Are you planning on being in Des Moines, Iowa on September 3rd to witness history being made?

Posted on July 30, 2011 by Kevin DuJan // 2012 Presidential Campaign, Action Items, American Artemis, Polarize This!, Purple Team - Palin

Yesterday, I guest-hosted on the radio with Megan Fox, who thinks that Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s place in the nascent Republican presidential race means that Govnernor Sarah Palin won’t be running for president in 2012.

I think Governor Palin is already running for president, and that Congresswoman Bachmann is one of her stalking horses in the race (I’d also love to see a vote of no confidence in John Boehner, with Bachmann staging a tea-steeped revolt in Congress and emerging triumphantly as the new Speaker of the House).

Think about this: for all the attacks made on Governor Palin trying to convince Americans she’s some sort of extremist, Congresswoman Bachmann’s clearly more to the right in policy and tone. Bachmann’s also more combatative (which is not a bad thing, believe me) and doesn’t have quite the same savvy in connecting with people on a large scale. Bachmann inspires supporters, while Palin fires up thousands to wait hours in the cold to see her.  Everything that Bachmann is, Palin is more of, in all the right ways.

Just imagine a scenario where the Left has declared Governor Palin to be the worst person that’s ever lived — the second coming of Anita Bryant in terms of the Left’s boogeywoman rhetoric — only to have Congresswoman Bachmann emerge on the scene for a while being MORE of most of the things the Left claims is so terrible about Palin.

What happens then?  Suddenly, Independent voters can’t buy-in to the Left’s notion that Governor Palin is some extremist, when there’s someone standing right there who’s more “extreme” in all the ways the Left screams is so unelectable.

That “unelectability” argument was used against Hillary Clinton in the primaries back in 2008, with the Obama and Edwards campaigns making the rounds in the early states like Iowa discouraging people from voting for Clinton because “people won’t vote for a female president” or “too many people still have bad feelings over her husband”.  Underhanded campaigns encourage thought like this, to paint undecideds into corners where they say “I’d really like to support her, but I don’t think she would win so I won’t”.

There’s continued and aggressive effort out there to do this to Governor Palin, and most of it’s coming from the likes of Mittens Romney and Tim Pawlenty, those soggy cucumber-and-mayonnaise Cocktail Party weiners who want the Republican presidential nomination to remain an establishment-approved all-boys club.

So, I think it’s very interesting that an argument could be easily made that Congresswoman Bachmann’s not electable in 2012 because of factors like she’s not too well-known outside certain circles, that she’s a hard line on some matters that turns Independents off, etc.

Well, if that’s your problem with THIS female presidential candidate, take another look at Governor Palin and see that the massive support she has on the grassroots level and the sway she holds with the American public overcome any disadvantages to her candidacy in ways Congresswoman Bachmann’s own strengths just can’t.

An argument emerges that if people are deciding which Republican female presidential candidate has a smaller chance of winning in 2012, that candidate would be Michele Bachmann and not Sarah Palin.  After that, if people STILL quibble about Palin not being able to win (which is preposterous), they’re open for criticism in that they just don’t want a woman to run. Period.

Even though the threat of being called a RAAACIST was much more powerful in 2008, when weaponized as a means of intimidating people to cast ballots for Obama “or else”, there could be some out there who wouldn’t want to be seen discouraging EVERY female candidate that comes along.  It’s true that conservative voters aren’t identity-based like Democrats, and don’t carve everyone up according to labels like gender…but this stuff exists on the conservative side of the aisle too, if only to a small degree.

Since Congresswoman Bachmann and Governor Palin are friends, Megan Fox is right in thinking neither would do something on a large scale that hurt the other…but I think there’s more going on with this than is readily apparent to most, and Bachmann’s actions are meant to not only raise her own national profile (for the Speakership I believe) but also give Palin a stalking horse in the race to remove a handful of the attacks the Cocktail Party GOP establishment will use against the Governor in the elitists’ desperate attempt to fiat the nomination to “It’s His Turn!” candidate Mittens Romney.

On her show yesterday, Fox asked why Governor Palin hasn’t announced her candidacy yet, when so many days were already available for her to do so…including Ronald Reagan’s centennial in February (which would have been a very history-tinged moment for her to declare her intentions). The most exciting and invigorating aspect of supporting Governor Palin in anything is knowing she does EVERYTHING in her own way, regardless of what consultants or advisors may want.  Her gut instincts are better than the combined recommendations of every GOP advisory firm in the DC metro area. And she knows it.

There’s a reason Governor Palin’s waiting so long to declare her candidacy.  Perhaps it has to do with matters leftover from her term as Governor in Alaska.  Maybe it’s related to her role as a broadcast personality on FOX, her “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” TV show, her book deal, or something else that would keep her from making her announcement until a certain date.

I’m sure Governor Palin looked at what happened to Hillary Clinton in 2004, when the Democrat Party told her to “wait until next time” to be the party’s nominee, only to have the party establishment betray her in favor of Obama in 2008.  Hillary could have easily been the nominee instead of John Kerry and faced President Bush in that election, but she was advised to wait in line with the promise the party would take care of her.

If only she hadn’t listened to the establishment.

We certainly see Governor Palin knows better than to make that mistake.

The Mittens Romney crowd aggressively puts this garbage out there regarding Governor Palin now…saying she needs to wait her turn, since Mittens has been wanting to be president since the 1970s, so Palin needs to wait until 2016 at the earliest to make her run.  These fools say “she’s young”, so “she can wait 8 or 12 years and still not be too old to run” but this is Mittens’ last chance to roll out a John McCain/Bob Dole lackluster establishment-approved campaign that’s destined to crash and burn (and secure Obama a second term, during which nothing will restrain him in the slightest from destroying our country).

Governor Palin’s time to run is right here, right now.

And she will win.

You betcha.

The only question is WHEN will she officially declare her intentions.

It sure feels like Labor Day Weekend is going to be when she does it…in Des Moines, Iowa at the big Tea Party event that’s being held there. The Governor has promised a radio show in Alaska that she will announce on the air with them before she speaks anywhere else…but I don’t see why she can’t keep that promise by phone, just moments before delivering a speech to thousands of her supporters in Iowa…thus sending the White House, the DNC, AND the Cocktail Party GOP establishment into permanent fits of apoplectic terror for the next year and change.

I think she’s either going to announce on September 3rd in Des Moines, or she’ll do somethine else historic and interesting that leads up to her announcement.

Either way, it’s going to be worth a six hour road trip from Chicago to see what happens.

There’s enough time for you to start planning an excursion of your own into Iowa that weekend, too.

The more of Governor Palin’s supporters that are in town for whatever she plans to do that day, the merrier.

You can sort of virtually be there if you can’t make it in person.

Just stay attuned to what’s happening with this, and start learning all you can about Iowa and the Republican primary there.

This way, you can be an expert resource that can chime in and advise people who can go there in person.

Like Oracle in the Batman comics, giving her advice and support via the computer.

It’s a step beyond “being there in spirit”. It’s being a spirited supporter contributing something valuable from a distance.

Really thinking about going. But honestly, I think once Sarah jumps in, Bachmann will bow out. We need her more in the House as a voice of reason.-not to mention she's one of the lone adults in congress.

Oh Kevin. Wishing all these things to become true will not make them so. I really really like you but I am amazed and frankly worried that you moved so quickly from moderate Dem to extreme fringe "conservative." You skipped right past the Republican party and landed on the edge of the cliff over Libertarian La La Land. Hopefully you'll come back to the GOP someday and help us work on our shortcomings with the many talents you bring to the political arena. But meantime, I assure you Republicans will not be following the Tea Party, or seriously deficient candidates like Bachmann, or the once respectable, now excruciatingly obtuse antics of Sarah Palin. It's just not gonna happen.

What is your Plan B for a nominee that is anyone other than Sarah Palin?

Well, I love you Sally. You are a wonderful person (and beautiful too!). I always love hearing from you.

The 2012 nominee will be Governor Palin, and she will be our next President.

I will support fully whomever the 2012 nominee is and will do everything I can for her or him.

If Governor Palin would choose not to run, I will have to think and pray on that…and pay attention to whom she decides to rally behind.

Obama will not be defeated by someone from the Cocktail Party GOP establishment…so having another McCain or Dole sent out as a GOP nominee will be beyond foolish…it will be national suicide, because an Obama with no further elections to win and no reason to even pretend not to be a radical is a very dangerous thing.

You are wrong about me being a Libertarian. Democrats win if people start splintering away from the Republican Party. I am a Republican, but I believe a major house cleaning is in order in terms of the establishment in Washington that’s far too cozy with the Left and much too obsessed with the trappings and comforts of power.

The 2012 nominee can’t be someone who seeks the good graces of the Cocktail Party crowd. If that’s the case, then the Republican Party and the country is doomed because this is the GOP’s last chance to get the nomination right.

The Governor is just what this country needs.

Bachmann would make an excellent Speaker of the House.

      Allen West for Vice President.

      Romney = Secretary of Agriculture
Pawlenty = Ambassador to the Seychelles Islands
Jon Huntsman = Secretary of the Interior

        Sally,

I would love for you to elaborate on “the increasingly obtuse antics” of Governor Palin. You always come from an interesting perspective and I know you will give some good points behind what you say…so I would love to know what specifically makes you feel this way about the Governor.

        Can you explain?

Hi Kevin, I am very glad you responded and delighted to see you back in the saddle. I am also relieved to see you proclaim *Republican* loyalty.

By obtuse I mean Palin's two (only?) favored venues: Facebook and FoxNews. I don't face or friend or tweet or text, and I do not consider FoxNews a credible source for anything beyond Special Report and the completely independent weekly WSJ show. The rest of the programming long ago became a nearly mindless echo chamber of screeching, repetitive, fringey nonsense. Complete waste of time, and certainly does not a national majority make. To me it's the biggest tell that Palin has never seriously considered running because she cannot cut it beyond the extremely friendly environment inside the FNC studios. It's a mutually beneficial relationship that keeps Palin's devoted fan base stoked and tuned into FNC.

When I see her identified as "Governor" Palin it is an instant, sharp reminder that she quit. And it is too bad because I am quite convinced that America's next president really, really needs to be a governor.

There are other things, like her appalling judgement re: Christine O'Donnell and Joe whats-his-name from Alaska. There is also a constant sense of victimhood emanating from the Palin camp and many of her supporters, and it got very old. Bottom line, Sarah Palin herself convinced me that she is not presidential material. Not even close. Most of the Republicans I know want to avoid thinking about her all together… no one hates her but she is a bit of an annoyance and mainly just another media profiteer in a long string of profiteers who've turned politics into celebrity silliness.

P.S. Have you discovered Zen on Masterpiece theater, starring Rufus Sewell? Check it out. Part 3 of 3 is on tomorrow night. First two parts available to view online at PBS.org The eye candy — interiors, clothes, scenes all around Rome is fantastic. And the detective stories are intriguing and fun.

As a Libertarian, I would encourage those still loyal to the GOP to work from the inside to root out and destroy the big government, theocratic, anti-liberty, cocktail party, Ruling Class elements that have caused millions of former Republicans like me to abandon the party. The GOP is only still useful because 100 years of statutory electoral advantages the two main parties have granted themselves. In other words, the two parties have jiggered election laws on the local, state and federal level to make it virtually impossible for a third-party presidential candidate to get on the ballot in all 50 states and participate in debates. So anything with an R or a D after its name, no matter how vile (see "Ben Nelson") has an automatic advantage over a Tea Party candidate. But continued shenanigans from The Party of Stupid will split the GOP/Libertarian coalition more effectively than the Democraps could ever dream of.

The GOP should be kissing Palin's ass for saving theirs this last elex. Instead, they haven't so much as given her a "thank you" for all the hard work she put in towards helping Tea Party candidates that ulimately aided the Republicans.
You say you are a Republican. So, instead of coming to Kevin's site and putting Palin, who Kevin supports, down – a simple "thank you" will suffice. A thank you to Kevin his team and to Sarah Palin. She turned it around for the Republicans. They know it and have been piss poor in how they have treated her and in return, those who voted for the candidates she endorsed.

          Newt,

I don’t think the Democrat Party can ever be taken back. The Left is in full control and will not give that full control up. There is no going back.

The Cocktail Party GOP establishment needs to be eliminated so that the Republican Party can function the way it claims it wants to. Thanks for the idea on doing an essay on this because I think a lot of us refugees of the Jacksonian/Clinton Democrat mold feel this way but we all know the media never talks about it.

There are millions of us who used to call ourselves Democrats until 2008. While what the Democrat Party did to Hillary Clinton is part of it, it’s bigger than that and always has been. There is just a determined effort on the party of the current Obama Democrat Party to do things that will irreparably harm our country. It is a psychopathic maliciousness…and reminds me of what happened to Gotham City every time there was a breakout at Arkham Asylum and all the nuts like The Joker and the Riddler etc. were set loose. After being held at bay for 30+ years, all the nuts on the Left were set loose upon America in 2008 by George Soros and the others that engineered Obama’s victory. It’s going to take a long, long time to purge these people from their new positions of influence and control in the DNC. I just don’t think that will happen in our lifetime.

I also don’t think it’s healthy for anyone to not affiliate with one party or the other. Like it or not — and most don’t — but we are a two-party country with many arcane statutes that mandate this two-party system. Here and there, Democrats encourage third party behavior because that siphons enough votes in various places for Democrats to win close elections, since votes that would have gone to a Republican are diverted to a third party candidate who has no hope of winning. This has been deliberately engineered by the DNC, and too many people fall for this every election.

The only way to shake things up is to do it from within the Republican Party. To go head to head with the Cocktail Party establishment elitists that are in league with the establishment types on the Left, and to systematically force out as many of these entrenched career politicos as possible…replacing them with Mamma Grizzlies and men of the stripe of Allen West and other take-no-prisoners plain-speakers that are trying to do something about the massive financial disaster that’s coming within our lifetime because of the wasteful entitlement programs the Left has engineered with Cocktail Party rubber stamps for the last 30 years.

It’s scary to think that I was born in the 70s, just as these elements that contribute to harm our country so much were taking form. It’s like my whole life this has been building to this point and I feel like too few people notice that 34 years later we are on the precipice of destruction. The Cocktail Party is too stupid and self-absorbed to notice it happening…and the Left is gleeful because this has been the goal all along.

Like wealthy patricians hanging out eating grapes in a villa on the side of Mount Vesuvius, these elites on the Right and Left know the eruption is coming and care little about the rest of us who will be destroyed by it, thinking they will survive no matter what happens, because their proximity to power will protect them…that they are too important to be snuffed out by the ash and brimstone. But the fools don’t see that if America goes down, the world as we know it ends, and an opening is made for Islam to rise and obliterate freedom for all. The elites won’t survive. The Left will realize too late how foolish they were and will probably be crying at the end, like in those Last Days of Pompeii movies.

I think the disaster can be averted, but the elites have to be marginalized and people who speak plainly and punch hard when in the right need to be the driving force of this country.

So, we all need to take sides. I choose to be a Republican who believes the country is being attacked from three sides: the Left, the Cocktail Party GOP establishment, and external villains like George Soros and Islam.

Before we can effectively deal with either (1) or (3) in the above, we need to address the Cocktail Party.

Every day is a chance to do something to this end. It’s tough, but it must be done if we are to save the country from disaster.

Sarah Palin is the next best hope for America. I can think of no other that can pull this country back from the brink of desolation. Perhaps that sounds grim, but our world position at this moment in history is grim. I cannot think of any circumstance to preclude her announcement to run. She does not need name recognition. I am just finishing the book,"Bring Her Down" by Gina Dalfonzo. The media set out to totally destroy Governor and it was much worse than anyone imagines. It has only made her stronger. Everyone should read this book and see the film "The Undefeated" It will become available very soon on a national level. Walmart will also have it available by October I think. Everyone pray she runs. I hope I live long enough to see sworn in as the 45th President. I truly believe she is under the guidance of a power beyond our realm. There is a reason we have spent our complete lives asking God to bless America and we certainly need him now. Speaking of the media, isn't it stange that Gibson, Couric, Oprah, Obermann have all lost their mojo? Do you think it might be divine retribution?

Did you make the drive out to Waukee, Iowa over Labor Day Weekend in 2011…were you there for Sarahstock?

“Yes. Yes, I was. We camped out. Met tons of interesting people. That’s how everyone got so networked into the campaign. It was all grassroots, and it all started at Sarahstock”.

I don’t think I am alone in thinking this is an EXCELLENT opportunity for Palin supporters from around the country to get together and network to be ready for the campaign that most of us believe will begin on September 3rd, 2011.

I hadn't considered that angle on Bachmann – but that's a pretty reasonable theory. Bachmann has to know she can't make it in '12, but it would make sense she's trying to elevate herself on the national scene and in effect run for Speaker. I don't know if she's selfless enough to run interference for Palin, that may just be a happy by-product. Either way, it ends up working for the best!

OMG! I hope Palin runs, she is this only positive hope for this country when it comes to this Presidential election.
