Bob Dole Endorses Mitt Romney

Posted on December 18, 2011 by Kathleen Gee // 2012 Elections, 2012 GOP Candidates, Cocktail Party GOP, General Stupidity, Mittens Romney

Well, there’s just not much more I can say about it, really.

Mittens Romneycare Officially Jumps Shark with Bob Dole Endorsement

“Though Dole’s endorsement is not much of a surprise this election cycle, he went a different route in 2008 when Romney made his first bid for the nomination. Four years ago Romney got in some hot water when he said that Dole – who had written a letter supporting eventual Republican nominee Senator John McCain – was the last person he would want a letter from.

Dole was Senate majority leader at the same time that Newt Gingrich – one of Romney’s main rivals in the quest to unseat Obama – was speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.

But the two Republican congressional leaders were often at loggerheads, with Dole often frustrated by Gingrich’s firebrand personality. An exasperated Dole once said to Gingrich: “You pay a penalty for leadership. If you don’t want to pay the penalty, maybe you ought to find some other line of work.”

I wouldn't care if Sarah Palin were to endorse Willard. I will NOT vote for him in the primary.

I'm with Layla. I will not vote for Mittens in the primary.

I keep hoping Gov Palin will see what is happening, that Mittens is being shoved down our throats, and come out and rally the troops to be sure he is not our nominee.

If Mittens is the chosen one in the primary, he will be defeated by Obama. Even if that doesn't happen, we will NEVER get rid of ObamaCare with a President Mittens.

While I quite agree that Mittens will never get rid of ObamaCare, if he does end up being the R nominee, we have to make sure he defeats Teh One. There will be massive voter fraud. The only way to combat that is for the boots on the ground to campaign for the challenger, and that is us. Whomever ends up being he nominee is going to need more than our votes – he/she is going to need us to be going door to door, making phone calls, distributing literature, educating people, etc. If you don't want another four years of the usurper in chief, more than your vote is required. We cannot be passive in 2012. The future of our country is at stake.

As a side note, how sad for the first family to be in mourning over Kim Jong's death during their hard-earned vacation. /sarc off.

Romney will never be the GOP nominee. People in Iowa and SC vote for a Muslim before a mormon

Obama is a maybe Muslim. SC voted for Obama (primary 2008). You're right.

Is the Bob Dole endorsement really going to sway anyone? Honestly?

It's all going back to this asinine practice the GOP seems unable to shake: namely that when it's a candidate's "turn" to be the presidential nominee, he gets the most support. Regardless of his record, his policies, his past actions and future campaign promises,

As someone who wants to see Obama's political career go down in flames in 2012, I know Romney is NOT the answer.

So… what would I care about who Bob Dole endorses. In my opinion, it reinforces my attitude to not support mittens in the nomination. I cannot stand that the GOP has this "it's my turn" mentality. But again, if he is the nominee, I will vote for him because I cannot take a chance that obama could get back in.

Maybe Bob Dole was just getting even with him for the remark Romney made about Dole 4 years ago.

Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL) is expected to announce his endorsement of Romney today.

Bring it on, gents. I doubt endorsements are going to have much influence on the base or the independents. This year's electorate is more educated and more determined to right our country. We are doing our own vetting of the candidates and not relying on the media or other politicians to form our opinions.

Mark Kirk echoed the "maverick" when he said that he believed that Romney can work with both sides of the aisle. This further makes me reject Kirk and Romney. I'm so sick of this phrase. When a so-called "conservative" candidate pledges to work with both sides, you can be that the loser will always be this country,

Bob Dole's endorsement is so predictable it's almost funny.

So did a largest newspaper in Iowa, Des Moines Register.
    And, the Washington Examiner.
I don't know who owns all of those.
Americans are too stupid to figure out who to vote for on their own so
these newspapers TELL a voter who to vote for and why.
If Romney does get the nom, then Conservatives must
    accept the nationalized health system.
My guess is that there is a lot of money, a LOT of money and power plays
to be made and has been made. 60 minutes uncovered a the ice cap
of the iceberg in a recent expose'.

Ding, ding ding! We have a winner. Too many Americans don't want to figure out for whom to vote; thinking is hard work. So they let the MSM think for them. And the MSM panders to the politicians who are bought. Follow the money.
