Michael Crichton on environmentalism as a religion
I’m beginning to appreciate what a colossal loss the world suffered with the death of author Michael Crichton.
Someone sent me his book State of Fear, which I just started reading.
It seems Crichton was prophetic and ahead of the pack in terms of recognizing the Anthropogenic Global Warming cult for what it is, and for connecting it to the wider “religion of environmentalism” that permeates the Left.
I want to learn more about Crichton’s thoughts and writings on the subject.

For a long time, I’ve called the global warming alarmists “Al Gore’s Anthropogenic Global Warming Cult”, but I like Barone’s “global warming religion” term better. It’s easier to use and really drives home the point that the Left has created a new religion for itself chock full of all the things the Left supposedly hates about actual religion.
Barone notes that the AGW cultists loudly advocate the purchasing of carbon credits in much the same way that corrupt Church officials in medieval times encouraged buying “indulgences” to offset any sins committed by the faithful. This is – exactly – what the AGW cultists are doing with their carbon credit scheme, but instead of the indulgence treasure heading to the Vatican, it’s going to people like Al Gore who conceived this modern day indulgence racket.
Barone does a great job of making other connections between the Left’s new cult and the medieval Catholic Church.
Something he doesn’t address is the Inquisition, which fits in very well with any discussion of the Left’s methods and means. The Left has long cultivated and operated goon squads programmed to annihilate heretics and threats to the Left, particularly those who speak out against the AGW cult and Al Gore’s carbon credits/indulgences scheme.
I think Barone’s piece will play a big part in arguments to come against the Left; it’s worth your time and full of material that’s ready-made for the big turning point that’s upon us in terms of ending the AGW cult completely in the next year or so.
Democrat Westboro Hate Group Celebrates Steve Jobs’ Cancer Death By Tweeting From Their iPhones
I am not making this up.
The self-described “Westboro Baptist Church,” led by hardcore Democrat Fred Phelps, marked the tragic cancer death of Apple visionary Steve Jobs by tweeting about it from their iPhones. They plan to protest at his funeral.
Steve Jobs co-founded Apple Computer, co-founded Pixar, and led the development of the Mac, the iPhone, the iPod, the iPad, and revolutionized the computer industry, the music industry, the publishing industry, computer retailing, and industrial design. He created the technology that made it possible for the Westboro Hate Group to quickly and easily spew their insanity out to their deranged followers.

As Kevin DuJan has reported, Westboro Hate Group leader Fred Phelps is a three-time Democrat candidate for Governor, and his family are major supporters of Al Gore.
The Westboro Hate Group is the same fringe outfit that shows up to protest at the funerals of fallen American servicemen and women.

Rep. John Lewis dissed at Occupy Atlanta
Not everyone in Atlanta gets all fired up when John Lewis is in town. Lewis showed up at the Occupy Atlanta protests this weekend expecting to be embraced by the crowd but was given the big thumbs down. I think Lewis was fully expecting to take the podium and get the crowd riled up…a la civil rights style…but he was turned down flat. The protesters said that Lewis didn’t represent anything they were protesting….which has become increasingly unclear. Some of the protesters were there to protest under regulation of the financial sector…some were protesting the inability to identify with either Dems or Republicans….some were there protesting the unethical treatment of animals. It was just a protest free-for-all. I think the original message of Occupy Wall Street has been lost and people are now just protesting for the hell of it. It didn’t take these unorganized dissidents long to lose their way.
Even though John Lewis claims he isn’t angry about not having the red carpet rolled out for him….I’m sure this was a BIG poke in the eye for him. I don’t think he looks very happy….do you?
Lewis is thinking..."these white fools don't know what their missing".
A few of the protesters weren’t very happy about how Lewis was treated. One college student had this to say…
“I am angry because this is not what democracy is all about,” said Michelle Williams to CBS Atlanta. Williams had came to support the movement but left in disgust after seeing the treatment of Rep. Lewis.
“This is Marxist more Stalin like. Your movement, you’re just riff-raff. You’re an organized mob.”

Fox is reporting that the Department of Justice, at the request of Obama, has filed an appeal to block Alabama’s new immigration law.
The Obama administration asked an appeals court on Friday to block the enforcement of Alabama’s strict immigration law — widely considered to be the toughest in the nation — arguing it invites discrimination against foreign-born citizens and legal immigrants and is at odds with federal policy.
What federal policy? You mean the one that the government won’t enforce? Oh, they must mean the federal policy that is to “look the other way and allow millions and millions of illegal aliens to flood over our border so that they can take advantage of our country and push us to the brink of bankruptcy.”
Alabama is ignoring the appeal. Woo Hoo!
The Justice Department’s appeal said parts of the law conflict with federal rules, and that “attempts to drive aliens `off the grid’ will only impede the removal process established by federal law.” It also said the legislation could impact diplomatic relations with foreign countries.”Alabama is not in a position to answer to other nations for the consequences of its policy,” it said. “That is the responsibility of the federal government, which speaks for all the states and must ensure that the consequences of one state’s foray in to the realm of immigration law are not visited upon the nation as a whole.”
What? Did they just say that this legislation could impact the diplomatic relations that we have with foreign countries? Really?
Did Eric Holder and Obama worry about diplomatic relations when they authorized Fast and Furious…allowing hundreds of assault weapons to walk into Mexico so that Mexican citizens could be murdered? I bet that did wonders for our relationship with Mexico.
You would think that the Justice Department would want to lay low right now and NOT get involved with anything Mexican but I guess this is the obligatory liberal pro-illegal game plan so Holder has to get involved.
God forbid a rogue state like Alabama would actually want to try and defend it’s sovereignty.

Many “Occupy Wall Street” protesters aren’t really protesting.

The guy in this video calls himself “The Lotion Man” (yuck). I haven’t been paying much attention to this whole “occupy Wall Street” protest that’s happening because I think it’s a planned diversion to what’s really going on in Washington…mainly…Fast and Furious, Solyndra, Lightsquared and the Chicago style thuggery that’s occupying our White House. If the Obama administration can divert the nations attention away from the shenanigans going on in Washington, then we will move on to other things. Historically, the American people do suffer from attention deficit disorder but there seems to be a never ending stream of evidence of corruption. It’s like Christmas morning every day…something bright and shiny in every new document that Rep. Issa discovers.
While watching the above video I realized something. Most of these protesters have no clue what Wall Street is all about. I bet most are just there because it’s their day off and they have nothing else to do.
Here’s a likely conversation between 2 of them….
One of them probably said to another “Hey, what are you doing today?”
The other said “Nothing much.”
“Let’s go down to Wall Street and hang out and see if we can get on TV.”
“Oh, cool!”
“We’ll need to make a protest sign so we’ll get noticed. What are they protesting?”
”I have no idea but we can go on Youtube and find out.”
”Good idea. This will be fun.”
This “lotion man” isn’t really protesting anything…or at least he really isn’t protesting Wall Street. He’s just there to get his 15 minutes of fame and to plug his YouTube channel (The Lotion Man….please don’t give him any traffic…he gives me the creeps). I wonder if he was paid to be there? I wonder how many of these people are getting paid to be there? I bet the poor gentleman who he’s verbally attacking just happened into this guys freakshow. There are probably only a hand full of “protesters” that are actually protesting Wall Street…the rest are just there because they want to be on camera.
This creep in the video made one statement about half way through the clip that caught my attention…
” I got off drugs.”
I think this just about sums up most of the “protesters”.

Fast and Furious update: Has our government now become gun dealers?
I wanted to do a Fast and Furious update but there is VERY little to report….according to the main stream media. I found almost nothing new on the case in the media but I did find something very interesting over at Newsmax and this story just adds to the already confusing information coming out of the investigation into Project Gunrunner and the Fast and Furious debacle. According to Senator Grassley, who along with Rep. Issa, is heading up the investigation, there is new evidence that government agents illegally sold guns directly to the “underworld”. This is different than Fast and Furious where legal gun store owners sold assault weapons to shady Mexican drug cartel members so they could (supposedly) be traced back to the higher-ups in the cartel. This new evidence shows that actual government agents were the ones doing the gun dealing.
(Newsmax)“It’s hard to distinguish between the two, but evidence has come out that the orders came down from Justice that our agents were supposed to take taxpayers money, buy guns that shouldn’t have been sold, get them to the underworld,” the Iowa Republican told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren. “The sale was made to the underworld. It happens to be that in this particular case, the federal government made a little bit of money, but that’s not the main issue.
“The main issue is that you would think they would arrest the people that bought them illegally — no, they were told to just follow the guns — they followed the guns to a storehouse. They would not have 24-hour surveillance except for one of the agents decided to stay there six days,” Grassley said. “And I don’t know when — but anyway — a truck came along to load up the guns. They called for help to arrest them in the process of transferring the guns, but they wouldn’t send anybody to arrest them, so the guns got over — got some place, maybe over the border — and they were never traced, which was the purpose of the operation in the first place.”
I’m not sure if the “underworld” involves Mexican bad-guys but my guess would be yes. This is getting even crazier than it was 6 months ago. Of course the Justice Department (and I use the term “Justice” loosely) is completely stonewalling the investigation. They are in very hot water because the evidence shows that the orders came directly from the DOJ to the ATF and money was exchanged so that the ATF could buy a load of assault weapons and then turn around and sell them directly to the “underworld”….at a profit. How thoughtful of them to make some money off of the deal. Just like Fast and Furious, these guns were supposed to be followed back to the bigger and badder guys…and just like Fast and Furious, NO guns were followed.
Are you confused yet? I am. The muddy waters of this investigation will, one day, start to clear and the whole truth will emerge. What this truth is and how high up in this criminal Administration it goes remains to be seen.
Will Holder take the fall for Obama?
