Herman Cain schools Lawrence O’Donnell

(this is part 1 of last nights show)

I wanted to get these videos up earlier today but didn’t have time before work.  You guys have been talking about it in the Open Thread so I thought I’d get something “official” posted on it.  I watched the entire thing last night on MSNBC….it’s hard for me to watch Lawrence O’Donnell because I always expect him to sprout horns and grab his pitchfork.  I think he’s a very evil person and he gives me the creeps but I will always watch Herman Cain so I tuned in last night.  Herman was simply awesome.  This man knows his stuff and he has a very natural way of explaining his plan to get this country out of the hell hole we’ve fallen into.  There’s so many parts of this interview to talk about that I’ll leave it up to you guys to comment below on your favorite parts but I’ll just say one thing that I got out of it….  Herman Cain is a very smart man.  I don’t think the liberals know quite how to deal with a black man who is so personable, engaging,  pro-America and NOT liberal.

Here’s part 2 and 3 of  last nights show…..

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykG_QkgJ7zM

I can’t find the ending of the interview ( nobody has posted it yet on YouTube) but let me just sum it up for you.  Herman Cain left Lawrence O’Donnell wishing that he had chosen to interview Mitt Romney….who would have kowtowed and apologized about everything and basically made himself and the Republican party  look mushy-gushy and weak.  Herman gave Lawrence hell and did it with a smile on his face.  You can’t help but like him and his ideas are very sound and sensible.  He’s someone that most Americans can connect with and this must  scare Obama and his re-election campaign.

Growing up and living in the South my whole life…I have been listening to Herman Cain for years on WSB 750 and I have been a BIG  Herman fan for a very long time.  He is the man with the plan…plain and simple.

I just ordered my Cain 2012 bumper sticker.

I’m joining his campaign.

CBS’ 60 Minutes points out the insanity of our corporate tax rate.

Posted at August 16, 2011 by HillBuzz // Conservativism, Domestic Policy, Hillbuzz, Hypocrisy, Mission, Political Figures, Political Figures - The Left, The Economy, The Left, White House Policy

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxgezC4KhXQ

Did you watch 60 Minutes this past Sunday?  Lesley Stahl did a segment on overseas tax havens.  I thought she did a pretty fair job of reporting but I don’t think she intended it to come off the way it did.  I’m sure CBS was trying to vilify the big evil American corporations (you know….the ones who own all those corporate jets that Obama complains about).  They want us to be outraged that these companies are cheating our government but instead, they illustrated the insanity of our corporate tax law.  Who can blame these companies for wanting to escape being pick-pocketed by our government?  We all get  robbed every April 15th and we’d try to avoid it if we could.

We have the 2nd highest corporate tax rate in the world (just behind Japan).  Why would any company want to do business here? Why is it so hard for our government to see that if they lowered the corporate tax rate then these companies would come back to the US…….and bingo…..job creation.   Instead, Obama is constantly saying “big corporations need to pay their fair share.”   We need to allow these companies to transfer their billions back to the US at a one-time low rate (say 5%) so they could then move the companies back here.

Imagine how Obama’s base would howl if he proposed this?  They just don’t get it.  They just don’t get that these big companies employ thousands and thousands of people…and right now, these people aren’t American citizens….they are the citizens of countries like Switzerland and Ireland.  We need to bring these companies back here so Americans can have these jobs.

Wisconsin Democrat Recall: Let’s get out the vote for the GOP

Posted at August 16, 2011 by HillBuzz // Conservativism, Hillbuzz, Mission, Tea Party, The American Reistance

Last Tuesday was the recall elections for 6 Republican state senators in Wisconsin.  The dems needed 3 wins to take control of the senate but they only got 2….a BIG win in Wisconsin for the GOP.  Today is the recall elections for 2 Democrat senators…2 of the prominent “fleebaggers” that left the state last February so they could avoid the vote on Governor Walkers collective bargaining bill.  These 2 guys (Jim Holperin and Bob Wirch) are weasels and I would LOVE to see at least one of them ousted.  Kim Simac is challenging Jim Holperin and she is definitely our kind of “HillBuzz” gal.  She is a great conservative “hockey” mom.  This race could very well go our way but it will be a nail biter.   Jonathan Steitz is the conservative candidate challenging Bob Wirch…Wirch is predicted to win but it should be close.   For some reason…Wirch is one who annoys me in particular.  He annoys me in the way that Harry Reid annoys me.   I’m trying to come up with the right word to describe them but all I can think of is….bland.  Like two big bowls of  cold overcooked oatmeal. Yuck.

It’s critical that we push for a Republican “Get Out the Vote” effort.  This would make a huge statement to the Democrats and the unions if the GOP picked up at least one more seat in the senate.

It should be very exciting.  For all our readers in Wisconsin…keep us posted on what’s happening on the ground.

I love election day…..

It somehow feels like Superbowl Sunday.

Give him more time because the “Change” is a coming.

Posted at August 5, 2011 by HillBuzz // 2012 Elections, Climate of Hate, Conservativism, Hillbuzz, Mission, Political Figures, Political Figures - The Left, Tea Party, The American Reistance, The Left

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqOjFceX6Oc

This is the speech that Obama gave at his Birthday/Fundraising bash on August 3rd in Chicago.  The audio isn’t great so you may have to turn up the volume.  It’s his same old sweeping rhetoric.  “I am going to save the world…part the seas…cure cancer”  blah-blah-blah.  He whines about how hard it’s been to be president….how big a mess he inherited…how he needs more time to get things done.  He’s preaching to his congregation…these are his peeps yet this is a slightly different Obama than 3 years ago.  He looks tired…sounds tired…and the crowd seems less enthusiastic.   It’s sort of like watching the Rolling Stones halftime show at the Superbowl back in 2006.  Same old songs sung by the same old Mick Jagger but they just didn’t sound the same.  Old and tired…with a lot less energy and electricity in the air.

Around about the 8:40 mark in the video Obama says ” When I said ‘Change you can believe in I didn’t say change you can believe in tomorrow or change you can believe in next week.  We have this big messy tough democracy'”

Yes…Obama hates a big messy tough Democracy.  He would prefer a dictatorship.  He’s not accustomed to compromise.

So…it appears that his new campaign slogan has emerged.

“Change we can believe in….just don’t expect it next week because I have those damned Republicans to deal with.“

Stock Market down 333 points right now.

Posted at August 4, 2011 by HillBuzz // 2012 Elections, Conservativism, Domestic Policy, Hillbuzz, Mission, Political Figures, Tea Party, The American Reistance, The Economy, The Left, White House Policy

The big stock sell off continues.  Why?  Well there are several of reasons.

1.  Traders, fearing equities, were looking for something a little safer such as Treasury bonds thus igniting a massive stock selling spree.

2. There’s a lot of uneasiness about the unemployment numbers due to come out tomorrow.

3.  Energy stocks fell sharply because of fears that the demand for energy may decrease.

4. One of the best predictors of how the economy is doing is to look at how gold is doing….it’s skyrocketing (hope you bought into it early) so this means things are very dicey right now.

5. Many believe that QE3 has already begun.  What is QE3 exactly? I had a vague idea but wanted a more detailed answer so I don’t look like a total dummy (the financial system isn’t my strong area so I am a dummy).  Here’s what I found out about QE3…

The short answer is QE3 stands for Quantitative Easing (round) 3.   The Federal Reserve can stimulate the economy using any number of tools.  Quantitative easing is just one of them.

The Feds can  lower interest rates but our interest rates are already very low so they need to do something else…..enter QE1.  This was the first round of quantitative easing which was another name for the Wall Street bailout (remember that one?).   In the Fall of 2010, the Feds decided that our economy wasn’t growing fast enough so they decided to give it a good kick in the ass by buying Treasury Bonds ( a ton of them)…this was QE2.  It helped a little but again…not enough.   We are now moving into QE3 (since the other 2 worked soooo well).  No one knows for sure what QE3 will entail…well, no one but Obama, Timothy Geithner, Ben Bernanke and I’m sure a handful of Obama faithfuls.  One thing is for sure…more and more money will be printed and will flood the market making the dollar worth less and less.

The bottom line?  The markets…both here and abroad…are very nervous.  Investors have very itchy trigger fingers and they aren’t afraid to sell sell sell.

Unfortunately, too many Americans thought that since the intense debt debate had been “solved” and Obama had his allowance raised, their problems were over.  Obama will send them more Obama money so they can go get their groceries or medicine or what ever they buy with their welfare checks… but what they will soon realize is that the money they get won’t buy them as much as it used to.   Medicare checks won’t buy seniors as much as it used to either.  College tuition will continue to rise so Pell grants won’t cover as much and students will begin to feel the pinch very soon.

Sooner or later…people are going to catch on ( well…I’m hoping that they do).   When Mary gets her $450 welfare check next month and she goes to the grocery store to buy food but instead of a cart of groceries costing $200, it costs $250 because the price of everything has gone up, she will take note.  She’s going to have to cut back….and she will start complaining that she needs more money because she can’t afford the beer and cigarettes anymore.  Then what?  Everyone who counts on the government to support their very existence will be screaming for more money.  Obama money isn’t going very far anymore  so are we going to have to borrow more money?  Raise the debt ceiling even higher?  You bet we are…..unless…

We get someone in the White House who knows what the hell they are doing.

We need JOB CREATION.

That’s the only way this country can be saved.

***I really have no business writing about financial things…and I really shouldn’t be trying to explain them so I apologize if I screwed up anything in the above post.  Feel free to correct me…and educate me.  I need it!

GOP Plan vs Harry Reid’s Plan

Posted at July 25, 2011 by HillBuzz // 2012 Elections, Conservativism, Hillbuzz, Identity Politics, Mission, Politicizing, Tea Party, The American Reistance, The Economy, The Left, White House Policy

Today…Harry Reid presented his  debt plan and the GOP presented their debt plan today.  Of course, each side doesn’t like the others sides plan.  I think this leaves us in the same place we have been…..nowhere.

Here are the basic points of Harry Reid’s plan (as best I can tell)

1. His  plan doesn’t reform entitlements…at all.

2. His plan counts on a lot of savings from the withdrawal of our troops from Iraq and Afghanistan. (a big gamble, I think)

3. His plan counts heavily on discretionary spending cuts.

4. His plan doesn’t include tax increases. (I’m suspicious of this one)

5. His plan will carry through until the end of 2012…and the elections.

The Republican leadership has just announced their plan so I am still trying to learn the specifics.  It isn’t exactly cut-cap-balance but it’s close (according to Speaker Boehner).  It only increases the debt ceiling by $900 billion.  They also generate revenue by cutting discretionary spending by 1.2 trillion.

The big difference is that Obama is demanding that the plan extends through the end of 2012 (and through the elections) and the GOP’s plan only carries through until early 2012.

I think Harry Reid’s plan has a lot of “fuzzy” math involved and basically tries to  throw a bone to both sides….no tax increases to please the GOP and no debt debate again until after the 2012 elections to please the White House.  Reid is such a mealy mouthed schmuck…I have a very hard time watching him.  Listen to his news conference (given just a few hours ago).  He blames the Tea Party “extremist” for controlling the GOP and  says that these extremists are ignoring what the American people want. (Warning…grab your barf bag before hitting the play button)

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zlccqr_Jbo

Hey Harry…..these “extremists” are the American people and it is YOU and your goons who are ignoring us.

From what I can tell by listening to the beltway pundits on TV right now, neither side is going to go for the other’s solution.   It looks like they will be heading back to the drawing board unless someone surprises (or disappoints)  us.

Obama is addressing the nation AGAIN tonight at 9pm.

What can we expect him to say?   I’m sure he’ll say that he is the reasonable mature one and it’s the Republican leadership that’s holding our nation hostage.

I feel like we are hostages right now and it’s Obama who’s writing the ransom note.

A Welshman from Harvard speaks of American Exceptionalism

Posted at June 10, 2011 by HillBuzz // Conservativism, Hillbuzz, Mission, ObamaCare, The Economy, White House Policy

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCY2FKVgqCA

A couple of weeks ago, I had the honor and privilege to attend  graduation ceremonies at Harvard.  I was so impressed with the many speakers that gave speeches that day but none were as wonderful as Adam Price, a welshman who gave the Graduate English Address.  All I can say is….wow!  His love and respect for America brought tears to my eyes.  I was in awe that a man from Wales could speak so patriotically about a country that wasn’t his homeland.  He spoke about what makes America great…individualism.  That we must work together but never lose our identity.  America is the land of opportunity…where anything is possible.  We can forge our own paths and make our own destiny.

None of this will  be possible if our Government stands in our way.  Big government creates small people….which is just what the Obama administration is moving us towards…..a nanny state where everyone is dependent on the government for everything.  The government wants to watch our every move and regulate  just about everything we do.  They want to tell us what car to drive and what kind of foods we can and can’t eat.  Isn’t this what we call slavery?  How ironic… the first black president wants to bring back slavery.

Adam Price gets it.

The best part?…..Adam got a rousing standing ovation that lasted several minutes.  Even though we were sitting in Harvard Yard….on one of the most liberal campuses  in the country, I felt like everyone there got it too.

Bravo Mr. Price!

There is hope.

A United Front

Posted at May 18, 2011 by HillBuzz // 2012 Elections, Climate of Hate, Conservativism, Hillbuzz, Mission, Tea Party, The Left

Already the mud is flying in the 2012 GOP field and we’re still 15 months away from the 2012 Republican National Convention.  I know that all of this is normal and to be expected.  Everyone has a favorite person that they would like to see as president.   Some candidates are more conservative than others.  Some have more economic experience while others have more foreign policy experience.  Some have a less than perfect family history while others have a fairytale marriage with great children.   I think that the one thing the candidates have in common is a desire to pull this country back from the brink of socialistic disaster.   For this reason, we need to applaud them… even if we don’t agree on all the issues.

The left is just salivating over the infighting that they expect will happen during the Republican primaries.  There will be fighting…that is to be expected… but at the end of the day, what’s important is that we stand behind the Republican nominee…no matter who it is.   It may not be your favorite candidate but one thing is for sure…the Republican nominee, if elected, will begin restoring this great country.  They will put the brakes on the socialistic train we’ve been on for the last 2 years.   America is exceptional and I am confident that all of the GOP candidates believe that.

HillBuzz is a site for political analysis and debate.  While the overall favorite candidate is Sarah Palin, it doesn’t mean that you can only post if you’re a Palin cheerleader.  An Eeyore- free zone just means that we would like to see more positive comments about the candidates instead of only candidate bashing.  If you feel like a certain person is not the right candidate then feel free to give us your reasons.  This is Kevin’s site…I am only a guest contributor…but I don’t think we want to get into such strict moderation that we become “thought police”.  I only moderate comments that are either threatening or use profane language.

I think the most powerful message we can send to the left is that no matter what….we will all go to the polls on November 6, 2012 and check the box for whoever the Republican candidate is.  They want us to be fractured over the nominees and pushing for a third party write-in vote is music to their ears so we have to be united in our mission to defeat Obama in 2012.

On 1/20/2013… we will all be celebrating. Period.

Georgia’s Governor Nathan Deal…a man on a mission.

Posted at April 26, 2011 by HillBuzz // Conservativism, Hillbuzz, Mission, Red Team - Writing

Governor Nathan Deal

Since I live in the south, I’ve been following what the Governor’s and the state legislatures have been doing and what bills they are signing into law.  For example, South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley just signed into law a bill that requires a roll call on every bit of legislation…as it should be.  Alabama’s Governor Robert Bentley is poised to sign a new bill that would crackdown on illegal immigration.   All these things are happening quietly but they are happening… which is why it is so important to have good and sane state legislators.

So…I’ve been watching Georgia’s Governor Nathan Deal and I am very impressed with what has been happening.  Georgia is, no doubt, a red state, but Governor Deal is making it a very red state….no purple to be found anywhere.  Here are some of the bills that he has signed (or will sign)  into law so far…

H.B 461: The Interstate Health Care Compact-  Georgia will now be able to enter into compacts with other states to create a joint health care system.  This will nullify several provisions of Obamacare for states that are in the compact.

H.B. 87: This is Georgia’s  illegal immigration crackdown law.  It will allow police to check for proof of citizenship for certain criminal offenders and detain anyone who is in the country illegally.  Needless to say…there have been protests by many pro-illegal immigrant groups.   An activist group based out of Philadelphia, The Diversity Projekt, has set up camp in Atlanta and are claiming that this bill is supported by the KKK.  All that is needed now is for Governor Deal to sign the bill into law.  I can’t see any reason why he wouldn’t sign the bill since he supported anti-illegal measures while he was in Congress.  Keep your fingers crossed.

S.B. 79: This bill allows Governor Deal to remove members of the Atlanta Public School Board if they fail to reach their goals for accreditation by September of this year.  That may not sound like a big deal to most but it’s a very big deal in Atlanta.  The Atlanta public school district  is about as corrupt as they come and they are currently on probation.  The school district is under investigation for cheating on the CRCT’s, a nationally required achievement test.  Several school employees have admitted to changing test scores and school officials are suspected of participating in a massive cover-up.  The district superintendent, Beverly Hall, won National Superintendent of the Year in 2009 but has since been placed under investigation with the rest of the district for the cheating scandal.   SB 79 will allow Governor Deal to remove the members of the school board if they don’t clean up their act by September.  This will be very interesting to watch.

There are other smaller bills that Governor Deal has signed that indicate that he is the “real Deal” (sorry…I just had to say it).  Hopefully he will continue on this path.

For those of you who live in Georgia, I encourage you to write to Governor Deal and let him know that he’s doing a great job.

Here’s his contact info:

Email Contact Form

Phone: 404-656-1776

The Governor’s who are doing the right thing for their states (and our country) need our support.  If you like what your Governor and state legislators are doing….let them know.

Consider this a Red Team Action Item.

Have seen “Atlas Shrugged” three times in theaters now…and love it more each time

Posted at April 22, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // 2012 Presidential Campaign, Action Items, Activism, American Artemis, Cocktail Party GOP, Conservativism, Consistent Mistakes, Enabling the Left, Featured Books, Gold Team - Creativity, Mission, Sarah Palin, Standing Up To Bullies, Tea Party, The American Reistance, The Economy, Unions

image

I don’t want to write a review of “Atlas Shrugged”, the film or the book, until more people have seen them…and until I have reread the full book again myself.

But I wanted to tell you that the first filmed production of Ayn Rand’s work is so interesting and inspiring I have now seen it three times, with three different sets of people, and every time the audience cheers out loud as Dagny Taggart dresses down the communists, fools, union goons, and corruptocrats plaguing her drive to successfully run her family’s business.

There are two scenes in particular you will love, I hope, as much as I do: when Dagny eviscerates a union goon and when she puts her idiot, Obama voter brother in his place.

The union goon walks into Dagny’s office and she promptly tells him to get out. He gins up the usual union threats against a business, and Dagny tells him to shut up and lets the thug know she will not be bullied and that this will not be business as usual appeasing the unions. Dagny tells the union to, essentially, commit anatomically-impossible acts upon itself…while the audience HUNGERS for corporate executives nationwide to “Go Rogue” like Dagny and tell the unions plaguing them to do the same.

And then there is how Dagny handles her idiot brother…the sort of “big thinker” who would have bought into all of Obama’s hopeychangey hooey and who still pulls the Democrat lever in elections without realizing the ultimate disastrous personal and economic consequences of those decisions. Dagny walks in on the fool playing with a model train set in his office, during the middle of the day, when he should be working. She unplugs his toy, then berates his stupidity and tells him what she is going to do to fix his mistakes.

THIS is how Americans coast to coast need to “Go Rogue” when dealing with both the Left and the Cocktail Party GOP establishment.

Unplug these fools from their sources of power and influence.

Take away their toys and tools.

Demand actual grown-up solutions to the nation’s problems, administered by grown-ups, with hard work and determined thought involved.

I left the theater every time I have seen “Atlas Shrugged” with two things in mind:

(1) working towards taking away the Left’s, the unions’, and the Cocktail Party GOP establishment’s stranglehold on this country and…

(2) making more people see it is time to stand up and become Dagny Taggarts in their own way.

The way people like Governor Sarah Palin and others do.

It isn’t easy. It takes guts. We certainly know what we are up against.

But the country we love is worth it.

QUESTION: Have you seen the movie yet?  Did it inspire you?

ACTION: How do we foster a nationwide Resistance to the Left and its allies by encouraging an uprising of millions of Dagny Taggarts coast to coast?

What think you?
