Gay Bullying

Where does the Left get the idea that Republicans want to “round up gays” and put us in camps?

Posted at October 24, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Gay Bullying, The Left

Here’s something I’d like to accomplish this week — to research where the lie originates that Republicans want to “round up” gays, lock us in camps, and kill us.

Go ahead and laugh, but I swear I see this lie repeated over and over again in the gay community.  It’s something the Gaystapo goon squad uses to bully gays to never consider voting conservative or for a Republican candidate.

This “Republicans are evil and want to round us up!” trope is rolled out not only in the low-information circles of Facebook, but in many gay publications that claim to be at least somewhat credible.

I’d love to work up a dissection of where this lie comes from, who originates it, and why the Left feels it’s so effective at keeping gay voters on the Democrat reservation (where they blindly vote against their own economic best interests because the DNC keeps telling them that if you are gay you must vote Democrat — since, according to the lie, Republicans are evil and want to murder gays).

The 2012 election is going to be the nastiest and most emotionally-charged in our lifetime.  The Left currently enjoys power like never before, and will not give it up without an epic fight.

I really want to do something to prohibit the Left from using this “Republicans want to round you up and kill you” lie in the gay community in the year ahead…and taking this Alinsky cudgel away from the Left requires a solid look at where this lie comes from, who spreads it, and why the Left needs to rely so heavily on it.

Thoughts?

Utah Ground Report: Who’s really being victimized?

Posted at September 13, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Gay Bullying, Ground Reports, Hillbuzz, Mountain West, The Left

Dear HillBuzz -

Maybe it’s just because HillBuzz.org has been covering this lately, but I have noticed things around me that tie into issues we Buzzers have had great discussions about – namely bullies who claim they are the victims.

It started with the Only@Brunch guys making derogatory comments about Trig Palin in Chicago and The Ben Cohen Standup Foundation hypocritically holding an anti-bullying event in the venue where those bullying attacks were showcased.  And I have to hand it to the HillBuzz crew for standing up for Trig and everyone else who gets picked on in the gay community because of their handicaps or what-have-you.  Also, HillBuzz’s highlighting of the Gaystapo’s constant targeting of people they don’t agree with has made me realize how much those who claim to be victims are really the bullies.

HillBuzz on the Radio: The Fireside Room with Dick & Mary Ervasti today at 900am in Minneapolis

Posted at September 7, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Gay Bullying, Hillbuzz, Hillbuzz Radio, Multimedia, The Left

This morning I’m guesting on “The Fireside Room with Dick & Mary Ervasti” in Minneapolis.

The Ervastis are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met, and they are so committed to doing good in their community.  Mary, in particular, is a real blessing to this world and really inspires me. When I was sick earlier this summer, she took time out of her busy day to call me and pray with me on the phone and I just can’t tell you how much that meant to me, to have someone so important care that much about someone she barely knows.  I just think the world of her.

Today’s topic is going to be drawing attention to the attacks an element of the gay community deliberately makes on conservatives and Christians.  I call these people the Gaystapo, because they serve as the Left’s bullies and goon squad.  The Gaystapo’s marching orders are to berate, demean, degrade, and bully Republican women in particular.  Their favorite targets are, in order, Governor Sarah Palin, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, columnist Ann Coulter, and Governor Jan Brewer.  Other women the Gaystapo target occasionally include former First Ladies Laura Bush, Barbara Bush, and Nancy Reagan, Secretary Condoleezza Rice, columnist Michelle Malkin, activist Regan Giles, and other women associated with conservatism.

The Left uses the Gaystapo to attack women, since the Cocktail Party GOP establishment, the “permanent political class” that Governor Palin has been warning Americans about lately, has always been too afraid to call gays out on their bad, bullying behavior.

It’s time this stopped, and gay bullies were called out for what they’ve been doing to conservative, Christian women for decades.

If you can’t listen to the “Fireside Room with Dick & Mary Ervasti” live today, they have all of their shows archived very quickly and you can listen to today’s show by finding it as the Sep 07, 2011 Show when it’s posted on their site.

I think you would get a lot out of listening to the Fireside Room.  Aside from Andrea Shea King’s Show, this is my favorite show to ever tape because the Ervastis, like Andrea, mean so much to me on a personal level.

POLL: What term is more effective in describing the gay members of the Left’s goon squad: Gaystapo or GayGB?

Posted at September 5, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Gay Bullying, Gold Team - Creativity, Hillbuzz, The Left

Thanks to Kathleen for figuring out how to insert polls into the site again.

Yesterday, I asked for input on what to call one of the Left’s most important horcruxes (a term borrowed from the Harry Potterverse, here meaning the repositories of the Left’s bullying powers that the Cocktail Party GOP establishment never seeks to marginalize, let alone eliminate).  We need a name to permanently identify the gay goon squads the Left uses to attack conservatives, Christians, and Republican women (in particular).  With a name, we can take power over this horcrux and work to erode its effectiveness.

The entire “gay community” is not involved in these direct attacks on conservatives…but the attacks originate with “gay community leaders”, gay newspapers and magazines, gay comedians, and the gay members of the news media (whether openly gay like Rachel Maddow, or still closeted like Anderson Cooper).

These gay bullies are used to viciously attack conservatives and Christians because the Cocktail Party GOP establishment is too terrified of being called HOMOPHOBIC to challenge these goons on their false accusations and high decibel caterwauling.

Which of the two choices above in the poll do you think best sums up these gay goons in service to the Left?

Which of them do you think will be easier to say on the radio or in TV interviews once the term starts catching on?

Which term do you think people will have the most immediate reaction to?

Which is the more powerful identifier of this particular Leftist horcrux?

Brainstorming needed: What’s a great term for describing the part of the gay community that serves as the Left’s goon squad?

Posted at September 4, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Action Items, Gay Bullying, Gold Team - Creativity, Hillbuzz, The Left

UPDATE: Thanks to everyone for the great creativity and inspiration in this thread.  I am forever humbled and blessed by the extreme creativity of those who read HB. I am truly grateful for the ability to run an idea by one of the world’s best focus groups and get such an interesting and effective collection of suggestions.  I don’t know anyone alive who has access to something like this, and I am awed by the willingness to help with these sorts of action items. As a writer I feel like I have this magical window to great oracles, and I really am very thankful for all the suggestions we receive here.

My two favorite ideas in this thread (of many great ones) are:

(a) The Gaystapo

(b) The GayGB

Can you please chime in with your favorite of these two?

Before we switched over to the new server, I used to be able to put up a little poll for you to click on and vote, but I don’t know how to do that anymore…which means we have to just do it the old fashioned way with you commenting on which one you like better:  Gaystapo or GayGB.

Do you think Gaystapo will cause critics to invoke Godwin’s Law?

Is GayGB too hard for some people to get right away (meaning, will it take them too long to realize GayGB is like KGB?)?

What think you?

ORIGINAL POST:

I really need some of your creative help with coining a term for the part of the gay community that actively serves as the Left’s goon squad — the people who serve as the gay complement to the Race Industry and are always ready to call someone in conservative and Christian ranks a HOMOPHOBE or a BIGOT as casually as those like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Henry Gates unfairly label anyone opposing Obama a RAAACIST.

Finding the right term for something is very important, as the Left well knows.  Words have great power.

An Open Letter to Kim Cattrall regarding the hypocrisy of Ben Cohen attending an anti-bullying event at Sidetrack the Video Bar (a venue that promotes bullying)

Posted at August 26, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Action Items, Gay Bullying, Hillbuzz, Purple Team - Palin, The Left

VIA Open Letter, Email, and Post:

August 26, 2011

Dear Ms. Cattrall,

I write to you because you have been a strong, public supporter of the Ben Cohen Standup Foundation and its published mission of being “dedicated solely to the cause of anti-bullying, wherever and to whomever it occurs”. Your photo (above, with Naya Rivera and Ben Cohen) is featured on the Foundation’s website and lends your image and good name, and with them great credence, to the public’s belief that Ben Cohen takes his Foundation’s mission seriously and means what he says when he promises to end bullying “wherever and to whomever it occurs”.

Considering the above, you need to know that Ben Cohen is currently scheduled to appear at Sidetrack the Video Bar on August 30th, 2011 for an event promoting the Standup Foundation in which he will appear on stage alongside Bradley Thomas Balof, a Sidetrack employee who is billed as the event’s MC and auctioneer.

On August 16th, 2011 at 730pm, Sidetrack screened the premiere episode of “Only@Brunch” which features Bradley Thomas Balof as co-host of this gay Chicago talk show, with format similar to “The View”. Sidetrack aired this video on its largest screen, provided free mimosas to attract viewers, and allowed its official logo to be featured on promotional materials with Sidetrack’s clear endorsement of the “Only@Brunch” content.

At the 1:37 mark of this video, another “Only@Brunch” co-host, Jesse Budlong, attacked Trig Palin, the son of Governor Sarah Palin and her husband Todd, with tasteless and unjustified bullying (for being a toddler with Down Syndrome). This attack arose while the “Only@Brunch” cast bullied Congresswoman Michele Bachmann because of her gender and physical appearance — and resulted in five minutes of these gay men mocking her looks in a video that Sidetrack aired in the Main Bar area of this Chicago gay establishment (the most prominent placement Sidetrack could give this bullying, in the most prominent gay venue in the country).

As a gay man living and working here in Chicago, I am ashamed of the way leaders of the gay community, such as Sidetrack’s owners  Art Johnston and Jose Pepin “Pepe” Pena, consistently engage in hypocrisy like this.

Because of articles I wrote here on HillBuzz.org about this outrage, “Only@Brunch” was forced to issue a statement acknowledging the tasteless and unjustifiable nature of its bullying attack. Subsequently, “Only@Brunch” edited out its mocking of Trig Palin from the video it currently features on YouTube, but retained the five minutes of bullying directed at Congresswoman Bachmann. Sidetrack and its owners have made no apology whatsoever for providing this bullying a venue in which to air publicly before a large crowd.

Trig Palin is a common target for bullying attacks in the gay community, with venues such as Sidetrack airing videos that mock him and others with special needs for the way they were born.  Similarly, Sidetrack has a long and documented history of brutally bullying women, Christians, and people with conservative political beliefs.  Sidetrack features a weekly Thursday “Laugh Track Comedy Night”, which Bradley Thomas Balof often hosts, that invariably includes sexist and misogynistic attacks on Christian women such as Congresswoman Bachmann, Governor Sarah Palin, Governor Jan Brewer, columnist Ann Coulter, and others. Sidetrack is the only gay bar in Chicago that engages in this sort of orchestrated, endemic bullying on its video screens, I think because it’s the biggest bar in town and regularly attracts celebrities like Ben Cohen for events.

Since they believe they can get away with this, and possess so much political and economic clout, Sidetrack’s owners Johnston and Pena apparently see no problem with hosting an anti-bullying event on August 30th, 2011 (in which conservatives and Christians will be scolded for allegedly bullying gay people) after airing the “Only@Brunch” video on August 16th, 2011 (which showcased gay people bullying a special needs child and women who are conservative and Christian).

The hypocrisy is obvious and glaring — and does a great disservice to the Ben Cohen Standup Foundation because it’s certainly an affront to the published mission of dedication “solely to the cause of anti-bullying, wherever and to whomever it occurs”. Except when gay people are doing the bullying, and the victims are a toddler with Down Syndrome and Christian women the gay community doesn’t like, it would seem.

On a very personal level, Ms. Cattrall, I need to tell you that I have friends in New York City who have volunteered with God’s Love We Deliver and have gotten to know you, somewhat, through its own mission. My friends tell me you are hardworking, gracious, and truly committed to the causes you endorse.  You are, they assure me, the real deal and no fan of hypocrisy. In New York, I’m told you are often an angel that rescues many a fundraising event, often agreeing to appear at the very last minute if another speaker falls through or something important is not getting enough attention. Seeing Kim Cattrall attached to anything means the organization involved deserves the public’s support and confidence. There aren’t words to properly thank you for all you do, for so very many.

For the last five days, I have been asking for an explanation from the Ben Cohen Standup Foundation for why Mr. Cohen remains scheduled to appear at Sidetrack the Video Bar here in Chicago on August 30th, 2011 after Sidetrack so egregiously aired a clear bullying attack on Trig Palin, Congresswoman Bachmann, and others on August 16th, 2011. I have corresponded with, and spoken to over the phone, Patrick Davis, the President of the Ben Cohen Standup Foundation on multiple occasions.  While incredibly polite and unfailingly professional, Mr. Davis has STILL not explained to me why the Foundation is rewarding Sidetrack’s bad behavior with a personal appearance by Mr. Cohen.  Sidetrack stands to make a great deal of money August 30th, because Mr. Cohen is a sought-after sex symbol in the gay community that draws large, thirsty, crowds to any bar he visits.

Can you please contact Mr. Patrick Davis at the Ben Cohen Standup Foundation (404-347-7778 or Patrick@BenCohenUSA.com) and ask him to explain why Mr. Cohen is choosing to abandon his pledge to standup to bullying “wherever and to whomever it occurs” by appearing in a venue that fosters bullying here in Chicago’s gay community?

I have spent the last week drawing attention to the fact that bullying towards special needs children, conservatives, Christians, and women is ongoing at Sidetrack the Video Bar here in Chicago and is a very serious problem in our community exacerbated by Sidetrack’s owners Johnston and Pena.

If Mr. Cohen chooses to honor his scheduled appearance at Sidetrack next Tuesday August 30th, 2011, he’s clearly voiding the Foundation’s mission and encouraging this sort of bullying committed by the gay community in Chicago to amplify nationwide.

It’s a bigger issue than just something happening here in Chicago, because this act of hypocrisy will permanently undermine the Foundation’s mission and will cast doubt on its “anti-bullying wherever and to whomever it occurs” core tenet.

Thank you Ms. Cattrall for involving yourself in this matter and inquiring of Mr. Cohen and Mr. Davis exactly what’s going on here, and how the August 30th appearance at Sidetrack complements the stated mission of the Ben Cohen Standup Foundation.

The Chick-fil-A haters

Posted at August 24, 2011 by Bridget // Climate of Hate, Gay Bullying, Hillbuzz, Hypocrisy, Identity Politics, The Left

On any given day (except Sunday), the drive through line at a Chick-fil-A restaurant may be a mile long….at least it always seems to be in Aiken or North Augusta or Columbia ,South Carolina.  I don’t mind waiting though because there’s nothing like a Chick-fil-A sandwich.  Anyone who says that they hate Chick-fil-A has obviously not had one of their sandwiches, but there are those who truly do hate the restaurant chain and it’s not because of their food.  Those haters are the liberals who are protesting the fact that Chick-fil-A’s founder, 93 year old Truett  Cathy, is a gracious, generous, Christian southern gentleman with good old fashioned values.  For instance, you will never find a Chick-fil-A open on a Sunday.  His employees are carefully screened to make sure they are just the kind of person Mr. Cathy wants working for him (cheerful, friendly and courteous).  Chick-fil-A always has the cream of the crop of employees in the fast food business.  Mr. Cathy gives millions and millions of dollars to an employee college scholarship fund…his employees love him. He’s been honored by the Children’s Hunger Fund, and won the Horatio Alger award and the William E. Simon Prize for Philanthropic Leadership, for his charity.

Mr. Cathy also gives money to such college groups as the Campus Crusade for Christ and nothing gets a liberals panties in a wad faster than to say the “C” word….as in Christ.  They are claiming that Mr. Cathy and the entire Chick-fil-A chain are anti-gay…simply because the founder is a Christian.  When a Chick-fil-A opened in Chicago last year, protesters from the organization getequal.org began a campaign to “stop the hate” and distributed fliers that called the restaurant “Bigot-fil-A”.

This is hypocrisy…pure and simple.  They are protesting against Mr. Cathy just because he is a Christian….not because he said or did anything against the gay community( because he has never said anything anti-gay).  Mr. Cathy is a kind and loving man who welcomes anyone into his restaurants and he is very loved and respected…especially in the South.  Why is it that if you are a Christian then you are automatically labelled as anti-gay?  If you are a conservative, then you are anti-black, anti-Latino, anti-gay etc.

Are the American people going to see through all the smoke and mirrors of the left’s identity politics?  Hopefully.

In the meantime…the liberals can keep on protesting Chick-fil-A because that means there’s less people in line at the drive-through at noon.

I LOVE Chick-fil-A
