At last: Lee Roupas finally resigns as Cook County GOP Chair, after a disgraceful tenure in which the Cocktail Party refused to fire this longtime “Romney Guy”
There’s great news in Chicago today.
Republican News Watch is reporting that disgraced Cook County GOP Chair Lee Roupas has at last resigned, and has now been replaced by Sig Vaznelis, who appears to be someone more up to actually doing something worthwhile in his position.
The reason this is interesting for those of you far from Chicago is that it’s classic Cocktail Party GOP establishment nature to protect guys like Roupas no matter how badly they perform, because these guys are being groomed to replace Cocktail Party guys higher up the cucumber and mayonnaise chain, ensuring the status quo remains the same in Republican ranks indefinitely.
This is what America’s really up against, on a national scale, because every GOP entity at the state, county, and local level is more likely than not run by people who hold these positions for the sheer prestige and honor of holding the position. They are not interested, at all, in winning elections. They just want to look fancy in their sharp blue blazers and hand out the nicest, most expensive business cards at networking events.
When one of these guys screws things up royally — as Roupas did repeatedly — the Cocktail Party GOP establishment circles the wagons and protects him for as long as possible, instead of firing him straight away and finding someone more competent who could actually work towards winning elections. The reasoning in the Cocktail Party ranks is that if any one of them is ever dragged out of office, it could mean the rest of them would be vulnerable like that as well.
This makes the Republican Party’s organization — coast to coast — more like an exclusive fraternity than a political organization focused on winning elections. In many cases, like here in Chicago, the GOP doesn’t even want to TRY to win elections. Republicans didn’t even bother to field a candidate for Mayor in this spring’s election. Roupas and the rest of the Cocktail Party boys here were more focused on planning their next networking event, because they’re only involved with the GOP to see how this involvement can advance and enrich their own personal careers.
They have fun at events, they like posing for pictures, and they use the connections they make in the GOP to build lucrative careers for themselves…just like they’d do in a fraternity at an Ivy League school.
The older fraternity members protect and mentor the younger ones, and donors to the Republican Party at every level fund all of this, even though guys like Roupas have no real intention of ever doing anything to stop the Left or beat Democrats at the ballot box.
In case you haven’t figured it out, guys like Roupas are the biggest supporters of Mittens “Mood Ring” Romneycare because Romney would undoubtedly give them all well-paying, fancy-titled positions on his presidential campaign. No one really cares if Romney will win or not, because they’re just after new business cards that prove they were important to the campaign, so they can use all this on their resumes for better jobs the next year.
I know nothing about Sig Vaznelis, but there’s no way he can do a worse job as Cook County Chair than Roupas.
But, as bad as Roupas was, I’m sure you’ll see him pop up somewhere again, maybe in another state, since the Cocktail Party tends to recycle these guys and give them endless mulligans whenever and wherever they fail.
Which 2012 presidential candidate has the personality traits voters want to remedy all they dislike about Obama?
Since voters who disapprove of a president tend to seek a replacement in the next election with the OPPOSITE characteristics and traits, it’s important to identify exactly what the public dislikes about Barack Obama. Kevin DuJan starts this discussion off with a look at the sort of person who voters will see as a remedy to everything they’ve come to detest about the current occupants of the White House.
They are really really really scared of Rick Perry.
I know that most of you watched last night’s GOP debate on MSNBC but did you watch their post debate analysis? Ordinarily, I would switch over to FOX and watch a more sane and rational analysis but I decided to see what the loons thought of Rick Perry and the rest of the field. It was almost like a comedy show. The usual suspects were on board….Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell ( this man makes my skin crawl) and as an added bonus, Al Sharpton. They bantered back and forth with the usual left-wing BS nonsense. They don’t like Newt Gingrich because he is so much smarter than them that they don’t even know how to dismantle what he says (plus he calls them out on media bias). They had a great time making Ron Paul look like a complete crackpot (and Ron Paul falls for it every time because he’s so passionate about his beliefs…which have merit). They gave Jon Huntsman a lot of air time…I guess because (as a lot of people think), they want him to be the spoiler for the GOP. They repeated the same old tired Michelle Bachmann routine…making her appear to be a deranged far-right extremist boogeyman. They picked around the edges of the other candidates. They had negative things to say about all of them….except Mitt Romney. Of course they had a little criticism of Mitt but…if I had been an alien who just landed on Earth….I would think that Mitt was the candidate that MSNBC wanted for president. It was obvious to everyone that this debate was between Mitt Romney and Rick Perry. Oh sure…the moderators threw questions out to the other candidates but the focus was squarely on the two front-runners and one thing is very clear….they are terrified of Rick Perry. To be more specific, they are terrified of a Rick Perry presidency. This man is Satan to them. They think that if this man gets elected then the world will come to an end. Al Sharpton could barely string together two sentences he was so riled up (even worse than normal). They were praising Mitt Romney so much it was comical. They were practically tripping over each other to see just how much adoration they could heap on Mitt. It was one of the most entertaining things I have ever watched. Why? Do you think it’s because they have faced the reality that their savior, Obama, will most likely lose in 2012 and they would rather have Romney as president because he is a mushy moderate? Or do you think they want Mitt because they think Obama stands a better chance of winning if Romney is the GOP candidate?
One thing is for sure…..They do not want Rick Perry on the ticket.
To them, he is the Anti-Christ and they are terrified of Perry winning in 2012.
Sort of like we were when Obama won is 2008…and we were right.
Adam Baldwin’s call at Big Hollywood to push back against race-hustlers and the Left’s bully goon squads
Adam Baldwin has a great essay up at Big Hollywood today, where he raises a call to keep pushing back against the race-hustlers and the Left’s other identity-based bully goon squads.
For several decades, the Left has employed a handful of different, pejorative spewing, “untouchable” attack teams to slander and stymie Republicans…knowing the Cocktail Party GOP establishment was too terrified of bad press to ever stand up to any of these goons.
The Left uses blacks to attack Republicans, where the weapon of choice is screaming RAAACIST! at the GOP. In particular, by marginalizing a few selected individual targets that the Left can polarize and ostracize on a personal level, Democrats can ruin their lives and reputation permanently (since in the age of Google, once labeled a racist by the Left, that brand will never go away). No racism actually exists in these situations, but that doesn’t matter to the Left. Just getting a group of black people together to scream loudly that someone is a racist is enough to get Democrats whatever they want in most cases. Since the Cocktail Party GOP establishment is terrified of name-calling and bad media cycles, Republicans have almost always caved into whatever the Left demands when the Race Industry (as led by the Justice Brothers of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, with special guest appearances by Justice Cousin Henry Gates) is dispatched to attack conservatives. Think for yourself how often you have seen this happen in just the last four years alone, since the Left began working overtime to push Obama’s Leftist agenda on Americans.
The next best weapon of choice the Left consistently employs is, as I’ve repeatedly noted, the gay community, which is primarily aimed at conservatives who are strongly Christian identified, with female Republicans particularly targeted. The Left typically uses blacks to attack Republican men, but dispatches gays to harp and claw at Republican women. The goal is to portray these women as Cruela de Vil/Anita Bryant type conservative villains — boogeywomen who supposedly are “out to get gays”. Get them what, how, or why is never explained, which is classic Leftist tactic. Since the Left is fueled only by emotion, with little reason or logic ever trickling down to the devotees on the ground, it’s enough for gay magazines and newspapers to declare a conservative and Christian woman to be evil incarnate, and the unthinking gay community will get to work aggressively trashing her in the most cruel and misogynist ways possible. Any Republican who’d try to defend these women would be, of course, branded “homophobic” in the media for standing up to the gay community…much like anyone ever telling the Justice Brothers to deservedly shut-up is called a racist.
The more you study the Left’s tactics, the more clearly you will see the Left uses these different identity-voting blocs as weapons in the Alinsky tool belt. Different groups work in different situations, on different kinds of Republicans, so the Left always has a corresponding “oppressed minority” to wail false outrage and hurl manufactured epithets at conservatives…to the great delight of the media, since all of this typically makes riveting television.
Ever seen the Justice Brothers revving blacks up to falsely call Republicans racist on television, with all the protest signs and coreographed picketing that somehow always miraculously appears out of thin air when needed (almost as if all this stuff sits in a cave under Jesse Jackson’s house, ready for the Race Industry’s signal to get it onto the streets)?
Ever watch gay men savagely attack Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, Governor Sarah Palin, Governor Jan Brewer, columnist Ann Coulter, writer Michelle Malkin, and other prominent conservative women?
What other identity-bloc groups do YOU see actively working as goons squads, weaponized by the Left to attack conservatives whenever Democrats know they can’t win an argument using logic and reason, and so they open up the Alinsky recipe book and decide which high profile minority is best suited to malign Republicans that day?
The Cocktail Party GOP establishment has forever been too terrified to address any of this.
So, why don’t we do it for them?
UTAH GROUND REPORT: What do people in the beehive state think of Jon Huntsman?
Dear HillBuzz,
Just thought I’d drop you a line and share some things I’m seeing here in Utah.
First, the local media is wetting themselves silly over the idea of a former governor of Utah running for president. Granted, any time Utah gets any sort national media attention, the local media goes nuts (I think media people in general just crave attention. It truly must be hell to be a journalist in Utah because we’re ignored with such regularity). Even on the most conservative talk radio station, Jon Huntsman is a topic of regular conversation on the local show, even though he doesn’t have a prayer of being elected. Mitt Romney doesn’t get as much attention locally and I haven’t heard much about anyone else (as far as I’ve been able to tell – if any of my fellow Buzzers from Utah have anything different, please chime in).
Also, Senator Orrin Hatch (previously BBFs with Ted Kennedy) is pushing to be seen as ultra Tea Party conservative, when nothing could be further from the truth. He is the biggest RINO in the country and he should have been retired years ago. But the fact that he is trying so hard to reinvent his image as a Tea Party guy is hilarious because it means he’s running scared. In all honesty, he is likely going to be primaried like his buddy Bob Bennett and we’ll get a new senator from Utah and Hatch can go back to writing tribute poems to the Kennedys.
But there is one interesting thing I’m seeing at my work and it’s something that would probably get ignored otherwise. I work as a substitute for one of the largest library systems in the state, which means I get to see the kinds of books and magazines that people are checking out. Mostly people are checking out the popular stuff like Harry Potter or the latest Janet Evanovich, but I have noticed an upswing in people borrowing books by Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter and other conservative people. Plus, books about the economy like “Reckless Endangerment” by Gretchen Morgenson have been in high demand and are consistently on the holds list. I share this with you because when people come to the library, it’s usually to do research and learn about something they have an interest in knowing more about. And if people are checking these kinds of books out, then that means that they want to educate themselves and make informed decisions and not just follow the Obot party line that the media feeds them all the time.
I had one experience with a patron that I want to share – one guy was checking out “Arguing with Idiots” by Glenn Beck. I had to help him with the self-check out and he tried to hide what he was checking out (librarians and library clerks are notorious for being uber-liberal and somewhat judgmental, though most of the ones I know try to keep the patrons from feeling uncomfortable, which is good). I actually told him that I read that book and I liked it a lot. He smiled at me, looking relieved that he’d encountered someone who shared his views. I helped him with the rest of his transaction and felt like I’d encouraged a fellow conservative who needed to hear that not everybody is about to visciously attack anyone with right-leaning views.
That’s all from me. It’s good to see Kevin back fighting the good fight – please know that we’re all with you!

Michele Bachmann’s call for Tim Geithner’s resignation
This is why Michele Bachmann is our second choice for President after Governor Sarah Palin.
No one in the Cocktail Party GOP establishment ever has the cuts to say what needs to be said like this.
You sure don’t see Mittens “Mood Ring” Romney showing leadership like this.
For the curious, out the of the current and prospective GOP candidates for president, there are just three I can see having what it takes to really sock it to Obama in the general election. They are, in order of preferance:
1. Governor Sarah Palin
2. Congresswoman Michele Bachmann
3. Governor Rick Perry
For Vice President, there is only one choice, no matter who is on the top of the ticket: Congressman Allen West
Never in history has it been so clear who the VP nominee should be, so far from the nominating convention. But West is someone the GOP needs to put forward because he would wipe the floor with Joe Biden nine ways to Sunday. AND, it sets up West to run for President himself in 2020, after being VP for 8 years.
Just imagine what will happen to the Democrat Party with a conservative black man at the top of the Republican ticket in a few years, after being VP for that stretch and showing blacks that they do not have to be indentured to Democrats any longer…since Democrats have never done anything to actually help the black community, just hold it back.
The Cocktail Party will resist West, just as the Cocktail Party keeps pushing Mittens and resisting Palin, Bachmann, and Perry.
But the Cocktail Party is going to lose if you help do something about that.
No wonder there’s so much voter fraud in Illinois: illegal aliens running early voting polling places in Chicago
Please become familiar with the organization Defend the Vote here in Illinois: it is the best-organized effort I have yet seen dedicated to combatting voter fraud in this corrupt and Leftist-controlled state.
Have you ever watched shows like “Hoarders” on Hulu, where some hapless soul’s entire existence was swallowed by the junk and clutter that filled their home suffocating all life out of it? And then in walks the decluttering team, dispatched to put things right and rescue that week’s hoarding victim.
I would have no idea where to start to begin to clean up that much filth and trash, but amazingly enough these teams of experts do it…making the impossible a reality on TV 22 episodes a season.
In real life, voter fraud is so rampant in a state like Illinois that it’s hard for an average citizen to even begin to understand where to start in terms of preventing the Left and the Labor Unions from stealing elections for Democrats.
