Daily Doom Antidote: Here are quick snapshots of the 2016 presidential election as I wrote them at the time. When watching the news and reading the pundits’ commentary every day, it’s often smart to wonder what agendas are driving this content…and if the hysteria and hyperbole used to push ratings and drive clicks is healthy, rational, or anywhere near accurate. Politics is fluid and elections swing wildly, but perspective and taking a deep breath is always a good “doom antidote”. Another good rule of thumb is that whenever the media is shouting that the sky is falling it’s just them desperate for better ratings (like when local meteorologists declare every drizzle the new Storm of the Century). Viewing what the pundits and talking heads in the Ministry of Truth tell you with healthy skepticism and humor is the perfect doom antidote.
