A Conversation with a Coptic Christian

Posted at February 22, 2012 by TheTamminator // Hillbuzz

This afternoon I was running errands and stopped at a convenience store for gas.  I rarely go to this particular station, as it’s a little out of my way, and everyone who works there has a middle eastern accent.  You can call me prejudiced if you want, but I’ve become very wary of the muslims in my State, and frankly, I’d rather give my business to one of the locals if I have the choice.

I started to chat with the man behind the counter about the new Mediterranean restaurant that was opening across the street, and he said that he’d already eaten there, and the food was pretty good.

“Do they serve gyros?”, I said.  “Yes,” he replied, “it’s a Greek restaurant, so the gyros taste a lot different than they do in my home country of Egypt.”

“Oh, you’re from Egypt?  You must be pretty upset about the chaos that’s going on over there,” I said.   “Yes,” he said, “I’m worried about my family.”

Being the ballsy chick that I am, I asked him directly, “What does your family think of the Muslim Brotherhood taking over power?”

“They’re not happy about it,” he said.  “They are afraid that the muslims will be much worse than Mubarek was.  Most people didn’t mind Mubarek.  Unless you were causing trouble, he left you alone.  I don’t hate muslims.  I lived with them.  But there are some that want to tell you what to do.  And those make us scared.”

“I thought the Egyptians wanted democracy.  Didn’t they understand that the Muslim Brotherhood would be just like a dictatorship?”  I asked.

“The people do whatever the mullahs tell them to do.  They don’t think for themselves.  The mullahs tell them who to vote for, and that’s who they voted for.  What you see on the news isn’t the whole story,” he said.

“Are you a Coptic Christian?” I asked.

“Yes,” he said, “and a lot of my people are trying to get out of Egypt now.  My Dad says they will be okay.  But, I don’t know…”

“Well, I’m glad you got out and that you are safe.  I’ll pray for your family,” I said with a smile.

He beamed.  “Thank you so much.  Stop by again some time.”

“I will,” I replied.

And I plan to stop by more often. So much for my prejudice over the accent, huh?    Who knew he was a Coptic Christian who’d come to America to escape a dictatorship and make a life for himself.

I don’t know the man’s family, but I’m certainly going to pray for their safety tonight.  And I pray that he’s wrong about the muslims being worse than Mubarek.

Sadly, I don’t think he is.

Here’s another story about a Coptic Christian family escaping to the U.S.

Isn’t It Time You Called the Tolerant Left What It Really Is: Pure Evil

Posted at February 22, 2012 by Kevin DuJan // Hillbuzz

I highly recommend Lori Ziganto’s latest essay, “Demagoguing Rape, Exploiting Victims: The Degenerate Left Continues to Use and Abuse Women”.

First off, notice how Ziganto never, ever uses the word “liberals” — unlike many conservative writers who very stupidly employ the term the Tolerant Left wants people to use, when called a Leftist a “liberal” is like calling a cockroach a “hug-a-bug” or a crimmigrant an “undocumented worker”.

Secondly, see how she calls out the Tolerant Left (which she calls “The Degenerate Left”) for being, well, EVIL.  Which they are.  But, just as too many conservative writers feel some strange need to use the term “liberal” (because idiot editors possibly might make them) instead of the more accurate “Leftist”, many people shy away from discussing true evil in the world — which honest to goodness really does exist.

Evil, in fact, has a way of reconstituting itself and mobilizing its forces at various times in history. I firmly believe the militarized ideological death cult of Islam is pure Evil manifesting itself on Earth — and the havoc and destruction that Muslims have wrought on the face of the Earth is solid evidence of that. No true religion’s holy books or scriptures contain blueprints for the conquest of other people and the torture and execution of those who will not submit to the religion’s mastery.  Just Islam — which is more “manifestation of evil” than “religion of peace”.

Is the “Tolerant Left” in this country evil?  In a word, yes — and it’s suddenly no surprise why Leftists are so vocally supportive of Islam and forever rush to support projects like the Ground Zero Victory Mosque and other things that slap in the face of common decency.  Islam and the Tolerant Left employ many of the same tactics; they both, in their own ways, declare jihads on their perceived enemies and stop at nothing to silence those who oppose them through intimidation and bullying.

The elite, agenda-driven media’s giving Rick Santorum Hell this week for saying back in 2008 that Satan is actively working to destroy the United States — but, you know what, he’s right.  If you believe in a benevolent God and all the powers of Good, then you also believe in His Detractor and the forces of evil who seek to snuff out love’s light.

Who is the torch bearer of all that is good and just in the world and the biggest threat to those who serve the forces of evil today?  America.

It’s pretty obvious that America’s under constant assault by the forces of evil — be they in the form of Islam or the Tolerant Left that acts as Islam’s Fifth Column here in the United States.

The older I get (and the more friends I have who have babies), the more horrified I am at how aggressively the Tolerant Left glorifies abortion. It’s sick that Leftists forever seek to obscure the fact that this is infanticide — the killing of a child developing within another person — by using euphemisms like “Choice”. If you are someone who ever cedes moral and strategic ground to the Leftists by saying “Choice”. please stop today.  The correct term is “Pro-Abortion”, not “Pro-Choice”…and if we want to get really accurate, it’s “Murder” and not “Choice”.

“I murdered the baby that was growing inside me because I didn’t want to carry it to term, for whatever reason” is what someone should say instead of “I had an abortion because that was my Choice”.

You can argue all day about whether women should have a legal right to kill their babies (unborn or otherwise), but the REAL battle in this niche of the Culture War is actually being fought in the realm of semantics.  The more you say “liberal” instead of Leftist or “Pro-Choice” instead of “Pro-Abortion”, the more you inch the ball just a little more in the Left’s favor…and in the case of infanticide/abortion, the more you remove the moral shame of using abortion as birth control.

Read Ziganto’s essay and think about it today (and every day, to be honest).

A Bad Day for Zombies in Chicago: Defend the Vote Testifies Before Board of Elections

Posted at February 22, 2012 by Kevin DuJan // Breaking News, Featured Content

Today’s going to be a terrible day for zombies in Chicago — as ballot integrity crusader (and zombie-vote slayer) Sharon Meroni testifies about voter fraud (and the dead voting) before the Cook County Board of Elections.

It looks like this is going on for some time today — from 11am – 5pm.

Do you know if there are people like Sharon in YOUR state doing things like this?

Why not spend a moment today to look around on the Interwebs and see if there are anti-zombie efforts underway near you…so perhaps you, too, could answer the call and be part of the effort to keep ghouls and other creepy things in their tombs on Election Day so that the winners of the 2012 races in November are decided by people who are actually alive and are legally able to vote (imagine that!).

I’m determined to make it absolutely impossible for even the most partisan Democrats out there to ever again argue with a straight face that “nothing’s wrong with the election system” or that “not much fraud’s ever committed”.

What are things YOU can do from home to help?

HillBuzz Open Thread: Wednesday February 22nd, 2012

Posted at February 22, 2012 by Kevin DuJan // Featured Content, Open Threads

We’re still having technical and computer problems related to the move to our new servers.  Over the next few days, you’ll notice minor changes and tweaks here and there as we continue to look for ways to make the site load faster while keeping it safe from hacks and other problems.  A lot of it is a trial and error effort — so be patient.

As usual, it’s the comment feature that causes the most problems.  There’s always someone trying to sneak links onto the site that lead somewhere malicious — particularly to these Asian sites that advertise for Cialis or Viagra.  If you’re someone who tends to complain about a comment you made not posting — and  you’re putting links in your comments to sites that are not official media sites (anything that has a .blogspot or .wordpress as part of its URL is a non-official media site for sure) — this is one of the biggest reasons why it’s not posting, because the spam filter thinks you are trying to do something bad.  I’ve been doing this for four years now, and — still — the thing that makes this most difficult to do every day is not the computer or technical stuff, it’s the endless complaining about comments not posting. It’s just soul-crushing sometimes, and at this point comes off like that Wah-wah-wah-wah sound the teachers made in the Charlie Brown cartoons.

I hope things are back to normal later today or tomorrow. You have no idea how fantastic it is to now be dealing with a professional host company, so trust me the inconvenience of working these bugs out is vastly outweighed by the peace of mind generated by working with nice, normal, dependable people now.
