ACTION ITEM: Do unto Ben Nelson what Dan Savage did unto Rick Santorum

Posted on December 31, 2009 by HillBuzz // Hillbuzz

The Whore of the Senate, who turned every Nebraskan into an abortion-funding welfare queen

The people of Nebraska should be ashamed of themselves.  Every man, woman, cat, dog, drag queen, mime, scarecrow, idiot, or savant.  All of ‘em.

We’re ashamed of Nebraskans — for not taking to the streets to protest the behavior of their corrupt and revolting Senator, Ben Nelson, “The Whore of the Senate”.  We live in Illinois, a state where corruption is so rampant, Rod Blagojevich is considered a weird form of hero for being so open and upfront about his antics as to provide a form of public entertainment.  Currently, the mob’s banker, Alexi Giannoulias, is on track to become our next Senator, as Republicans are intent on running fatally-flawed liar and Cap & Tax enthusiast Mark Kirk as their nominee.  THE MOB’S BANKER WILL BE THE NEXT SENATOR FROM ILLINOIS, and Giannoulias STILL wouldn’t be the most corrupt and revolting person in the Senate, as that dubious “honor” (or “horror”) is eternally reserved to the loathsome pig that is Nebraska’s own Ben Nelson.

People of Nebraska, we are speaking to you directly:  have you no shame?

Are your lazy butts so comfy and coazy in your couches that you cannot leave your homes, for once in your lazy lives, and organize protests over the travesty your Senator has committed?  There should be a massive public outcry in every city and town in Nebraska over what Ben Nelson did, how he sold himself for money, how he engineered a scheme where Nebraskans will fund abortions in other states so other states would cover Nebraska’s Medicaid increases FOREVER.

Hey Nebraskans, how does it feel to be welfare queens?

Because that’s what Ben Nelson made you.  The other 49 states now need to carry the weight for you lazy bums; while we work hard and are taxed into oblivion, your welfare rumps get to nestle on those couches, free from paying your fair share — and instead of what little you’ll be sending to Washington covering your own Medicaid increases, you’ll be picking up the tab for abortions coast to coast.  Thanks to Ben Nelson.  The Whore of the Senate.

In the mid-2000s sometime, radio host Dan Savage launched a full-frontal assault on the vile Rick Santorum.  Google the word “Santorum” to witness the fruits his efforts bore.  Savage set out to create a new word, “santorum”, to describe a vulgar sexual byproduct for which there previously had been no known term.  He invented this word like The Simpsons’ adding “cromulent” and “embiggen” to our vocabularies.  He directed his listeners to Google-bomb it, post it repeatedly across the web, and use it as much as possible in conversation until it stuck.  Rick Santorum will never in a hundred lifetimes be able to disassociate himself with “santorum”; his reputation is forever sullied by Savage’s action.

Ben Nelson and Nebraska are worthy of this treatment.

Nelson, for what he did.

Nebraskans, for what they HAVEN’T done.

Nebraskans need to rise up and demand Ben Nelson resigns his post and steps down as Senator.  He went too far, shamed himself too much, and has proved himself unfit to serve in the United States Senate.  Nelson abandoned every principle he claimed he stood for and turned the people of Nebraska, down to the last drag queen and mime, into parasitic abortion-funding welfare queens living off the hard work of other states.

There should be massive protests at every one of Nelson’s offices.  There should be mass demonstrations in the heart of every major city and town.  There should be pressure put on every lawyer in the state to investigate Nelson for any possible criminal charge that could be leveled against him to forcibly remove him from office.  It should become a second job each day for every Nebraskan to spend 8 hours a day looking for ways to remove him as their Senator.

If Ben Nelson had any honor as a man, or as a Nebraskan, he would resign his Senate seat so the Governor could appoint a Republican in his place.  The only way Nelson can remotely redeem himself is for him to leave office and deprive Harry Reid of the critical 60th vote he needs to ram unconstitutional whore’s bargains through the Senate like the “Nelson Healthcare Rationing Bill”, which is what we are going to start calling that shameful, un-American, illegal monstrosity.

Whatever is currently named after Ben Nelson needs to be renamed for someone who is not a whore and does not make Nebraskans welfare queens.

Any brothels, pig waste treatement plants, open sewers, or VD clinics currently without names need to be renamed after Ben Nelson.

Photoshops of Ben Nelson, jokerized, whore-ified, need to fill the first 16 pages of Google image searches.  The first 16 pages of Google searches for “Ben Nelson” need to be filled with articles about what a loathsome and cheap whore he is, and how disgusted Nebraskans are with him — how they rose up and drove this shameful, vile, porcine “man” from office and ran him and his family out of that state with a good old-fashioned tarring and feathering.

Ben Nelson is a national disgrace.

Nebraska is a national disgrace.

Nothing on Earth is going to change the former, but Nebraskans have an opportunity to correct the latter — unless they really ARE a bunch of lazy welfare queens thrilled to fund abortions coast to coast in exchange for not ever having to pay their fair share of anything.

What say you, Nebraska? How long is it going to take for you to force Ben Nelson to resign?

******

UPDATE:  Someone just emailed to ask us why we think Rick Santorum is so vile.  Surprisingly enough, it’s not the homophobic things he’s said and done that bother us.  It’s the scam he pulled with his children’s education and his Pennsylvania residency requirements.  We are still so angry over this we could scream. It’s hard to talk about it without tossing out expletives.

Essentially, Santorum stole thousands of dollars from the state of Pennsylvania, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars.

(1) He kept an empty house in Pennsylvania which he used to claim residency.  The house had never been lived in, had no furniture in it, and neighbors testified they never saw a single person come and go from the property. News crews peaked in windows and saw room after empty room.  Santorum lived 100% of the year in Washington, DC.  But, to keep his elected office and for tax purposes, he pretended he lived in Pennsylvania.  That’s appalling.

(2) What’s WORSE is that he demanded the state of Pennyslvania pay for his children’s private education in Washington, DC.  Santorum, a wealthy man, DEMANDED the taxpayers of Pennsylvania fork over tens of thousands of dollars so the Santorum children could live full time in DC and receive a posh education with lavish perks, since Santorum argued his job kept them from attending public school in Pennsylvania, and he wanted taxpayers to pay for their educations since he could not send them to school for free in PA.

Whenever anyone wealthy attempts to cheat the system like this, we’re disgusted.  Whether Santorum legally has a right to make taxpayers pay for his children’s private education or not, he shouldn’t have done that.  He should have lived in the house he claimed to live in, and should have been happy to count his blessings and pay to educate his children in Washington, since that’s where he CHOSE to live.

We understand Republicans are so misguided they believe attacking gays is the way to win some races.  We think they’re stupid to do that, because homophobia is hate that’s on the losing side of history.  Gays aren’t going anywhere, no more than blacks are, Jews are, or any other minority group.  Santorum can earn his place in history beside Strom Thurmond if he wants to, as one of the most repulsive and hateful men to ever serve in the Senate — but he earned OUR contempt for the residency and taxpayer fraud scam he committed with his children’s education.

That’s one of the most vile schemes any elected official’s ever pulled that we know of.

We remain perpetually disgusted by it.

As a Nebraskan, I second you.

I’ve filled Ben’s mailbox with protests, and assured hi8m that Hell will freeze over before I vote for him again.

If you’re in Lee Terry’s district, notify Tom White that hell will freeze over before you vote for him, either. (And Tom is a friend of mine, and I would have loved to put him in Congress, but not now. We need every committed Republican we can get.) Thanks to Omaha for voting for a black man rather than common sense, the Dems think they can turn Terry’s seat.

Whoa gayle!…direct some of that fire and antipathy toward the one who deserves it: ELECTED OFFICIAL – Ben Nelson

Get out there and scream and holler “Do your research” to that douche bag on the public trust who WHORED OUT Nebraska.

By the way, NO ONE can ever accuse the Hillbuzz Boyz of not doing their ‘research’! Grrr…What an insult! Every waking minute that they aren’t busting their rumps working 2 to 3 jobs, they are on here researching, commenting, posting, inspiring and rallying the troops to make things HAPPEN.

Personally, they give me HOPE–true HOPE. Not that crap Nelson’s bent over for. See below to what your fellow Huskers Laura & Tamara have to say, and act accordingly here next time.

If you have some info to share with all of us(example: http://www.BootBenNelson.com, etc.) about Nebraska gettin’ out there and screaming bloody murder about this, then share it. But don’t direct any of that hostility toward the Boyz. Not on my watch.

      /Rant over.

I certainly wasn’t being hostile to this site. I appreciate it and read it daily…just standing up for the majority of Nebraskans. I emailed Nelson up to 6 times daily and called and called. Emails were ignored and voice mail box full and never answered.

Whooweee, remind me never to really piss you boys off!

    *deep breath*

One thing to remember about conservatives, they have a tendency not to do things like that publically, and that is one of our shortcomings. We’re far more likely to hate someone’s guts and pull that lever against an opponent silently than to rail in public. Naming a sewer after a hated politician? Only folks that did that I think are the liberals in San Francisco.

I will say however, that the Nelson situation is indeed sort of special and needs more public outcry to match the crap poll numbers this guy has as a result of his whoring.

I also feel your frustration. Our natural tendency to be peaceful cooperative citizens really is bone deep and something that we have to buck against internally in order to get something done. You’re going to find this out in spades. It’s the reason why so many liberal policies have gotten into place because we’re far more likely to just go to work and care for our families, than to find us on the street screaming about injustice.

You guys need to hammer the immorality of it all. THAT is what is going to get under a conservative’s skin. Nelson’s behaviour was appalling…And he’s goign to continue to be the Senator from Nebraska unless his constituents do something about it.

I hope that Nebraskans have a good long memory as it’s a long way until 2012. First we have to get through 2010 and then hope that we elect the right folk who won’t eff everything up again.

Also, why do you all reserve your ire for Nelson? What about Meretricious Mary Landrieu? She’s just as whorish as Nelson, plus you get the extra added benefit of alliteration in calling her a whore.

Well, it’s always true that an awful lot of noise is required to attract any attention from DC. So make as much as you possibly can! It’s a shame that we have to take to the streets in order to be heard, but the notion is factual. Here’s some unexpected help:
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Republican attorneys general in 13 states say congressional leaders must remove Nebraska’s political deal from the federal health care reform bill or face legal action, according to a letter provided to The Associated Press Wednesday.

“We believe this provision is constitutionally flawed,” South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster and the 12 other attorneys general wrote in the letter to be sent Wednesday night to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

“As chief legal officers of our states we are contemplating a legal challenge to this provision and we ask you to take action to render this challenge unnecessary by striking that provision,” they wrote.

In a rare Christmas Eve vote, Senate Democrats pushed sweeping health care legislation to the brink of Senate passage, crushing a year-end Republican filibuster against President Barack Obama’s call to remake the nation’s health care system. The 60-39 vote marked the third time in as many days Democrats posted a supermajority needed to advance the legislation.

The letter was signed by top prosecutors in Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Michigan, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Washington state. All are Republicans, and McMaster and the attorneys general of Florida, Michigan and Pennsylvania are running for governor in their respective states.

    Wow…where have I been???

I DID have to google Dan Savage/Rick Santorum to find out (and I live in PA!) what the ‘link’ was/is.

Whoa…didn’t see that definition coming my way.

Can I just add my two cents as to why I (and some other Pennsylvanians) think Santorum lost. Not discounting the ‘power of the Internets…bowing to the intelligent design of one ManBearPig’ I am sure the Savage ‘tagging’ had some part…but…honest, Santorum absolutely shot himself in the foot coming out (with GWB) and supporting/campaigning ALL over PA (think a whistle stop type tour…with GWB in tow) to help Arlen Specter (ARLEN FREAKING SPECTER!!!) win the the Republican Primary (when he was being soundly trounced in the polls by Pat Toomey–a fiscal conservative; right to lifer; pro-Second Amendment Republican). Both Bush and Santorum put PARTY over ideology…and we ‘got’ Arlen Specter.

Santorum later lost to the incredibly empty suited (Keystone Staters should all place TWO empty suits on our Obamas Greivance Pole…one for Dear Leader…one for Bobby C.) Bob Casey…because:

    Specter lifted not a finger to help Santorum;

Santorum was known to go off on tangents (like the one that apparently I missed…but Mr. Savage didnt’) AND

Two thirds of Pennsylvani voters ARE OVER THE AGE OF 105…or close on the their next birthdays…and THOUGHT they were voting for Bobby’s late dad, Bob Casey (who was an old time, respectable…yes respectable Democrat)

So…that’s Santorum from a PA voter’s perspective…a Democrat who saw the ‘not so bright’ Casey doing a ‘Kennedy’ and presuming that a dynasty was needed starting…

If Santorum hadn’t supported Specter…the newly minted Democrat majority would have been one less (and possibly two) if Santorum could have over come being, Santorum.

    Sigh.

And, like I posted on the ‘Five Horsemen of the GOP Acopalypse’ thread…RS is being ‘floated’ (Kathleen Parker being one admirer) as a ‘wanted’ (read easily defeated) Republican candidate.

Sorry to have hijacked the Nelson thread…and yes…’nelson’ SHOULD be attached to some prolific level of selling out in our lexicon.

I’ve been to Omaha twice in the past six months, and it is a booming town with unemployment less than 5%.

They are asleep. They are comfortable. They are oblivious.

Ben Nelson woke them up, and they WILL fight. That cowboy spirit is alive and well in Nebraska, and Ben Nelson will be TOAST in the next election.

I hope they try to get him thrown out of office before 2012, and Nelson’s sell-out vote may just spur the people into action.

I’m guessing that the White House has some major “shit” on Nelson, and threatened to expose it if he didn’t vote their way. That’s my guess.
Anyone from Nebraska think I may be right on that one?

shit on Nelson or not, but if anyone is up for some black propaganda I have a suggestion.
1)make ‘ben nelson’ synonymous with a really disgusting sex act, the way Savage did with Santorum. One possibility: deliberately making your colon come out your anus (this is courtesy of a past Savage column)
2)spreading the rumor that it’s something Nelson really enjoys doing.

Are Nebraskans fighting? Yes. Hard enough? Probably not, but as JR pointed out above, we are busy going to work and taking care of our families.

I’m not trying to make excuses, but that is where a majority of our priorities lie. For me, faith, family and work are what take top priority. I work full time outside the home, as well as manage my home and family of four, and it is not always easy to find time or energy to make a scene politically.

I do what I can by posting items (including links to hillbuzz!) on facebook and talking to people at my work, church and in my social circle about what’s going on and what they need to be watching for. My husband and I have participated in a few rallies and I have written several letters and made dozens of calls to the offices of my legislators (Sen. Nelson mostly, since he’s the most deviant of them all.)

I realize now that I do need to be doing more and I appreciate your “action items” and I did go to Senator Nelson’s Omaha office after you suggested it a couple of weeks ago. I definitely need practical, easy to execute items that I can fit in my busy schedule. My husband and I are fed up with politics as usual, not just with Sen. Nelson but in Washington as a whole.

And Nebraskans are doing something. There are anti Nelson healthcare vote ads running and as soon as Senator Nelson announced his intention to vote for the healthcare legislation, a rally was organized by the local Americans for Prosperity group to protest.

I will make sure that Nebraskan’s will NOT forget what Senator Nelson did when he is up for re-election. If there is no one willing to stand up for truth and life on the republican/conservative ticket, I will run against him.

But why not go for the FULL NELSON? Why don’t you also rant on that senile, piece of garbage who went brain dead when he went into outer space, Bill Nelson of Florida. He screwed all Floridians and got concessions for three Florida Counties, Broward, Palm Beach and, Miami because that is where the senior citizen Democrats reside.

I think that would really make the word Nelson have new meaning, don’t you?

The senior citizen democrats in Florida were subject to a 2 pronged assault from both the Senate and the Congress when Congresswoman WHORE Debbie Wasserman-Shultz brought Nazi Pelosi to an old age home to have a photo op unannounced. I think that you should blast this progressive Whore as the democrat party is touting her as a rising star. All she is is Nazi Pelosi’s lap dog.

It appears that Pelosi’s other lapdog Ron Klein has his new job set up because you know that he is going to get his butt kicked by Lt. Col. Allen West.

Let’s go for the “Full Nelson” Boyz, what do you say?

Just out of curiosity, what’s your stance on abortion? Is your objection in this case moral, or fiscal, or both?

On the subject of Nelson, I think Cynthia Yockey has a point. People need to recall their Senators and put the fear of god into them. Unless the GOP establishment doesn’t want to get back control yet. At the moment they can tell themselves that things will improve, that they have plenty of time before re-election and that their constituents won’t remember their whoredom if things are seen to improve. If they actually fear being turfed out now, then some of the stupider bills might not get passed.

Our problem with Nelson is that he told the voters of Nebraska, when he campaigned, that he was against federally funding of abortion — and they elected him to the Senate because of that.

Now, he has gone against that and is making Nebraskans pay for the abortions of other states.

Replace “abortion” with any word you want and we would be just as sickened by Nelson. If he said he was against federally funded capital punishment, then struck a deal where Nebraska would pay for the capital punishment in other states, we’d be just as angry about this.

Abortion is not the issue — it is that he flat out said he was against something so that his voters would elect him, and then he betrayed them so shamelessly and is forcing on them one of the things he specifically said he would never do.

Our top issues are Voter Fraud, Government Waste, ACORN, Corruption, Energy Independence, and National Security. We don’t weigh in on abortion because Roe v. Wade settled that 30 years ago. Resolve the top issues we’ve listed and maybe we will add social issues to the mix in the future, but we doubt it. There are only so many hours in a day, and we don’t fall into the MSM and Liberal trap of throwing our energy into things that go nowhere and spin out of control. THAT’S why ACORN still exists, because attention is always thrown to social issues instead.

Ben’s in deep shit, and he knows it. He’s trying to spin his way out, but the damage has been done.

After the House and Senate bills are reconciled, Harry Reid only needs 51 votes in the Senate to pass the abomination. Nelson can vote “No” and the damn thing will still pass. The vote that actually counted was the cloture vote.

Take my word for it, this Nebraskan will remember this when Ben’s seat is up for election. I voted for him last time because I thought he’d done a good job as governor of Nebraska and could be counted on to consider Nebraska’s conservative bent. He didn’t, and not only will I not forget, I have already started hammering away at every one I know.

Boyz…it was the Penn Hills (near Pittsburgh) school district.

In PA we have an option called ‘cyber schooling’ where your local SD (along with some Commonwealth funds) provides for students to be home schooled via the internet ‘cyber’ classroom (a couple different program providers are accredited).

Initially, because of the family ‘travelling’ cyber schooling was covered by Penn Hills…then, and I think the timing was AFTER he had lost-but I could be wrong-the empty house, yet still paying property tax issue arose. The family had been living in Virginia (near DC)…but still owned an empty house in PA, that had up to date tax records…but did not use the local VA schools (where they also paid property taxes)

It was pretty ugly because some of the PA info was from (allegedly) PA school board members leaking (confidential) information. Fingers were pointed all around.

What has bugged me most recently about Santorum has been his little ‘zingers’ aimed at Sarah Palin. Like he is jockeying for position in the cadre of Horsemen (or, IMO, in terms of electability…like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic).

I am puzzled by this paragraph from the blog:

Is it going too far to describe Santorum as vile and to take delight in what Dan Savage created? I think it is.
I love this site and I am disappointed that these guys would feel this way about Santorum in spite of what some would consider his flaws. Below is a quote from Santorum that I completely agree with and I would think from reading this blog that the boys would too. Am I missing something?

“I believe we are at war with Islamic fascists and I singled out Iran and Syria as examples of Islamic fascist regimes. Many Muslims say the same thing, and the editors should, too, for it is undeniable. [...]

For my part, I have taken great care to distinguish between the Islamic fascists who are trying to destroy us (and dominate and oppress their fellow Muslims) and the hundreds of millions of Muslims who wish to be free to follow the guidance of their own good judgment. [...]

I am proud to have singled out tyrannical and fanatical Islamic regimes and identified them for what they are: Islamic fascist states that are the world’s leading supporters of terrorism. It does no service to the great majority of the world’s Muslims to appease such regimes, which have killed and tortured hundreds of thousands of decent Muslims for the “crime” of challenging oppression and calling for freedom.

I have said time and time again across Pennsylvania these past weeks that the fight against Islamic fascism is the great test of our generation. Leaders are obliged to articulate this threat and to propose what is necessary to defeat it. That is my purpose, and our national calling. The American people have always rallied to the cause of freedom once they understood what was at stake. I have no doubt that they will again.”

Not defending Santorum but I heard him on Cspan. He was asked about congressman getting a pay cut or pay freeze. He said he didn’t agree with that because unlike some in congress who have millions like Kerry and Pelosi, a pay cut would hurt a lot of members including him. He has 6 children. He may be the sole bread earner in the family, don’t know. I thought he made a good point. Bid difference between congressman like Kerry and Pelosi who have money and those that don’t.

Here is my beef with Santorum: he has lately been going on Fox trashing Bush like his deficits were equal to Obama’s spending orgy. He has been very snarky about Bush and I find it supremely irritating.

I also have noticed the Palin attacks and as far as I am concerned he can join the other opportunists like Newt Gingrich and sit in the corner.

I have a list of people who are on my unacceptable list and because of his comments I have added him. In our poll on my private site he was one of the ones thrown off the island early. He may think he’s a front-runner for 2012 but he is going to go the way of Dan Quayle.

I want to see your list!
I agree wholeheartedly that these guys keep looking to the past and bashing their own party instead of focusing on the FUTURE.
And these Palin bashers will find that Palin supporters will go after them like rabid dogs. Me included.
      Love the Quayle line.
      So true, so true.

      Off topic but…

Dan Qualye is one of the nicest people I have ever met.
I met him once and he is a geniune man.
He once helped a friend load her groceries in her trunk. No cameras.. just to be nice.
I think the real genuine politicians cant wait to get out of public view…and leave.
He was treated like Palin.. IMO.
He was portrayed as some dumb rich guy when he became the VP… did you know they had to sell the family van to afford something to wear on innauguration day?
      Anyway….

I have not followed him closely and I was not aware that he has been criticizing President Bush and Sarah Palin. I don’t like that either and there is no reason for him to do so. I am also unhappy with him being against pay cuts or freezes, that looks very bad for him. There are too many people with children who are barely able to keep going and it is disheartening for him to say that he has 6 kids and needs the money he makes. Everyone would like more money and I believe if congressmen and women had to struggle with money as many of their constituents do it would temper some of their decision making. That is not to say that if someone has achieved that position they shouldn’t be paid according to what they have accomplished.I don’t believe we should spread the wealth, but they shouldn’t be in a different world than those they serve.
I still think it was going too far for the boys to say he was vile and to happily remind us what Ken Savage has done to the name Santorum. Maybe that is some of the old Democrat viciousness coming out against conservatives? I do love their blogs, but I was disappointed in them.

Miss Marple…I would love to compare lists with you.

I wanted to concur with you about Santorum’s ‘Bashing of Bush.’. That to me is ‘jumping on the bus’ with the destination sign that says ‘Bush’s Fault.’ Like Bedford Falls or Emerald City its a mythical place where any and all ‘bad things’ (loss of job; cat 5 hurricane or adult acne) can be blamed (conveniently) on one man. No one else eveh needs to be called out…

Now, off the same Government Motors assembly line rolled another bus, this one marked Utopia. This bus has no real destination or route plan; and riders are routinely thrown underneath (and backed up on several times). Standing currently in the stairwell, ready to be tossed is one Janet Incompetano.

My point with rambling is…Santorum IS just like the others (the Five Horseman, plus Jockey Newt). Like the when the others in the cadre spout off, I just get annoyed and tune out the Bush opportunist bashing…but its the Sarah Palin ‘swipes’ that make me run for my phone or computer to vent.

Santorum did have a lot of good points and good works when he was a Senator representing PA (fiscal conservative and for tax cuts across the board; very proMilitary)…but he also piled up a lot of negatives. Like, as mentioned above, supporting government ‘intervention’ in personal lives and playing a game that he ‘resided’ in PA rather than just say ‘my kids are very young, I want them with me…I work for PA in DC so we all live down here while I am in office.’. Which I think PA voters would have understood.

And now he is back…and hasn’t learned from his “loss of seat” experience. He is hanging (thought wise) with the same set (the ever so predictable Horseman) and parroting THEIR line “Bush was bad; Palin is a lightweight.”

Bush deserves better and Palin is, whether the old boys’ ‘Horseman’ Club want to admit it or not…the future.

I love you guys…but surely what Rick Santorum did is not THE most vile thing you’ve seen a politician do…you are from Chicago you know…lol. Actually, I think it happens a lot. I remember back in the day when Al Gore sat up in Washington and talked about his Tennessee roots and every man, woman and child in TN screamed LIAR as loud as we could…because Al Gore’s father was a senator and he and his silver spoon grew up in Washington, DC. Sure..he had a slumlord house he rented out but we knew better. In fact..people here in TN were so furious with that claim of his when he ran for President TN did not even vote for him (which we thought was hilarious by the way). Now he has a gawdy, electricity-sucking mansion (near where Cheryl Crow’s mansion with millions of dollars of irrigation systems for her green grass) and truly…hipocrit is not even a strong enough word.

I’m not a Rick Santorum fan but I think what Nelson did was ten times worse.

Hi. I have been a longtime reader of your website, but a first time writer to it. Keep up the good work.

Just thought you’d be interested in something that was on the TV news here in Omaha yesterday. Senator Nelson was being interviewed outside somewhere by the local media, and somebody that was either walking by or driving by shouted “boo.” I was amazed, as that’s just not something that’s done here. He’s not having a very easy time back home at the moment, I don’t think.

Just an FYI-Right after the senate vote, Nebraskans DID come out in freezing temps to rally against Nelsen! I believe Huckabee was the “leader” and a couple thousand showed up with just one days notice. (just before Christmas!)
Happy New Year Boyz and fans!
