New York Post: Obama Looking for Dirt on Chris Christy

Posted at May 23, 2011 by Kathleen Gee // 2012 Elections, Cocktail Party GOP, Common Leftist Attacks, Conservativism, Consistent Mistakes, Debate Prep, Hillbuzz, Lamestream Media, Refudiate Media Attacks, Tea Party, The American Reistance

New Jersey Governor Chris Christy Terrifies the White HouseWho’s the Obama team most afraid of? Fearless conservative and libertarian leaders who tell it like it is, regardless of the political fallout. Leaders like:

  • Sarah Palin
  • Herman Cain
  • Ron Paul

And the latest to get the “evil eye” from the White House is New Jersey governor Chris Christy, according to the New York Post.

Despite New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s repeated pronouncements that he will not seek the GOP presidential nomination, Obama operatives are compiling a dossier of what they call “opposition research” — material that could be used to damage Christie if he changes his mind, The Post has learned.

The Obama campaign is trying to keep its efforts from public view, concerned they would only elevate Christie’s already impressive standing within the Republican Party, sources said.

…Christie’s spokesman Mike DuHaime said, “This is just wishful thinking … He is not running, and he is not cracking the door open even a little bit.”

But the efforts of the Obama camp were flattering, DuHaime said. He added that it was “an acknowledgment that Christie is a bold leader successfully taking on big challenges as governor. A leader who cuts spending and takes on the special interests tends to earn notice at the highest levels.”

You can bet that the Obama re-election team’s activities are totally poll-driven. They may be evil, but they’re (unfortunately) not stupid.

If the GOP  were “winning-elections”-driven instead of “hobnobbing-at-the-best-cocktail-parties”-driven, they would have noticed that the seminar callers and opposition research isn’t focused on “it’s his turn,” cucumber-and-mayo candidates like Mittens Romney or T-Paw. Why? Because the Obama team knows they’re beatable.

No, the concern trolls, seminar callers and opposition research team (i.e. Mainstream Media) are ramping up attacks against declared candidates Herman Cain and Ron Paul (actually, Ron is just as frequently attacked by Establishment Republicans in violation of the Reagan Doctrine). And preemptive strikes are aimed at potential candidates Sarah Palin (okay, they’ve never stopped, not for one day since 2008) and Chris Christie.

Team Obama is terrified that a real statesman (or stateswoman) who puts America first and a political career second will be nominated by the GOP.

They were terrified of Trump, because Trump tells it like it is, with no concern whatsoever about raising money or getting re-elected. They are terrified of Herman Cain for the same reason. Herman Cain is retired, has a great family, and doesn’t care about a second term as President. He won’t start running his re-election campaign in February, 2013. Instead, he’ll start fixing the country and undoing the damage inflicted by our non-Marxist, non-Muslim post-racial President.

The Leftists and Mainstream Media (redundancy alert) are absolutely determined to pick John McCain II on our behalf. It is up to Conservatives, Libertarians, Independents, Reagan Democrats, and Tea Party Republicans to take ownership of the primary process, do our own vetting, ignore the Mainstream Media, and nominate a no-B.S. leader who loves American more than he or she loves the idea of a second term and attending the best cocktail parties.

Concern Trolls vs Eeyores: Can You Spot the Difference?

Posted at May 21, 2011 by HillBuzz // 2012 Elections, Alinsky Methods, Common Leftist Attacks, Debate Prep, Eeyore Breeding, Hillbuzz, The American Reistance, Troll Dissection 101

(Moderator’s Note: The following guidelines for dealing with Concern Trolls and Eeyores are excerpted from a post by Kevin DuJan that originally ran on January 10, 2010. As the 2012 election process gets underway, it’s vitally important for members of the American Resistance to be able to spot and eliminate Concern Trolls and Eeyores, both online and in real life.)

Kevin DuJan, Editor & Founder of HillBuzz.org

Some of you have asked us to further explain the difference between Concern Trolls and Eeyores.  Well, here goes.

Concern Troll = someone who posts on a board, forum, or article and says things like:

* “You know, I really like Scott Brown, but it’s Massachusetts, and even though he’s had a surge, it’s Massachusetts, so we should stop phone-banking or working hard and just give up. It’s Massachusetts”.

* “Oh, I’ve been so proud of how hard Hillary Clinton has been fighting, but there’s no way she’s going to win Ohio.  This is the best board ever, and we all love Hillary, but I heard on MSNBC that Obama has it all sewed up, so for the good of the party she should just quit and drop out of the race.  I like her, but I think we need to just give up now.”

* “You know, I didn’t like Sarah Palin at first, but then, wow, she gave a great speech at the convention and I think she has a good heart.  Such cute kids, too!  But, really, I hate to say she’s not ready yet to be Vice President, but she’s not.  I think we just need to accept that and move on”.

Concern Trolls use a lot of “I Statements”, the kind bad therapists tell sociopaths to use more of so that they trick parole boards into releasing them.  “I think”, “I feel”, “I believe”, etc.  They have a three-pronged, four or five sentence max, little system:

(A) Establish some positive connection to whatever the thread is about, but using “I Statements” to say things like:  “I like Scott Brown”, “I didn’t like Sarah Palin at first but”, “I’ve been so proud of Hillary Clinton”, etc.  The example about Palin is good because one of the other things they try to do is establish some sort of false-honesty by seemingly admitting something to the board, so that they generate a fake credibility, among other oxymorons.  “I didn’t like her at first, but, now I do, and I’ve thus established you can trust me because I shared that secret, now listen to me when I tell you to sit your butts home and let Democrats win.  Otay?  Buh-bye!”

(B) Tell everyone they all worked hard and note how impressed the troll is with all of you (“This is the best board ever!”), and then express “concern” that people are getting their hopes up too much and that people need to not waste their energy on the task at hand.  “We’ve all worked hard, but now it is time to give up and do nothing so that Democrats can catchup and beat us”.

(C) Flat-out, using “I Statements”, tell everyone to just give up, but without making imperative statements that would come off as commands and piss people off.  So, they don’t say, “You have to just stop and give up now so Democrats can win”.  Instead, they say, “I think we’re all just really tired.  We put up a good fight.  But the Boston Globe poll says Coakley’s ahead by 15 points, and it is Massachusetts, so we should just all put our diapers on, sit in the corner, and fill them, all day, doing nothing productive, until someone can come and change us.  That’s what I am going to do, and I have been the biggest supporter of our candidate ever.  I love this board!”

Concern trolls are often, but not always, paid operatives who quite possibly work in little boutique PR and Public Strategies consulting firms in major cities.  Chicago has DOZENS of these.  We know — we’ve worked in these offices.  Where do you think we learned everything we tell you?

********

Eeyores are different from Concern Trolls even if the end result is the same, to demoralize supporters of one candidate so the other candidate can win.

We came up with the term Eeyores to describe people in our ranks during the Clinton campaign who would depress other volunteers with their pessimism, negativity, and “there’s no way we can win!” nonsense.  These are people who get all their news from CNN and MSNBC without realizing that CNN and MSNBC have agendas and deliberately lie to push them.

Eeyores LOVE emailing people negative articles.  It’s sick, actually.

Concern trolls WANT you to give  up; Eeyores don’t want you to give up and don’t want the opponent to win, but don’t realize they are sabotaging all efforts you’re making.

Concern Trolls DELIBERATELY lower morale.

Eeyores lower morale unintentionally.

They just can’t shut their damn mouths and need to keep venting their pessimism, spreading their little black rainclouds everywhere.  It’s frustrating.

Eeyores are actually FAR MORE DANGEROUS and harder to deal with, because they are often your friends.  In our case, with Hillary Clinton, Eeyores were people we liked very much — but the time and energy it took to keep these people propped up, and to talk them down off ledges they got on whenever Tim Russert starting bellowing “Just quit already!” really distracted us from other things we needed to do.

It cost us AT LEAST three essays a day we could have written…about 100 phone calls a day we could have made…or just plain old sleep we missed because we were refuting, bit by bit, everything the MSNBC/CNN propaganda machine was putting out there to discourage Hillary’s voters and lower our turnout on election day.

Exhausting!

HillBuzz itself, this site, exists because of Eeyores, actually.  It’s why we started this site, because the constant emails from 50 or so of these people on our list of 500 volunteers took so much time to address that we just started posting what we would have written to these people individually on this site.  We never intended this to be a national site.  It was strictly for Chicago Hillary volunteers, so we could share articles to refute what the MSM propaganda machine was doing, and to give people tips to fight Concern Trolls and combat Eeyorism in their own midst.

(Moderator’s Note: We’re re-running this Concern Trolls vs Eeyores identification guide because of a comment that came in today. Is it a concern troll? An Eeyore? A totally innocent reader just sharing his honest opinion? Should we delete it, or allow it to stand? Would you have recognized this as “trolling” before you became a Hillbuzz reader? Have you ever written anything like it yourself? Do you find it demoralizing? Hillbuzzers, please examine the following comment and share your critique. Please explain your reasoning.)

Thank you for the invite to post here boyz. I am a Romney supporter, and after being blasted…actually savaged here by many of you Palin supporters, I have opted not to have any further discussions on this site. While I understand that Palin is your number one choice for the nominations, the continuing barrage of insults to any other potential Presidential candidates (“soggy cucumber sandwiches”) has become not only tiresome, but offensive. Even worse, the insults I and others have had to endure from Palin supporters has only fed the reputations that Palin supporters can be the nastiest political group of people in cyberspace.

I am not trying to be intentionally mean or condescending here, only honest about my feeling about Hillbuzz for the past year or so. Since I found this site before the 2008 elections, I have enjoyed reading the various commentaries. I even wrote to Rush Limbaugh urging him to check out his site. I was even delighted to hear him mention it only a few days later on his radio show.

Since Obama was elected, I have been a little perplexed by the nonstop Palin worship going on here, especially with how I was viciously attacked for not supporting her to run for President out of concern that independent voters would not back her, handing four more years to Obama. The attacks were nonstop and relentless. I could not have a rational discuss on this site anymore. That’s it why I stopped posting.

If you have noticed that traffic on this site has dwindled, perhaps you should take note that the Palin supporters here need to tone down their rhetoric and be respectful to those who don’t support a Palin run for the Presidency. This site has a lot of potential and should be more welcoming to those who support different candidates. Perhaps then again, this is exactly what is article is all about.

So…what’s your verdict? Was this comment written by a Concern Troll, Eeyore, or Innocent Bystander?

Brilliant “Concern Troll” Exposé at BigJournalism.com

Posted at May 19, 2011 by Kathleen Gee // 2012 Elections, Alinsky Methods, Common Leftist Attacks, Debate Prep, Hillbuzz, Tea Party, The American Reistance, Troll Dissection 101

H/T to longtime HB reader Marian for alerting us to this exceptional post at BigJournalism.com:

MSM Fail: Week after ‘Atlantic’ Concern-Trolls Palin Supporters, Gallup Has Her in 2nd Place

If you’re new to Hillbuzz, “concern trolling” may be a new one on you. Please refer back to one of Kevin DuJan’s brilliant Troll Dissection 101 posts to learn how to pick these trolls apart.

The “Concern Troll” is typically a Democrat National Committee, ACORN, SEIU or Soros-funded operative who is paid to sit in his mom’s basement in his Incredible Hulk Underoos and post fraudulent comments on blogs like Hillbuzz.

The ultimate goal of a Concern Troll is to get Barry Sotero Barak Hussein Obama re-elected and/or destroy the American way of life. Concern Trolls accomplish this by impersonating Conservative, GOP, Libertarian and Tea Party voters who love (Sarah Palin/Herman Cain/a Balanced Budget Amendment/killing Obamacare/saving America) but are (concerned/worried/upset/unsure/doubtful/afraid) that (she’s not serious/it’s too hard/the media won’t like us/I’ll lose my Facebook friends/he’s unelectable/we can’t win).

Concern trolls are paid to post comments that will:

  1. Demoralize the American Resistance
  2. Suppress Conservative, GOP, Libertarian and Tea Party voter turnout
  3. Sow strife and create arguments between Conservative, GOP, Libertarian and Tea Party voters so they attack each other instead of the Left

Most real Concern Trolls are bought and paid for by the Left (often using money that was extorted from rank-and-file union members in the form of dues that are then donated to outfits like the DNC.) It is literally their job to conduct PsyOps campaigns against you, the typical Hillbuzz reader who loves America.

Unfortunately, there are plenty of people in the Cocktail Party who sound like Concern Trolls when they’re discussing “declassé, low-brow, unserious, unelectable” candidates like Herman Cain and Sarah Palin. (And unfortunately, the GOP versions of concern trolls are such saps that they do it for free.)

Concern trolls are dangerous because they’re effective. But like cockroaches, they scatter when exposed to sunlight…so be sure you know how to recognize them and stamp them out wherever you encounter them.

This Year’s LSM Meme is….

Posted at May 17, 2011 by HillBuzz // 2012 Elections, Common Leftist Attacks, Debate Prep, Hillbuzz, Lamestream Media, Refudiate Media Attacks, Tea Party, The American Reistance

What’s a meme? It’s the cognitive equivalent of a “gene.” The term was coined by evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins to describe the units of thought or concepts that are passed between people. Memes that resonate with people tend to “go viral.”

The Lamestream Media’s 2012 GOP Primary Meme has emerged. A couple of elections ago, the Lamestream Media’s Meme was “George Bush Lacks Gravitas.” Since 2008, the “She’s So Polarizing” meme has been cultivated and used against Sarah Palin.

This year’s GOP Meme is “You’re Not SERIOUS.” Interestingly, it’s only used against candidates who poll extremely well, and actually have a statistical ability to beat Obama, according to polls of likely voters.

In the “bad is good, up is down” world created by the Lamestream Media, “serious” means “not a threat” and “not serious” means “Oh, sh*t. They’ll clean Obama’s clock.”

If you pay attention to cable news political coverage, it won’t take you long to uncover examples like this:

“Sure, it’s quaint how Ron Paul always votes against unconstitutional legislation, and it’s amusing how Ron thinks our currency should be backed with something of value, and, yes, it’s interesting how he correctly predicted the housing bubble and collapse of the Dollar 35 years ago. [Insert sigh and dismissive hand wave]. But…you know, Ron Paul just isn’t a serious candidate for President.”

Here’s a handy scorecard to help you keep track:

“Serious” GOP Contenders (as defined by the LSM)

  • Mitt Romney
  • Mitch Danels
  • Tim Pawlenty
  • Newt Gingrich
  • Donald Trump
  • John McCain
  • Mike Huckabee
  • Bob Dole
  • A 6′ tall stack of old Yellow Pages left next to the recycling bin back behind the TV station

Embarassingly Un-Serious GOP Contenders That We Can’t Believe We’re Forced to Waste Time Covering, Because Surely, Don’t We All Agree They’re Totally Unelectable? Move along, nothing to see here… (as defined by the LSM)

  • Sarah Palin
  • Ron Paul
  • Herman Cain
  • Michelle Bachmann

Keep your ears open…and it won’t take you long to notice who the LSM’s “serious GOP contender” is today.

UPDATE: H/T to libertarian talk show host Neal Boortz, for noting that the “You’re Not Serious” meme is now being spread by RINO Cocktail Party supporters, not just the LSM.

Alleged Conservative blogger and radio host Hugh Hewitt is eager to help the LSM suppress “non-serious” GOP candidates. In a recent blog post (which we refuse to link to because we don’t want to send him any traffic), Hewett said (emphasis added),

This is why the GOP needs to rethink its debate schedule and why the RNC should take over the operation of the debates and exile Cain, Johnson and Paul as well as every other candidate without a prayer of winning. (Santorum is a long shot, but he has a realistic though small chance of winning the nomination, while the others do not.) The seriousness of the fiscal crisis requires the GOP and its candidates to act seriously, and allowing marginal candidates to eat up time and distract from the enormous problems facing the country is not serious.

“Electability” is a characteristic that can only be identified in retrospect…by voters…after an election.

With “friends” like Hugh Hewett, who needs enemies?

Hatemail of the Day: More terrible spelling from people who irrationally hate Governor Sarah Palin

Posted at February 11, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Common Leftist Attacks, Debate Prep, Hillbuzz, Sarah Palin, Troll Dissection 101
The Daily Beast article Shushannah Walshe ran today on gay support for Governor Sarah Palin generated more of the irrational hatemail Leftists enjoy sending us.  My favorite part of this is how bad the spelling always is from these people and how they just parrot the same lies and generalities Chris Matthews, Anderson Cooper, and Rachel Maddow feed them on the TV.
I’m not sure who “La Pelin” is, but maybe that’s a dig at the Governor in a foreign language.  I think it means “absinthe” in French, which maybe the Governor will be accused of inventing, after she’s accused of perfecting time-travel.  Give the Left enough time and they’ll ultimately blame the Governor for everything, of course.
I’m also not sure who “Reagand” is.  It’s close to the name of a former president, but maybe it’s a cartoon character I’m not aware of.  With the Left, you can never be sure. Or, is that “sured”, with the redundant (d) at the end? Either for (d)emocrat or (d)ummy, which is still operating on the theme of redundant.
What are inmigrants? Do they bother to apply for the proper visas and complete the other required paperwork, or are they just more of the reconquista invaders who believe our laws don’t apply to them, even though they originate in a country like Mexico that has immigration rules aimed at its southern neighbors that are 100 times more strict than those in the United States?

Hello:
How could you think this inept woman is in favor of all “rights”.? She does not believe in abortion, she wants to dismantle the Health Care Program, she is the poster girl for the Tea Party, she believes in guns that kills people, she could be prejudiced, racist and anti inmigrant but she does not disclose it. And she can also be anti gay marriage although she claims being open minded about some gays.
This woman could run for the President of this country, if Reagand and Bush the torturer did it, why not her? Ill bet you would vote for her,
Good luck,

Governor Sarah Palin stands up for GOProud’s right to be at CPAC…what else can we say to refute attacks against her that call her anti-gay?

Posted at February 7, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Action Items, Common Leftist Attacks, Debate Prep, Hillbuzz, Purple Team - Palin, Refudiate Media Attacks, Sarah Palin, Standing Up To Bullies, Surrogate Speaking, Tea Party

Here in Boystown, there’s a concerted effort underway to paint Governor Sarah Palin as the second coming of Anita Bryant.

Even though few in Boystown remember much about Bryant, other than that she was Harvey Milk’s nemesis in the 2008 film “Milk”.

And most of them only saw that because they heard from a friend James Franco is fleetingly naked here and there throughout the movie.

The largest and most popular bar here in Boystown is Sidetrack, which is owned by two gay men who hate Governor Palin with a passion.  So much so that on the “Thursday Comedy Night” immediately after the Gabrielle Giffords shooting in January, Sidetrack ran a 20-minute hatefest against Governor Palin, showing clips from SNL mocking her, and culminating with a weird and violent parody of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” where Kate Gosselin and her children pick up assault rifles and begin a Hatfield & McCoy gun battle with Governor Palin and her brood.

I’m proud to say that so many people thought it was disgusting and in poor taste, immediately after the Tucson shootings, that they got up and left the bar.

Today, BreitbartTV has a bit about Governor Palin standing up for gay conservatives who want to participate in CPAC, but are being shunned by idiots in the Cocktail Party.

Governor Palin consistently stands up for gay rights, in much the same way Dick Cheney, Laura Bush, and most recently, Barbara Bush, have done.

And yet, places like Sidetrack continue to promote their agenda of villainizing Governor Palin into an Anita Bryant-esque nemesis, out to get gays and harm us…like Cruella de Vil tooling the country after dalmations.

This is the meme the gay community wants to run against Palin, tapping into a reservoir of anti-woman and anti-conservative sentiment in places like Boystown, where low-information voters parrot what the media and people like Anderson Cooper, Tina Fey, Kathy Griffin, Margaret Cho, and Dan Savage tell them.

For those of you who don’t care what the gay community says or does, think about how the Left uses gays to shape popular culture.  Each of the Democrat constituency identity blocs is used for a specific purpose.  None of these blocs are particularly liked by the Left, but they are tolerated because they are useful to the Left’s cause.  Jews are kept on the Democrat reservation because they can raise money the Left needs to fuel its agenda.  Blacks are kept on the reservation so they are forever able to scream RAAACISM! to shutdown debate and intimidate conservatives, who are terrified of being called racists.  Gays are used for creative, pop culture, and humor attacks on conservatives…since what happens in Boystown doesn’t ever stay in Boystown, but eventually trickles down to YOUR TOWN in the form of whatever new fad gays have concocted that penetrated the mainstream.

An effective use of our time this week is to compile the standard attacks the gay community most often makes against Governor Palin…and refudiate all of them, point by point, in debate team style form.

If we work together to assemble this, and we note the times Governor Palin has stood up for the gay community, we can create debate cards that we’ll have ready on an ongoing basis as people across the country prepare to surrogate speak for the Governor in the 2012 election.

The new HillBuzz.org site that’s coming in a week or so will have a special page devoted to this sort of debate prep…so that when entities like Sidetrack here in Boystown engage in 20-minute hates against the Governor (driving their own customers away, because they go so far to villainize her), people will have an easy way to refudiate them.  Our hope is to make the Debate Prep page so easy to use you could just pull it up on your phone if ever you are in a situation where you would need to.

It’s going to be a lot of hard work researching all of this and putting together an easy-to-use resource that will help people become confident and capable surrogate speakers for not only the Governor, but for conservatism in general.  Having the facts at ready access, and being practiced in debate, will enable you to shut a lot of haters down…since they don’t know the facts, only what they heard Anderson Cooper or Kathy Griffin say “on the TV”.

Either chime in on the thread below with good examples of attacks you’ve heard the gay community make on Governor Palin, or other standard attacks made against her, along with concrete facts that refudiate them.

Or, you can email us your research at HillBuzz@gmail.com

Let’s set a goal of having this resource completed by Friday, as our gift to Governor Palin and her supporters at large during “All-Palin-February”.

Hatemail of the Day: An excellent way to begin Debate Prep for the new site

Posted at January 28, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // Common Leftist Attacks, Debate Prep, Hillbuzz, Standing Up To Bullies, Troll Dissection 101

One of the big sections we’re planning for the new HillBuzz site that’s coming in February is DEBATE PREP, where we’ll dissect the things Leftists and haters most commonly say to disparage and attack Governor Palin and her family.

We all need to learn to effectively counter this garbage in witty, calm, and creative ways that are filled with facts and never respond with the same sort of irrationality and hateful emotion the Left aims at all of us.

Here’s a piece of hatemail from the spam filter this morning, sent in by “J. Sims”:

Click to embiggen the ravings of a basement troll

QUESTIONS:

(1) What’s the best way to handle this person if he/she said this to you in public, in front of a group?

(2) Which of the many hateful things that he rattled off would you address first?

(3) How comfortable are you with responding to things like this (be honest)?

(4) What points would you make about the Governor and to what audience are you speaking (ie, are you going to try to convince this hater to hate the Governor less, or are you going to appeal to the rational people around him in a way that makes him seem truly crazy and gives them a good portrait of a reasoned Palin supporter?)?.

What think you?
