Standing Up To Bullies
Author’s Note: Starting today, all GOP candidates I want to win will be labeled with the title, “GOP Frontrunner,” regardless of where they place in polls, how well they do in debates, and even whether or not they’re in the race. If it’s good enough for the government-controlled media, it’s good enough for me.
You all know I’m a libertarian, and thus, my preferred GOP candidates are GOP Frontrunner Governor Gary Johnson, the very successful former chief executive of New Mexico, and GOP Frontrunner Rep. Ron Paul, the 11-term congressman from Texas who is an expert in Constitutional economics and monetary policy.
However, though I disagree with her on some issues, I’m also a big fan of GOP Frontrunner Sarah Palin–mostly because Sarah Palin is so damn good at making Leftist heads explode. She’s particularly good at forcing bigoted, hypocritical Lefty feminists to out themselves as anti-woman (if that woman is a conservative).
Same thing with GOP Frontrunner Herman Cain. I first heard of Herman when he guest-hosted the Neal Boortz radio show out of Atlanta, and I’ve loved him ever since. Again, I disagree with Herman on some issues. But now Herman has revealed that he has the same special mystical powers that Sarah Palin has–he can make Lefty heads explode, and make Leftist black race pimps reveal themselves as the bigots they are.
It’s delicious! And so fun to watch!
And Herman’s efforts are starting to pay off, as revealed in this opinion piece in the Boston Herald: Herman Cain’s got the liberals squirmin’.
Herman Cain, a black guy, is the new darling of the Tea Party — the very party that liberals have labeled racist since it was born.
(Of course, you and I know that GOP Frontrunner Herman Cain isn’t the “new” darling of “The Tea Party.” He’s been speaking at Tea Party events for years. But back to the story…)
How to explain this disturbing turn of events? How will liberals deride Tea Partiers now? And since so many felt so good about themselves after voting for Barack Obama (who is biracial), how good might white independents feel after voting for Cain (who’s 100 percent black?)
Cain’s just a black poster boy, a plant to deflect racist charges aimed at the GOP. That’s the dismissive line that’s all over left-leaning blogs and that I actually heard said Sunday at the Brattle Theater, Harvard Square. Of course.
The self-satisfied, enthralled with the Occupy Wall Street crowd, have had to wrestle with an obvious contradiction. They first called Tea Partiers racists because so few blacks went to Tea Party rallies. Hardly any blacks are occupying Wall Street either.
Whoops! It looks like some accurate reportage has snuck into this opinion piece. It looks increasingly like we may have a “random act of journalism” on our hands, as Rush calls it.
So tonight is New Hampshire’s GOP debate. Cain has climbed to second behind Mitt Romney in national polls and so gets to stand beside “Mittens,” as some detractors now call our beatific former governor, the Wall Street turnaround guy. Alas, Romney’s now facing the Main Street turnaround guy, Herman Cain, he of the booming baritone and the all-American rise from Pillsbury to Burger King to pizza tycoon. [emphasis added]
“Mittens” — another one of Kevin DuJan’s memes has caught on!
Just by existing, pulling himself up by his bootstraps, and being a conservative, Herman Cain is helping to flush out race pimps like Harry Belafonte, interviewed here by the sadly misnamed Joy Behar:
Yes…the liberals are squirming, indeed. Thank you, GOP Frontrunner Herman Cain!
I did a few segments on “The Fireside Room with Dick and Mary” this morning.
Dick and Mary Ervasti are incredibly kind people broadcasting out of Minnesota, and were gracious enough to have me on talking about voter fraud in Illinois and what people could do in their regular lives to help address election irregularities in their own states.
What’s happening is that the Left steals just a few votes in every precinct in a state, but statewide this accummulates into numbers large enough to swing close elctions.
Minnesota’s been having trouble with this for years, but the problem is that regular people on the ground just assume “someone” is making sure voter fraud doesn’t happen, or that the Cocktail Party GOP establishment is there to keep Democrats from rigging elections.
We all know the Cocktail Party GOP establishment, however, is terrified of challenging Democrats regarding vote tampering because Republicans have been conditioned to expect being called RAAACISTS! whenever they even remotely call for election reform.
That’s how Democrats protect the Left’s racket in this. They bully and intimidate the Cocktail Party establishment, which is very easy to do since the Cocktail Party really doesn’t want to win elections in many cases anyway. It’s much easier, and prosperous for the entrenched elite, to perpetually be the party out of power so that it never has to make tough decisions or become unpopular in the media.
None of this will change until people start seeing themselves as “somebody”…as in “somebody should do something about this”.
Well, YOU are somebody. And if you want to do something about it, start going to www.DefendtheVote.com and become a Vote Defender to do SOMETHING about it!
Our good friend Patricia sent in the following email exchange that recently transpired between a neighbor, Anne, and herself, with Anne engaging in attacks on Governor Sarah Palin that seem oddly familiar…because they’re almost word-for-word lifted from the media’s usual talking points.
Patricia is no shrinking violet and didn’t take any gruff from Anne. She defended Governor Palin and debated Anne in a calm and reasoned way, which drove Anne into emotional territory where she stooped to expletives and other irrationality that just made her look foolish (more so than usual, according to Patricia).
I’ve reprinted the exchange below to give you an idea how YOU too can counter these tired and familiar attacks on Governor Palin, whether they come to you in email exchanges or happen in the grocery store, at the park, or in the coffee room at the office.
You’re going to keep seeing this same garbage recycled repeatedly for the next year…so it’s important to get in your own mindset to refudiate it.
Defend the Vote is an organization here in Illinois founded to empower citizens to protect the integrity of elections.
Shockingly, many Americans believe “somebody” is making sure the Left doesn’t tamper with elections results, using Big Labor, the Black Panthers, or other George Soros-funded goon squads to commit massive voter fraud. The unions in particular are engaged heavily in election tampering, since the unions need to elect Democrats to office so Democrats can ensure the unions bleed taxpayers for as much as possible in various union contracts.
Illinois is arguably the most corrupt state in the union when it comes to elections.
If Defend the Vote can audit the election process here in the belly of the curropt-o-beast, then perhaps we can be a test case for the rest of the nation to follow to TAKE BACK OUR ELECTIONS from the Leftist crooks who have gamed the system.
PLEASE read Defend the Vote’s latest press release detailing efforts to audit Illinois’ election process and hopefully you’ll get some ideas on how YOU can get a ball like this rolling in your own home state.
Do you have a few minutes today to chime in with ideas and/or do some research to help answer the following question: How does the Left link being conservative, Christian, and Republican all together?
We see this all the time in the media, where there’s almost no commas separating the conservative, Christian, and Republican in the above. They all get lumped in there together, as if it’s a conservative-Christian-Republican identity with iron bands instead of hyphens.
I had a conversation with a reporter here in Chicago recently where he kept arguing the media doesn’t think like this, but he himself is consistently guilty of assuming that just because someone is conservative that person is a Christian as well, when the person could be a conservative Jew or Buddhist. A conservative also doesn’t have to identify as a Republican, and not all people who vote for people with (R) after their names are conservative or Christian at all.
But the media has created a label that’s stitched indelibly as conservative-Christian-Republican, and all three words are applied consistently to someone with even one of the attributes, whether they all apply or not.
Have you noticed this?
If YOU were sitting down to breakfast with a reporter and he claimed this does not happen — that people on the Left do not use the words “conservative”, “Christian”, and “Republican” as synonyms in their consistent speech — what would you say to refute his assertion?
Can you find some good examples in the media of “conservative”, “Christian”, and “Republican” either being fused together into one long sesquipedalian label or brandished haphazardly about as casual synonyms for one another?
Your help is greatly appreciated in proving this point to a reporter who’s actually willing to listen on this.
What happens when a local gay icon and prominent gay business discriminates against a Christian because of his religion?
There’s an interesting situation brewing here in Chicago that’s been occupying a lot of my attention since May for personal reasons…which you will probably start hearing about nationally very soon.
One of the big gay icons here in Boystown owns a very prominent business that discriminates against Christians. Specifically, the employees of this business target gay men who are Christian and tell them that they are not wanted as customers of the business. “Their kind” isn’t wanted inside, to quote the staff.
If management and staff figure out one of the employees is himself both gay and Christian — and that guy refuses to renounce Christ and follow the gay community’s fiat to trash his religious upbringing and religious family — then that gay Christian employee suffers relentless emotional, psychological, and even physical abuse (including a favorite trick where the staff rev customers up to harass the gay Christian worker, so the business can claim they “can’t control what customers do to anyone”. Wink, wink, nod, giggle). You will be absolutely horrified when you hear what happens to a gay Christian man working at a prominent gay business in Boystown owned by a man who is often referred to as “Chicago’s Harvey Milk”.
This is an interesting situation because both the business itself and the owner have gone on public record numerous times blasting conservatives for various alleged assaults on the rights of gays. It could even be well-argued that the businessman in question created a very successful cottage industry attacking Republicans as intolerant and claiming various religious groups discriminated against gays.
In the 2010 governor’s race here in Illinois, this business prominently displayed large signs claiming GOP candidate Bill Brady was a bigot and that he hated the gay community. This is standard operating procedure for the Left regarding elections here in Illinois, where the gay community is trotted out into the rainbow spotlight every few years to point fingers and call names, maligning conservatives as loudly as possible. It never matters that there’s no proof of any wrongdoing…and few people calling the likes of Brady a bigot even know what he’s alleged to have done to warrant the treatment. “He’s a Republican” is usually enough for most people in Boystown.
Today I’m wondering if you know of any other instances nationally where gay icons, businesses, groups, or gay-supporting media figures have discriminated against Christians.
Can someone continue to claim to be a victim and martyr if that person has now become a bully him or herself?
As we gear up for the 2012 election, the Left will count heavily on the gay community to do its duty and scream and yell every name they can think of at conservatives.
But, how seriously would the nation take these people if gay leaders and prominent businesses and groups were revealed to be hypocrites of the highest order? Claiming they are discriminated against by the religious, while discriminating against religious gays with abandon?
I have said this many times here on HB and wherever else my work has been published: I have been treated far better by conservatives as a gay man than I have been treated by the gay community as a Christian.
Have you had similar experiences or know of people who have?
There will be a lot more about this at the end of summer, into the fall…and it would be great to have your help putting it all into a wider perspective.
We’ve all heard it, the constant pounding of pundits and the news media telling us that white people, especially those in “The South,” are racists. Living in Maryland, I’m surrounded by a lot of these socially elite liberals who know that they are right about everything, especially when it comes to who is a racist.
I’m Lakota (an American Indian nation called Sioux), living off-Rez in Annapolis, Maryland. Having heard the incessant drumbeat that “Southern whites Are Racists,” I was apprehensive when my company sent me to a small town in southern Georgia to help with a project there. Some of my liberal Maryland neighbors warned me that I would face racial ignorance in southern Georgia.
I’ve spent three weeks so far in Warner Robins, Georgia. The group that I joined has been together for a year. It’s made up of three blacks, one Hispanic, and nine multiple-generation “Southern” whites and self-described “Georgia Crackers,” and now one red man (me).
I was amazed at the absence of the racism I had been pre-programmed to expect by the northern liberals and the news media. When I was in grocery stores and other public places, I saw no racial problems. In fact, everyone was free and easy in how they interacted. Everyone accepted my red skin and spirit hair (pony tail). Some people politely asked about the medicine bag hanging from my neck, a sign of my religion. In fact, the people in Warner Robins, Georgia, made me feel more socially free than I do when I’m home in Maryland!
We need to push back against the people in the media who repeat the meme that whites are racist. Saying that all whites are guilty of racism because of their skin tone is as wrong as saying that all blacks are criminals, or all red men are drunks. All of that is stereotyping, and prejudiced, and wrong!
One day at work, when I was alone with the youngest black engineer on the project, I said, “Before coming here, I was told to expect racism. Instead, I find more than friendship between the races; I see genuine love and affection in the team for everyone.”
He replied, “We’re family here.”
“So what should I tell my liberal neighbors back in Maryland?” I asked.
“Maybe you should tell them that they are prejudiced against southerners who are actually good people,” my black co-worker said. “Maybe they need to look into the mirror to see actual racism.”
Hillbuzz Blue Team Action Alert: Does White House Propaganda Job Violate Hatch Act and/or FEC Regulations?
As a one-time civil servant, I am well aware of the local and State laws that are intended to prevent government employees from doing electioneering and/or partisan work while on the clock.
So I was stunned to read that the White House — not the Democrat National Committee or Obama’s campaign organization — had hired a civil servant to “squash negative stories” about The Messiah, Our Dear Leader, in “a more aggressive defense of the president and his policies as his re-election campaign gears up,” according to the Huffington Post.
Notice, the descriptions of this new position* don’t refer to the “Director of Progressive Media & Online Response” in terms of correcting inaccuracies (i.e. “fact checking”) but in terms of deleting opposition speech (i.e. “reality checking” and “liberty checking.”)
In other words, the position of “Director of Progressive Media & Online Response” is entirely partisan and election-related.
The White House’s new Troll In Chief, Jesse Lee, launched his official government twitter account with the photo of the killer robot you see above (which would also kind of be a copyright violation, wouldn’t it? When used for official government business, as opposed to “fair use” in satire?)
With just a little Googling, I managed to find references to The Hatch Act, which regulates election activities by government employees on the Federal level.
Here’s the language from the official form you use to report violations of the Hatch Act:
The Hatch Act prohibits federal, District of Columbia, some state and local and nonprofit organization employees from
engaging in certain types of political activities. See 5 U.S.C. §§ 7321- 7326 and 5 U.S.C. §§ 1501-1508.
Federal Employees are generally prohibited from:
1. Using their official authority or influence for the purpose of interfering with or affecting the result of an election.
2. Soliciting, accepting, or receiving political contributions (with some exceptions).
3. Running for nomination or as candidates for partisan political office.
4. Soliciting or discouraging the participation in political activity of any person who has business before their
5. Engaging in political activity while on duty, in any room or building occupied in the discharge of official duties,
while wearing a uniform or official insignia, or while using a vehicle owned or leased by the United States
Now, I’m not a lawyer. But I do know that Hillbuzz is read by thousands of people in the Washington, DC area, where lawyers (especially election lawyers) are thick on the ground.
So someone out there can explain to us whether Jesse Lee’s new gig is a violation of the Hatch Act and/or Federal election laws.
And if it is, please feel free to submit your findings on this official form from the Office of Special Counsel.
Blue Team: Activate!
*Apparently the only job ever actually “saved or created” by the Obama administration, according to a commenter on TwitPic, which made us LOL.
Hat tip to alert Hillbuzz reader In DC Troll for this remarkable tidbit at Media Bistro:
The White House has named Jesse Lee to a new position within its communications department titled Director of Progressive Media & Online Response. According to The Huffington Post, Lee will essentially be responsible for building up Obama’s online presence as he prepares for his reelection bid, and squashing any negative stories.
Yes, you heard right! The most open and transparent American administration in history now has a paid-by-taxpayers staffer whose job it is to “monitor” “new media” outlets–like Hillbuzz, for example–to eliminate online criticism of The Won. Makes sense, when you think about it, since the Lamestream Media is already entirely in the tank for Barak Hussein Obama, who is not a Muslim. The only place you will find
criticism accurate reporting about the Obama Regime is online or on talk radio.
This position isn’t funded by the Democrat National Committee or Teh Won’s re-election campaign. It’s an official White House position, a government job, funded by the taxpayers of America, to stifle your First Amendment rights.
Jesse Lee is apparently taking his new position very seriously, if his first tweet is any indication:
How can this possibly be legal? How can a civil servant be working on a re-election campaign from inside the White House? This may be an excellent question for your Senators and Representative.
Here’s an easy Action Item for the Blue Team (Research).
Videos are incredibly powerful when it comes to influencing public opinion. We all have friends and family members we can’t talk to about politics, but maybe we can reach them with comedy. And we all just need to laugh sometimes, too, to keep up our own morale.
We’d like to build a library of pro-America, pro-Tea Party, anti-Leftist videos to include with our Daily Open Threads. They don’t have to be tied to a specific candidate. But they do have to be clever, thought-provoking, and ideally, educational. Something that may demonstrate to a “moderate” or “independent” friend how dangerous BHO and his policies are to America.
So, the next time you’re on YouTube, take a couple of minutes to search for inspirational/entertaining videos, and post them in this thread.
Here’s a good one to start:
