Attention Media: This is What a REAL SEX SCANDAL Looks Like

Posted on November 9, 2011 by Kathleen Gee // Conservativism, Essays - Conservativism, Herman Cain, Refudiate Media Attacks, Tea Party

News came down a few minutes ago that the trustees of Penn State University fired head football coach Joe Paterno and university president Graham Spanier effective immediately.

I haven’t followed this story closely, so I just became aware of the fact that Joe Paterno KNEW that his former defensive coordinator, Jerry Sandusky, had been CAUGHT RAPING A 10-YEAR OLD BOY IN 2002 AND YET CONTINUED TO WORK ALONGSIDE HIM IN THE PENN STATE FOOTBALL PROGRAM FOR NINE MORE YEARS.

I am about to throw up.

I also just found out that the person who WALKED IN ON Jerry Sandusky RAPING A 10-YEAR OLD BOY, one Mike McQueary, not only DID NOT RESCUE THE BOY AND BEAT JERRY SANDUSKY TO DEATH at the time, but IS CURRENTLY RECEIVERS COACH FOR THE TEAM!
This “man,” Mike McQueary [seriously? That's his name?], DIDN’T EVEN CALL THE POLICE to report the rape. As reported on FoxNews.com,

“The 84-year-old Paterno has been besieged by criticism since Sandusky was charged over the weekend with sexually abusing eight young boys between 1994 and 2009. Athletic director Tim Curley and vice president Gary Schultz have been charged with failing to notify authorities after an eyewitness reported a 2002 assault.  [...]

Though Paterno is not accused of any wrongdoing, he has been questioned over his apparent failure to follow up on a report of the 2002 incident, in which Sandusky allegedly sodomized a 10-year-old boy in the showers at the team’s football complex. A witness, Mike McQueary, is currently receivers coach for the team but was a graduate assistant at the time.

McQueary told Paterno about the incident the next day, and the coach notified Curley and Schultz, who in turn notified Penn State president Graham Spanier. Curley and Schultz have been charged with perjury and failure to report the incident to authorities, as required by state law.

I would like to point out that this story includes all the elements that the sexual harassment smear campaign against Herman Cain does not.

  • An eyewitness.
  • Sexual contact.
  • Names.
  • Dates.
  • A very long paper trail.
  • Facts.
  • Proof.

The only thing that appears to be missing is the one thing the Herman Cain smear campaign has in abundance: OUTRAGE.

WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE???

Last night, ESPN broadcast video of a student rally at the home of Joe Paterno. They RALLIED in front of his house, shouting words of encouragement to him.

Students rally in support of Joe Paterno in front of his home

via USAToday.com

Presumably the residents and students of State College, PA were more aware of the situation than I was. Some, if not all, of these people must have known that this Jerry Sandusky had been protected by Penn State’s coaching staff and administrators, including Paterno.

But the people of State College PA and the students in front of Joe Pa’s house were more concerned with FOOTBALL than with CHILDREN BEING RAPED.

This is what a sex scandal looks like.

And the fact that the Democrat-Controlled Media has spent more time in the past three days reporting on Herman Cain than on Jerry Sandusky and Joe Paterno…that’s a scandal all its own.

To correct some of your facts… Sandusky retired from Penn State in 1999, but was allowed to continue to run an office there, outside of the program, to do charity work. So he was not an employee of the university in 2002.

Also to quote Wikipedia (which is pretty close to what other sources that actually pay attention to this stuff have told me): According to the indictment, in 2002 assistant coach Mike McQueary, then a Penn State graduate assistant,[18] walked in on Sandusky having anal intercourse with a ten-year-old boy. The next day, he reported the incident to Paterno, who informed Curley. Ultimately, the only action Curley and Schultz took was to order Sandusky not to bring any children from Second Mile to the football building, an action that was approved by school president Graham Spanier. The indictment accused Curley and Schultz not only of failing to tell the police, but also of falsely telling the grand jury that McQueary never informed them of sexual activity.[19]

So… I have some sympathy for JoPa in this case… in that he did what was legally obligated of him based on only having second-hand knowledge of someone that didn't even technically work for the university. I suppose he could have gone to the police or put more pressure on the higher-ups once he saw they weren't going to do anything, but it's not like he did nothing at all. I'm not sure I buy that he was part of the coverup… but who knows.

Thanks for the fact-check, Michelle. I only know what I read in the media…which, in and of itself, says something about the media.

I didn’t go to Penn State. But I spent a week in State College one Saturday when my car broke down there. There isn’t a damn thing in State College PA except for Penn State. Everything in the place is focused on Penn State. Everything. And everything about Penn State is focused on the football program.

So, someone comes to you and says, “yeah, I walked into the locker room yesterday and ran into Jerry Sandusky ****ing a 10-year-old boy in the ***. I thought you should know. Have a nice day!”

And your next phone call isn’t to the POLICE?

And you don’t put Mike McQueary in your car that second and drive him to the police station so he can swear out a complaint?

You call an administrator and just move on with life?

      Really?

As far as I’m concerned, Mike McQueary is an assessory to rape of a child and Joe Pa is guilty of gross negligence.

      But that’s just my 2¢.

Yeah, I am surprised people aren't attacking the GradAss who witnessed the incident more.

Totally agree, Kathleen! If the grad asst, a former LINEBACKER, wasn't man enough to tackle an old guy and protect an innocent child being RAPED, he could have at least interrupted, called the police, done something other than call his daddy! Which is what he did, and the dad's advice: Leave the building. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Meanwhile, a 10 year old boy has lost complete faith in those who he thought would protect him. There were even MOTHERS of other victims who didn't call the police, they found out (years later) that Penn State had done nothing when they complained, and now they are "horrified" and "betrayed" to learn the officials didn't call the police. Betrayal is what happened to their innocent children. Why didn't ANYONE do the right thing??

Great post, Kathleen. This is an excellent expose on the incredible LACK of reporting in our Democrat controlled non-media. The lunatics run the asylum and to quote M. Savage, "the fourth estate has become the fifth column," in this case undermining the Cain campaign via character assassination. My contempt for these quislings who aid The Occupooper in Chief knows no bounds. They truly deserve our wrath and then some. I long for a candidate who will go on offense, tell the truth, and expose their hypocrisy and lies.

Ahh, who cares, people. It's all about winning football games or elections, so who cares if innocent children are raped?

Hell, look at Occupooper anywhere. It's a free rape, drug, and whatever zone and no one cares.

What the hell has happened to our society? Am I a "right winger" when I think that moral values are important in this country.
    Ask all of yourselves that.
    So sad.
And all so easily prevented if we all STEP UP.

It's a natural result of telling children all through their growing up years (via public institutions, er, schools) that "sex is ok, with whomever" and "we can't judge behavior". No right or wrong, so the 28 year old man is conflicted about whether to RESCUE A CHILD BEING RAPED. Couldn't even bring himself to call the police. Sick and revolting. My heart breaks for this precious child whose innocence and trust was stolen from him.

    …as I posted previously:

…here is how this gets successfully spun:

    1. Sandusky’s attorney announces that his client had converted in his heart to Islam many years ago, and was simply following its mandated religous practices. Following this, Barack DownLow Obama appoints Sandusky as the new head of NASA..

    2. The university simply adds one word to its name, becoming Kal Penn State, thereby activatiing the GLBT protection racket…

A couple things about the students protesting: State College is a small town, 3/4 of it is Penn State, Joe Paterno for 60 years has been 'Dad or Grandpa' to the town and the entire PSU community. It was not just football – he and his wife were legend with their humanitarian efforts and involvement in the community. Everyone is going through the stages of grief right now and have only made it to denial. Happy Valley as it's known is not the real world. I used to live there (I was not a PSU student) and when I left, I referred to it as escaping from the womb.

Moral equivalency is destroying our country- If something is wrong, it is wrong at all times, in all places. Mike McQueary should have immediately punched Sandusky in the face, hog-tied him, and called the police. The fact that he didn't is inexcusable! When he reported what he had seen to Joe Paterno, he should have picked up the phone and called the police immediately. The fact that he didn't is also inexcusable!

Our children are gifts from God and they are to be treasured and protected so that they can grow up to be happy, healthy, productive people. These men FAILED at every level and who knows how many children have been victimized because of their warped priorities. This story makes me sick to my stomach and the idea that people are cheering for a man who had the chance to stop this monster and didn't do it horrifies me!

I am assuming at some point, someone is investigating Sandusky's life. For example, does he have child porn? Has he gone to the Far East to sodomize children. Frankly, for something this monstrous to have happened, there is so very little reported on Sandusky. The only details have emerged from the GJ report. In the mean time, the media is ripping a new one in Herman Cain. Things are so out of whack, I don't know where to begin??

As educators, they must report any and all instances of suspected abuse to the POLICE and they did not. That is why the lot of them were fired. Rightly so. All those supporting them and spinning it like it is no big deal can rot in hell. Those "educators" allowed for the ruination of children and their families who never really get past having that happen to them.

Nothing that Paterno or Penn state did "for charity" will ever ever make up for the harm done to those boys. I vote we burn down the entire stadium and get an exorcist in there to clean the place out. I totally agree with the comments that suggest that if someone ever sees something like this happening they need to take action to stop it. I am a skinny, old- not- very – brave grandmother, but I would have hit that man with anything I could find And grabbed that boy and run if I had ever seen such a thing! What a bunch of cowards!

Thank you Kathleen, for calling it what it is, rape. That many of the commentors here also call it rape speaks volumes about us as decent people. Pray for the kids that that monster raped, they'll need it.

Did you know the 10 year old boy was black, or am I wrong I was told this by a co-worker.

What They Aren't Telling You Re: Penn State Child Rape

FYI…. I have been watching the news media about this over the past several days. This information below was never mention.

Many are wondering why nothing was done when it was reported then Pennsylvania State University assistant football coach Gerald "Jerry" Sandusky was seen sexually assaulting a 10 year old boy in a locker room shower on campus. The assault upon the 10 year old boy was witnessed by a then grad. assistant who reported it to Head Coach Joe Paterno. Paterno in turn reported it to the Athletic Director and the campus police. Keep in mind, this is school is part of the Pennsylvania State University system. The campus police are state police and empowered with the same authority as the police in Happy Valley, PA. where the school is located. They are not glorified security guards. The administration did little at that time and apparently the police did nothing. The question not being answered is why?

Is it perhaps because the 10 year old was a Black American boy.

Now ask yourself this question, "If these had been a Caucasian boy do you really think the university and the law enforcement officers on the campus would have allowed this sexual predator to have free run of the city and school campus for more than a decade after the sexual abuse was reported?

None of the major national media to my knowledge have brought out this fact. Why? They have instead focused all of their attention on Joe Paterno as though he had raped the child.

What you are being fed by the university and the media is called in football a "Misdirection Play". Some in the community might call it a "whitewash".

    Now, run and tell that!
