URGENT ACTION ITEM: How to find a list of union vs. non-union stores so people can choose which to support
Here is a fantastic Labor Day Project that could be of immense value to all of us.
Can you help find a list of union vs. non-union stores so that we can all choose where we want to spend our money?
I would shop exclusively at non-union stores in a heartbeat if I had a list of companies to evaluate.
This means not staying in union hotels when traveling, not buying groceries from union-stocked shelves, not going anywhere near labor unions whenever possible.
If the Labor Unions have declared war on Republicans and have now pledged to serve as Obama’s Goon Squad and Thug Army in 2012…why give the Unions any more of your hard earned money by shopping in stores that help fund the unions?
Why not support companies who have fought hard to keep Democrats’ thuggery out of their stores so that none of your money ever falls into the DNC’s hands?
Have you ever seen a list of companies that are non-union?
Is there a comprehensive listing of all grocery stores, hotel chains, restaurants, clothing stores, etc. that are non-union so people can start reevaluating where they shop every day to avoid union stores as much as possible?
ACTION ITEM: The most important thing we can do this week is find a way to make the “Fast & Furious” scandal accessible and understandable to average Americans
I was in and out of the hospital through the spring and early summer this year, and the ‘Fast & Furious” scandal unfolded largely when I was away from the computer. As a result, I’m in the very interesting position of not being as attuned to this matter as I normally would be.
Tomorrow, I’m going to devote the entire day to researching what’s going on, reading articles others have written on “Fast & Furious”, and putting together excellent timelines that show clearly what happened.
My boyfriend Justin has never even HEARD of “Fast & Furious” and his parents back in Arkansas aren’t following it. It’s just not on people’s radars, but clearly should be.
If you’re reading this, you are already more politically read and educated in current events than 99% of the population. I am sure you’ve seen time and again how little information about something like “Fast & Furious” permeates the lamestream media. You know that if something is bad for Obama, that the news networks and dinosaur papers will not report on it.
The Left controls the traditional media, and will control it for some time to come. We thus need to circumvent these Obama cultists.
Step One for me is getting up to speed on “Fast & Furious”. You can help by either including links to excellent stories on the matter in this thread, or emailing material to us at HillBuzz@gmail.com.
Step Two is working on creative ways to draw people’s attention to this scandal, which reaches all the way up to the White House.
This is another example of something that’s a lot of hard work, but needs to be done. Any ideas or research assistance you can give would be so appreciated!
So, what’s the deal with Ron Paul anyway?
For those of you who have been following HillBuzz.org for a while, you’ll know that my very good friend Kathleen is a Ron Paul supporter and occasionally writes about him. I have only one rule for anyone who contributes essays here on HB, and that’s for these contributors to be themselves. This site was started with a group of my friends here in Boystown back in the Hillary 2008 campaign days — and though some faces have changed and new friends have been made, the spirit behind the site is still the same…and always will be. I trust people like Kathleen, Bridgit, Penny, Esther, and others to write interesting things about what interests them in politics, and I’m happy to give them the platform to do it, even if I don’t agree with whatever they’re talking about.
The most enthusiastic and irrational hate mail that comes in these days is always related to anything Kathleen writes about Ron Paul, which I find fascinating. Her articles on Ron Paul get more hatemail, in fact, than any of my own essays taking the Left or Cocktail Party GOP establishment head-on for something (which always brings out the trolls to malign and berate me on a personal level…aka, just another day here at Buzzquarters).
I realized while reading through the latest spat of these hatemails that I don’t believe I’ve ever written anything about what I think about Ron Paul — and, more importantly, his supporters.
So, what’s the deal with Ron Paul anyway?
QUESTION: How to research which bars in the state of Illinois have been prosecuted for giving away free alcohol?
Here’s a question for those of you who are excellent at research: how can we research which bars have been prosecuted by the state of Illinois in the last five years for giving away free alcohol?
The ongoing situation with Gibson Guitars — where the Justice Department’s prosecuting them for things their competitors do as well, because the competitors give Democrats huge contributions while Gibson doesn’t — made me realize something very similar happens here in the state of Illinois regarding enforcement of our liquor commission’s laws.
According to the statutes, it’s illegal for a bar or restaurant to give away free alcohol in Illinois — yet, I know of several very politically-connected establishments with a lot of clout in the city that do this every night (where, in fact, employees are slotting a certain number of freebies each night and are expected to use them all by giving them away to repeat customers). This is illegal under the liquor commission’s rules, but it happens every day because the owners’ give a lot of money to Democrats and this is a Democrat-run city.
I’m curious to learn if any businesses in the state of Illinois were closed for giving away free alcohol…and am even more curious to determine if those business owners were Republicans.
I bet what’s happening to Gibson Guitars happens all the time in places where the Left has the power to run these extortion schemes.
I bet it’s happening in your home town too, with businesses there as well.
Can you think of how people can research things like this?
Using the specific case of the liquor law violations here in Illinois — as just one example — how can people determine which businesses are being shut down for something like giving away free alcohol, when other establishments that do the same thing skate by unregulated.
If citizen-detectives started looking into things like this, I bet we’d find a lot more Gibson Guitar cases out there.
Adam Baldwin’s call at Big Hollywood to push back against race-hustlers and the Left’s bully goon squads
Adam Baldwin has a great essay up at Big Hollywood today, where he raises a call to keep pushing back against the race-hustlers and the Left’s other identity-based bully goon squads.
For several decades, the Left has employed a handful of different, pejorative spewing, “untouchable” attack teams to slander and stymie Republicans…knowing the Cocktail Party GOP establishment was too terrified of bad press to ever stand up to any of these goons.
The Left uses blacks to attack Republicans, where the weapon of choice is screaming RAAACIST! at the GOP. In particular, by marginalizing a few selected individual targets that the Left can polarize and ostracize on a personal level, Democrats can ruin their lives and reputation permanently (since in the age of Google, once labeled a racist by the Left, that brand will never go away). No racism actually exists in these situations, but that doesn’t matter to the Left. Just getting a group of black people together to scream loudly that someone is a racist is enough to get Democrats whatever they want in most cases. Since the Cocktail Party GOP establishment is terrified of name-calling and bad media cycles, Republicans have almost always caved into whatever the Left demands when the Race Industry (as led by the Justice Brothers of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, with special guest appearances by Justice Cousin Henry Gates) is dispatched to attack conservatives. Think for yourself how often you have seen this happen in just the last four years alone, since the Left began working overtime to push Obama’s Leftist agenda on Americans.
The next best weapon of choice the Left consistently employs is, as I’ve repeatedly noted, the gay community, which is primarily aimed at conservatives who are strongly Christian identified, with female Republicans particularly targeted. The Left typically uses blacks to attack Republican men, but dispatches gays to harp and claw at Republican women. The goal is to portray these women as Cruela de Vil/Anita Bryant type conservative villains — boogeywomen who supposedly are “out to get gays”. Get them what, how, or why is never explained, which is classic Leftist tactic. Since the Left is fueled only by emotion, with little reason or logic ever trickling down to the devotees on the ground, it’s enough for gay magazines and newspapers to declare a conservative and Christian woman to be evil incarnate, and the unthinking gay community will get to work aggressively trashing her in the most cruel and misogynist ways possible. Any Republican who’d try to defend these women would be, of course, branded “homophobic” in the media for standing up to the gay community…much like anyone ever telling the Justice Brothers to deservedly shut-up is called a racist.
The more you study the Left’s tactics, the more clearly you will see the Left uses these different identity-voting blocs as weapons in the Alinsky tool belt. Different groups work in different situations, on different kinds of Republicans, so the Left always has a corresponding “oppressed minority” to wail false outrage and hurl manufactured epithets at conservatives…to the great delight of the media, since all of this typically makes riveting television.
Ever seen the Justice Brothers revving blacks up to falsely call Republicans racist on television, with all the protest signs and coreographed picketing that somehow always miraculously appears out of thin air when needed (almost as if all this stuff sits in a cave under Jesse Jackson’s house, ready for the Race Industry’s signal to get it onto the streets)?
Ever watch gay men savagely attack Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, Governor Sarah Palin, Governor Jan Brewer, columnist Ann Coulter, writer Michelle Malkin, and other prominent conservative women?
What other identity-bloc groups do YOU see actively working as goons squads, weaponized by the Left to attack conservatives whenever Democrats know they can’t win an argument using logic and reason, and so they open up the Alinsky recipe book and decide which high profile minority is best suited to malign Republicans that day?
The Cocktail Party GOP establishment has forever been too terrified to address any of this.
So, why don’t we do it for them?
RESEARCH NEEDED: Where in Alaskan law does it preclude a governor from seeking another elected office for 25 months after leaving office?
Here’s something I’d love to clear up today.
Repeatedly, in various conversations about Governor Palin and her future, I keep hearing people say there is something in Alaskan law that prohibited her from participating in a political campaign for 25 months after leaving the governor’s office.
That 25-month time-out would conclude at the end of this month, incidentally.
Here’s the Alaskan state constitution.
I can’t find anything about a 25-month hold on future plans in there.
I also don’t know how a “25-month” time-out would have affected Governor Palin should John McCain have won the presidency, with her becoming Vice President of the United States in 2008.
Clearly, she ran for another political office while the sitting Governor of Alaska.
So I just don’t understand this “25-month” hold business.
I do believe there is something to do with her tenure as Governor that has factored into her decision to postpone her presidential announcement until September (or, the last few days of August, at the earliest)…but I think it might have to do with either her legal bills or the various dismissed ethics complaints that were filed by Democrats to harass and malign her in the last months of her administration.
Can anyone track down a definitive answer as to what this “time-out” is supposed to have been about?
ACTION ITEM: How many violent remarks have Obama, Biden, and other Democrats made?
Do you have some time today to help push back against the media’s latest attack on Republicans…namely, the Left’s insistence that Texas Governor Rick Perry is a terrible, unelectable, “unpresidential” man because he said the Federal Reserve and its chairman should receive some much deserved comeuppance.
Here’s a hatchet piece on Bloomberg, going after Perry, using a Lefty law professor to call Perry “unelectable and unpresidential” because of his verbiage:
“You just can’t run around shooting your mouth off and talking about the Federal Reserve and talking about treason and getting ugly,” said Cornelius Hurley, a law professor at Boston University and a former assistant general counsel to the Fed’s Board of Governors. “That’s just not appropriate.”
Hurley, a self-described “disenchanted” supporter of President Barack Obama, says tension long has existed between politicians and the Fed, yet Perry took it to new heights.
“I have never heard the rhetoric ramped up the way Governor Perry did,” he said. “That’s a very troubling development. We expect more of our president and should expect more of our presidential candidates.”
Now, just off the top of my head, I can recall Joe Biden calling members of the Tea Party terrorists…and that happened last week. It was very un-vice-presidential of Biden, but Bloomberg didn’t mention this.
I can also remember Obama telling Democrat voters before the 2010 elections that conservatives are their enemies. Previously, Obama also told his followers that they needed to get into the faces of people who opposed him. He also waxed on about how he brings guns to knife fights. Proudly so.
There is a real and present need to compile quotes like this from Democrats — sourced, with references intact — and have them ready as a resource whenever Leftist hacks in the media claim conservatives are “unelectable and unpresidential” because of verbiage they’ve used.
Every time the Left does this, they need to be reminded of things both Obama and Biden say when this dynamic duo run their mouths.
The Left counts on no one putting the sweat equity in doing this research and preparing lists like this.
It’s hard work. It’s thankless and often boring.
But, man alive, will it ever pay dividends in 2012 if we can can get ahead of the game and do all this prep work using Obama and Biden themselves to refudiate any and all attacks on conservatives.
Chime in below with your thoughts on how best to make this happen.

UPDATE: 8/17/11 Here’s a great story from Politico about Biden’s “the Tea Partiers are terrorists!” remarks.
In it, Politico notes the Left keeps trying to deny Biden said this, but the Vice President’s office hasn’t refuted the story and Politico stands behind it. It’s a big enough deal that if Politico was wrong, they’d have to recant it. So Biden indeed did say this.
Here are a few things I find useful to remember on a daily basis when faced with the recurring horror shows of life:
1. Vampires wither in sunlight
2. Werewolves are stopped cold by silver.
3. Mummies are scared of fire.
4. The Left will be taken down, every time, by its own hypocrisy.
Just keep calling the Leftist media out on these double standards, because these people aren’t smart enough to think of new things to do to try to make conservatives look bad.
