally awesome. I am addicted to the site and also check back several times a day. I lived in England during Maggy Thatcher. She made it to PM but they treated her shabbily on both sides of the house because she was a woman. The adjectives they used to describe her were never applied to the men in power – hysterical was a favorite. Eventually her own party forced her out of power. Shameful. It’s always going to be hard for women in politics, same as any where else. We have to be twice as smart and have twice as much to offer than any of the male candidates. Hillary and Sarah have all that and the guys hate them for it. You guys rock. You are smart, funny and a little bit naughty every now and then. I am proud to post on your site.

I read an article and now I can’t remember where it was that outlined the strategy for blocking Palin from getting the nomination. Right now, the GOP have winner take all primaries. If they stick with this, there is an opportunity for “we the people” and Palin, to win the nomination. So, in order to block her, this article suggested the GOP do what the Dems did with their primaries. Remember how Hillary would win a state primary, but Obama would end up getting as many or sometimes even more delegates? That is what the Dems did; no more winner take all primaries. They also weighted the votes so that urban votes counted more than rural votes. That’s how they stole the nomination from Hillary. This is one way the GOP could steal the nomination from Palin. So, we need Republicans who can get involved in their party and make sure this does not happen.

OK, WHY would a city vote be of more value than a country vote???

The GOP doesn’t, to the best of my knowledge, want to change their winner-take-all process; it makes things a whole lot easier in the long run (we’re not generally big on drama).

My understanding on the Dem side is that the caucuses are what determines the delegate distribution, which is – in my humble opinion – a TERRIBLY flawed process. It means that a person’s vote in the primary is essentially voided. Until the Democratic Party changes this process, a candidate is going to be able to game the system. Up till the 2008 election, it didn’t seem to be a problem, as there was generally one candidate who emerged as the front-runner.

It seems to me that this is something that Democratic party members/voters are going to have to work to change from the ground up – I don’t imagine the folks at the top are going to change it unless enough people make a lot of noise……

Don’t forget Hillary ran on an anti white male campaign. It was the core of her change message.

I’ll never forget only her and Obama on stage with her saying to the audience that the Democrats were about change. “Just look up here; look at us”. More or less the quote.

All of my white male friends would not vote for Hillary and most didn’t even vote in the presidential election not having a candidate they liked.

Regardless, I will contribute to an action organization whose leaders have the will to win at almost any cost in defeating SEIU and ACORN.

You need commitments from enough people with large enough MONTHLY amounts to pay the salaries of the leadership of the organization. The SEIU has the leadership paid already with union dues. The U.S. taxpayer pays the way for ACORN.

This is the most exciting initiative since the ’08 election! I’m looking forward to starting to work on it.

It’s true that most mainstream Republicans (and I’m sure that goes for most Dems as well) won’t–or to be precise, by upbringing and temperament, can’t–”get in the gutter” even for political causes that they back 100%.

However, these same people can “get in the gutter,” and more, to defend their country, and let’s face it, that’s what this more and more seems to be about.

I also think it’s prudent to be cautious about unthinkingly backing our own political causes to the detriment of the larger effort. If a fair election means the other side wins, so be it; it is the fairness that we fight for.

Great job, guys. I finally have some hope for the first time in a few years. Maybe we can take back the government from all these horrible politicians.

I’ve never been a big fan of Hillary, but something tells me I’ll be a big fan of you.

Have you considered reaching out to the Tea Partiers? They’re not really big fans of Dr. Utopia and minions, either (love that name, BTW). And they’re nothing like what the media would like to portray them as.

I’m a tea partier, and we love you guys. We follow your blog and promote it. Come join us. (Oh, and we’re really not racists, tea baggers, right wing extremists, domestic terrorists, astro turfers, brown shirters, Republicans, or gold conspirators. I actually used to be a Democrat. We’re just people who want to live free and restore our country to the Constitution.) The corruption in DC must end, and it will in 2010.

For your book, your Dubuque precinct captain just went PUMA. Maybe you can write Billdbq on DK and collaborate with him:

    F*ck Joe, Rahm, and Obama. I want my vote back… (10+ / 0-)

    I’m sorry Hillary.

    by Searching for Pericles

    Thanks, slinkerwink, (2+ / 0-)

    very good diary.

Searching for Pericles also offers a good post.
I felt that way six months ago.
And I was a precinct captain for Obama here in Dbq!

Tipped and rec’d, for honest frustration with these a**es.
